<p><strong>Abstract: </strong>The objective of the research is to know: 1) The characters in the novel "The Land of Five Towers" 2) The educational value in the novel "The Land of Five Towers." The data is the novel "The Land of Five Towers" by Ahmad Fuadi. This research is qualitative. The writer analyzes the characters by using Nurgiyantoro's categories of characterization. There are six main characters, and they have about 19 personalities. The dominant is religious as all the characters have this personality. The direct method characterization is about 44%, while the indirect method is about 56%. 2) Besides, the educational value is analyzed by Tirtarahardja and Sulo's definitions of values. The dominant one is a moral value: about 80% and religious value is about 20%. In moral value, the dominant is sincerity (31%), and the dominant one in religious value is faithful to God (40%). The novel has a more powerful portrayal of the character and educational value. Hopefully, by analyzing those, the readers will apply the positive lesson they get from the novel in their life.</p><p><strong>Keywords: </strong>character education; educational value; novel analysis<strong></strong></p>

This study aims to find the values of moral education (ahklaq) and describe the characteristics of the characters who appear in the Hafalan Shalat Delisa novel and its relevance in the current era of globalization. It is a library research, whereas the data collection uses documentary method, data analysis uses content analysis. The results obtained from this study are: (1) moral values education contained in the novel include the educational value towards: a) God (prayer, dhikr, and pray to Allah, upright accept acts of God, fear of God’s torture, and fear of losing the God’s grace), b) family (mutual respect, devotion, love and care for his family), c) self or ahklaq Mahmudah namely: (impatient, upright, gratitude, optimism, mutual help, hard work, and discipline) and ahklaq madzmumah (ignorant, stubborn, lying and jealousy) d) family (conjugal affection rights, the rights of the husband and wife together, birul walidain) e) environment (nurture and care all created by Allah SWT well). (2) Characteristics of the existing characters in the novel such as Delisa, the errant six years old girl who has different characteristics with children in her age in the case of curiosity, the character Ummi Salamah is a wife as well as good mother (shalihah) who possess high discipline in educating her children. (3) The relevance of educational values in globalization era is the importance of moral education. Through the character education curriculum as well as moral education as early as possible either at home, school, environment, and society to overcome moral decadence.

This study aims to gain an in-depth understanding of educational values in the novel Madogiwa No Totto-chan by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi with a qualitative approach that includes educational values in terms of the structure of the novel. Research methods. This research is a library research or library research that uses a qualitative approach with content analysis techniques. Conclusion of research findings: The main theme of this novel is EDUCATION, education that frees students to be creative, while the sub-theme is education must be adjusted to the development of the child's personality. The credentials found are: A mother must be wise in educating and caring for her children with special needs. A school principal or a teacher should be a leader who is brave to act in accordance with their respective beliefs and life principles. The educational values in this novel can be used as examples of learning in schools to help children with problems (special needs). An educator should be fun and not scold his students because educating children is not with anger but with advice, praise, and trust. Make kids confident, responsible, love each other, and help each other, introduce them to nature because nature stores various sources of knowledge. Educational values found are educational values related to religious education values, moral education values, social education values, and beauty education values. Recommendation: Madogiwa No Totto-chan's autobiographical novel (Totto-chan Little Girl in the Window) can be used as a learning tool for character education in schools in Indonesia because this Japanese novel has raised educational values that contain a number of noble values. One of the noble values is the value of education in the novel that abstracts the reality of Japanese society's life. This study aims to (1) describe the structure of fable and legend of the Nasal region, (2) to describe the educational values of fable characters and the legend of Nasal area and its relation with the material of class smp vii. This research uses descriptive qualitative method, the method is used to describe and analyze the structure of people's crita and the educational values of the character of Nasal society. Source of data in this research is informant. That is, citizens who provide information about all related to research. Data collection techniques in this study there are 3 namely: recording techniques, interview techniques and content analysis techniques The theory is used to analyze the structure of stories using structural theory. The results showed that the folklore of Nasal Kaur community consists of two types, namely legend and Fable. The value of character education found in the legend, that is independent. The value of character education found in fable stories, that is forgiving, ingenious, patient, friendly, hard work, willing to accept defeat. Based on 4 folk stories found, there is a story that can be used as a literary learning material in junior high school because it contains the moral value of education.Keywords: values of character education, folklore, structure

