The study carried out an analysis of the vehicle traffic parameters on a national road in 2011-2016. The variability and uncertainty of results were evaluated. An analysis of traffic data recorded on the city's entry and exit lanes was carried out. The variations in traffic volume are of interest e.g. in dynamic traffic management systems and navigation services, examining the benefits of flexible work time and places and assessing the environmental effects of traffic congestion. Research has shown that the assumption that lanes perform equally is not always true. Traffic volume models should be periodically calibrated taking into account the shape of the daily profile, which may, for example, allow public transport timetables to be more responsive to the needs of travelers.

Traffic congestion is one of the prevalent phenomena in Indonesia, especially in big cities. There are a variety of factors causing congestion in the city, including the expansion of existing infrastructure, the large number of residents in the area, and the disparity between the growth of motor vehicles and highways. By careful transport planning, this can be fixed. The estimation of traffic volume is one strategy to see how much road growth is to offset vehicle volume growth to prevent congestion. This study tries to estimate the traffic volume of National Road III Jember Banyuwangi KM 252 motorized 2-wheeled vehicles passing by. The data used were obtained from 24 hours observation for 7 days. Using the Neuro-Fuzzy method which applies 1 day out of 7 days as testing data, and obtaining the average error is 13.2747%. This average error shows that the error rate that occurs is 5% of all errors. Neuro-Fuzzy can forecast the traffic volume of 2-wheeled motorized vehicles reasonably well.

Continuous, automatic measurements of road traffic volume allow the obtaining of information on daily, weekly or seasonal fluctuations in road traffic volume. They are the basis for calculating the annual average daily traffic volume, obtaining information about the relevant traffic volume, or calculating indicators for converting traffic volume from short-term measurements to average daily traffic volume. The covid-19 pandemic has contributed to extensive social and economic anomalies worldwide. In addition to the health consequences, the impact on travel behavior on the transport network was also sudden, extensive, and unpredictable. Changes in the transport behavior resulted in different values of traffic volume on the road and street network than before. The article presents road traffic volume analysis in the city before and during the restrictions related to covid-19. Selected traffic characteristics were compared for 2019 and 2020. This analysis made it possible to characterize the daily, weekly and annual variability of traffic volume in 2019 and 2020. Moreover, the article attempts to estimate daily traffic patterns at particular stages of the pandemic. These types of patterns were also constructed for the weeks in 2019 corresponding to these stages of the pandemic. Daily traffic volume distributions in 2020 were compared with the corresponding ones in 2019. The obtained results may be useful in terms of planning operational and strategic activities in the field of traffic management in the city and management in subsequent stages of a pandemic or subsequent pandemics.

Park-and-ride is a traffic management method of traffic congestion problem in urban areas. As an extent of total demand management, park-and-ride service (P&R service) has broadly implemented in many countries. P&R service has proven to be progressive in alleviating traffic congestion despite of complication in finding parking spaces in the city centers. The objective of this research is to discuss a model to shift car travelers’ to park-and-ride service (P&R service) and to investigate the factors which influence car travelers’ behavior. This study can support policy makers’ with useful information for future planning and development of park-and-ride service. Research outcomes will support policy-making and provide base for future study on modal choice behavior model for park-and-ride service.

Traffic Congestion is a situation of transportation system that results in slow speed of vehicles, take large time for trip and increase vehicle quening. In metro city, traffic congestion is the major problem. Pune comes in metropolitan city. The increasing number of vehicles in the metro city leads to traffic congestion. Thus, there is need of proper traffic management in the city. The objective of this research work is to study the traffic characteristics of urban area and provide simulation technique. The study is based on traffic data collected for 8 days during peak and non-peak hours. Different study is carried out to find out the problem statement like volume study, travel time studies, parking studies, delay studies, pedestrian studies, and accident studies. The study is divided in four major parts like Causes of traffic congestion in urban area, remedial measure to avoid traffic congestion. Current IRC specification on SH-27, and new traffic strategies can be implemented by Simulation of Urban Mobility SUMO - for analysis before they are using in real word simulation. In this research paper, we comparatively study the Indian Road Congress (IRC) SP:84-2014 for state highway 27 i.e.Nagar road and that study is divided into the 12 major points .

Traffic congestion causes many socio-economic problems in developing nations. One of the main causes of traffic congestion can be attributed to poor design practices. In the last few years, Lahore city has expanded haphazardly where the allocation of resources was done based on political will instead of feasible design practices. This haphazard growth coupled with a poor design resulted in traffic congestion on the main roads of the city. In this study, simulations using different traffic management design strategies were carried out on major roads to check if traffic delays and Level of Service (LOS) can be improved. The most feasible designs based on the simulated results were proposed for the improvement of the existing infrastructure designs. These findings suggested that Akbar Chowk and Jinnah Hospital Intersection have greatly reduced the traffic delay time by 92.97% and 92.67%, respectively. Policymakers can utilize these simulated results for future design guidelines to accommodate the future growth of traffic on these arterial roads.

Abstract. This paper argues the relationship between traffic volume and accidents in highway sections. The paper shows the French city of Nice case and the analysis of the M6098 highway connecting the city to the airport. Amongst the different variables that are linked to traffic volume we select, explaining our choice, the NO2 pollution parameter. We collect a large volume of data from a long period of time between 2012 and 2014 that we collect from the national road traffic center. Our results show it does exist a relationship between traffic volume and accidents with a stronger factor during the weekdays. A long debate exists in the Literature concerning this possible correlation and our paper suggests the confirmation for one of the different positions expressed. Our conclusions help city Managers in their task to understand the conditions of urban living and transport. They are additional inputs to define local policies in order to improve the efficiency of private transport and prepare future smart cities.

The city of Denpasar is the capital of Bali Province, as well as the centre of various activities including government offices, hospitals, schools/ universities, trade and services, as well as tourism. Traffic congestion in the city of Denpasar is increasing from year to year, especially at the point of the intersection node, such as at the signalised intersection of Udayana University Sudirman Campus. The high trip attraction to Udayana University Campus has exacerbated the congestion of the intersection. The purpose of this study was to examine an alternative to managing the traffic flow using the Vissim software. The required data included the intersection geometric data, traffic volume and signal timing. The calculation of the intersection’s performance was conducted based on the Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (IHCM). The simulation of the traffic flow management was conducted with the help of the Vissim software. The results of the performance analysis of the intersection conduced using Vissim Software indicated that the application of Vissim software was valid. The traffic management proposed has reduced both queue length and delay time.

AbstractIncreasing the number of vehicles on the road network and the growing popularity of sustainable development of urban areas have resulted in the need for implementing efficient and cost-effective traffic measurement methods. From the perspective of traffic management, up-to-date information about vehicle density and access to historical data are the key components of traffic variability analyses. Rapid technological development based on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) has popularised the wireless sensor networks (WSN) application. The solution enables continuous monitoring of selected area using multiple wireless and low-cost sensors connected within a network. Those systems are dynamically evolving tools for solving an effective traffic management issues in city centres and urban environments. In the study, authors have performed a traffic variability and its dynamics analysis in a selected area using a multi-sensor network for traffic volume monitoring. The article presents the results of research conducted between years 2015 - 2018 throughout the city of Bielsko-Biala with the support of OnDynamic multimodal system. Within the context of the analyses, basic traffic parameters have been determined and variability trends have been identified on selected road sections. Long-term research indicated the minor variation in a number of vehicle detections and relatively stable traffic volume in the city centre during the analysis period.
