This article is triggered by the emergence of ethnicity aspects in Indonesian literature. The importance of ethnicity in Indonesian literature is because Indonesian literature is assumed to be plural, not singular. That is, the reality of Indonesia in Indonesian literature is not limited to one ethnicity, but various ethnicities. In the perspective of modern Indonesian literature, Indonesian novels are synonymous with Malay, Jakarta, Java and several other cities that have contributed to the development of Indonesian literature. In the perspective of ethnic Indonesian literature, Indonesian novels are identical with ethnicities whose existence is ignored in modern Indonesian literature. In this context, ethnic Indonesian literature is important to explore. This article explores the interesting representation of Lombok in Ethnic Indonesian literature. Lombok serves an ethnic that needs to be analyzed in Indonesian literature, because Lombok is assumed to be part of Java (Marrison, 1999; Meij 2011) and Lombok is hegemonyed in Java (Satrya, 2018). The problem is whether Indonesian literature still represents Lombok as shown by Marrison, Meij, and Satrya in the study of philology and literature. The Indonesian novel of Lombok delineating the issue of Java in interpreting Lombok is the novel Kenari Mentaram (2013) by Salman Faris. This article applies Stuart Hall�s representation theory and model. Based on that theory, the novel Kenari Mentaram is assumed to be a production of meaning regarding Lombok. The analytical method uses the semiotic analysis method and the Stuart Hall discourse model. Lombok is interpreted in the novel Kenari Mentaram in the context of internationalization. In this context, Lombok's art is the only commodity that can be sold. The art of Lombok represented is the art of Lombok which is capable of competing internationally by taking a model from Java. Thus, the internationalization of Lombok can only be done by taking the Javanese Model. In the� internationalization context, the discourse of Lombok art discussed is the multicultural art of Lombok. The Kenari Mentaram novel delineates as part of the discourse of the nationalization of Lombok in the context of Indonesian literature and the internationalization of Lombok in the context of tourism.

This analysis aims to describe and explain forms of monopoly religiosity using micro, meso, and macro text analysis of Norman Fairclough's critical discourse model in the novel Tuhan Maha Asyik 2 by Sujiwo Tejo and DR. Muhammad Nursamad Kamba. This analysis uses a descriptive-analytical method with the object of research in the form of the power of certain groups over religion in the novel Tuhan Maha Asyik 2. The data collection technique in this analysis is documentation. The technique used to analyze the data using the flow model (flow model) Miles and Huberman. The source of the data used comes from the text of the novel Tuhan Maha Asyik 2 by Sujiwo Tejo and DR. Muhammad Nursamad Kamba 366 pages thick. The results of the analysis from the micro, meso, and macro levels show that there are forms of the monopoly of religiosity that are perpetuated by certain groups in society that require personal interests under the guise of religion. Certain groups monopolize religion, then God is ridden to legitimize political desires under the guise of religion, armed with the puncture of words on the pulpit. These sad messages were presented by Sujiwo Tejo and Dr Muhammad Nursamad Kamba in the sequel Tuhan Maha Asyik 2.

Snow Flower and The Secret Fan is one type of fiction novel written by Lisa See in 2005. Snow Flower and The Secret Fan tells about the lives of Chinese women in the nineteenth century where women's position was lower than men. In that era, there was a tradition that required women to tie their legs when they were young then caused them to endure unbearable pain because of a leg tie. By tying their legs, they can get married and improve their social status and bring them to a better life. Legs bound are to be sexually pleasure for men to achieve sexual satisfaction. In addition, in that era women were not permitted to get education like men. This problem was the impact of the Patriarchal culture. In the Patriarchal culture, there is a Confucian teaching that is used as a way of life for Chinese people. The teaching requires women to obey men: Father, husband, and later their sons. Therefore, Chinese women live as a second-class. In conducting this research, the author uses Representation Theory by Stuart Hall. Research shows that female oppression is clearly illustrated in the novel through a leg tie. Lisa See realistically describes the real conditions of women's oppression in China in the Snow Flower novel and The Secret Fan.

