This research was an ex-post facto with correlational analysis that aimed to analyze and testing the level of numerical ability and critical  thinking  skill was achieved by  the students of X class at SMA Negeri 8 in Gowa and the relationship between the two variables. Population this research were all students of X class at SMA Negeri 8 in Gowa, the sampling technique was random sampling obtained 92 respondens. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis included normality test, linearity test and the correlation of product moment test. Based on this research, it can be concluded that the level of numerical ability of students were in medium category, the level of critical thinking skill was in low category and there was positive and significant correlation between numerical ability and critical thinking skill of students of classes X class SMA Negeri 8 in Gowa.Keywords: numerical ability, critical thinking skillsPenelitian ini merupakan penelitian ex-post facto yang bersifat analisis korelasional yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan menguji tingkat kemampuan numerik dan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis yang dicapai peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 8 Gowa, serta hubungan antara kedua variabel tersebut. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 8 Gowa, sampel penelitian diambil secara acak dengan teknik random sampling sebanyak 92 responden. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis statistik deskiptif dan analisis statistik inferensial yang meliputi uji normalitas, uji linearitas dan uji korelasi product moment. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat kemampuan numerik peserta didik berada dalam kategori sedang, tingkat keterampilan berpikir kritis berada dalam kategori rendah, dan terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kemampuan numerik dengan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada mata pelajaran fisika kelas X SMA Negeri 8 Gowa.Kata kunci: kemampuan numerik, keterampilan berpikir kritis

SMAN 5 Jember is a school that has received the Adiwiyata program predicate. Based on the phenomenon, students who have environmental knowledge do not necessarily have attitudes and behaviors that care about the environment. This is not in line with the school's goal of maintaining the status of a Adiwiyata school. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between environmental knowledge and environmental care and environmental care behavior among students of SMAN 5 Jember in the 2018-2019 academic year. This study uses a nonexperimental correlational quantitative approach using the ex post facto method. The population in this study were students of class X and XI, amounting to 480 students. The sampling technique used was proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Methods of data collection using observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis used Kendall's Tau Correlation. Based on the results of the research on the relationship between environmental knowledge and environmental care attitudes in students of SMAN 5 Jember, the results obtained were 0.000 < 0.05 so that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected, meaning that there was a significant relationship. The relationship between environmental knowledge and environmental care behavior results in 0.532> 0.05 so that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected, meaning that there is no significant relationship. Berdasarkan fenomena siswa yang memiliki pengetahuan lingkungan belum tentu memiliki sikap dan perilaku peduli lingkungan. Hal ini tidak selaras dengan tujuan sekolah mempertahankan status sekolah Adiwiyata. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan lingkungan dengan sikap peduli lingkungan dan perilaku peduli lingkungan pada siswa SMAN 5 Jember tahun pelajaran 2018-2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional non eksperimental menggunakan metode ex post facto. Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas X dan XIyang berjumlah 480 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan teknik sampling proportionate stratified random sampling. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, angket dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan Kendall’s Tau Correlation. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian hubungan pengetahuan lingkungan dengan sikap peduli lingkungan pada siswa SMAN 5 Jember diperoleh hasil 0,000 < 0,05 sehingga Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak artinya ada hubungan yang signifikan. Hubungan pengetahuan lingkungan dengan perilaku peduli lingkungan diperoleh hasil 0,532 > 0,05 sehingga Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak artinya tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara optimisme dan kontrol diri dengan coping stress terhadap tuntutan akademik pada mahasiswa S1 bimbingan dan konseling UNNES. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian ex post facto dengan sampel berjumlah 157 dari populasi 288 mahasiswa dengan teknik pengambilan sampel proportionate stratifed random sampling. Skala coping stress diadaptasi dari COPE, skala optimisme diadaptasi dari LOT-R, dan skala kontrol diri diadapatasi dari SCS, skala tersebut digu nakan dalam pengumpulan data dengan reliabilitas 0,940, 0,769, dan 0,937. Adapun teknik analisis data menggunakan regresi ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa antara optimisme dengan coping stress memiliki hubungan yang signifikan (R=0,529, f(1,155) = 60,101, p = <0,01), kemudian hubungan antara kontrol diri dengan coping stress juga memiliki hubungan yang signifikan (R=0,366, f(5,150) = 78,544, p = <0,01). Begitu pula antara optimisme dan kontrol diri dengan coping stress juga memiliki hubungan yang signifikan (R=0,892, f(2,155) = 298,581, p = <0,01).   Thia research aims to know the relationship between optimism and self control with respect to coping stress academic coping stress in undergraduate student guidance and counseling UNNES. This research is an ex postfacto research with a sample of 157 of the population amounted to 288 students with technique of sampling proportionate stratified random sampling. The scale of coping stress in the adaption of the COPE, the scale of optimism in the adaption of the LOT-R, and the scale of self control in the adaption SCS, the scale used in the collection of data with reliability 0,940, 0,769 and 0,937. As for the analysis techniques using double regression. Results of the study showed that between optimism coping stress have a significant relationship (R= 0,529 f(1,555)= 60,101, p =<0,01) then the relationship between coping stress with self control also has a significant relationship (R= 0,366, f(5,150) = 78,544, p=<0,01). Similarly, between optimism and self control with coping stress also has a significant relationship (R= 0,892, f(2,155)= 289,581, p=<0,01).

