The research is aimed at determine the  relationship of  achievement motivation and assesment towards the guidance for teacher’s professionalism on the teacher’s teaching ability. The research was done in Ngemplak, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The number of population is all elementary school teachers, while the number of the samples is 50 teachers taken using simple random sampling. The instruments used were: (1) observation checklist for getting the data of teacher’s teaching ability, and (2) questionnaires for achievement motivation and assesment towards the guidance for teacher’s professionalism. The data were analyzed quantitatively by using simple and multiple correlation and regression.  The result showed that: there is a positive correlation between achievement motivation (X1) and assessment towards the guidance for teacher’s professionalism (X2) simultaneously and teacher’s teaching ability (Y), (ry12 =0.62 and r2 =0,38 ). Based on the results, it can be stated that the ability of teachers can be improved by improving achievement motivation and developing the assessment of the professional teachers.

The teacher is the party most often accused of being the person most responsible for the quality of education. Teachers who have the ability in four teacher competencies, will be able to show better performance. A teacher's competence will also be better, if accompanied by a strong achievement motivation. Competence that is accompanied by the achievement motivation will affect the performance of teachers in all fields that are done. This research was conducted to obtain empirical evidence about the presence or absence of the influence of teacher competence and achievement motivation simultaneously and significantly to the performance of Certified Public Elementary School teachers in Kendal District, Kendal District. The population in this study were all certified elementary school teachers in the Regional Education Unit of the Kendal District, who were civil servants. While the sample selection method used is random sampling. Data about the variables in this study were obtained using a scale instrument (questionnaire). The data that has been collected will be analyzed with the classic assumption test and hypothesis test. To test the hypothesis in this study, multiple regression analysis was used. The results showed that the competence and achievement motivation did not significantly influence the performance of certified teachers. Abstrak Guru merupakan pihak yang paling sering mendapat tudingan sebagai orang yang paling bertanggung jawab terhadap kualitas pendidikan. Guru yang memiliki kemampuan dalam empat kompetensi guru, akan dapat menunjukkan kinerja yang lebih baik. Kompetensi seorang guru juga akan lebih baik, jika dibarengi dengan adanya motivasi berprestasi yang kuat. Kompetensi yang dibarengi dengan adanya motivasi berprestasi akan mempengaruhi kinerja guru dalam segala bidang yang dikerjakan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memperoleh bukti empiris tentang ada tidaknya pengaruh kompetensi guru dan motivasi berprestasi secara simultan dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru SD Negeri yang Bersertifikasi di Kecamatan Kendal, Kabupaten Kendal. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu semua guru SD Negeri yang bersertifikasi di UPTD Pendidikan Daerah Kecamatan-Kabupaten Kendal, yang berstatus sebagai PNS. Sedangkan metode pemilihan sampel yang digunakan adalah random sampling. Data tentang variabel-variabel dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dengan menggunakan instrumen berupa skala (angket). Data yang telah terkumpul akan dianalisis dengan uji asumsi klasik dan uji hipotesis. Untuk menguji hipotesis dalam penelitian ini, digunakan analisis regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi dan motivasi berprestasi tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja guru bersertifikasi.

The present study investigated elementary school teachers' competency in relation to their sex and age in India and Iran. 484 teachers were selected through Simple Random Sampling from elementary schools of Mysore city (India) and Arak city (Iran). Subjects consisted of 187 men and 297 women. The tool of study was 'Teachers Competency Scale' developed by investigators. Results revealed that female teachers are more competent in some dimensions of competency. Also, it was found that age has no influence on teachers' competency.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hubungan: budaya sekolah dengan kinerja guru; komunikasi dengan kinerja guru; budaya sekolah dengan komitmen; komunikasi dengan komitmen, komitmen dengan kinerja guru; budaya sekolah dengan kinerja melalui komitmen; komunikasi dengan kinerja guru melalui komitmen. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 250 orang guru di 100 Sekolah yang dipilih secara stratified proporsional random sampling dari populasi sebesar 2.276 orang guru yang tersebar di 274 SD Negeri di Kota Banjarmasin. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriftip dan analisi jalur. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa budaya sekolah memiliki hubungan dengan kinerja, komunikasi memiliki hubungan dengan kinerja, budaya sekolah memiliki hubungan dengan komitmen, komunikasi memiliki hubungan dengan komitmen, komitmen memiliki hubungan dengan kinerja guru, komitmen merupakan perantara hubugan budaya sekolah dengan kinerja guru dan hubungan komunikasi dengan kinerja guru. Kata Kunci: budaya sekolah, komunikasi, komitmen, kinerja THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SCHOOL CULTURE, COMMUNICATION, AND COMMITMENT AND THE STATE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS’ PERFORMANCE Abstract: This study was aimed to describe the relationship between: school culture and tea- chers’ performance; communication and teachers’ commitment; school culture and commitment; communication and commitment; commitment and teachers’ performance; school culture and performance through commitment; communication and teachers’ performance through commitment. The sample consisting of 250 teachers from 100 schools was selected using the stratified proportional random sampling technique from a population of 2,276 teachers teaching in 274 state elementary schools in Banjarmasin Municipality. The data were collected using an instrument which had been validated and which was reliable. The data were analyzed using the descriptive analysis and the path analysis. The findings showed that there was relationship between: school culture and teachers’ performance, communication and performance, school culture and commitment, communication and commitment, commitment and teachers’ performance. Commitment became an intervening variable between school culture and teachers’ performance and between communication and teachers’ performance. The objective of this research is to obtain the empirical account of the correlation between compensation and performance of the Islamic Religious Education teachers in Kabupaten Minahasa, North Sulawesi. The population of this research is elementary school teachers. A sample of sixty respondents is drawn using a simple random sampling technique of Taro Yamane formula. Instruments used for the data collection are questionnaires on teachers’ performance and compensation. The data are analyzed employing a simple regression and partial correlation. This research finds out that a significant relationship between compensation and performance of the Islamic Religious Education teachers exists.

