The management of used goods needs to be improved in order to reduce pollution and contamination. The largest source of waste comes from settlements, which 75% consists of organic waste and only 25% inorganic waste. Inorganic waste management is still very minimal. Inorganic waste is very difficult to degrade and cannot even be degraded at all naturally, therefore a very large area is needed to compensate for the production of this type of waste. One of the most common inorganic waste found in the community is a plastic straw. Plastic straws are a drinking aid that is only used occasionally and in turn, increases the amount of waste available. Plastic straw waste in Singkawang City is one of the elements causing pollution that is not easily broken down because it is made of inorganic plastic. Plastic straw waste in Indonesia reaches more than 93.2 million per day, because of its large potential, it would be better if this plastic waste is used as a product and creativity in order to organize plastic waste properly, so that plastic really supports people's economic life community.

Various environmental problems that have occurred lately are more or less caused by the problem of garbage and waste from various activities of living things, especially humans. Therefore, good waste management is one of the solutions to current environmental problems. One of the main problems faced by partners is plastic waste management. Based on a preliminary field study conducted by the team, it was found that until now there had been no waste management activities carried out by the residents of Baros Village, both plastic waste management related to waste banks and plastic waste sorting. In this regard, one of the innovative solutions for plastic waste management is to apply the circular economy principle by sorting plastic waste and then managing and developing it to create a circular economy, which is recycling plastic waste into a product of economic value, so that can help people's economic life. In this case, through a circular economy approach, karang taruna gets socialization of a circular economy as a foundation in managing plastic waste. The activity began with coordination with officials in Baros Village and the board of the Setia Youth Organization, pretest, counseling, and continued with a posttest. The implementation of outreach activities is carried out online and only involves the karang taruna administrators due to the COVID-19 pandemic condition. From the results of the activities carried out, members of the karang taruna understand the importance of managing plastic waste to make it a commodity with economic value.

<p>Waste management in the Dasan Agung Market in Mataram City still uses conventional patterns. This pattern is not in line with the NTB Province policy that launched the concept of zero waste in 2019-2023. One approach that can support the program is the 3R method of waste management. This study aims to develop a waste management plan using the 3R approach. The method used in this study is the observation method, which is observing the current conditions and measuring the generation and composition of waste. The technique of determining the sample and measurement time and the procedure refers to SNI-19-3964-1995. The results showed that the amount of solid waste generation in Dasan Agung Market was 2.7 m3 / day and the weight of solid waste was 467 kg / day. Waste composition was obtained by organic waste 52.60% and inorganic waste 47.40%. TPS 3R is planned with an area of 110 m2, namely 74 m2 for composting area and 36 m2 for sorting and handling inorganic waste, and residual waste. The composting system implemented is using the drum method with a capacity of 100 liters, a total of 307 pieces. Waste Management Planning using the 3R Approach is capable of handling 80% of the waste, and 20% of the residue is disposed of in the landfill.</p>

One of the uses of organic waste is processing it into biomass briquettes which can later be used as energy. Organic waste received is dry organic waste such as dry leaves, dry twigs, inorganic waste such as plastic waste which can be used as an adhesive in making waste biobriquettes. The purpose of processing organic and inorganic waste into energy is to benefit from the waste in the city of Jambi. The benefit obtained is to reduce waste which can be used as energy. The kerosene to LPG conversion program has resulted in a rapid increase in LPG consumption which domestic production cannot meet. This causes LPG imports to increase rapidly, so that if in 2007 the volume of LPG imports was still at 137 thousand tons, in 2011 it increased to 1,992 thousand tons or an increase of almost 15 times (Outlook Energi Indonesia 2013). The highest calorific value with the optimum composition is found in biobriquette sample 3 with a variation of the composition of 75% organic waste: 5% inorganic waste: 10% water: 10% glue, which is 19361 J / gr. The lowest ash content with the optimum composition was found in sample 3 with a variation of the composition of 75% organic waste: 5% inorganic waste: 10% water: 10% glue, namely 5.06%. The lowest water content with the optimum composition is found in sample 1 and sample 2 with a water content of 0.92%, this is already in accordance with SNI for biobriquettes. The lowest CO content with the optimum composition is found in the biobriquette sample 1 with a variation of the organic composition of 85%: 5% inorganic: 5% water: 5% glue, which is 60.33 μg/Nm3.

Waste management in Indonesia is still a problem that can not be handled properly. Waste reduction activities both in the community as waste producers and at the level of the area is still small, so the waste is disposed to the final processing place (TPA) while the landfill is very limited. Plastic waste is a waste that needs to be handled properly, because plastic waste is a waste that can not be broken down by microorganisms. Plastic waste can last for years causing environmental pollution. The design of a portable plastic waste counter machine aims to create a waste recycling tool, so that waste can be recycled into useful items and and create an environmental balance. To focus the manufacture of this crusher, the manufacture is limited to making non-organic waste composting machine design that is plastic waste. The design results are expected to be applied properly and can destroy the waste into granules so it can be reprocessed. The hope of this recycling process is to reduce the amount of plastic waste and make it an item that has economic value.
