Bullying is one of the events that repeatedly arises in schools and associated to varies between individuals. One of the sources of bullying is the poor self-awareness held by students. Self-awareness is one of the students skill must acquire. However, in reality there are still many students who have poor self-awareness. This study tries to investigate the effectiveness of the Karpman Drama Triangle to build up students self-awareness using Quasi Experiment Design. The research subjects consisted of 15 junior high school students who had poor self-awareness. The results of the study indicated that the Karpman Drama Triangle was useful in enhancing students self-awareness to reduce bullying behavior. It also informs us that the Karpman Drama Triangle can be an option to develop students self-awareness in reducing conflicts and bullying behavior that exists between students. The difference in the status of self-awareness between students before and after treatment is expressed is also illustrated. The Karpman Drama Triangle can be an alternative solution for handling and facilitating students who have poor social interaction and growing conflict situations towards peacefully.

This research was conducted to produce a volleyball smash learning model and test its effectiveness for junior high school children. The development method adopts the development steps of Borg and Gall. Small group trials involve 15 athletes and 60 for large group trials. The development of the model begins with small trials, large trials and effectiveness tests. The effectiveness test used pre-post test with the instrument of the volleyball smash skills of junior high school students. The exercise model that was applied was tested for the significance of the difference and it was obtained that the t-test = 31,614, db = 32 and p-value = 0.00 <0.05, meaning that there were significant differences in the ability of students before and after they were given the volleyball smash learning model. It was concluded that existing moddel could be developed and applied in volleyball smash learning and effectively improved volleyball smash learning outcomes for junior high school students.

The purpose of this research was to produce a student activity sheet based guided discovery me-thod to improve understanding of the mathematical concept of junior high school students, determine the effectiveness and increase the ability of understanding mathematical concepts that students use the worksheet-based method of guided discovery. The method used was the development of research de-velopment model 4-D, that was define, design, develop and disseminate. The research was conducted in SMP Islam Kepenuhan of Rokan Hulu Riau with research subjects grade VIIIA. Student activity sheet and research instruments validated to the experts, then conducted limited field trial, resulting in the final and disseminate is the use of student activity sheet that has been developed on a broader scale, to subject teachers school math test field try to use this device. The results of the implementation of the trials showed Student Activity Sheet effective to use, as shown by an increase in the ability of students' understanding of the concept, where students in classical completeness there are 30 students who reached the KKM ≥ 70 ie 83.33% of the proceeds from the pretest posttest whereas only 23 those students who completed ie 63.88%, further capabilities increase student understanding of the concept of before and after learning that the average pretest results and the ability of understanding the con-cept 69.84 average yield of 81.35 posttest understanding of the concept. Based on the analysis of data, it is advisable to use a math teacher to student activity sheet based methods guided discovery learning.

AbstractIn education, many empirical studies have shown evidence that video games have the potential to improve student learning outcomes, but there is still great controversy in the literature regarding the impact of video game. More evidence is needed to convince educators and researchers regarding the actual value and the efficiency of video game in learning science. The purpose of this study was to examine the use of video game in learning to improve the mastery of concepts about the interaction of living beings and the environment of junior high school students who played the “Selamatkan Dunia Digital!” educational gaming application that has been developed by author in previous studies. This weak experimental study collected pretest and posttest results to determine students' mastery of concepts before and after Intervention. Normalized Gain of the pretest and posttest are assumed to be the effect of the intervention. The results show a low increasing mastery of concept by students who learned by playing game, so this study stated that learning science by using instructional video game media are still not able to facilitate mastery of concept of students.Keywords: interactive media; video game; mastery of conceptsAbstrakDalam dunia pendidikan, banyak penelitian empiris telah berhasil menunjukkan bukti bahwa video game memiliki potensi dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, tetapi kontroversi besar masih ada pada literatur mengenai pengaruh game yang sebenarnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui penggunaan game dalam pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan penguasaan konsep tentang Interaksi makhluk hidup dengan lingkungan siswa SMP.  Game yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah game yang berjudul “Selamatkan Dunia Digital!” yang telah dikembangkan oleh peneliti pada penelitian sebelumnya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu, dengan desain The one-Group Prettest-Posttest Design untuk memperoleh gambaran penguasaan konsep siswa sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Peningkatan nilai pada pretest dan posttest diasumsikan merupakan efek dari perlakuan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan nilai N-gain rata-rata siswa masih dalam kategori rendah, dan pencapaian skor posttest rata-rata siswa juga masih rendah, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran IPA dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran media video game masih belum dapat memfasilitasi penguasaan konsep IPA siswa pada konsep Interaksi Makhluk Hidup dengan Lingkungan.Kata Kunci: media pembelajaran interaktif; video game; penguasaan konsep Permalink/DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.15408/es.v8i2.1576

