This study evaluated hide and skin marketing in Adamawa State, Nigeria, with the aim of describing the socioeconomic variables of the marketers, determining the marketing efficiency and major socioeconomic factors that influenced participation in the area. Purposive and simple random sampling methods were used in the selection of four large and small ruminant markets, and 120 hide and skin marketers, respectively. Descriptive statistics, Marketing Efficiency (ME) and regression analysis were employed in the analyses of data. Results show that all the marketers were males (100%) and married (66.67%) within middle-aged group. A larger proportion (40.00%) had secondary school education and fairly experienced in the business. The most popular (51.67%) channel of hide and skin marketing was producer-rural collector-urban collector-wholesaler-tanneries, with a very efficient marketing (178.52%). Further, the level of education and marketing experience of marketers and the average purchasing price of hide and skin were found to heavily influence the marketing output in the area. The major challenges experienced were insufficiency of capital (88.33%), multiple taxations on transit (71.66%) and quality deterioration (63.33%). It is recommended that institutions that intend to improve on hide and skin marketing in the State and areas with similar economic terrains should resolve the aspect of inadequacy of funds, minimise tax on products, and employ efficient extension services to tackle spoilage.

This study was conducted to evaluate the perception of secondary school students on recycling programs at Datuk Peter Mojuntin's school in Penampang, Sabah. The study involved quantitative methods with questionnaires used to collect data and also qualitatively to examine students' perceptions of recycling programs and recycling bins. A total of 180 respondents were assigned through simple random sampling and the selection of respondents was fourth-grade students studying in this school. Descriptive statistics by percentage were obtained for use in the analysis of the study. The selected study sample represents the entire student body of the school which aims to provide feedback on the implementation of various recycling programs to foster recycling practices within the students. The results show that schoolchildren are aware of the various recycling programs and they are also aware of the importance of recycling but putting this into practice is difficult. Overall analysis shows that students' perceptions and involvement in recycling programs are low. Therefore, all parties in the school district should work together and work hard to ensure that students are aware of the importance of implementing recycling programs in order to address the problem of waste in schools which in turn promotes recycling practices in students. It is hoped that such a program will transform the practice and attract students' attention and interest in various recycling programs, while also educating students to love the environment and to maintain the cleanliness of the school.

Using data from an enumerated network of worldwide flight connections between airports, we examine how sampling designs and sample size influence network metrics. Specifically, we apply three types of sampling designs: simple random sampling, nonrandom strategic sampling (i.e., selection of the largest airports), and a variation of snowball sampling. For the latter sampling method, we design what we refer to as a controlled snowball sampling design, which selects nodes in a manner analogous to a respondent-driven sampling design. For each design, we evaluate five commonly used measures of network structure and examine the percentage of total air traffic accounted for by each design. The empirical application shows that (1) the random and controlled snowball sampling designs give rise to more efficient estimates of the true underlying structure, and (2) the strategic sampling method can account for a greater proportion of the total number of passenger movements occurring in the network.