This study assessed the demographic characteristics of students’ performance in Mathematics in senior secondary Certificate Examination in Delta Central Senatorial District of Delta State. The purpose of the study is to assess the relationship between gender, location, socio-economic status and students’ performance in Mathematics in Senior Secondary Certificate Examination. The ex-post facto research design was used for the study. The population of the study is 15,170 SS3. A sample of 759 students was randomly selected from the total population using simple random sampling technique of balloting and stratified random sampling technique. Four research questions and four hypotheses were raised to guide the study. The instrument used for the study was a 40-item multiple choice senior secondary Mathematics Achievement test (SSMAT). Multiple regressions were used for the analysis. The study established that gender and socio-economic status contributed to students’ performance in Mathematics in senior secondary certificate examination. Recommendation was made based on the findings of the study.

Penelitian ini  bertujuan  untuk mengungkapkan hubungan minat membaca, fasilitas orang tua, dan pemberian tugas membaca di sekolah dengan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas VIII SMP negeri di Kabupaten Brebes. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian  ex post facto dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN Negeri di Kabupaten Brebes. Sampel ditentukan lewat teknik stratified random sampling berdasarkan nilai akreditasi sekolah A, B, dan C. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Uji prasyarat dilakukan dengan uji normalitas, linieritas, dan homogenitas. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan analisis korelasi sederhana, korelasi parsial, dan korelasi ganda. Hasil penelitian ini adalah minat membaca (X1), fasilitas orang tua (X2), dan pemberian tugas membaca di sekolah (X3) berhubungan positif dan signifikan dengan kemampuan membaca pemahaman (Y) pada siswa kelas VIII SMP negeri di Kabupaten Brebes (ry1-23=0,294, ry2-13=0,302, ry3-12=0,255, Ry-123= 0,489). This was an ex post facto research with the population of all eighth grade students in Brebes Regency. The samples were determined by a stratified random sampling technique based on school accreditation strata of A, B and C. Data was analyzed using a descriptive analysis. The pre-condition test was conducted by normality, linearit, and homogeneity tests. The hypothesis examination was conducted by a simple correlation, partial correlation, and multiple correlations. This research result was  interest in reading (X1), parents’ facilities (X2) and giving task of reading in school (X3) jointly positively and significantly related to the reading comprehension (Y) in the students of the eighth grade of State Junior High School (SMP) in Brebes Regency (ry1-23=0,294, ry2-13=0,302, ry3-12=0,255, Ry-123= 0,489). This study investigated the relationship between library services and the availability of information resources in federal university libraries, in South-South, Nigeria. To achieve the purpose of this study, two research questions were raised and two hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The ex-post facto research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study was 16620 students and a sample of 800 respondents was selected for the study. The selection was done through the stratified and purposive random sampling technique. The results of the analyses revealed a significant relationship between user education and preservation of information resources and availability of information resources. Based on these findings, it was recommended, among others that: User education should be adequately given to students to enable them to make the most use of the information resources and Government should prioritize funding for the preservation of information resources for university libraries.

Scientific literacy and critical thinking skill are the considerable 21st century competencies must be owned by nowadays students. This study aimed at determining the correlation among three variables i.e. critical thinking skill, motivation, and scientific literacy possessed by high school students. The research used a quantitative approach to explore the correlation among variables observed. The total sample were 124 of X MIPA graders selected using the simple random sampling technique. The data collection was carried out by providing test instruments to measure students’ critical thinking skill, motivation, and scientific literacy. The all variables then were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that (1) there was a positive correlation between the critical thinking skill and scientific literacy (11.83%), (2) there was no significant correlation between motivation and scientific literacy, and (3) the both predictors (i.e. critical thinking skill and motivation) were able to predict the criterion (scientific literacy) (22.56%). It is suggested to optimize students’ critical thinking skill and motivation to sharpen students’ scientific literacy.

