This research is based on a strong tendency in pesantren to consolidate institutional organizations, particularly on aspects of leadership and management. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods by reviewing the kiai leadership policy in the development of formal education at SMP IT Pondok Pesantren Tarbiyatul Ummah Muaro Jambi. The results showed that kiai policy in the development of formal education was carried out by adjusting the conditions of boarding schools and considering various ideas / suggestions to be mutually agreed upon. While in formulating its policy, kiai involves all administrators of educational institutions and gives authority to implement policies that have been decided. The implementation of the policy is socialized through meetings with institutions to strengthen the flow of information on the policies to be implemented.

This study aims to determine the implementation of the management and leadership of kiai Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor in order to continue to exist and even become a prototype of leadership and management of modern Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia. The study used descriptive qualitative methods which were carried out by collecting data obtained from documentation, observation and interviews, and supported by literature studies, both from books and journals. The results of the study show that the modernity of Pondok Gontor is seen in the implementation of management which is different from Islamic boarding schools in general. Gontor's management is carried out based on the principles of transparency and accountability as well as togetherness. Pondok Gontor adheres to a collective, democratic, and transformational leadership model. This leadership model is proven to be able to bring about change in every student and teacher to achieve high performance. Through its vision and mission, Pondok Gontor strives to produce strong and solid leaders, leaders who have a noble soul and philosophy of life, correct values and are involved in the totality of life in the boarding with high discipline.

Arabic language is often taught by Arabic educational institutions only as a tool to read religious texts, not as the function of language is to communicate. The purpose of this research is to show a new strategy of mastering comprehensive communicative Arabic language based on 4 language skills (maharat lughawiyyah), namely listening, speaking, reading, and writing integrally and not separately. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods, data collection is carried out through observation and interviews. The results of this study indicate weak language skills due to partial mastery strategies in Arabic. The conclusion of this study shows that the ability to communicate Arabic must be built on 4 language skills simultaneously, related, intact, integrated and not fragmented.

Management is one of the most important aspects of managing an institution / agency especially in educational institutions, so expect especially Islamic education institutions and boarding schools because it can not be separated when talking about Islamic education definitely a benchmark of all it is a boarding school education, history has proven that the embryo of formal education is education schools starting from the household, surau, mosques and public places, The new Islam began to grow rapidly after education was started in utakan even serve as doktrinisasi process. Inspirational relentless, berkaryapun always sure, Batsul masa'il, sorogan, mukhadloroh as the hallmark of learning as well as the evaluation process, so as to give birth to a reliable generations who are ready to solve all the problems that occur at this time. Thus the usefulness aspects of Islamic education outcomes can be felt from the ma-society down to the top, this is evidenced by the works of the scholars / clerics and students who continue to fortify themselves with berakhlakul karimah amidst the bustle of the current world developments.

Education is a very appropriate tool, especially in using dynamic and inclusive religious values for everyone in society. Educational institutions are the main basis for shaping religious values in creating harmony between religious communities, therefore the model of harmony between religious communities can be applied in various community contexts. The purpose of this paper is to determine the Harapan Bajulmati educational institution as a role model for harmony between religious communities in South Malang. While the method in this writing uses descriptive qualitative methods. The results of this study are a role model of harmony between religious communities with education through educational institutions as the main basis for developing models of harmony between religious communities by means of a humanist and persuasive approach. Pendidikan menjadi sarana yang sangat tepat, khususnya di dalam menggunakan nilai-nilai agama yang dinamis dan inklusif bagi setiap orang yang berada dalam masyarakat.  Lembaga pendidikan merupakan dasar utama dalam membentuk nilai-nilai agama dalam menciptakan kerukunan antar umat beragama oleh karena itu model kerukunan antar umat beragama bisa diterapakan dalam konteks masyarakat yang beragam. Tujuan dalam penulisan ini adalah untuk mengetahui lembaga pendidikan Harapan Bajulmati sebagai role model kerukunan antar umat beragama di Malang Selatan. Sedangkan metode dalam penulisan ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Adapun  hasil dalam penelitian ini adalah role model kerukunan antar umat beragama dengan edukasi melalui lembaga pendidikan sebagai basis utama dalam mengembangkan model kerukukunan antar umat beragama dengan cara pendekatan humanis dan persuatif.

