Representation of a tourist destination on the media which able to reach around the world is very crucial in order to introduce and promote it to the large scope of the public. The internet, particularly website is one of the media to let people recognise and realise a destination as the place to visit. A study found most tourists visit and explore an official website and then to respond as if they were planning to travel to the destination (Jeon, et.al, 2017). This indicates that the official website still plays an important role in tourists’ decision making pre-visiting. Jakarta, for example, as one of a tourist destination, at once is also a capital city of Indonesia, central of business in Indonesia and a modern city. Therefore, the concepts of representation play an important role to depict Jakarta as a destination, for example, the use of themes to represent Jakarta as a holiday place on the website, such as focusing on the traditional and modern Jakarta (Djumrianti, 2016). Thus, the purpose of this paper is to analyse how the exoticism concept is used through twenty-five photos and fourteen sections of texts on the official websites which last update in 2014. The study found exoticism idea is one of the strategies used by the Jakarta government in the representation of the city on the Enjoy Jakarta website and the Portal Site of Jakarta Capital City. This concept influences on the commercialisation of Jakarta as a whole a tourist destination.

For more than fifty years, the public service has been a nexus of media organization, development, and regulation in Canada and several countries in the world. Is public service media still relevant in the age of the internet and digital networks? Before directly addressing this question, this article broadly examines the path that has been hewn by public service media, from its origins—when it played a guiding and influential role in the media landscape—through to today—when its dominance is in question. It links together a set of factors that have triggered a process of redefining public service media, one that may allow it to play the new social and cultural role that is expected of it in contemporary societies.Depuis plus de cinquante ans, le service public a constitué un principe ordonnateur central de l’organisation, du développement et de la régulation des médias au Canada et dans plusieurs autres pays. Est-il encore pertinent à l’ère de l’internet et des réseaux numériques ? Après avoir rappelé les conditions d’émergence et le sens du service public en matière de radiodiffusion ainsi que les grandes étapes de son histoire, l’auteur analyse de manière critique les stratégies déployées par le service public médiatique pour relever les défis posés par l’expansion des réseaux numériques. Face à des politiques conservatrices qui mettent en péril son existence même, l’auteur argumente en faveur de la nécessité d’un service public renouvelé et innovateur dans les sociétés contemporaines.

large-scale social restriction make tourists no longer able to visit tourist objects freely like they used to. Research to develop Virtual Traveling of Kutai Kartanegara is one of the media that will be used to support tourism in Kutai district during the Covid-19 pandemic, in a fun way so that it will attract millennials to get to know tourism in Kutai Kartanegara (KUKAR) so it is hoped that tourism objects that will become candidates for the new capital city of Indonesia which is better known in the archipelago. Virtual Traveling is an alternative for traveling without having to go far to the city. Virtual tourism can be an interesting medium to introduce various tourist objects in KUKAR through interactive applications. The purpose of establishing Kutai Kartanegara Virtual Traveling is that KUKAR tourism will be easily introduced to the public with interactive and interesting media. In this research, the method used to build a tourism application is multimedia life-cycle development, starts from concept, design, materials collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. The result, this virtual tourism application can be used as promotional media for the KUKAR Tourism Department

As it is always with new inventions in human history the role they play in their early stages is mostly none acknowledged before they make a more widespread impact. The social media is one of them. Due to the new aspects that this relatively new kind of media its role is mostly negligee in favors of the more vastly popular other forms. In the kind of era that we live technology means that the place where we get the information is irrelevant in the grand scheme of the things, however that does not mean that the impact is lesser or higher. To make the example more clear even though a news that the currency is going to raise or lower in the USA- for example its mostly limited to the USA citizens it has a dire impact in the rest of the world, but even though the means for this news is the generic media, the ones to give the means to understand and make amends to prepare for the consequences to the rest of the world. Due to this kind of functionality is always difficult to separate where the generic forms of the media begin and where the social media begin. What is interesting is that this function of social media begins since the first forms of the internet and it’s just more pronounced nowadays. As an example of this functionality the more prominent one is the way Turkey interfered in the Kosovo Crises. More than the generic news and political affiliation at the time the most impact in the public opinion did the social media. This paper is a research in this regard. It’s not very detailed and it shows a general picture of the situation and only deal with the main aspects of the behavior of the social media, however is a beginning which shows the great impact all forms of communications, especially the social media.

Lendah Batik Industry Center Kulon Progo is an area located in the Industrial Center Lendah District of Kulon Progo Regency in the region where there are range between 10 – 18 Batik Craftsmen Group and more than 50 batik batik consisting of fixed and home . In this area there are a variety of motives in each production site .The results show that efforts to do in increasing the number of tourists visiting Batik Industry Center at Lendah Kulon Progo is to continue to promote the production through the exhibition by distributing business cards and brochures , promotion through social media such as fuel and the Internet . Participation provided by the public such as batik Batik Industry Center region such as batik previous work has had more than 30 years as a batik in the city of Yogyakarta . Constraints faced by the group of craftsmen Batik as geographical location far from the city center . Accessibility is slightly delayed due to impassable roads is a main road for trucs of sand miners . Then the lack of insight Craftsmen Batik Group in operating accounts only a few social media accounts batik craftsmen group that uses the media. Economies all over the world are moving towards a focus on services. Tourism has emerged as a major contributor to economies all over the world. This is why specific focus is being placed on tourism, as Destination Management Organizations (DMOs) concentrate their efforts on tourism. India has been one of the countries where the share of tourism in national income has steadily been increasing. As the national capital, the city of Delhi has a major role to play in the tourist inflow to the country, as well as within the country. Successful tourism marketing requires that the concepts of tourist destination and underlying factors are comprehended in detail. An analysis of the available, pertinent literature on the area shows the manner in which numerous factors come together to form the image of a tourist destination. In fact, it needs to be understood that image formation may be done differently for different consumers. This further necessitates a detailed study of the factors influencing tourist destination image.

