In the world of education the utilization of information technology is something that must be implemented, one of which is the use of the internet which can be used as a medium for disseminating information. Informatic Study Program of Sumbawa University of Technology is a study program that has graduated many alumni, but so far there is no portal that can manage information regarding the whereabouts of its alumni. This causes the study program difficulties in getting the latest information of the alumni when needed. Therefore, in this research a website-based alumni information system was designed which aims to facilitate the Informatic Study Program of Sumbawa University of Technology in managing and searching for information related to alumni data. In building this system researchers used the PHP programming language with CodeIgniter Framework and MySQL as the database. Then for the development of this software is using Waterfall model. It is hoped that when this system is implemented it can be used by study programs and alumni in managing alumni information, making it easier and faster to conduct data collection and reporting of existing alumni data.

The world today is driven by an instant and easy lifestyle. This can be seen from the development of digital-based information technology so that information can be managed in real-time without human assistance by using an automated and sophisticated system. In this case, M-Banking can assist in accessing banking information and services quickly and easily. M-Banking users in the millennial generation of Mulawarman University are low. Therefore, the aim of this study is to analyze the barriers that prevent the millennial generation of Mulawarman University from adopting M-Banking by implementing Innovation Resistance Theory (IRT). This study uses a quantitative method approach through filling out a questionnaire online involving 155 millennial generation respondents at Mulawarman University to empirically test the innovation resilience model. The results showed that of the six barriers studied, value barriers, traditional barriers and image barriers had a negative effect on adoption intentions. This journal contributes by applying less learned perspectives through innovation resistance theory to assist banks in a deeper understanding of consumer behavior and perceptions and helping banks to develop solutions to increase the adoption rate of M-Banking itself.

The contents and interactivity of national library websites around the world is analysed. The study was confined to ninety nine selected national library websites. A checklist along with a data sheet was used as the tool for data collection and Microsoft Excel was used as the tool for data analysis. The analysis revealed that the websites have almost identical pattern of contents and interactivity. Majority of the websites used interactive applications. Facebook is the most preferred application followed by Twitter, RSS and blogs. The websites preferred extreme top right corner and extreme bottom right corner of their homepages to provide links to the applications and web objects. This paper examines the reasons why science fiction works are not popular in the last decades in Azerbaijan. The focus of this research is to determine whether there is a lack of science fiction novels in the market or low-quality of existing modern novels that leads to the unpopularity in the society. The data collection methods were conducting a survey among people and several interviews of literature experts. Libraries and bookshops, as well as school literature textbooks, were observed in the search of science fiction works, as well. The survey identified the reasons for the unpopularity of science fiction and the role of authors, works, libraries, and bookshops in this trend. The findings of the survey indicate that people still read and are involved in this genre and strongly prefer world classics rather than national. While observing Azerbaijan National Library, it was found out that in modern Azerbaijan literature there are enough books in this genre, which are not properly promoted by bookshops, social media, TV programs or school textbooks. Whereas, experts in this field indicated that the newly published novels are not engaging or appealing enough to be bought by a large audience. Additionally, it would be useful to include that science fiction is losing its prestige to the fantasy all over the world, including Azerbaijan. These results partially support earlier articles that describe science fiction as an unpopular genre in Azerbaijan in the XXI century, whereas this research claims that there are readable works, which need for more advancement.

This issue marks 50 years of Information Technology and Libraries. The scope and ever-accelerating pace of technological change over the five decades since Journal of Library Automation was launched in 1968 mirrors what the world at large has experienced. From “automating” existing services and functions a half century ago, libraries are now using technology to rethink, recreate, and reinvent services — often in areas that simply were in the realm of science fiction.