Abstract Shame is one of the functions of behavioral control in individuals. Since childhood, a child has been introduced to social norms and morality and the consequences of his violations. However, the consequences of violating norms and morals show two different results, namely: shame and guilt. Research on shame in the individualistic culture places more emphasis on the aspect of self-awareness, while the interdependent collective culture places more emphasis on the public aspect. This study used a qualitative survey approach involving 54 junior high school students (male=35; female=19), (M = 19.22, SD = 3.45)  in Banyumas District, Central Java. By using thematic analysis in qualitative survey method, the findings showed that the route of embarrassed emotional attribution subjects confirmed the internal and external attribution routes. The internal attribution route is characterized by the process of feeling guilty of an embarrassing event while the external route is characterized by a publicly known aspect. Sejak kecil, seorang anak telah diperkenalkan dengan norma-norma sosial dan moralitas dan konsekuensi dari pelanggarannya. Namun, konsekuensi dari pelanggaran norma dan moral menunjukkan dua hasil yang berbeda, yaitu: rasa malu dan rasa bersalah. Penelitian tentang rasa malu dalam budaya individualistis lebih menekankan pada aspek kesadaran diri, sedangkan budaya kolektif yang saling bergantung lebih menekankan pada aspek publik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan survei kualitatif yang melibatkan 54 siswa SMP X (laki-laki=35; perempuan=19), (M = 19.22, SD = 3.45) di Kabupaten Banyumas, Jawa Tengah. Dengan menggunakan analisis tematik dalam metode survei kualitatif, temuan menunjukkan bahwa rute subjek atribusi emosional yang malu mengkonfirmasi rute atribusi internal dan eksternal. Rute atribusi internal ditandai mayoritas oleh proses pelanggaran etika dan sebagian kecil oleh perasaan bersalah atas peristiwa yang memalukan, sedangkan rute eksternal ditandai dengan aspek yang diketahui secara publik. This study was aimed to determine the difference of adolescents’ social competence based on their mothers’ working and non-working status and parenting styles. The interaction between mothers’ work status and their parenting styles in determining adolescents’ social competence was also tested. A total number of 292 Junior High School students whose ages ranged from 11 to15 years old were involved in this study. Data were collected using online questionnaires of social Competence and parenting styles and were analyzed using two-way ANOVA. The results reveal no difference in social competence between adolescents whose mothers are working and those whose mothers are not working. However, a significant difference of the adolescents’ social competence was found when it is based on mothers’ parenting styles. The result also shows no interaction between mothers’ working status and their parenting styles.Keywords: Social competence, adolescents, work status, parenting style, mother Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kompetensi sosial pada remaja dengan ibu bekerja dan tidak bekerja dan perbedaan kompetensi sosial pada remaja ditinjau dari pola asuh ibu. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui interaksi antara status pekerjaan ibu dengan pola asuh ibu dalam menentukan kompetensi sosial. Partisipan penelitian adalah 292 remaja siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) yang berusia antara 11-15 tahun. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk koleksi data adalah skala Kompetensi Sosial dan Skala Pola Asuh Ibu. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan Two Way ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan kompetensi sosial pada remaja dengan ibu bekerja dan tidak bekerja. Namun, terdapat perbedaan kompetensi sosial pada remaja ditinjau dari pola asuh ibu. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan tidak terdapat interaksi antara status pekerjaan ibu dengan pola asuh ibu dalam menentukan kompetensi sosial remaja.

