As wine tourism destination image research attracts more attention lately, it is necessary to synthesize the literature and monitor its development. By analyzing the accumulated knowledge in the field, our study aims to form a practical guide based on which future research can avoid duplication and focus on the detected gaps The paper uses literature review methodology of 21 studies published between 2001 and 2020. Sample articles were coded and analyzed by different variables. The results explain some of the features of the field such as common measurement methods, study subjects and objects, samples and their size, destination types, scales, topics, and so forth. It summarizes strengths and weaknesses as well as future research possibilities. Based on the results, it is proposed to diversify the subjects of the study, also, to improve the measurement techniques of wine tourism destination image and focus on projected image which lacks the attention.

Making the right impression is paramount to succeed in today’s very competitive market, where photographs have acquired a prominent role in doing so. The evaluation and analysis of destination image have been tackled mainly from the perspective of the tourists’ perceptions. However, the projected image of destinations has received limited attention in the literature and the topic has not yet been successfully operationalized. Moreover, existing literature on the projected image on photographs (PIP) is scattered and lacking of an integral approach. Thus, the aim of this article is to fill this gap by carrying a comprehensive literature review on the destination’s PIP, covering information sources analyzed, destinations included, number of pictures, time framework, methodology, and specially categorization (people, activities represented, and tourism context) and specific attributes used. As a result, this article provides researchers with a reference guide to understand the current situation of the research on this topic, context, methods, and focus of previous studies. Finally, it identifies trends and reflections on future research.

The importance of destination image in film tourism has been recognized by scholars and practitioners. However, despite a large number of research papers related to the destination image within the field of film tourism, several issues remain unclear. This chapter provides insights into how movies influence the featured destination's image by focusing on specific film tourists' perceptions, their motivations, and emotional relation to the movies. The chapter begins by offering a film tourism definition followed by film tourist typology with the context of film fans. Then, factors influencing film tourism destination image are examined, in particular destination marketing activities, film-specific factors, and destination attributes. Two case studies will also be provided to better showcase the findings from the literature review. Theoretical and practical implications are also presented.

PurposeThe purpose of this study is to explore the empirical literature on the resilience of firefighters related to potentially traumatic events (PTE). This paper identifies how resilience is defined in this particular research field, reveals trends in applied research methods and examines the main topics addressed in previous research.Design/methodology/approachWeb of Science, PsycARTICLES and Google Scholar databases were searched, as well as a secondary manual screening of the reference lists of all the selected studies and Dutch academic journals. Based on this review, 54 empirical articles were included in the current paper.FindingsFirstly, this paper revealed that there is no consensus in how to define the concept of resilience in this specific research area. A second observation was that most of the selected studies used a quantitative, cross-sectional research design. Finally, the 54 empirical studies provided insights on six topics: the role of the organization, demographic factors, personal characteristics, coping strategies, social support and the reactions of firefighters in the aftermath of PTE. Comparing the empirical results was challenged by the different interpretations and denominations of the concept of resilience and the myriad of measurement techniques applied across the selected articles.Originality/valueThis literature review discovered some promising avenues for future research regarding resilience of firefighters. Moreover, it demonstrated that studying resilience is particularly interesting as the identification of supporting factors leads to a better understanding of how to enhance the well-being, job satisfaction and job performance of firefighters.

The destination image and positioning studies in tourism have been limited to those dealing with the image's perceptual or cognitive component. This study examined the applicability of Russel and his colleagues' proposed affective space structure to large-scale environments (i.e., tourism destination countries) as well as its potential as a positioning structure to study affective images of tourism destinations. The multidimensional scaling analysis of 11 Mediterranean countries along with proposed affective space structure indicated that Russel and his colleagues' proposed affective space can also be applied to places that are not perceived directly. It also showed potential for studying the affective image positioning of tourism destinations. The article concludes with some theoretical and practical implications and future research areas regarding tourism destination images.

