Cookies atau kue kering merupakan salah satu jenis biskuit yang terbuat dari adonan lunak, berkadar lemak tinggi, relatif renyah bila dipatahkan dan bertekstur padat.Tepung yang digunakan dalam pembuatan cookies biasanya menggunakan tepung terigu, harga yang mahal dan merupakan komoditi impor maka harus dilakukan substitusi tepung terigu dengan tepung mocaf. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui retensi kadar gluten dan kadar air cookies substitusi tepung mocaf. mengenai kadar inulin, serat dan sifat organoleptik cookies sebagai alternatif produk pangan tinggi serat. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan satu faktor yang dicoba, yaitu proporsi tepung terigu dengan tepung mocaf yang terdiri dari 6 taraf yaitu: M1 = 100 : 0; M2 = 90 : 10; M3 = 80 : 20; M4 = 70 : 30; M5 = 60 : 40; M6 = 50 : 50. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) pada taraf keyakinan (level of confidence) 95% apabila menunjukkan pengaruh nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan’s (Duncan’s Multiple Range Test) dengan tingkat keyakianan 95%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa substitusi tepung mocaf berpengaruh terhadap kadar gluten (p<0,05) dan kadar air cookies (p<0,05). Retensi kadar glutendari produk cookies sebesar 88,477 - 94,802%.

The parts of the starfruit plant, namely the leaves and fruit of the starfruit, have the potential to be made into a functional drink. Efforts that have been developed to use the leaves and fruit of starfruit are herbal medicine. This study aims to determine the chemical properties (antioxidant capacity and tannin content), physical properties (color) and differences in the selling price of the herbal medicine for starfruit leaves with different leaf and fruit ratios. The research design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with a factor of different ratios between leaves and fruit with two repetitions. Data were analyzed using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance). If there are differences, then proceed with the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that the highest antioxidant capacity and tannin content of starfruit leaves were found in the ratio of 80 percent: 20 percent herbal medicine. The highest color brightness (L) is found in the herbal ratio 60 percent: 40 percent. The redness color (a -) is in the ratio 80 percent: 20 percent and the yellow color (b +) is the highest in the ratio of 60 percent: 40 percent herbal medicine. Bagian tanaman belimbing wuluh yaitu daun dan buah belimbing wuluh sangat berpotensi untuk dibuat minuman fungsional. Upaya yang dikembangkan untuk pemanfaatan daun dan buah belimbing wuluh adalah sebagai jamu. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui sifat kimia (kapasitas antioksidan dan kadar tanin), sifat fisik (warna) dan perbedaan harga jual jamu daun belimbing wuluh dengan rasio daun dan buah yang berbeda. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan faktor yaitu rasio yang berbeda antara daun dan buah dengan dua kali pengulangan. Data dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA (Analysis of Variance). Jika terdapat perbedaan, maka dilanjutkan dengan Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kapasitas antioksidan dan kadar tanin jamu daun belimbing wuluh tertinggi terdapat pada rasio jamu 80 persen: 20 persen. Kecerahan warna (L) tertinggi terdapat pada rasio jamu 60 persen: 40 persen. Warna kemerahan (a+) terdapat pada rasio 80 persen: 20 persen dan warna kuning (b+) tertinggi terdapat pada rasio jamu 60 persen: 40 persen.

Plants that can be used as pesticides are Gadung tubers. Gadung tubers contain cyanide acid to kill armyworm pests because they contain dioscorin toxins which can cause nervous disorders. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Gadung tuber extract (Dioscorea hispida) on Caterpillar mortality (Spodoptera exigua) in Shallot plants. This type of research is experimental research. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD). The sample used was 5 caterpillars (Spodoptera exigua) in each polybag with 5 repetitions for each concentration of Gadung tuber extract, namely 0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%, 2.0% and 2.5%, so the total Caterpillar used was 150 Caterpillars. Gadung tuber extraction was carried out by maceration method with methanol solvent. Data were analyzed using a one-way analysis of variance at the 95% significance level, followed by DMRT (Duncans Multiple Range Test). The results showed that the Gadung tuber extract had a significant effect on the mortality of caterpillars (Spodoptera exigua) because the F count was greater than the F table (45.40>2.62), and the DMRT test results showed that the optimal concentration of Gadung tuber extract was 2.5%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the extract of Gadung tuber (Dioscorea hispida) affects the mortality of Caterpillars (Spodoptera exigua) in Shallots (Allium cepa).

