Stress is an individual's adaptive response to various external pressures or demands and produces a variety of disorders including physical, emotional and behavioral disorders. Final year students often experience feelings of stress so that it can interfere with concentration to attend lectures and can even hamper completing education in a timely manner. There are several ways of managing stress, one of which is using aromatherapy. Aromatherapy is a non-pharmacological therapy, which is a type of therapy that applies direct body contact and has a therapeutic effect that combines physiological effects, caused by massage on the body, with psychological effects, which are derived from essential oils. The general purpose of the study is to analyze the effect of aromatherapy on blood pressure and stress levels by using the Kessler Psychological Distress Scale in final semester students. The research method used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design approach, in 28 intervention groups, namely respondents who were given lavender aromatherapy massage and 28 respondents in the control group. The univariate analysis was conducted to show frequency distribution and bivariate analysis was conducted by independent sample T-test and dependent sample T-test. The results showed that there were significant differences in systolic blood pressure before and after the intervention in the intervention and the control group with a p-value of 0.01 < 0.05. Whereas the stress level variable found that there is no difference in stress levels in the intervention and the control group before and after the intervention with p-value 0.169> 0.05.

Background: Hypothyroidism is a common disease with a prevalence rate of 11% in India. It affects all organ systems in the body. Patients with hypothyroidism frequently have symptoms of fatigue and exercise intolerance. These symptoms could arise from a reduced pulmonary reserve, cardiac reserve or decreased muscle strength or increased muscle fatigue. This study aims to study the pulmonary function test in patients with hypothyroidism. Methods: This is a cross sectional study conducted on 100 patients divided into 2 groups (a) newly detected hypothyroids (b) normal control group. Cases were matched with controls in having similar environment exposure and age group. All patients had routine symptom and clinical assessment. Laboratory investigations such as complete blood picture, pulmonary function test, chest x ray and thyroid function test were done. Data was entered and analysed. Results: In this study conducted on 100 patients, case group had symptoms of easy fatiguability (36%), breathlessness (20%), menstrual abnormality (20%), weight gain (7%) and generalised body aches (5%). Mean FEV1 levels between cases and controls were 1.34 and 1.72 (p value 0.00), mean FVC were 1.88 and 2.09 (p value 0.114), FEV1/FVC ratio of 70.56, 81.98 respectively (p value 0.00). The distribution of PFT pattern was 32% obstructive, 28% mixed pattern and 22% restrictive pattern. Conclusions: This study shows that hypothyroidism causes significant decrease in FEV1 and FEV1/FVC ratio, thereby suggesting obstructive patterns of lung involvement .Therefore PFT can be used routinely as a screening test for all hypothyroid patients to detect early respiratory dysfunction and thereby optimise treatment especially in obese patients and patients with pre-existing lung disease as hypothyroidism adds to their respiratory dysfunction.

Hypertension is an increase in systolic blood pressure of more than 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure of more than 90 mmHg in two measurements with an interval of five minutes in moderate rest. Hypertensive disease can attack at any age, including the elderly. The sweet carambola (Averrhoa Carambola linn) is one of the traditional antihypertensive drugs, because it contains high potassium which is useful as a diuretic, maintaining the stability of the body electrolyte through the sodium potassium pump, reducing the amount of water and salt in the body and loosening the blood vessels, this condition helps the pressure drop blood. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving sweet starfruit juice to blood pressure in the elderly in the village of Lemah Putih Kec. Brati Kab. Grobogan. This research design is quasi experiment design with the randomized pre-test post-test control group design. The sample size is 30 respondents. The results showed that based on statistic t dependent test showed p value of intervention group at blood pressure of systole sebebsar 0.03, and diastole was 0.014 (p <0,05) hence Ho was rejected which mean in intervention group there was influence of sweet starfruit juice to elderly blood pressure with hypertension. While p value of control group at systole blood pressure was 0.786, and diastole was 0.953 (p> 0,05) so Ho was received which mean in the control group there was no effect of star fruit juice to blood pressure lansia with hypertension.
