This year we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Department of Geomorphology (since 2000 – Geomorphology and Paleogeography) of the Faculty of Geography, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, formed on the basis of the existing Lviv school of geography, which possessed old traditions and scientific achievements in the research of relief, in particular, of its development and formation. On the occasion of the anniversary, the article attempts to analyze the main achievements of the Department over the 70-year period, to highlight the main stages of its development and to outline the new challenges facing the Department today. There is the “Engineering, ecological and regional geomorphology” scientific school successfully functioning at the Department. Within its borders, the “Paleogeography of the Pleistocene” research direction is rapidly developing with significant achievements recognized at the international level. Anthropogenic and dynamic geomorphology, historical and geographical research, and geomorphological mapping with the use of GIS and remote sensing have been intensively developed. Over the last decade, research on the environmental issues, including spatial planning and design of nature reserves and ecological networks, as well as the study of geoheritage, geotourism and geoeducation have been singled out into independent areas. Overall, there are four development stages of the Department: the first ‒ from its foundation (1950) till 1970, the second ‒ during 1971-1990, the third ‒ during 1990-2010, and the fourth ‒ from 2010 till present. For each of them, the main scientific and practical achievements of the Department are briefly analyzed. The most important event in the first stage was the launching of fundamental comprehensive regional research, including the Ukrainian Carpathians, under the supervision of P. Tsys; in the second one ‒ the development of regional and engineering-geomorphological research and the introduction of stationary and semi-stationary research of modern relief-forming processes for the first time in Ukraine; in the third one ‒ the formation of a research school of engineering, ecological and regional geomorphology and the rapid development of Pleistocene paleogeography, as well as of environmental research; in the fourth one ‒ active development of the “Engineering, Ecological and Regional Geomorphology” scientific school and of the “Pleistocene Paleogeography” research direction, as well as of the investigations related to geoheritage, geotourism and geoeducation. The main current challenges are outlined at the end of the article. Background: Volodymyr Andriyovych Motornyi (1929–2015) is an outstanding Ukrainian Slavist, literary critic, culturologist, university lecturer, translator, diplomat, public figure. The scientific and pedagogical activity of the professor of the Department of Slavonic Philology at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv is well known in the Slavic world. One of the most prominent representatives of Lviv Slavic studies, an active organiser of science, Professor Volodymyr Motornyi was a famous representative of Bohemistics. Along with Professor Kostiantyn Trofymovych, he launched the Ukrainian scientific school of Sorbian studies, actively studied and popularised the literature and culture of various Slavic nations. One can hardly overestimate his contribution to the development of Ukrainian science being a talented teacher who educated many generations of young Slavists, was a co-organiser of the Lviv International Slavic Colloquia, as well as numerous scientific and cultural events. Despite the existence of articles and reviews dedicated to Volodymyr Motornyi, the figure of the Professor deserves more detailed coverage and promotion of his creative heritage. Purpose: The article aims to introduce readers to a sort of the portrait of Professor Motornyi as a teacher and scholar; and given the scale of the scholar and the breadth of his interests, the authors have chosen the path of presentation of just a few aspects of his work. A special place is given to the combination of objective and subjective presentation of the Professor: the facts of the biography of the scholar are supplemented by the memories of the colleagues and students. Results: The article outlines the basic touches to the portrait of Professor Volodymyr Andriyovych Motornyi, a remarkable Ukrainian scholar, one of the most prominent representatives of Lviv Slavic studies. The key dates of the biography are given, the main directions of scientific, pedagogical, and creative activity of the Slavist are analysed. Memoirs of the colleagues – well-known scholars, former students and followers of the Professor – are an important element of the article. The article is currently the most complete and comprehensive presentation of the figure of the outstanding Ukrainian scholar, educator, organiser of science, intellectual and Teacher. 2020 is a jubilee year for Kharkiv National University of Civil Engineering and Architecture. The article is devoted to the analysis and presentation of the main pages of the University history. Emphasis is placed on the causes and peculiarities of the events that are connected with the foundation of the building institute in 1930. Among the basic stages of history, the attention is drawn to its creation and importance of preparation of qualified personnel of builders and architects during industrialization; features of work of institute during the Second World War and during post-war restoration; rapid development of KHIBI in 1950th – opening of new specialities and formation of scientific schools, expansion of a contingent of students, including the beginning of preparation of foreign listeners is marked. In the following decades there was a steady development and expansion of the structure of the university, cooperation with foreign higher educational institutions, introduction of scientific achievements of teachers of the institute into production. At the time of Ukraine's independence, new tendencies in higher education (humanization of the scientific process, introduction of new methods of teaching and control of students' knowledge, activation of research work in accordance with the requirements of national and world science, etc.) are being implemented – granting the status of a university, and later the status of a national university. The author notes the main achievements of the University during the leadership of each of the directors / rectors of KHIBI – KHTUBA – KHNUBA. The prospects of KHIBI development are determined by its high status of a higher educational institution in the architectural and construction area of modern Ukraine and the potential of its staff. At the end of the article it is concluded that the university has an outstanding history, which was created by teachers, scientists, employees, students and graduates of the university, each of whom made a significant contribution to the achievements of our Alma Mater.

