Multicultural Value in the Traditional Islamic Boarding School, Bina Insan Mulia (BIMA), Cirebon, Indonesia

Multicultural Education in Islamic Boarding Schools teaches tolerance and openness in carrying out activities of daily living. This research was conducted at the Bina Insan Mulia (BIMA) boarding school using descriptive qualitative methods, as well as data collection techniques by interviewing, observing, documenting studies, and FGDs. The conclusions of this study are: (1) The values of Multicultural Islamic Education implemented at the BIMA Islamic Boarding School are sourced from books / books taught to students / students such as the book of Hadith al-Arba'in Nawawiyah, Safinah al-Najah, Fath al-Qarib , Ta'lim al-Mutaa'llim, Taysir al-Khalaq, and Riyadh al-Saliheen; (2) The application of multicultural values includes openness, humanity, tolerance, mutual assistance, justice, equality, brotherhood. AbstrakPendidikan Multikultural di Pondok pesantren mengajarkan toleransi dan keterbukaan dalam melaksanakan aktifitas hidup sehari-hari. Penelitian ini dilakukan di pondok pesantren Bina Insan Mulia (BIMA) dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, serta teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara, observasi, studi dokumentasi, dan FGD. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah: (1) Nilai-nilai Pendidikan Islam Multikultural yang diterapkan di Pondok pesantren BIMA bersumber dari kitab / buku yang diajarkan kepada murid / Santri seperti kitab Hadits al-Arba'in Nawawiyah, Safinah al-Najah, Fath al-Qarib, Ta'lim al-Mutaa'llim, Taysir al-Khalaq, dan Riyadh al-Shalihin; (2) Penerapan nilai-nilai multikultural tersebut meliputi keterbukaan, kemanusiaan, toleransi, saling membantu, keadilan, kesetaraan, persaudaraan.

This research aims to analyze the strategy of leaders in improving the quality of education in Zulhijjah Muara Bulian boarding school. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. Data collection is done through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, and verification. The results showed kiai has four roles, in improving the quality of education, namely educators, administrators, managers, and supervisors. Improving the quality of education is done by pursuing the welfare of teachers and contributing thought to the progress of the region and able to become cadres of scholars who will lead the ummah in the future by maintaining educational inputs, processes, and outputs.

This study aims to 1) determine the multicultural values planting model in Daar El Qolam Islamic Boarding School. 2) knowing the implementation of multicultural values found in Daar El Qolam Islamic Boarding School. 3) knowing the impact of planting and implementing multicultural values on the personality of students in the El Qolam Daar Islamic Boarding School. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. While the sources of research are leaders, Islamic boarding schools, head of care, head of worship, principals, teachers / teachers and students. Data collection techniques are done through interviews and observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques were performed using data collection, data reduction, data presentation and data inference. The findings in this study are the values of multicultural education found in Islamic Boarding Schools da el-Qolam are exemplary methods and methods of habituation. The impact of the cultivation of multicultural education is the growth of mutual tolerance, respect and acceptance of others, mutual cooperation is not hostile and not mutual there are conflicts due to differences in culture, ethnicity, language, customs. Hopefully this research is useful for Daar el-Qolam Islamic boarding school in particular and also beneficial for other educational institutions so that multicultural education can be implemented properly and correctly.

This study has a background and purpose, namely to find out and analyze why Islamic Boarding School Transformation can Improve Islamic Religious Education in Jambi Province. The research methodology used is qualitative with data collection instruments with observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study are the Transformation of Islamic Boarding Schools in Improving Islamic Education in Jambi Province (case study in the Sa'atuddaren Islamic boarding school in Jambi City, Al-Baqiyatush Shalihat Islamic boarding school in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency and Nurul Jalal Islamic Boarding School in Tebo district), which is to make Islamic boarding schools are bigger, contribute to Islamic education, quality output, student who are able to continue their education outside the Province and Overseas (Egypt, Yemen, Medina), and achieve provincial and national level achievements. The achievements were in the field of Musawatbaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ), among others; champion of tahfidzul quran, fahmil quran, quran syarhil, quran recitations, quran qhatil, hadrah, promising nazom and natsar. This study aims to reveal the innovation of modern pesantren education carried out by the Ta'mirul Islam Islamic boarding school based on the perspective of Imam Zarkasyi. The challenges of contemporary progress demand that Islamic boarding schools need to improve their education system, both in terms of institutions, curriculum and philosophy and goals. K.H Imam Zarkasyi is an educational figure who succeeded in laying the foundation of the pesantren education system, thus inspiring the Ta'mirul Islam Islamic boarding school to adopt its education system. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, in which data collection is carried out in several ways, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the Imam Zarkasyi education concept in the Ta'mirul Islam Islamic boarding school is carried out by integrating the Islamic education system and madrasah, integrating religious and general science, and cultivating the values of a life philosophy. In addition, the education system in Ta'mirul Islam can be used as a model for educational development in other pesantren.

