This article reported up-to-date studies on competencies issues of TVET educators from Malaysia’s institutions. Various electronic databases were used and through systematic selection, 12 scientific articles were identified. The findings of the identified studies were organized by five emerging key matters (1) imbalance of technical and non-technical competency; (2) lack of practical skills training and work experience; (3) issue of greening TVET; (4) lack of self-concept and self-confidence in improving performance; and (5) lack of pedagogical approach for social and humanity competency. This review indicates that these five key matters about competency apply to the current norm of Malaysian TVET educators across all ages. Thus, the review concludes by suggesting educators to progressively increase their knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical training and real experiences acquired from home and abroad. This will enhance their competencies in line with the national and international core standards, that aim to produce skilled, knowledgeable, and high-quality workforces in various TVET industries.

Appointed that the problems of using the game in socio-pedagogical work are widely represented in terms of pedagogy in general research. At the same time, we consider the shortage of domestic people dedicated to the manufacturers of theoretical foundations and improved activities, using the business game as an active occupational safety training method for future professionals. Identified specialized play activities that added a touch of detail, pre-working, as a methodology that changed learning among students. The purpose of the research is to develop, scientifically substantiate and experimentally test the methodology of the business game "Providing of first aid to victims in accidents at production", aimed at working out a sequence of actions to provide first aid in order of urgency and ability to maintain basic life functions. before the arrival of the emergency. The result of such games can be both the direct development of personality qualities and the demonstration of practical training of future professionals. Playing certain situations, involving game participants in the situation of choice is a real way to self-confidence, the ability to properly navigate in an extreme situation and use the tools at hand to help victims. This article analyzes the degree of assimilation of educational material by students after conducting practical classes in the form of a business game in comparison with students of control groups, in which this topic was presented in a lecture. The form of student certification consisted of answers to test tasks and descriptive questions of the training module. We compared the average scores on the 100-point system with the results of the assessments in the control groups, taking into account the overall score of students for the academic year.

The knowledge and skills required in wine evaluation, information and serving vary depending on the nature of profession where work with wine is involved. Although the waiter, the cook and the chef, the bartender and the sommelier have different approaches to wine due to their duties, there are a number of overlapping areas of knowledge and practical skills, which must be included in training programmes. We suggest that in Hungary the Portuguese model should be followed as an education technique in the HORECA industry. Thus, the theoretical and practical training should take place in regional centers, with student dormitories, and public restaurants. The vocational may be part-time, partly paid, and partly with state support.

Despite their determination to work and build their careers, school graduates are not sufficiently prepared to look for work and the opportunities to search a job. In most cases they are well prepared in theory and language and are literate in modern technologies. Their biggest handicap is the lack of practical skills and work experience. At the same time, graduates have to face the challenges of accelerated globalization and digitization. It is necessary to find answers to questions about what professional knowledge, practical skills, attitudes and values will be shaped by today's graduates and how education systems can develop the required knowledge and skills. The ambition of our contribution is to identify the main disparities that must be overcome in order to achieve the goal of the country's economic development strategy, in which the education system must inevitably correspond to the labour market requirements.

Abstract: An academic’s career development chiefly depends on research and publication performance. For young academics, support and guidance are needed to help with the transition to new work culture and practices in the early phase of their career. This study intended to explore the benefits of research collaboration activities in relation to young academics’ knowledge, skills, and personal development. A total of 15 young academics from one research university with each having less than five years of work experience selected using purposive sampling. In-depth interviews were used to collect data. The data transcribed and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings revealed that research collaboration activities have substantial impact on young academics in updating their research knowledge and skills, and this subsequently caused them to be more confident with their ability to manage research independently. Collaboration activities also have remarkable impact on young academics’ generic skills development and psychological wellbeing, increase young academics’ self-confidence, to reduce isolation as well as overcome the problem of low performance. Based on the findings, it is suggested that collaborative working culture is promoted and enhanced by universities as a practical platform for young academics to continue upgrading their knowledge and skills.   Keywords: Performance, Research Collaboration, University, Young Academics

The paper presents the interdisciplinary analysis of the determinants of the system of self-communication discourse and internal dialogue as the forms of objectivation of human mental content focused on some actions for meeting some objectives. The author describes discourse as integration of communication and language processes in self-understanding and personal identity. Contextually determined and dynamic self-communication discourse, as a way of acquirement of new senses and confirmation of old ones, verbalizes current personal values. The study results reveal the characteristics and relations of the internal dialogue discourse determinants within the human objectivity–subjectivity continuum. Discourse determinants prescribe its context and rules and include the prototype place and agents with their motives and objectives. Self-positions manifested in Self and Non-Self (Other Self) binary self-predications form the core pair of agents. The modality of a person’s attitude to own Self-positions makes their communications a dialogue or a monologue on the boundary of their sub-territories as a discourse prototype place. The degree of discourse agency, its closeness within the prototype place, or transgression openness depends on the complexity and differentiation of Self-concept and ego boundaries functionality. The frustration of meta-necessity to keep self-confidence and self-acceptance by reassessment and reformation of interrelations of Self-positions determines the motives and objectives of self-communication. The common goal of self-organization is implemented through the internal dialogue in the form of institutionalization, verification, and integration of their Self-predications. Status-role characteristics of agents and functionality of discourse prototype place determine the specificity of its motives and objectives according to the systemic effects of Self-organization.

Abstract To contribute to the construction of young professionals with an integral profile in which the competitive spirit is promoted through the resolution of a technological challenge applied to the Oil & Gas industry, under a scenario that demands a high degree of commitment and with the accompaniment of professionals with great experience in the industry. In accordance with the data acquired and the program's target population, an appropriate methodology has been established for the development and strengthening of technical and soft skills. This methodology consists of four main phases: 1. Challenge construction 2. Best Teams selection 3. Challenge Resolution and 4. Results presentation. During the challenge resolution phase, participants have multiple technical and soft skills training sessions where experienced professionals share their knowledge and experiences related to the challenge theme in an environment of generational knowledge transfer. During the last 4 years, around 120 participants from different cities of the country have managed to potentiate their soft skills and strengthen their knowledge in areas of the Oil & Gas industry such as unconventional, enhanced recovery, heavy oil, huff & puff, combustion had tests, wettability, waterflooding, among others and materialize it with the construction of an innovative technological tool. The best of each version was rewarded with their first work experience in the Oil & Gas industry where they were able to put into practice what they had learned during the program. Likewise, the continuous acquisition of valuable information about variables at the end of the program such as the knowledge areas of greatest interest for students and young professionals, the level of knowledge related to oil engineering and programming, the handling of a second language, and the skills acquired during the university training stage, has allowed strengthening the methodology of the"SPE en Sinergia" program, adjusting it to the current needs of the industry and placing the participants outside their comfort zone. The development of the program and the results obtained are based on the identification of the strengths and weaknesses currently displayed by students in their final semesters and young professionals in careers related to petroleum engineering in Colombia and that in one way or another have become part of the reasons why their link to the professional world has become more difficult. This has enabled a way to identify opportunities for improvement and establish lines of action to promote the professional fast-track development of the new generations in a joint effort between industry and academia.
