Bananas are tropical fruit commodities that are very popular and have a high potential to be managed intensively and agribusiness oriented. Banana plants have many benefits for human needs so that they have high economic value. Bananas can play a role as food substitutes containing calories, protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals that are needed by the human body. The potential development of bananas is quite significant because it has broad adaptability to various agro-climate zones and has excellent potential for commercial growth as an export commodity. The market potential abroad is enormous and continues to increase.  The domestic market's potential also increased due to rising levels of income and quality of life. There are many obstacles to increasing domestic banana production. Besides, processed banana products have not optimally produced as a source of livelihood and community income. This PKM partner business group has prospective business potential to be developed, because the banana and processed banana-based market is enormous, both at local and national levels. The banana production business that has developed has not been economically productive due to various limitations and constraints on land availability. In such conditions, bananas have cultivated as inserted plants. However, these two farmer groups have the potential to be productive farmer groups. The introduction of shade-tolerant bananas can be a solution for increasing banana production on limited land through the intercropping system. While the introduction of improvements to the processing and packaging system of Dempok bananas can improve the added value and quality of the products produced

Banyuwangi Regency is one of the agricultural centers in East Java province and Indonesia. Mostly,Banyuwangi people work as farmers due to the fertil soil and wide amount of agricultural land in Banyuwangi . Thelarge number of people who work as farmers initiating the formation of farmer groups. One of the farmer groups in theSrono sub-district of Banyuwangi is the "Tan Selo 1" farmers group located in the village of Sukomaju and the "TanSelo 2" farmers group in Sukonatar village. The normal average price of one banana bunch in Banyuwangi is between50-60 thousand depending on the type and quality of bananas. Problems arise when the quantity of bananas in the marketarose, the price of 1 bunch of bananas decreases dramatically. The price of 1 bunch which is usually set at 50-60thousand drops drastically to only 20-30 thousand. This is certainly a problem for farmers in the Tan Selo group. The lackof knowledge of Tan Selo farmers about alternative variants of processed banana based products and the lack ofknowledge of the marketing strategies make it hard for the Tan Selo farmers to increase the economic value of bananaswhich have been used as an alternative income for farmers. Therefore, the solutions offered to overcome the problems offarmers include: equipping and improving farmers' knowledge about the variety of processed banana-based foods andtheir marketing strategies, conducting training to make variations on banana-based foods, conducting training oneffective marketing strategies. Overall, a series of community service programs were carried out perfectly as it expected. The percentage of participants' understanding in choosing high quality bananas is 85%, the percentage of participants’ability in processing banana-based foods is 86%, and percentage of participants who successfully sell processed foodproducts by utilizing online shopping sites is 70%

The use of packaging films containing natural preservative compounds attracts great attention for the quality improvement of seafood. Microalga spirulina (Spirulina platensis) represents a potential source of high added-value and preservative biocompounds. The goal of this study was to enhance the quality of refrigerated Atlantic mackerel (Scomber scombrus) by including a protein concentrate (PC) of spirulina in a gelatine-based film. Quality changes in fish muscle were monitored by microbial and chemical analyses throughout an 11-day refrigerated storage (4 °C). As a result of the presence of spirulina PC in the film, an antimicrobial effect (p < 0.05) was concluded as determined by comparative evolution of aerobes and psychrotrophs, while no effect (p > 0.05) was concluded for Enterobacteriaceae, proteolytics and lipolytics counts. Furthermore, a lower (p < 0.05) formation of trimethylamine and free fatty acids was detected. Lipid oxidation, measured by fluorescent compounds formation, also exhibited lower average values in fish corresponding to the batch containing spirulina concentrate. The preservative effects observed can be explained on the basis of the presence of antimicrobial and antioxidant compounds in the microalga concentrate. It is proposed that the current packaging system may constitute a novel and promising strategy to enhance the quality of commercial refrigerated fatty fish.