Nurhakim *)Fakultas Agama Islam UMMABSTRACTThe study described Imam Zarkasyi’s reconstruction thought about Islamic boarding schoolreformation. The study aimed at exploring Zarkasyi’s thought to be implemented as Islamiceducation reformation model for Islamic society modernization. The limitations of the study wereZarkasyi’s curriculum, empowerment on organizational management, and ethics training in Islamicboarding school. The finding revealed in three main points. First, Zarkasyi’s believed that IslamicEducation curriculum were to cover both religious principles, and modern sciences as well. Thus,the students were expected to master both Arabic and English. Second, organizational and charity(wakaf) management required significant improvement to strengthen Islamic boarding schoolinstitution in accordance to modern principles. Third, Islamic education boarding schools were toemphasize on values of sincerity, simplicity, independence, solidarity, and freedom to raise theawareness of the ethics in Islamic education schools. This study aims to determine the implementation of the management and leadership of kiai Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor in order to continue to exist and even become a prototype of leadership and management of modern Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia. The study used descriptive qualitative methods which were carried out by collecting data obtained from documentation, observation and interviews, and supported by literature studies, both from books and journals. The results of the study show that the modernity of Pondok Gontor is seen in the implementation of management which is different from Islamic boarding schools in general. Gontor's management is carried out based on the principles of transparency and accountability as well as togetherness. Pondok Gontor adheres to a collective, democratic, and transformational leadership model. This leadership model is proven to be able to bring about change in every student and teacher to achieve high performance. Through its vision and mission, Pondok Gontor strives to produce strong and solid leaders, leaders who have a noble soul and philosophy of life, correct values and are involved in the totality of life in the boarding with high discipline.

The purpose of the research is to describe code mixing or billingualisme in communication among students of Al Hikmah Sukoharjo Islamic Boarding School. Daily conversation among students was analyzed as data of the research. This is descriptive qualitative study which use participant observation technique. technique of analysis was used by the researcher before, during, and after research in the field. This technique emphasize several stages namely data collection, data reduction, display data and conclusion. Data collection was obtained in two weeks then classified into sub category then drawn conclusion. The findings showed that some code mixings were used by students frequently were Javannese, Indonesia and arabic. The findings showed that billingualism wudu consists of 1) word insertion, 2) phrases insertion, 3) clauses insertion, and 4) idiom insertion.The main factor in using billingualism in communication among students is multicultural, education level of speaker and purpose of speech. Language is a human interaction tool to facilitate humans to communicate with one another, language also has benefits that are very important for life as an introduction in the world of education. But what happens, the fact is that at the moment in carrying out group guidance conducted by some people, they have not been able to use good and correct grammar, but have already behaved politely when communicating with other interlocutors and some people still assume that when communicating only requires language simple or improvised. This study aims to teach that people need to apply true and wise communication, especially in the use of good and correct language systems when conducting group guidance. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods that refer to data collection, data analysis, interpretation of the data concerned with the situation. The results of this study indicate that in conducting group counseling they have not been able to apply good and correct language but have applied good manners. This research has various benefits, namely making people able to understand and realize that the importance of communication when guidance uses good and correct language so that it is easy to understand and easily accepted.

This study aims to see the potential of students in digital literacy transformation entering the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 at the Modern Muhammadiyah Boarding School Sleman Islamic Boarding School, Yogyakarta. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through observation and interviews with 10 students. The results of this study found that students have mastered the technology of digital literacy transformation of students in the potential of mastering digital literacy. This is because Islamic boarding schools still limit the length of time they use technology. Although this pesantren has used modern pesantren. Pesantren leaders must balance religious education with technology so that graduates are not less competitive when they enter tertiary institutions and the world of work. For future researchers, it will be deeper in digging up information and using more samples.