Effect of Acquisition of Cassava Flour With Differentcontributions to The Quality of Liquid Silage From The Heads of Vaname Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) ABSTRACT         Silage is a liquid product from the process of fermentation of grass, fish or waste that is used as a mixture of feed. Generally, silage is made from fish or fish waste. Fish silage is a liquid product made from the remnants of processed fishery products that are not utilized by humans without any other treatment except by acid or by bacterial inoculation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of cassava flour on sensory values (color and aroma) and proximate composition (water content, ash content, protein content, and pH) on the liquid silage of shrimp head. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of four treatments with a ratio of cassava flour and shrimp heads respectively: 10: 90% (P1), 20: 80% (P2), 30: 70% (P3) and 40: 60% (P4) and repeated three times. Data from observations were analyzed using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) and DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) tests, each at a 95% confidence level. The results obtained indicate that the use of cassava flour has a significant influence on the sensory value which includes the color and aroma of liquid shrimp silage. The P1 treatment showed a brownish-orange color and a typical silage aroma/odor without additional odor. Proximate composition of silage includes: water content 74.2% -82.6%, ash content 1.9% -3.2%, protein content 7.4% -11.9% and pH ranges from 4.3-5.4. Keywords: Silage, Vaname shrimp head (Litopenaeus vannamei), cassava flour, Sensory Test, Proximate Composition. ABSTRAKSilase merupakan produk cair hasil proses fermentasi rerumputan, ikan ataupun limbahnya yang digunakan sebagai campuran pakan. Umumnya silase terbuat dari ikan atau limbah ikan. Silase ikan adalah suatu produk cair yang dibuat dari sisa-sisa olahan hasil perikanan yang tidak dimanfaatkan oleh manusia tanpa perlakuan lain kecuali dengan asam atau dengan inokulasi bakteri. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui  pengaruh penggunaan tepung gaplek terhadap nilai sensori (warna dan aroma) dan komposisi proksimat (kadar air, kadar abu, kadar protein dan pH) pada silase cair kepala udang. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari empat perlakuan dengan perbandingan tepung gaplek dan kepala udang berturut-turut: 10:90% (P1), 20:80% (P2), 30:70% (P3) dan 40:60% (P4) dan ulangan sebanyak tiga kali. Data hasil pengamatan dianalisa menggunakan ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) dan uji DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) masing-masing pada taraf kepercayaan 95%. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan tepung gaplek memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap nilai sensori yang meliputi warna dan aroma silase cair kepala udang. Perlakuan P1 menunjukkkan warna jingga kecoklatan dan aroma/bau asam khas silase tanpa bau tambahan. Komposisi proksimat silase meliputi: kadar air 74,2%-82,6%, kadar abu 1,9%-3,2%, kadar protein 7,4%-11,9% dan pH berkisar 4,3-5,4.Kata kunci: Silase, Kepala udang vaname (Litopenaeus vannamei), Tepung gaplek, Uji Sensori dan Komposisi Proksimat

Chemical characteristics of Silage Flour from Tuna Fish Waste (Thunnus sp.) with cornflour additionABSTRACT         The purpose of this study was to determine the chemical characteristics and the effect of the addition of cornflour to tuna waste silage flour.  This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of four treatments, namely TS1 (5% addition to corn flour), TS2 (10% adding corn flour), TS3 (15% adding corn flour), TS4 (20% adding cornflour)  ) and repeat three times.  Data from observations were analyzed using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) at a level of 95%, if there is a real difference (P> 0.05) then a further test was performed with a DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) tests at a 95% level.  The results showed that the effect of adding cornflour to fish waste silage flour had a significant effect on the chemical content test value.  The results of the chemical test of the silage flour show water content between 10.4% -8.4%, ash content of 24.2% -7.9%, protein content of 47.5% -43.3%, and fat content of 4.6  % -2.1%. Keywords: Silage flour, tuna waste (Thunnus sp.), Cornflour and proximate composition.ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakteristik kimia  dan pengaruh penambahan tepung jagung pada tepung silase limbah ikan tuna. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari empat perlakuan yaitu perlakuan TS1 (5% penambahan tepung Jagung), TS2 (10% penambahan tepung jagung), TS3   (15% penambahan tepung jagung), TS4 (20% penambahan tepung jagung) dan ulangan sebanyak tiga kali. Data hasil pengamatan dianalisa menggunakan ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) pada taraf  95%, apabila terdapat beda nyata (P>0,05) maka dilakukan uji lanjut dengan uji DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) pada taraf nyata 95%. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh penambahan tepung jagung pada tepung silase limbah ikan memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap nilai uji kandungan kimia. Hasil uji kandungan kimia tepung silase menunjukkan kadar air antara 10,4%-8,4%, kadar abu 24,2%-7,9%, kadar protein 47,5%-43,3%, dan kadar lemak 4,6%-2,1%.Kata kunci: Tepung silase, limbah ikan tuna (Thunnus sp.), tepung jagung serta komposisi proksimat