This research aims to explore the signs that represent the millennial generation cross culture in the film My Generation (2017) by Upi Avianto. This film, shows the dynamics of life for generations of millennials in the era of technological development. Unlike teen films in general, this film dares to portray the reality of a teenager's life from the results of two years of director research through social media. So that the film portrays the cross-culture of the millennial generation with what is positive and negative. With Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis method and qualitative descriptive approach and constructivist paradigm. The theory used by researchers is the Representation theory of Stuart Hall. From this research shows the millennial cross culture is represented by various scenes that describe habits and characters that are different from the previous generation. Millennial generation's cross culture is shown in differences in social norms which do not care about politeness values, millennial generation stereotypes, differences in life perspectives that tend to be free or liberal, broader, open and courageous to show differences, and a strong and optimistic mindset.

Abstract: The present article sought to offer a semiotic analysis of Pinter’s The Caretaker’s characters as signifers in their own right. The article also aimed at studying the play’s dramatis personae as loci of multi-coded expressions, with a focus on the various modes of signifcation associated with them. Using semiotics as an analytical method, the author explored the linguistic and paralinguistic features of the characters’ discourses as signs in relation to the play’s pivotal themes, their kinesic and body expressions as indexical signs, as well as their distinctive proxemic behavior(s) onstage. Some attention was also given to the characters’ handling of stage props and the special meanings attached to them as replicators of character personality. The results of the discussion showed that using a semiotic approach to analyze The Caretaker’s characters can yield positive outcomes in terms of comprehensive analysis and interpretation of the characters as dynamic unities of interrelated sign-systems. <p>Abstract This paper is a study of Andreas Gursky’s photo Rhein II. In this study, the post-structural semiotic analysis method is used to interpret meaning based on signs on the Rhein II. The post-structural semiotic analysis becomes the basis for interpreting meanings using related references. In the study of Rhein II photo objects, visual text analysis is expected to provide positive benefits for the development of photography, especially academically. Rhein II is a photo by Andreas Gursky. In Rhein II’s photograph, a contemporary photo is presented as a multi-reality representation analyzed using the post-structural semiotic method. The object of research is interpreted as a text that has a layer of meaning that is squeezed out of its essence by semiotics. The deconstruction of the signification system in the visual element is identified by reading the structural postal semiotic theory codes: text analysis process, creation process. The results of semiotic extraction produce an interpretive study of Rhein II which is full of meaning.</p><p>Keyword: imagery, photography, semiotica</p><p>Abstrak Makalah ini merupakan kajian dari foto Rhein II karya Andreas Gursky. Dalam kajian ini digunakan metode analisis semiotika post struktural untuk menginterpretasikan makna berdasarkan tanda-tanda pada Rhein. Analisis semiotika post struktural menjadi landasan dalam menginterpretasikan makna-makna dengan menggunakan referensi terkait. analisis teks visual, dalam kajian objek foto Rhein II diharapkan dapat memberikan kebermanfaatan yang positif bagi perkembangan fotografi khususnya secara akademis. Rhein II adalah foto karya Andreas Gursky. Dalam karya Rhein II, sebuah foto kontemporer dihadirkan sebagai representasi multi realitas yang dianalisis menggunakan metode semiotika post struktural. Objek penelitian dimaknai sebagai teks yang memiliki lapisan makna yang terperas esensinya oleh semiotika. Dekonstruksi sistem penandaan dalam elemen visual diidentifikasikan dengan pembacaan kode-kode teori semiotika pos struktural. Proses analisis teks, proses penciptaan. Hasil ekstraksi semiotika menghasilkan kajian interpretatif Rhein II yang sarat makna.</p><p>Kata kunci: citra imaji, fotografi, semiotika</p>