  The creation of a school on applied geometry at the National University of Bioresources and Nature Management of Ukraine is associated with the names of the so-called prof. Obukhova Violetta and prof. Rozov Seraphim. Thanks to these outstanding personalities, the Department of Drawing Geometry and Mechanical Engineering of the Ukrainian Agricultural Academy (the old name of the department and university) became widely known in the former Soviet Union. Members of the department annually honor the memory of prof. Obukhova V., hold a scientific and practical conference «Obukhov Readings». Now the conference has acquired international status and is held by order of the rector of the university. The conference is attended by teachers from Kiev universities, from universities in other cities, scientists who had to work with V.S. Obukhova or listen to her lectures, being students, doctoral students, graduate students. The development of the school is evidenced by the fact that over the past 15 years, 15 PhD theses have been defended by former graduate students of the department. Some of them are working on doctoral dissertations. Today, the scientific school was headed by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of Pilipakа Sergey. Under his leadership, 17 master's theses and 3 doctoral dissertations were defended. It should be noted that the range of scientific research of the school representatives is quite wide. Many publications focus on bending surfaces based on the invariability of the expression of a linear surface element. The main area of research is geometric modeling of technical forms and automation of their design. In the field of view of scientists - the design of unfolding surfaces, as a bypass single-parameter set of planes, the location on the surfaces of geodetic lines and their design according to a given curve, which should be a geodetic line for the surface and interpolation of a point series in plane and space.

Objectives: The rapid development of the global tourism industry has brought about a boom in the development of the homestay industry, and the development of homestays in China is no exception. With the advent of the era of large accommodation, the country smoke-free homestay industry can not only meet people's basic needs for travel and accommodation, but also a place to experience culture and social consumption, which is an increasing need for people's better life. From the perspective of the business model of homestays, the new types of homestays that incorporate the upstream and downstream industrial chain of homestays are more in line with future development trends. In order to solve the problems of "weak", "scattered" and "small" in the form of the country homestay industry chain, and to continuously optimize the coordinated development of the country homestay industry chain, it is very necessary to adopt the following paths and measures: The first is to strengthen the coordination and integration of country homestay with other industrial chains; the second is to strengthen the agglomeration of the homestay industry and create a branded management road for country homestay; the third is to strengthen government guidance, coordinate the distribution of benefits, and create beautiful country homestay; the fourth is to increase policy support Make efforts to promote the flow of homestay talents and achieve high-quality development of the homestay industry.

With the rapid development of technologies, the third generation semiconductor is being studied, as it is leading to the significant change in industry like the manufacture of PC, mobile devices, lighting etc. Till now, due to its irreplaceable physical characteristics, third generation semiconductor is applied to lots of fields. This paper analyzes the application of third generation semiconductor, namely, GaN and SiC. Their characteristics including advantages as well as disadvantages will be discussed through reviewing the result of relevant researches. Meanwhile, comparison between the third generation semiconductors and the second as well as the first generation semiconductors is made in this paper. Through the comparison of physical characteristics, recent marketing, production and limitations, the advantages and disadvantages of each semiconductor is analyzed and the suggestion of how to avoid the disadvantage through application is proposed. At last, the future development is predicted. According to the analysis result of this paper, silicon poses more merits. Silicon is not only cheaper but also performs better making it a preference of GaAs, and GaN in the domain of IC. The second generation semiconductor, GaAs, is widely used in the circuits and photoelectric integration. Furthermore, the third semiconductor material GaN is a promising material for power switching and communication and has the great possibility to play a crucial role in market.

The primordia of the floral appendages are initiated in an acropetal succession. Members of the same whorl appear nearly simultaneously. The gynoecial whorl and the two staminal whorls are trimerous, whereas the perianth consists only of two anteriolateral tepals. However, the posterior (adaxial) tepal may be present as an extremely reduced buttress whose growth becomes arrested immediately after its inception. If this somewhat questionable tepal rudiment is included we have a perfectly trimerous and tetracyclic flower with alternation of successive whorls. Subtending bracts of the flowers are completely missing in all developmental stages. While the tepal primordia are dorsiventral from their inception, the stamen and pistil (carpel) primordia originate as hemispherical mounds which become dorsiventral in subsequent stages of development. Each pistil (carpel) primordium becomes horseshoe shaped. As the margins grow up and contact they fuse postgenitally. No cross zone is formed. Placentation is submarginal. In A. natans eight ovules are formed and in A. undulatus only two arise; all ovules are bitegmic. The floral apices have a two-layered tunica up to the stage of pistil formation. The inception of all floral appendages (including the ovules) occurs by periclinal cell division in the second tunica layer. The third layer (corpus) may contribute to the formation of the stamens and pistils. Each appendage primordium receives only one procambial strand which begins to differentiate after the inception of the primordium. The questionable rudimentary tepal buttress lacks a procambial strand. Apparently it does not reach the developmental stage at which procambial induction occurs. From the point of view of floral development, the two species of Aponogeton differ drastically from members of the Alismatales studied so far. Among the Helobiae, the Aponogetonaceae appear to be most closely related to the Scheuchzeriaceae and the Juncaginaceae (Triglochinaceae).

In this article the three stages of development of the Russian Constitution (1918, 1925, 1937), are discussed each of represents a certain phase of the constitutional development of the Soviet state. The first stage (1917—1925) is characterized with the transition from capitalism to socialism, the second one stages (1925—1937) is associated with the adoption of the Constitution of the RSFSR in 1925, reflecting changes in the state-building — the formation of the unanimous union of the republican states — the USSR and delegating some mostly important items to it, the formation of the new autonomous regions, the end of the civil war and the reconstruction of the national economics. The third stage (1937—1940) is connected with the adoption of the Constitution of the RSFSR in 1937 (based on the Stalin Constitution of the USSR), which was characterized with the victory of socialism, the industrialization of the country and the collectivization in the agriculture, sphere of economics, the construction of a society without exploiting classes based on the alliance of the working class and the peasantry.