This study aims to look at the effect of competence and achievement motivation on the performance of primary school teachers with job satisfaction as an intervening variable. The sample in this study amounted to 143 elementary school teachers, samples were taken using stratified random sampling. The researcher used path analysis as data analysis technique. This study found that (1) Teachers’ competence  and achievement motivation influence simultaneously and partially on job satisfaction (2) Teacher’ competence, achievement motivation and job satisfaction simultaneously affect teachers’ performance, but the competence do not directly and significantly affect the performance of primary school teachers. But the competence affects teachers' performance indirectly through job satisfaction.

This study aims to examine the contribution of education infrastructure, environmental conditions, and work discipline teacher performance UPTD Pendidikan Kecamatan Brati  simultaneously and partially. This research is quantitative. The population of this study were 188 elementary school teachers then retrieved a sample of 128 teachers through proporsional random sampling. The technique of collecting data using questionnaires. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis, test the accuracy of the model, test the accuracy of parameter estimators (t test), donations predictors and classical assumption. Results of the study: 1) the infrastructure of education, the environment and simultaneously work discipline has contributed to the performance of elementary school teachers in the District UPTD Brati with α 5% is a significant level of value 1,657 0,000 <0,05 and the effective contribution of 74.68%. 2) Means of education infrastructure showed a significant influence on the performance of teachers with sig 0.000 <0.05 and the effective contribution of 25.93%. 3) Environmental conditions showed no significant effect on the performance of teachers with sig 0.000 <0.05 and the effective contribution of 11:03%. 4) Discipline work shows significant effects on the performance of teachers with sig 0.000 <0.05 and the effective contribution of 37.72%. 5) The independent variable a contribution of 84.4% of the performance of teachers and 15.6% are influenced by other factors not discussed in this study.

<p><strong><em>Abstract</em></strong></p><p><em>The study aimed to prove positive correlation between pedagogical competence and classroom management skill to public elementary school teachers in Pacitan Sub-district and to measure the contribution of pedagogical competence and classroom management skill to elementary school teachers in Pacitan Sub-district. It was correlational quantitative method. The population were 222 elementary school teachers of first to sixth grade and the samples were 144 teachers. Data collection techniques used questionnaire. The prerequisite test used linearity and normality tests. Data analysis used a simple correlation test and adjusted R square. The results showed that there was positive correlation between pedagogical competence and classroom management skill. The correlation value was </em>0,335 and it indicated as moderate correlation. <em>Pedagogical competence contributed 11.2% on classroom management skill. High pedagogical competence was closely related to how teachers:  understanding student characteristics, understanding theories and learning principles, developing curriculum, presenting enlightened learning, developing student potency, having good communication to students, and conducting evaluations and assessments measuring the success of learning process. Therefore, if teacher’s pedagogical competence was good, the classroom management would be maximized.</em></p>

This research aimed to determine the correlation between, (1) the understanding of effective sentence and writing skill in descriptive text; (2) the achievement motivation and writing skill in descriptive text; and (3) the understanding of effective sentence and achievement motivation toward writing skill in descriptive text. The research method used was a correlational survey. Population of the research is tenth grade students of Vocational High School of Surakarta with the sample consisted of 60 people were taken by simple random sampling for to analyze the data is statistic regression and correlation technique. The result of this study shows that: (1) there is a positive correlation between the understanding of effective sentence and writing skill in descriptive on google classroom; (2) there is a positive correlation between achievement motivation and writing skill in descriptive text on google classroom; and (3) there is positive correlation between the understanding of effective sentence and achievement motivation toward writing skill in descriptive text on google classroom. Considering the result of research, it can be conclude that understanding of effective sentence and achievement motivation are important factors that can improve student’s writing skill in descriptive text, however achievement motivation has bigger contribution than the understanding of effective sentence.