Destination familiarity is thought to critically influence tourists’ decision-making processes. Yet the role of familiarity in shaping tourists’ and residents’ image of, and loyalty to, a destination remains uncertain. This research tests a complex and holistic model of familiarity, affective, cognitive and overall images, and the conative behavioural intentions of visiting and recommending the destination for both residents and visitors in the context of the emerging tourism destination of Molise, Italy. The results reveal that residents and visitors differ in terms of their familiarity and intention to visit a place, with familiarity being less likely to influence residents’ intentions. There is heterogeneity between residents and visitors’ affective image and intention to visit, as well as between their overall image and intention to recommend Molise. Hence, unlike visitors, residents are more likely to respond to factual cognitive imaging, rather than emotional messaging, suggesting that shifting residents’ perceptions of place image requires a different approach to that of visitors. Future research should seek to confirm the relationships in a multi-destination study.

This study examines the determinants of excursionists’ satisfaction and destination loyalty towards architectural tourism destination in Ipoh Township, since in view of its economic, social and cultural importance, there are limited studies focusing on tourist satisfaction and destination loyalty towards architectural tourism in the extant literature. In addition, the downturn of the tourism sector in Malaysia has mirrored in the state of Perak which raises an alarming signal to the state tourism authorities as domestic tourists are shifting away to tourism destinations in other states and cities in Malaysia. It is postulated that Destination Image, Authenticity, Safety of Destination and Cultural Differences as direct determinants of excursionists’ satisfaction and destination loyalty. Using convenience sampling technique, this study surveyed 250 excursionists who are visiting architectural tourism destination in Ipoh Township. The data were analysed to ensure the attainment of internal reliability before further analyses were conducted. Multiple linear regression analyses found that all determinants had a significant positive effect on excursionists’ satisfaction and destination loyalty. The findings suggest managerial implications to the tourism stakeholders in preserving the heritage and cultural value of the Ipoh Township. Limitations and suggestions for future research are also highlighted.

This study aims to systematically review the academic literature on film-induced tourismin Asia between 2011 and 2020 as a cross-disciplinary study, by identifying the recenttrends, delineating the research gaps and the limitations of previous research, andproposing new directions for future research. Despite an increasing number of studies onfilm-induced tourism, Anglophonic literature, rather than studies on Asia, receive mostfocus. This article is the first such attempt at systematically reviewing the literaturefocusing on Asia. Moreover, previous literature on Asia lacks in comprehensivelyunderstanding film-induced tourism because it overlooks the cross-disciplinaryperspective. This article fills this gap by synthesizing the existing literature from a crossdisciplinaryperspective. Utilizing a systematic literature review approach, 67 articleswere identified using one of the largest online databases, Web of Science. The resultsrevealed three research trends: film tourism impact, destination image and marketing, anddemand and motivation. The following gaps in the literature were also identified: filmtourist experiences, the impact on host communities, tourism policy and regulation, thecultural construction of film tourism, and impact research from different stakeholders'perspectives. Moreover, studies on Asia benefit from expanding the existing concept offilm-induced tourism by focusing on the contents rather than media. This studycontributes by filling the gaps of film tourist experiences and cultural construction of filmtourism. Furthermore, cross-fertilization of tourism and fandom studies is proposed.Finally, the practical contribution of the study is highlighted—the same contents can beused repeatedly in various formats for longevity.

A systematic literature review (SLR) from 1991 to 2019 is carried out about EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) excellence model in this paper. The aim of the paper is to present state of the art in quantitative research on the EFQM excellence model that will guide future research lines in this field. The articles were searched with the help of six strings and these six strings were executed in three popular databases i.e. Scopus, Web of Science, and Science Direct. Around 584 peer-reviewed articles examined, which are directly linked with the subject of quantitative research on the EFQM excellence model. About 108 papers were chosen finally, then the purpose, data collection, conclusion, contributions, and type of quantitative of the selected papers are discussed and analyzed briefly in this study. Thus, this study identifies the focus areas of the researchers and knowledge gaps in empirical quantitative literature on the EFQM excellence model. This article also presents the lines of future research.