<p class="KEYWORD">Multicultural Education in Islamic Boarding Schools teaches tolerance and openness in carrying out activities of daily living. This research was conducted at the Bina Insan Mulia (BIMA) boarding school using descriptive qualitative methods, as well as data collection techniques by interviewing, observing, documenting studies, and FGDs. The conclusions of this study are: (1) The values of Multicultural Islamic Education implemented at the BIMA Islamic Boarding School are sourced from books / books taught to students / students such as the book of Hadith al-Arba'in Nawawiyah, Safinah al-Najah, Fath al-Qarib , Ta'lim al-Mutaa'llim, Taysir al-Khalaq, and Riyadh al-Saliheen; (2) The application of multicultural values includes openness, humanity, tolerance, mutual assistance, justice, equality, brotherhood.</p><p class="KEYWORD"> </p><p class="KEYWORD"><strong>Abstrak</strong></p><p class="ABSTRACT">Pendidikan Multikultural di Pondok pesantren mengajarkan toleransi dan keterbukaan dalam melaksanakan aktifitas hidup sehari-hari. Penelitian ini dilakukan di pondok pesantren Bina Insan Mulia (BIMA) dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, serta teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara, observasi, studi dokumentasi, dan FGD. This paper aims to analyze students' moral decadence problems in school. Brawls, free sex and narcotics on students is evidence of school failure in building the religious character of students. One of the educational institutions that have succeeded in building the religious character of students is pesantren. This success was proven by a little reporting of deviant behaviour among santri. By using descriptive qualitative methods, researchers want to reveal the profile of public schools that not only excellent academic achievement but are also able to produce students who have a religious culture so as to avoid various deviant behaviours. The religious culture is formed through the internalization of the values of the pesantren, namely to incorporate Islamic values through habituation manifested in school programs like a pesantren. The implication of this study is to internalize the value of pesantren in schools that can shape the religious character of students. Students can avoid bad behaviour. Abstrak Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menelaah masalah dekadensi moral yang banyak dialami pelajar di sekolah. Tawuran, sex bebas, dan narkotika dikalangan pelajar merupakan wujud nyata kegagalan sekolah dalam membangun karakter religius siswa. Salah satu lembaga pendidikan yang dianggap berhasil membangun karakter religius siswa adalah pesantren. Keberhasilan tersebut terbukti dengan minimnya pemberitaan perilaku menyimpang dikalangan santri. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, peneliti hendak mengungkap profil sekolah umum yang tidak hanya unggul dalam prestasi akademik namun juga mampu mencetak siswa yang memiliki budaya religius sehingga terhindar dari berbagai perilaku menyimpang. Budaya religius tersebut terbentuk melalui internalisasi nilai-nilai kepesantrenan yakni menanamkan nilai-nilai Islam melalui pembiasaan yang diwujudkan dalam program-program sekolah layaknya sebuah pesantren. Implikasi dari studi ini adalah internalisasi nilai-nilai kepesantrenan di sekolah dapat membentuk karakter religius siswa sehingga dapat mencegah siswa dari perilaku menyimpang.

