Since the enactment of decentralization of education, maximizing the role of school and community stakeholders has become very important in supporting the success of the education process in schools. The actualization form of education decentralization is realized by the existence of school committees which are expected to carry out their roles maximally in improving the quality of education. With the aspect seen, namely the role of the school committee as consideration, support, control, and role as mediator, the role is as a form of improving the quality of education in accordance with the mandate stated in the Minister of National Education Decree Number: 044 / U / 2002 dated April 2, 2002 Therefore, with regard to efforts to improve the quality of education, the government has actually issued a policy namely education autonomy. Educational autonomy as a form of education decentralization, gave birth to an important concept for the implementation of education. One of these important concepts is School-Based Management (SBM) which later gave birth to the School Committee as a manifestation of community participation in the world of education. The concept encourages school and community committees to become unified and complementary, and can even provide a color for the formulation of quality in schools. Society is an unequaled educational resource for education units. In community schools can be a foundation for improving and service quality education in the implementation of education.

The lack of the role of the school committee in education makes it a school partner to improve its management. Because it is clear in Law number 20 of 2003 concerning National Education System article 56 paragraph 3 that the school council approves in improving the quality of assistance by providing, directives and support for labor, facilities and infrastructure, and supervision of education at the education level. This paper is a literature study that uses documents related to schools and education suppliers as sources of data and analyzed using qualitative descriptive. Reconstruction of the management of the committee through improvements to the planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the work program of the school committee and education unit. In addition, training and guidance for school committees also requires building good communication and cooperation between the school committee, the government and other parties. That way it is expected to increase the strategic role of schools in improving the quality of education.

<p>Educational infrastructure is essential in supporting the improvement of the quality of education in schools. This is because the existence of infrastructure facilities facilitate educational activities so that the educational process in schools is not hampered. Provision and maintenance of infrastructure in schools is the responsibility of all school stakeholders including the school committee. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the influence of school committees in improving the quality of educational facilities in SMK 1 Karangan, East Kutai Regency. By using population techniques, there were 15 research subjects and committee members of the Karangan 1 SMKN East Kutai Regency. The research measure is the scale of the role of the school committee in improving educational infrastructure. The results showed that the influence of the school committee was very important in improving the quality of educational infrastructure, it can be shown from the Tstatistic of 11.756 which was greater than Ttable 2.1788, the value of Fstatistic is 138.389 that was greater than Ftable 4.67, and an R-square value of 0.914 or 91.4%. These results showed that the role of the school committee has a major effect on improving the quality of educational infrastructure.</p>

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan peran komite sekolah dalam upaya peningkatan mutu pendidikan di SMP Negeri 1 Surakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data wawancara mendalam. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik analisis data kualitatif model Miles & Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa disfungsi tugas komite sekolah sebagai penindaklanjut aspirasi masyarakat tidak mempengaruhi turunnya mutu pendidikan di SMP Negeri 1 Surakarta. Hal ini karena perangkat pendidikan SMP Negeri 1 Surakarta sebagai sebuah sistem sosial bersifat otopoietik yang dapat memperbaharui ketidakberfungsian pada salah satu atau beberapa subsistem pendidikan. This paper aims to describe the role of school committees in efforts to improve the quality of education. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with in-depth interview data collection techniques. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman qualitative data analysis technique. The results showed that the role of the school committee was to improve quality, equity, and efficiency in the management of education in the education unit. Both in pre-school education, school education and out-of-school education. Indicator of Indonesian’s national development is the quality of education. Islamic school’s funding is an important instrument to improve access, quality, and competitiveness of educational institution. Islamic schools education funding source are joint responsibility of the government and the community. Community-sources funding is managed by the Islamic school committee and supervised by the internal supervisor. Moreover, the financial management was carried out with the following mechanism: submitting the proposal from the Islamic school to the committee, approving the proposal, disbursement process, and then reporting the agenda to the Islamic school committee. Therefore, the committee’s internal supervisor is controlled every 6 months. In addition, the following barriers come from the parents and student.

The purpose of this study is to see how the form of empowerment of school committees in improving the quality of education especially in elementary schools. The research method used is descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques namely observation, interviews, and documentation. Research findings The existence of a school committee is an important element in improving the quality of school education services, its existence with all the tasks and functions it has can play a role in realizing better quality education services. Efforts to empower school committees are carried out in various ways although they are still not ideal as stated in the regulations related to school committees. In principle, so far the participation of school committee members and the form of empowerment of school committees is still limited to routine meetings and the fulfillment of supporting facilities for student learning facilities that are done voluntarily by school committees. Based on this, the efforts to empower school committees have been made but are still limited to routine agendas that are not yet optimal as the actual duties and functions of school committees.

The existence of the board of education in the province of Jakarta is a form of responsibility and community participation in education. Board of education was positioned as a companion to the government, whose presence is expected to be a strategic partner between the public and the government in the management and organization of education. Duties and functions of the provincial board of education is to provide recommendations to the governor about the the access and quality of education services. As the forum community participation, DKI Jakarta provincial education boards also helped encourage accountability and transparency of the use of public funds with the organizers that the school education department and school committees in open access usage of school funds to the public

This study aims to find out the position and role of lecturers in carrying out the task of implementing the national education system and realizing the goals of national education. Lecturers are one of the determinants of the quality of education. The success of the implementation of higher education is largely determined by the readiness of the lecturer in preparing their students through teaching and learning activities or the learning process. The strategic position of lecturers to improve the quality of educational outcomes is strongly influenced by professional abilities in teaching and their level of welfare. To realize this; then the strategy of empowering lecturers is needed in order to realize professionalism that can be accounted for. The empowerment strategy implemented will be able to raise the dignity and level, improve the quality of learning, improve the quality of national education and provide quality services. Empowerment of lecturers is intended to create a work atmosphere or climate that leads to the development of potential, empowerment, and protection.