Chrysanthemum (Dendranthema grandiflora) is an ornamental plant that has high economic value, including flowers that are in great demand at domestic or abroad.  As cut flowers, chrysanthemums are used for decoration and flower arrangements at weddings, and for opening new offices.  The quality of cut flowers depends on the appearance and durability of freshness. Flowers with prime quality have a higher sale value compared to low-quality cut flowers. To maintain the quality of prime cut flowers still need to be implemented several treatments, especially when the flowers are ready to harvest to the consumers.  The handling of post-harvest chrysanthemums is an important factor that is inseparable from the stages of cultivation and greatly influences the selling value and added value that will be obtained by farmers and traders. The use of pulsing and holding liquid during display will extend the chrysanthemum vase life. By implementing post-harvest chrysanthemums in accordance with handling procedures (SOP), chrysanthemums will be obtained that can meet quality standards and can provide added value for farmers and flower traders

Sampali Village is an agricultural area that is very suitable for banana planting. Various types of bananas found in the village include Barangan, Kepok, Molen, Raja and banana Nangka . Banana shoots from harvested mother plants are used for development in new areas. Banana seedlings from the suckers appear healthy, but often these suckers die after 1-2 months of planting in new areas. This is because these bananas have been infected with fungal pathogen wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporm f. sp cubense and Ralstonia syzygii subsp. celebesensis causes of blood diseases. Both of these pathogens are the main cause of the low quality of banana seeds. The use of low-quality banana seedlings (sapling sources), high pest and disease attacks are the factors causing the reduced amount of banana planting land which results in low banana production in Sampali Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency. Banana farmer groups in the village of Sampali have never used and planted banana seedlings that were propagated by tissue culture. The objectives of the activity were: 1. Socialization and practice of propagation of banana seedlings from sucker . Mycorrhizal inoculant application when planting seedlings in a polybag. To increase the knowledge of farmer group members and also the  students of Agricukture Faculty,Universitas Medan Area the learning of banana propagation techniques is carried out in vitro at the Balai Benih Induk Hortikultura, Gedung Johor Medan . The method used to solve the above problems is the provision of material, the practice of making banana seedlings through the propagation of tillers and a visit to the Balai Benih Induk Hortikultura, Gedung Johor Medan. At the end of the activity, an increase in the knowledge and skills of participants in providing quality banana seeds is the source of banana propagation in the village Sampali

The necessity of conducting intensive forestry is becoming more and more obvious challenge, due primarily to its low profitability. To increase the economic value of forest resources and obtaining long-term competitive advantage requires creation of products with added value. One of the objectives of proper forestry management as the basis of the forestry sector is to increase qualitative productivity of plants in the process of intensive forest growing. This relates to the improvement in the quality and quantity of all trees and each tree individually, as well as the properties of manufactured wood, which serve as the main criterion of successful work in different forest sector (forestry, woodworking, furniture, pulp and paper industries). Indicators such as the presence of knots, wood density, fiber length, etc. affect the quality of the final product and its cost. To improve the quality of formed wood is possible through repeated pruning of branches selected for further growth of the target trees; and productivity and marketability of plantings increases as a result of regular, timely, ongoing, intensive thinning and fertilizer application. These three silvicultural rules make comprehensive care for the forest. Comprehensive care for pine plantations in our country is mainly connected with the names of the scientists of the scientific school of Professor S. N. Sennov. The study was performed in forest stands after conducting a walk-through logging and introduction of nitrogen fertilizers. Pruning was not provided. Advanced technology of integrated care aimed at obtaining large sawlogs of high-grade, plywood and high-profile ridges with a high content of branchless wood and it is in earlier formation of the stand (with a specific density and spatial distribution of trees) – by an intensive cut in young trees of the I class of age of artificial or natural origin. After thinnings it is planned to make 3-times cutting of branches up to a height of 6 m (every 5 years), thinning, and advance thinning and 3-4-times application of nitrogen fertilizers. Thinning and fertilization is alternated in such a way that they do not coincide in time. Best time for fertilizers is 2-3 years after felling.