As is described in this conclusion, more than the media and culture, Madrid’s public space constituted the primary arena where reactions and attitudes toward social conflict and inequalities were negotiated. Social conflict in the public space found expression through musical performance, as well as through the rise of noise that came with the expansion and modernization of the city. Through their impact on public health and morality, noise and unwelcomed musical practices contributed to the refinement of Madrid’s city code and the modernization of society. The interference of vested political interests, however, made the refining of legislation in these areas particularly difficult. Analysis of three musical practices, namely, flamenco, organilleros, and workhouse bands, has shown how difficult it was to adopt consistent policies and approaches to tackling the forms of social conflict that were associated with musical performance.

This article uses the materials of the Drezdensha affair, a large-scale investigation of “indecency” in St. Petersburg in 1750, to explore unofficial sociability among the Imperial elite, and to map out the institutional, social, and economic dimensions of the post-Petrine “sexual underworld.” Sociability and, ultimately, the public sphere in eighteenth century Russia are usually associated with loftier practices, with joining the ranks of the reading public, reflecting on the public good, and generally, becoming more civil and polite. Yet, it is the privately-run, commercially-oriented, and sexually-charged “parties” at the focus of this article that arguably served as a “training ground” for developing the habits of sociability. The world of these “parties” provides a missing link between the debauchery and carousing of Peter I's era and the more polite formats of associational life in the late eighteenth century, as well as the historical context for reflections on morality, sexual licentiousness, foppery, and the excesses of “westernization.”

Public spaces are designed and managed in many different ways. In Hanoi, after the Doi moi policy in 1986, the transfer of the public spaces creation at the neighborhood-level to the private sector has prospered na-ture of public and added a large amount of public space for the city, directly impacting on citizen's daily life, creating a new trend, new concept of public spaces. This article looks forward to understanding the public spaces-making and operating in KDTMs (Khu Do Thi Moi - new urban areas) in Hanoi to answer the question of whether ‘socialization’/privatization of these public spaces will put an end to the urban public or the new means of public-making trend. Based on the comparison and literature review of studies in the world on public spaces privatization with domestic studies to see the differences in the Vietnamese context leading to differences in definitions and roles and the concept of public spaces in KDTMs of Hanoi. Through adducing and analyzing practical cases, the article also mentions the trends, the issues, the ways and the technologies of public-making and public-spaces-making in KDTMs of Hanoi. Win/loss and the relationship of the three most important influential actors in this process (municipality, KDTM owners, inhabitants/citizens) is also considered to reconceptualize the public spaces of KDTMs in Hanoi.

В статье рассматривается специфика бытования музыкального фольклора теленгитов селения Язула Улаганского района Республики Алтай в условиях транзитивности (по материалам полевых исследований 2003 и 2019 гг.). Музыкальный фольклор теленгитов обособленного селения характеризуется полистадиальностью, «вероятностной» (поливекторной, нелинейно меняющейся) природой развития, увеличением культурного разнообразия и трансформацией моноязычной культурной среды в многоязычную в лингвистическом, музыкальном и бытовом планах. Каналами инокультурного влияния на интонационное поле теленгитской музыкальной традиции сегодня выступают радио, Интернет и телевидение, сельский клуб, доступная транспортная связь с городом, международные курултаи сказителей . При расширении сферы бытования различных форм фольклоризма (советского, российского, алтайского) песенная фольклорная традиция теленгитов продолжает существовать исключительно в обрядовом контексте (закрыто от глаз приезжих). Владение каем - особым типом интонирования, характерным для тюрков Горного Алтая, маркирующим их этнокультурную идентичность, - востребовано сегодня со стороны туристов, региональной администрации и общественности, что ведет к миграции носителей этой традиции из обособленных селений в центральные. Трансформация искусства кая обусловлена единым процессом глобализации/глокализации, переходом от традиционного контекста бытования к сценическому фольклоризму, проникновением инокультурных интонационных форм в звуковой ландшафт теленгитских селений. This article focuses on the current state of Telengit music culture in Yazula Village (Ulagan Region, Republic of Altai) in conditions of transitivity. The material presented is based on field studies in 2003 and 2019. The Telengit musical folklore of this territorially isolated village is characterized by polystadiality; the “probabilistic,” non-linear nature of its development; by an increase of cultural diversity; and by the transformation of a monolingual environment into a multi-lingual one in linguistic, musical and ontological terms. Channels for outside cultural influence on the intonational field of the Telengit musical tradition include: radio, television, the Internet, the local club, transportation to the city; and International Kurultai of storytellers. In the presence of different forms of folklore (Soviet, Russian, Altaian) performed in the village club, the village folksong tradition continues to live on exclusively in a ritual context (inaccessible to outsiders). The mastery of kai as a specific type of intonation, typical for the Turks of Gorny Altai, that marks their ethnocultural identity, is in demand today by tourists, regional administrations and the public. This leads to the migration of carriers of this tradition out of isolated settlements into more central ones. The transformation of the art of kai in modern Telengit culture is conditioned by the process of globalization/glocalization; by the change of kai’s function in a traditional context to that of staged folklorism; and by the penetration of other cultural intonational forms into the soundscape of Telengit villages.