Abstrak   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kepribadian sebelum dan setelah mengalami perubahan pada tokoh utama Haruki Shiga dalam novel Kimi No Suizou Wo Tabetai karya Sumino Yoru. Metode penelitian yang digunakan oleh penulis yaitu metode deskriptif analisis pada tokoh dengan pendekatan psikologi sastra. Teori yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu teori tentang penokohan dan plot dengan cara menggunakan metode penokohan yaitu metode langsung (telling) dan metode tidak langsung (showing) untuk mengidentifikasi kepribadian sebelum dan setelah perubahan tokoh utama Haruki Shiga dalam novel Kimi No Suizou Wo Tabetai karya Sumino Yoru. Data yang menjadi objek penelitian berupa kutipan-kutipan penokohan pada Haruki yang menggambarkan kepribadian tokoh Haruki sebelum mengalami perubahan kepribadian dan setelah mengalami perubahan kepribadian. Hasil dari kepribadian tokoh utama Haruki sebelum mengalami perubahan kepribadian yaitu adanya sifat yang tertutup, acuh tak acuh dan pemalu. Sedangkan hasil dari kepribadian tokoh utama Haruki setelah mengalami perubahan yaitu lebih peduli dan lebih membuka diri. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu dalam meneliti kepribadian sebelum dan setelah perubahan tokoh utama dapat menggunakan metode penokohan supaya mendapatkan hasil secara langsung yang dilihat dari sifat tokoh utama dan plot dalam cerita.     Kata Kunci : Novel, Metode langsung dan tidak langsung   Abstract   This study aims to determine the personality before and after experiencing a change in the main character Haruki Shiga in the novel Kimi No Suizou Wo Tabetai by Sumino Yoru. The research method used by the author is a descriptive method of analysis of figures with a literary psychology approach. The theory used in this research is the theory of characterizations and plots by using the characterization method, namely the direct method (telling) and the indirect method (showing) to identify the personality before and after the change of the main character Haruki Shiga in Kimi's No Suizou Wo Tabetai novel by Sumino Yoru The data are the object of research in the form of characterizations in Haruki characterizations that describe the personality of Haruki's character before experiencing changes in personality and after experiencing changes in personality. The results of the personality of the main character Haruki before experiencing personality changes are the nature of being closed, indifferent and shy . While the results of the personality of the main character Haruki after undergoing change are more caring and more open. The conclusion of this research is in examining the personality before and after the change of the main character can use the characterization method in order to get results directly as seen from the character's main character and plot in the story.   Keywords : Novel, telling method and showing method

This research is motivated by problems in the world of education, that the values of character education get less attention because more directed to the mastery of academic or cognitive aspects. While the actual nonakademik aspect becomes the main foundation in character education less attention, so less embedded in learners. Therefore, this study aims to instill the values of character education contained in the novel Rantau Satu Muara by Ahmad Fuadi. This novel is chosen because it is closely related to the values of character education. The type of this research is qualitative with descriptive analysis method. This research also uses the approach of literary sociology. The data collection is done by the researchers themselves. The researcher recorded and analyzed the data during the research to collect the data taken in the novel text then the researchers themselves processed and analyzed the data in detail. The results of this study are the values of character education in the novel Rantau Satu Muara by Ahmad Fuadi which contains the values of character education, as follows. (1) Educational values of religious characters with indicators of sincerity, diligent worship / prayer, prayer, thanksgiving, and put your trust in. (2) The values of hard work character education with indicators of earnest, unyielding, aspiring and creative. (3) The values of education of the love character of the homeland with nationalist indicators and respect for diversity. (4) Educational values of the character communicative / friendly with indicators of cooperation, social care, love out, affection, kindness and respect the achievements of others. (5) The educational values of the characters love to read with the indicators of love science and diligent reading. (6) Values of character education responsibilities with independent indicators.