This is a qualitative study trying to find out the students’ ability in applying the critical thinking skill while doing the TOEFL ITP reading test. The student participants were 140 university students in one of the private universities in Indonesia. In order to find out the answer, this research was firstly done by looking at the relationship of critical thinking and reading comprehension skill and investigating the level of students’ reading ability by contrasting their reading score to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The study found out that there was an inseparable connection between the students’ critical thinking skill and reading competence and that majority of the student participants were very weak in critical thinking and reading competence skills and so placed at the bottom level of the CEFR.

To achieve the purpose of this study, two research questions were raised and two hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. Ex-post facto research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study was 16620 students and a sample of 800 respondents was awareness for the study. The awareness was done through the stratified and purposive random sampling technique. The results of the analyses revealed a significant relationship between awareness, acquisition and utilization of information resources. Based on these findings, it was recommended, among others that: Government should prioritize funding for the acquisition of information resources for university libraries

Penelitian ini memiliki empat tujuan. Tujuan pertama untuk mengetahui hubungan minat membaca terhadap keterampilan berpidato siswa, kedua hubungan penguasaan kosakata terhadap keterampilan berpidato siswa, ketiga hubungan nilai rapor terhadap keterampilan berpidato siswa, dan keempat hubungan minat membaca, penguasaan kosakata, dan nilai rapor terhadap keterampilan berpidato siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian ex post facto jenis korelasional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX SMP N di Kabupaten Magelang. Pengambilan data menggunakan cluster sampling (area sampling), stratified random sampling, dan cluster random sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, tes pilihan ganda, dokumentasi, dan tes pidato. Analisis data menggunakan teknik regresi sederhana dan regresi berganda. Hasil menunjukkan (1) minat membaca berhubungan dengan positif dan signifikan keterampilan berpidato, (2) penguasaan kosakata berhubungan dengan positif dan signifikan keterampilan berpidato, (3) nilai rapor berhubungan dengan positif dan signifikan keterampilan berpidato (4) minat membaca, penguasaan kosakata, dan nilai rapor secara bersama-sama berhubungan signifikan dengan keterampilan berpidato.Kata Kunci: minat membaca, penguasaan kosakata, nilai rapor, keterampilan berpidato  THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE READING INTEREST, VOCABULARY MASTERY, AND REPORT OF RESULT STUDY AND THE SPEECH DELIVERING SKILLS OF GRADE IX STUDENTS  ABSTRACTThe research has four purposes. The first objective to know the relationship between students’ reading interest and their speech delivering skills, second the relationship between students’ vocabulary mastery and their speech delivering skills, third the relationship between students’ report of result study and their speech delivering skills, and forth the relationship between students’ reading interest, vocabulary mastery, and report of result study as an aggregate and their speech delivering skills. This was an ex-post facto study correlational. The research population comprised Grade IX students of public junior high schools (JHSs) in Magelang Regency. The research sample was from three schools selected by means of the cluster sampling (area sampling), stratified random sampling, and cluster random sampling. Data collection using a questionnaire, multiple choice test, documentation, and speech delivering test. The data were analyzed by simple regression and multiple regression. The results of the study show that: (1) the reading interest has a significant positive relationship with the speech delivering skills, (2) the vocabulary mastery has a significant positive relationship with the speech delivering skills, (3) the report of result study have a significant positive relationship with the speech delivering skills, and (4) the reading interest, vocabulary mastery, and report of result study as an aggregate have a significant relationship with the speech delivering skills.Keywords: reading interest, vocabulary mastery, report of result study, speech delivering skills

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas pembelajaran IPA berbasis potensi lokal Jepara untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMPN 1 Bangsri Jepara. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi ekspreimen dengan cluster random sampling dan pretest-posttest control group design. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah RPP dan LKPD berbasis potensi lokal Jepara serta soal keterampilan berpikir kritis yang telah valid melalui validasi ahli, praktisi dan teman sejawat. Aktivitas pembelajaran IPA pada penelitian ini memungkinkan peserta didik memperoleh pengalaman secara langsung melalui interaksi dengan pelaku wirausaha pembuatan gerabah dan mebel Jepara sebagai bagian potensi lokal Jepara yang berkaitan dengan materi pembelajaran IPA. Hal ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam menyambut era globalisasi saat ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pembelajaran IPA berbasis potensi lokal Jepara efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMPN 1 Bangsri Jepara. The mothods of research is quasi-experiment with the cluster random sampling and pretest-posttest control group design. Instruments of the research are lesson plan, student worksheet, and critical thinking skill test which have been valid through the expert, teacher, and peers validation. The science learning activity of this research makes students gain the experience directly through interaction with entrepreneurs of making pottery and furniture as part of Jepara’s local potential that related to science subject. It is expected to improve critical thinking skill of students to commemorate globalization.  The result of the research is science teaching based on Jepara’s local potential effective to improve students’ critical thinking skill of SMPN 1 Bangsri Jepara.
