The transformation of learning from offline to online modes due to the Covid-19 pandemic has affected students’ self-endurance in learning and the complexities of learning problems. Accordingly, this study was oriented towards investigating IAIN Curup students’ self-endurance and the problems they faced during online learning. Grounded in a qualitative method, this study incorporated 20 IAIN Curup students selected purposively as the participants. They were interviewed on the basis of the study’s foci. The data of interviews were analyzed using an interactive model. The findings demonstrated weak students’ self-endurance in online learning. Psychologically, they felt under pressure. Physically, their eyes’ condition got worse, and a few of them suffered from headache. They were psychologically bored as well less-concentrated, and they could not enjoy learning due to the limitation of social engagement in learning. Subsequently, as regards the problems faced during online learning, they had problems related to Internet’s signals, budgeting for fulfilling Internet’s needs, and difficulty in the search of learning resources, wherein the foregoing was categorized as a case of weak technological competence.

Abstract: Pandemic Covid-19 made government implemented the regulation of education that learning process only conduct by distance education, thus one of the method in this programme was by online learning. The objective of this research was to digging information about the online learning process by elementary teachers. Using the descriptive qualitative method with subjects of 37 teachers in Bogor City. Data was collected by survey with 2 type of questions (open and closed questions). The results shows, that before pandemic Covid-19 the implementation of online learning in elementary schools were very low, but after pandemic the readiness of teachers regarding the goverment regulation is well accomodated even though teachers still have shortcoming with the authenticity of learning outcomes from assignments. Furthermore, teachers still cannot fully conduct evaluation by online assessment particularly to evaluate the affective and social aspects. Vocational schools are no exception to implementing the online learning policy during the covid-19 pandemic, including students majoring in hotel accommodation. This study aims to describe how the school develops its readiness to implement the policy, particularly its challenges. This study also aims to determine the constraints and impacts of implementing the policy. Using a qualitative method, this study involved two vocational schools in Yogyakarta that have Hotel Accommodation major. The heads of the departments, the productive teachers, and some students were invited to several interviews. Documentation was also used to obtain detailed information. The results were categorized into two aspects: hard-skills and soft-skills. From the first aspect, challenges that are faced as the impact of the policy are (1) online learning at vocational schools majoring in hotel accommodation requires facilities and infrastructure that do not include internet quota, (2) teacher digital competence and teacher creativity in carrying out learning need to be improved, (3) students feel bored with online learning, so motivation needs to be grown, (4) skills/ practice-based learning implemented in school alternately with a limited number of students. The second aspect indicated that the policy makes it difficult to develop students' soft skills that are also measured as the learning objective. These constraints are important to note for the implementation of the online learning policy to be successful.

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to investigate the obstacles of e-learning, especially for students, and to find out students' perception in facing e-learning during coronavirus disease pandemic (covid-19). The rapid spread of coronavirus urges universities on a world-wide scale to do e-learning, including universities in Indonesia. This study uses online interviews and questionnaires to obtain the data, and descriptive qualitative method is used to analyse the data. The respondents in this study are 126 students with different majors from 21 universities in all across Indonesia, consisting of 6 state universities and 15 private ones. The results of the study reveal that e-learning has been carried out by universities in the country. It also shows there are several aspects such as the availability of online learning facilities, the use of facilities, learning processes, and some more points that need to reconsider or to optimize conducting the e-learning for the long term. Keywords: e-learning; students; pandemic

We study how to adapt to smoothly-varying (‘easy’) environments in well-known online learning problems where acquiring information is expensive. For the problem of label efficient prediction, which is a budgeted version of prediction with expert advice, we present an online algorithm whose regret depends optimally on the number of labels allowed and Q* (the quadratic variation of the losses of the best action in hindsight), along with a parameter-free counterpart whose regret depends optimally on Q (the quadratic variation of the losses of all the actions). These quantities can be significantly smaller than T (the total time horizon), yielding an improvement over existing, variation-independent results for the problem. We then extend our analysis to handle label efficient prediction with bandit (partial) feedback, i.e., label efficient bandits. Our work builds upon the framework of optimistic online mirror descent, and leverages second order corrections along with a carefully designed hybrid regularizer that encodes the constrained information structure of the problem. We then consider revealing action-partial monitoring games – a version of label efficient prediction with additive information costs – which in general are known to lie in the hard class of games having minimax regret of order T2/3. We provide a strategy with an O((Q*T)1/3 bound for revealing action games, along with one with a O((QT)1/3) bound for the full class of hard partial monitoring games, both being strict improvements over current bounds.

Abstract - Early March 2020, the corona virus began to spread in Indonesia. To suppress the wider spread of the virus, the government made policies regarding social restrictions. This has resulted in many schools and colleges, offices and companies, and other public places, deciding whether employees or their students should work or study from home. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of online learning during the Corona virus pandemic in Bandung Kridatama Polytechnic students. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method, and data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. While the analysis of data acquisition was carried out by collecting data, reducing data, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study revealed that online learning carried out during the Corona virus pandemic was ineffective because obstacles were still found that interfered with the learning process, including the absence of two-way communication between students and lecturers, Besides other obstacles, namely students who do not have enough quotas to take part in online learning, or lecturers who do not understand technology so that learning is not carried out using online learning applications but through Whatsapp groups. Keywords: learning, online learning, pandemic, Corona virus Abstrak – Awal bulan Maret tahun 2020, virus corona mulai menyebar di Indonesia.