In a literary work, two characters can be narrated as the attention center that contains the cultural identity from certain generation. Meanwhile, a symbol actually can cause an interaction within characters. This research discusses about cultural identity and symbolic interactionism reflected in a novel. There is a novel entitled “Recipe for a Perfect Wife” by Karma Brown that tells about two female characters that are represented as a housewife from different generation. This research uses descriptive qualitative as the research methodology and content  analysis as the method in analyzing the object of the research, a novel entitled “Recipe for a Perfect Wife”. This research also uses the intrinsic approach to analyze the characterization, plot, and setting. This research reveals two kinds of a housewife. They are a housewife and working woman, and a full-housewife. This research finds five cultural identities in the past and present time that is related with a housewife reflected by two female characters in the novel by using cultural identity theory by Stuart Hall. This research also reveals the symbol and memory even three concepts of symbolic interactionism that is mind, self, and society based on symbolic interactionism theory by George Herbert Mead.

Abstract This article reports on the development of usability engineering recommendations for next-generation integrated interoperable medical devices. A model-based hazard analysis method is used to reason about possible design anomalies in interoperability functions that could lead to use errors. Design recommendations are identified that can mitigate design problems. An example application of the method is presented based on an integrated medical system prototype for postoperative care. The AAMI/UL technical committee used the results of the described analysis to inform the creation of the Interoperability Usability Concepts, Annex J, which is included in the first edition of the new ANSI/AAMI/UL 2800-1:2019 standard on medical device interoperability. The presented work is valuable to experts developing future revisions of the interoperability standard, as it documents key aspects of the analysis method used to create part of the standard. The contribution is also valuable to manufacturers, as it demonstrates how to perform a model-based analysis of use-related aspects of a medical system at the early stages of development, when a concrete implementation of the system is not yet available.

The article studies the poetics of the contemporary writer Yuriy Buyda in the context of the contemporary Russian short story. The analysis of historically specific forms of Buyda’s cyclization is considered as part of the general tasks of historical poetics in studying the evolution of literary forms. Structural and semiotic analysis of the writer’s works reveals that his prose forms peculiar cycles-clusters, ‘archipelagos’, where a cycle of stories appears to be related to novels. This connection is primarily determined by the setting, but also by recurring heroes and a specific – cumulative rather than cyclical – plot that traces its origin to myth. Through the example of one such cluster of texts – the cycles Zhungli, Gates of Zhungli (Vrata Zhungley) (2011), Lions and Lilies (L’vy i Lilii) (2013), the novel Blue Blood (Sinyaya krov’) and related works – the paper investigates the nature and logic of the depicted world, the mechanisms of its intra-textual connections, as well as the genesis due to both the nature of the author’s artistic thinking and the social, historical and literary, biographical context. Thus, we can observe a tendency of transcending the genre boundaries of a story or novel in favor of hypertext rhizomatic formations – based on mythologizing strategies. These features correlate with the general interest of contemporary Russian literature in collections of short stories, on the one hand, and the contemporary novel’s leaning to disintegration of a single narrative and fragmentation, on the other. It is possible that the tendencies toward hypertext strategies for text generation are determined by the general properties of modern thinking and social communication since today the social morphology of society is built in the form of networks.

Chicken broiler is the main commodities  and largest in Indonesia, where Kampar district into production centre in the province of Riau. According to the company's partners, breeder who partnered with the pattern contract farming hasn't been able to combine the use of livestock production facilities as well as labor. This resulted in not maximizing the profits obtained by breeders. The purpose of the research was to analyze broiler chicken farming and analyze the efficiency of broiler chicken production. Analytical method used is the analysis method of broiler chicken flocks and the DEA method. Respondents needed is 40 farmers who have partnered with the contract farming pattern. The results showed that the production costs of Rp.180.031.229 /period, revenue Rp.203.573.865/period, so that the profit amounting to Rp 23.542.636/period with R/C ratio of 1.13. The results of the efficiency analysis show that inefficient farmers are more numerous than those who have been efficient. It showed breeders hasn't been able to use the minimum input produce output that is optimal and maximum profit.