The misconception of the Solar System topic is still found in students so that it becomes one of the obstacles in the learning process. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of Predict-Observe-Explain-Apply (POEA) learning to change the junior high school students' conception in the Solar System topic. Quasi-experimental research with the non-equivalent control group design was conducted in one of the private junior high schools in Bandung city. Samples were selected based on the test of the average significance of the pretest score of the population. Furthermore, 30 students of the experimental class and 32 students of control class were selected. The research instrument, which consisted of 15 four-tier diagnostic test questions about Solar System were used to collect data before and after treatment. The tests were analyzed quantitatively by using the Mann-Whitney statistical test to determine the significance of the difference in the acceptable conception changes (Acceptable Change) of students in the experimental class with changes in the conception of students in the control class. The results of the research show that the implementation of POEA learning is significantly more effective than POE learning in changing the conception of Solar System topic. The findings of this study can be an alternative for junior high school teachers in planning learning about the Solar System, especially in an effort to change students' misconception about the Solar System.

Background: The agility is very important for a football player to achieve the desired achievement. It requires training that supports the agility of the biomotoric component. Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect and differentiation of the training of dribbling spheres to form stars with different doses of agility. Method: This study used pre-post group design, where the subjects of junior high school students on Mengwi Badung sub-district were 48 people divided into two groups then given different treatment. Group 1 was given a training on dribbling a star ball with a length of 25 meters as many as 10 reps 2 sets. Group 2 was given training on the same track as many as 5 reps 4 sets. Each group is trained 3 times per week for six weeks. The data obtained were analyzed using t-test formula at 5% significance level. Result: The value of t arithmetic in Groups 1 and Group 2 is greater than t table (respectively 11,679> 2,069 and 8,533> 2,069). The t value of the difference between Group 1 and Group 2 is smaller than t table (1.557 <2.013). Conclusion: It was concluded that there is an effect of the training of dribbling the ball on both groups against agility but no difference in effect Training dribble ball 10 reps 2 sets and 5 reps 4 sets against agility. Suggestion: It is advisable to provide varying training on both types of training to reduce the saturation in exercise.

This qualitative study aims to examine the types and realization of the use of Code Switching communication strategies used by junior high school students when communicating in English as a foreign language. The research subjects were 30 students of SMP N IV Surakarta. The research objects were the types and realization of the use of code switching communication strategies used by students when communicating in English. Data were collected through the elicitation technique in which the participants were given the task to describe a cartoon; their speech was recorded and used as the data source. The data were analyzed qualitatively by inductive techniques using Dornyei and Myers-Scotton analysis frameworks. Research findings were interpreted by using relevant theory. The results showed that the learners used three types of code switching, namely: tag code switching, intra sentential code switching, and inter-sentential code switching. And there were three factors that contributed to the use of code switching, namely mastery of bilingual or bilingual, limited mastery of English, and as a compensation strategy. It can be concluded that the use of code switching by English learners as a foreign language is a natural and unavoidable. Because code switching is one of the communication strategies to compensate for the limited mastery of the target language.

AbstrakKemampuan literasi statistis siswa sekolah menengah pertama masih rendah. Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan kemampuan tersebut dengan melakukan inovasi terhadap model pembelajaran yang diterapkan. Berkaitan dengan peningkatan kemampuan literasi statistis tersebut diterapkan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek yang dimodifikasi. Metode dalam penelitian ini metode kuasi-eksperimen dengan instrumen penelitian soal tes berupa indikator kemampuan literasi statistis. Subjek penelitian siswa kelas VIII pada Madrasah Tsanawiyah berjumlah 36 orang siswa. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat perbedaan kemampuan literasi statistis yang signifikan antara siswa yang mendapat model pembelajaran berbasis proyek yang dimodifikasi dengan model pembelajaran ekspositori. Model pembelajaran berbasis proyek yang dimodifikasi dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif model pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi statistis. Enhancing Statistical Literacy Abilities through Modified Project-Based LearningAbstractThe statistical literacy ability of junior high school students is still low. One way to improve this ability is by innovating the applied learning model. Regarding the increase in statistical literacy skills, a modified project-based learning model is applied. The method in this study is a quasi-experimental method with a research instrument about test questions in the form of indicators of statistical literacy. The research subjects of class VIII students at the Tsanawiyah Madrasah were 36 students. The results of the study are that there are significant differences in statistical literacy skills between students who receive a project-based learning model modified by the expository learning model. The modified project-based learning model can be used as an alternative learning model for improving statistical literacy skills.