Ali Bin Abi Talib once said that children should be educated in accordance with the  development of the times. The Ali bin Abi Talib’s statement could be considered as his attention more to the development of human civilization. For that reason, there should be studies focused on the role of educational institutions in facing the challenges of the times. On this stand, the writer raises the existence of pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) for being considered to have been able to survive amid the onslaught of civilization increasingly obscuring cultural identity. In addition, this study also aims to identify and discuss the role of pesantren in the modern era. This is a literature study using a descriptive and exploratory approach. It can be concluded that pesantren are non-formal Islamic educational institutions. Pesantren have permanent and distictive methods and learning models. The purpose of pesantren education is the same as Islamic education in general, instilling a sense of virtue, familiarizing themselves with courtesy, preparing for a holy, sincere and honest life entirely. Pesantren could be seen from three aspects: (a) pesantren that are seen from facilities and infrastructures, (b) pesantren that are seen from disciplines taught, and (c) pesantren that are seen from the fields of knowledge.

AbstrakPola Strategi pengembangan Pondok Pesantren di Malangke, strategi pengembangan pesantren adalah cara atau srategi yang digunakan oleh wadah atau tempat guna proses suatu perubahan berencana yang memerlukan dukungan semua pihak, anatara lain Kepala, staff, guru, dan siswa dengan perubahan-perubahan itu diharapkan dapat mengembangkan dan meningkatkan lembaga pendidikan, yang memerlukan usaha jangka pendek, menengah, dan panjang guna menghadapi perubahan yang akan terjadi pada masa mendatang. Peluang dan tangan pengembangan Pesantren di Luwu Utara,  terdapat Undang-undang Nomor 20 tahun 2003 tentang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional, yang beberapa pasalnya menekankan penyelenggaraan pendidikan keagamaan, seperti, pasal 30 ayat (1) dan Peraturan Pemerintah (PP) Nomor 55 Tahun 2007 tentang Pendidikan Agama dan Pendidikan Keagamaan pada pasal 1 ayat (2) tentang Pendidikan Agama dan Pendidikan Keagamaan yang didalamnya secara tegas dikemukakan bahwa pondok pesantren menyelenggarakan pendidikan diniyah pada tingkat dasar dan menengah, tergolong dalam sub sistem pendidikan Nasional di Indonesia yang bertujuan untuk mencerdaskan bangsa, menjadikan manusia yang beriman dan bertaqwa kepada Tuhan yang Maha Esa, berakhlak mulia, sehat, berilmu, cakap, kreatif, mandiri dan menajdi warga negara yang demokratis serta bertanggung jawab. Sedangkan tantangan ada beberapa hambatan 1)Sistem kurikulum yang lebih modern, sehingga pesantren ketinggalan jauh dari sekolah umum, 2) Kurangnya anggaran dan sumber pendanaan disebabkan oleh kurang siswa. 3) adanya sebagian orang tua tidak tertarik menyekolahkan anak di sekolah Pesantren.Kata kunci:      Pengembangan, Pondok Pesantren As’addiyah.  AbstractThe pattern of the development of Islamic boarding schools in Malangke, the strategy of developing pesantren is the method or strategy used by the place or place for the process of planning changes that require the support of all parties, among others, the Head, staff, teachers and students are expected to develop and improving educational institutions, which require short, medium and long-term efforts to deal with changes that will occur in the future. Opportunities and hands for the development of Islamic boarding schools in North Luwu, there is Law Number 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System, some of which emphasize the implementation of religious education, such as article 30 paragraph (1) and Government Regulation (PP) Number 55 of 2007 concerning Education Religion and Religious Education in Article 1 paragraph (2) concerning Religious Education and Religious Education in which it is expressly stated that Islamic boarding schools conduct early childhood education at the elementary and secondary levels, belonging to the national education sub-system in Indonesia which aims to educate the nation, make humans who have faith and devotion to the Almighty God, are noble, healthy, knowledgeable, capable, creative, independent and become a democratic and responsible citizen. While the challenges are several obstacles 1) A more modern curriculum system, so that pesantren lag far behind public schools, 2) The lack of budgets and funding sources is caused by lack of students. 3) there are some parents who are not interested in sending their children to school in Islamic boarding schools.Keywords:        Development, As'addiyah Islamic Boarding School.