ABSTRAK. Penelitian efek penambahan bentonit dalam proses pelleting terhadap total bakteri dan total fungi dari produk pellet limbah penetasan sebagai bahan pakan alternatif, telah dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Teknologi Pakan, Fakultas Peternakan dan Pertanian, Universitas Diponegoro. Penambahan bentonit pada proses pelleting diharapkan mengurangi total bakteri dan total fungi pada pellet olahan limbah penetasan, sehingga aman digunakan sebagai bahan pakan alternatif. Pada penelitian ini limbah penetasan yang berupa cangkang telur, telur infertile, telur gagal menetas, serta DOC afkir dan mati dihancurkan, dicampur dengan bentonit dan dibuat pellet, untuk kemudian dianalisis kandungan total bakteri dan total fungi pada produk pellet. Perlakuan bentonit dilakukan dengan aras 0, 2, 4 dan 6% (B/B). Penelitian dilakukan dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Data dianalisis dengan analisis ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan uji wilayah ganda Duncan untuk mengetahui perbedaan antar perlakuan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pemberian bentonit dari berbagai level berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01). Pemberian bentonit pada tingkat tertinggi (6%) mampu menekan total bakteri dan total fungi pada kisaran 105 cfu/g. Disimpulkan bahwa bentonit mampu menekan kandungan total bakteri dan total fungi pada produk pellet limbah penetasan. (Numbers of total bacteria and total fungi of hatchery waste pellets that made by adding bentonite) ABSTRACT. A Research about the effect of bentonite addition in the pelletizing process on total bacteria and total fungi of pellet product of hatchery waste as an alternative feedstuff, was done at Feed Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Diponegoro University. The addition of bentonite was expected to reduce the number of bacteria and fungi in the pellet product of hatchery waste, therefore, it could be used safely as an alternative feedstuff. In this experiment, the hatchery waste in the forms of eggshell, infertile eggs, un-hatched eggs, dead and culled DOC were blended, mixed with bentonite and pelleted,and then the number of total bacteria and total fungi of pellet was analyzed. The treatment was carried out with the level of bentonite i.e. 0, 2, 4 and 6% (w/w). Completely randomized design (CRD)was applied by 4 treatments and 5 replications of each. Data analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA), and followed by Duncan multiple range test (DMRT) to determine differences among the treatments. The results showed that administration of bentonite at various levels significantly affect the number of bacteria and fungi in the hatchery waste pellets (P <0.01). Administration of bentonite at the level of 6% shows the highest value on suppressing the content of total bacteria as well as fungi up to the range of total content 105cfu/g. In conclusion, the bentonite was able to suppress the total amount of bacteria and total fungi in the hatchery waste pellets.

Twenty goats were given a basal feed of Pennisetumpurpureum cv Mott (odot grass) and supplemented with protein-based feed ingredients namely calliandracalothyrsus and soybeanmeal (SBM). The proportion of calliandra feed substitution and soybeanmeal is T1 = odot grass (ad libitum) + 100% soybeanmeal; T2 = odot grass (ad libitum) + 25% calliandra + 75% soybeanmeal; T3 = odot grass (ad libitum) + 50% calliandra + 50% soybeanmeal; T4 = odot grass (ad libitum) + 75% calliandra + 25% soybeanmeal; and T5 = odot grass (ad libitum) + 100% calliandra. The amount of feed supplementation given is based on daily protein requirements (gram/DM) per day according to animal body weight. The feed given contained iso protein (CP) and iso energy (TDN) to determine the effect of substitution of soybeanmeal with calliandra The parameters observed were intake and nutrient digestibility of feed. Data obtained from the results of the study analyzed variance using a one-way analysis of variance, then if the results show significant differences, it will be analyzed further with Duncan's new multiple range test. The results showed that substitution of calliandra did not have a significant effect (P> 0.05) on nutrient intake (g/kg BB0,75/day), except for intake of ETN, it shows a significant effect (P< 0.05). Calliandra substitution had a significant effect (P<0.05) on feed nutrient digestibility, with the highest digestibility being T2 treatment (25% calliandra substitution).