The purpose of this study to get an explanation on the description of the Analysis of character education  Daun yang Jatuh Tak Pernah Membenci Angin Novel By Tere Liye. This research uses descriptive analysis method. descriptive analysis method used in this study  means to obtain an accurate picture of the values of character education in novel Daun yang Jatuh Tak Pernah Membenci Angin Novel By Tere Liye. Technique Data collection was done by using the documentation that specifically examined the values of character education in novel Daun yang Jatuh Tak Pernah Membenci Angin Novel By Tere Liye. Based on the analysis of educational values contained in this  novel  there are as follows (1) relegius educational value such as prayer , grave pilgrimage , grateful  (2) hard work as diligently and passionately in the work, (3) such as smart creative thinking and create the new things, (4) appreciate achievements such as awards to and achievement, (5) independent as not to depend on others, (6) curiosity such as asking questions, (7) friends / communicative as happy hanging out with other people, (8) social care such as giving comfort to those in need , and  (9) responsibilities such as completing tasks without being asked or told.

Novels as a form of literary work are expected to produce positive values for their readers, so that they can be sensitive to problems related to social life and encourage good behavior. Novels usually tell about the realities of human life with the surrounding environment. The limitations of the problem in this study focused on the analysis of educational values (religious values and moral values) and aspects of literary psychology in the main character in mellyana Dhian's novel Ribs to Heaven. While the purpose of this study is to analyze educational values in Novel Ribs Towards Heaven By Mellyana Dhian Review of Literary Psychology. This research uses Descriptive Qualitative data analysis techniques. Data collection is done by listening method through note-recording technique. Data analysis techniques used are flow analysis that includes three components, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. From the results of the research shows the conclusion in the novel Ribs Towards Heaven By Mellyana Dhian conveys educational values that are very useful for readers by bringing the story to life, so that it can become more alive and add variety and avoid monotonous things that can make the reader bored. Educational values contained in the novel Ribs Towards Heaven By Mellyana Dhian, based on the results of the analysis consists of two aspects. The educational value is: (a) religious educational value is the highest and absolute spiritual value and is derived from human beliefs or beliefs, in the novel Ribs To Heaven. (b) The moral educational value of the value of dealing with good and bad behavior, in the novel Ribs To Heaven. And a review of literary psychology consisting of three main parts namely id, ego, superego.

This article with regard to the educational values of characters in the tradition of the Bugis community and aims to determine the values of character education contained in  (pappaseng) and  (elong). Qualitative descriptive nature of this study, use several approaches sociological. Data consisted of primary and secondary. The primary data sourced from books containing  (pappaseng) and other informants who support as: Bugis community leaders. The results showed that there is some educational value in  (pappaseng) character as such as: caring, tolerance and democracy, honest, clean, and patience. characters patience in  (elong) reads:  (Ininnawa sabbarakki lolongeng gare Deceng tosabbaraede),   (Pitu taunna sabbara tengnginang kulolongeng riyasengnge Deceng, Deceng enrekki ri bola tejjali tettappere banna mase-mase). The conclusion of the research in the Bugis community are knowen  (pappaseng) and  (elong)to be loaded with the value of character education.

The novel “Totto-chan: The Little Girl at the Window” is a novel which some parts of its story reflects concept of education that is unique and different. The concept education in this novel related with educational value according to Moleong perspective. Therefore, this research is mainly purposed to search about what are the educational values found in Tottochan: The Little Girl at the Window”? and how educational values appear in “Tottochan: The Little Girl at the Window” based on Moleong perspective. This research is qualitative one by using content analysis method. Two data sources were chosen the primary data source is the novel itself and the secondary data are books, literature, official websites and other relevant materials. In general, the result found educational values contained in the novel based on Moleong perspective. By this research, it is expected that teachers can implement the positive things that exist in this study and in the novels at school and also encourage students’ interest in literature.

Character education is an effort to reinforce character values to create Indonesia's golden generation. This study aimed to describe and explain the educational value of goodness and responsibility character in the novel of Guru Aini. The data in this study are data on the values of character education in the form of dialogue quotes, sentences, and paragraphs in novels. The data source is the novel Guru Aini by Andrea Hirata. The data collection technique which is used is documentation techniques with reading, recording, and assessment activities. The validation technique used theory triangulation and data triangulation. The data analysis technique used an interactive model analysis technique which includes three components, namely: (1) data reduction; (2) data presentation; and (3) drawing conclusions. The results showed that the novel contains the educational value of good character related to giving, such as giving appreciation, forgiveness, knowledge, and goods. Meanwhile, the educational value of the responsibility character reflected that a more responsible attitude as a teacher and a student. The novel of Guru Aini can be used as a media for giving the values of character education.
