This research is a Classroom Action Research by providing action on research subjects in two learning cycles in class VIII.H SMPN 5 Bogor Academic Year 2019/2020. The results of this study indicate that using the Student Teams Achievement Divisions model can be a fun learning variation for students so that it is proven to improve student learning outcomes. Before using the Student Teams Achievement Divisions model in the division it became an average and completeness of learning 62.10 and 34.38% the increase occurred after using the Student Teams Achievement Divisions model in the division to 79.34 and 68.75% in cycle I, and it occurred increased again to 87.26 and 100% in cycle II. The results showed that using the Student Teams Achievement Divisions model in the division which was adapted to learning materials that could create a pleasant atmosphere so that there was an increase in student learning outcomes. Therefore, researchers suggest that the Student Teams Achievement Divisions model be socialized to be used as an alternative in science learning in schools within the Bogor City Education Office.

Background: The STAD model  is to motivate students to support each other and help one another in mastering the abilities taught by the teacher. Crosswords are a game of sharpening the brain where we have to fill in the blank spaces (in the form of white boxes) with the letters that form a word based on the instructions given. Method: Design of experimental research with the type of research used is descriptive comparative. The research subjects were the eighth grade students of Ambon 1 Junior High School, totaling 26 students. The instruments used were initial test and final test questions, observation sheets, student worksheets and group worksheets. Results: Research shows that the application of the STAD Cooperative type learning model with Cross Puzzle media can improve student learning outcomes. On average all aspects of value have increased. Can be seen in the achievement of the estimated student score of 83.46%. Continued hypothesis testing using the t-test with the value of thit> ttab (2.27> 2.01) thus there are differences in the improvement of student learning outcomes using the STAD type cooperative learning model with a crossword puzzle media. Conclusion: There are differences in the application of the STAD learning model with crossword media and discovery learning learning models of motion systems concepts in humans to improve learning outcomes of class VIII students of SMPN 1 Ambon, it is evident that the results of t-test analysis where t count> t table that the STAD model with media crossword puzzles is more effective for improving student learning outcomes than the Discovery Learning model

The goal of this research is gaining description on science literacy improvement of junior high school students regarding the topics of earthquake and flood as an effect of Contextual Based Learning (CBL) implementation during science instruction. Quasi-experiment serves as the method of this study with non-equivalent control group pre-test post-test design. Jigsaw cooperative learning method functions as the control treatment. Research subjects involve 52 students of grade VII in a state junior high school in Bandung Regency, West Java. Those research subjects are divided into two classes namely experiment class and control class. The instrument used to collect relevant data is science literacy test covering aspects of science content, science competence, and attitude towards science. Two independent sample t-test is applied to analyze the comparison of science literacy improvement reached between experiment and control class. The result of statistical calculation for two independent sample t-test N-gain using version 23 SPSS software shows a significant value of 0.00 < α. 0.05 for all aspects. The findings indicate that CBL implementation during science instruction within topics of earthquake and flood is proven to be valid to improve students’ science literacy compared to jigsaw cooperative model.