The study compared the marginal accuracy of premade and cast abutments. Premade titanium, stainless steel, and gold abutments formed the control groups. Plastic abutments were cast in nickel-chromium, cobalt-chromium and grade IV titanium. The abutment/implant interface was analyzed. Analysis of variance and Duncan's multiple range test revealed no significant difference in mean marginal microgap between premade gold and titanium abutments and between premade stainless steel and cast titanium abutments. Statistically significant differences (P &lt; .001) were found among all other groups.

Kualitas madu yang baik harus memenuhi standar acuan yang ditetapkan pemerintah. Kualitas madu dapat dilihat dari kadar air, gula total, dan keasaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas madu lokal dari 5 desa di Kabupaten Temanggung. Preparasi uji kadar air dan gula total dengan metode refraktometri, serta kadar keasaman dengan metode titrasi asam-basa. Metode penentuan lokasi sampling penelitian menggunakan metode purposive sampling berdasarkan perbedaan wilayah geografi, yaitu madu randu dari Desa Nglorog, madu kaliandra dari Desa Kwadungan Jurang, madu randu dari Desa Kentengsari, madu karet dari Desa Medari, dan madu kopi dari Desa Rejosari. Parameter yang digunakan untuk nilai kadar air, gula total, dan keasaman mengacu pada standar yang ditetapkan pemerintah (SNI-2013). Analisis data kuantitatif kadar air, gula total, dan keasaman menggunakan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) dan Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa wilayah geografi yang berbeda pengaruh nyata pada kadar air, gula total, dan keasaman madu yang diteliti. Kualitas madu terbaik ditemukan  pada madu karet dari Desa Medari dengan kadar air 20,9%, kadar gula total 77,5%,dan kadar keasaman 34,59 ml NaOH/kg dimana nilainya mendekati nilai Standar Nilai Indonesia (SNI-2013) untuk madu. Kata kunci: madu, kadar air, kadar gula total, kadar keasaman

African eggplant is an important fruit and leafy vegetable in Africa. Heterosis over mid and better parents was estimated in eight crosses of eggplant involving eight pure lines in a field experiment in 2012 and 2013 cropping seasons. The experiment was laid out using a randomized complete block design with three replications. Collected data was subjected to analysis of variance and significant differences were further subjected to Duncan Multiple Range Test. The aim of this study was to identify superior hybrids that can be advanced in the eggplant breeding program for improved yield and related traits. Significant variation was observed among all traits measured for the parents and hybrids. The highest fruit number was observed in NHS10-40 and in NHS 10-71 x NHS 10-40 among the parents and hybrids respectively. The highest heterosis was recorded in the cross between NHS10-71 x NHS10-40.

Padi beras merah (Oryza sativa L. var. indica) merupakan salah satu pangan fungsional. Selain kaya karbohidrat, beras merah juga mengandung antosianin sebagai antioksidan yang bermanfaat untuk kesehatan manusia. Kendala budidaya padi merah saat ini adalah pertumbuhan dan produksi yang masih rendah. Pertumbuhan dan produktivitas padi yang rendah, antara lain dapat disebabkan oleh ketersediaan Silika (Si) yang rendah. Lahan pertanian di Indonesia banyak mengalami leaching sehingga Si yang tersedia di tanah sawah tidak banding lurus dengan kandungan totalnya. Silika merupakan unsur yang memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman khususnya kelompok Gramineae seperti padi. Silika dibutuhkan tanaman monokotil akumulator yang dapat mendukung pertumbuhan karena dapat memperbaiki proses fotosintesis. Aplikasi penggunaan silika saat ini dikembangkan dalam bentuk nanosilika karena langsung mencapai target, dan dibutuhkan dalam jumlah yang sedikit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh pupuk nanosilika terhadap pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan dan pola pertumbuhannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan perlakuan konsentrasi pupuk nanosilika yaitu: P0 (0ml/L), P1 (2,5ml/L), P2 (5ml/L), P3 (7,5ml/L), P4 (10ml/L). Parameter pertumbuhan yang diamati yaitu tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan dan pola pertambahan tinggi tanaman serta jumlah anakan dari 10-40 HST. Data dianalisis dengan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) pada taraf signifikansi 95%. Hasil penelitian yang didapat adalah perlakuan pupuk nanosilika P1-P4 memberikan hasil peningkatan tinggi tanaman dan jumlah anakan padi beras merah. Perlakuan P4 (10ml/L) memberikan pengaruh yang paling baik dan hasil tertinggi yaitu tinggi tanaman 106,40cm dan jumlah anakan 40,20 anakan. Pola pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman cenderung masih meningkat sampai 40 HST, namun pola pertumbuhan anakan vegetatif cenderung melambat pada 40 HST. Kata kunci : beras merah, pertumbuhan, nanosilika
