This research aims at finding out the types of errors committed by the students in making wh questions. The researcher applies descriptive research. It is used to describe the errors of the students. in making wh-questions. The population of this research is the second year students of SMP Negeri 2 Bua Ponrang. The total number of population in this research is 240 students. The researcher uses purposive sampling technique in determining class VIII A. Therefore, the total number of sample in this research is 28 students. Based on the result of data analysis, the researcher concludes the types of error that the second year students at SMP Negeri 2 Bua Ponrang committed in making wh-questions are omission, simple addition, archi-form, alternating form, misordering, and miselection. The omission is dominant errors that the students made because from 1017 of total errors, 475 or 46.7% of the total errors are omission. Then, it followed by archi-form with the total errors is 275 or 28%, 155 errors of simple addition or 15.2%, 93 errors of misordering or 9.1%, 11 errors of alternating form or 1.1%, and the least types of errors is miselection with 8 errors or 0.8%.

This study aims to determine the effect of emotional intelligence on the learning achievement of class VIII junior high school. This type of research is quantitative research. The population in this study is all students of class VIII SMP N 2  Kupang and the research sample is class VIII D students with the sampling technique is simple ramdom sampling. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and mathematics learning achievement tests. Data analysis was carried out in two ways, namely the SPSS program. From the results of the analysis, based on the tests of normality, linearity, significance, emotional intelligence has an influence on mathematics learning achievement and was obtained by equation of regression Y = 0,642X and t-count = 4.272 > 2, 052 = t table then, a push H0, it means that there is a significant effect of emotional intelligence on learning achievement. Based on the results of the study, the researcher concluded that there was a significant effect of emotional intelligence on mathematics learning achievement of class VIII students of SMPN 2 Kota Kupang.

AbstrakUsia anak SMP umumnya mengikuti suatu kegitan hanya didasari dengan ketertarikan atau hanya meniru teman saja tanpa tahu tujuannya. Kenyataanya seseorang melakukan suatu aktivitas atau kegiatan selalu didasari dengan adanya motivasi dan minat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi minat siswa memilih ekstrakurikuler bulutangkis di SMP Purwokerto, yang terdiri dari faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP 1 Muhammadiyah Purwokerto dan SMP Al Irsyad Purwokerto yang mengikuti kegiatan ekstrakurikuler bulutangkis dengan total sampel sebanyak 65 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah total sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket/kuisoner, dokumentasi, dan observasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Hasil dan kesimpulan penelitian menunjukkan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi minat siswa memilih ekstrakurikuler bulutangkis di SMP Purwokerto, dari faktor internal sebanyak 36,05% dengan indikator rasa senang sebesar 18,14% dan indikator ketertarikan sebesar 17,91%. Sedangkan untuk faktor eksternal mempengaruhi minat siswa memilih ekstrakurikuler bulutangkis sebanyak 63,95%, terdiri dari indikator pelatih 16,22%, indikator lingkungan 16,27%, indikator fasilitas 15,71% dan indikator keluarga 15,75%.Kata kunci: Faktor, Minat Siswa, Ekstrakurikuler, BulutangkisDETERMINING FACTORS OF INTEREST IN MIDDLE SCHOOL EXTRACURRICULAR STUDENTS IN PURWOKERTO AbstractThe junior high school student’s generally follows an activity only based on interest or just imitating friends without knowing their purpose. In fact, someone doing an activity or action is always based on of motivation and interest. This study aims to determine the faktors that influence students' interest in choosing badminton extracurricular at Purwokerto junior high school, which consists of internal faktorsand external faktors. This type of research is descriptive research. The population in this study were students of Purwokerto junior high school 1 Muhammadiyah and Al Irsyad Purwokerto junior high school who participated in badminton extracurricular activities with a total sample of 60 students.  Sampling technique in this study is total sampling. Data collection techniques was using questionnaires / questionnaires, documentation, and observation. The data analysis technique used in this study is descriptive with a quantitative approach.  The result and conclusion showed that the faktors that influence student’s interest in choosing badminton extracurricular at Purwokerto junior high school were 36.05% from internal faktors with 18.14% pleasure indikators and 17.91% interest indikators. Whereas for external faktors affect the interest of students choosing badminton extracurricular as much as 63.95%, consisting of 16.22% coach indikators, 16.27% environmental indikators, 15.71% facility indikators and 15.75% family indikators. <p><em>This research is a qualitative descriptive research aims to (1) describe and explain the structure of folklore of Purbalingga District, (2) to describe and explain the social care values contained in Purbalingga District folklore, (3) describe and explain the relevance of folklore as the character buildingand teaching material in Junior High School. Data and information are collected through informants and documents. Data collection is done through observation, recording, interview, and document analysis. Research sample is determined by purposive sampling technique. Validation of data is done by triangulation. The results of this research are:</em></p><em>(1) the structure of folklore Purbalingga District, (2) social caring values contained in Purbalingga District folklore, (3) relevance of folklore as the character building and teaching material in Junior High School.</em>

The learning independence of students is still low as the background of the implementation of this research. The purpose of this research is to describe the independence of students using Lesson study and Problem Based Learning models in mathematics learning. This type of research is descriptive research. The population is all students of class VIII of Junior High School Pertiwi 2 Padang in 2019/2020. Sampling was done by purposive sampling and determined class VIII-2. The research instruments were the learning independence questionnaire and the Lesson Study observation sheet. Analysis of learning independence data is described based on the results of the pretest and protest scores. The Lesson Study was carried out in 4 rounds using the Problem Based Learning model which included Plan, do, and See activities. The results showed that there was an increase in students' learning independence through the implementation of Lesson study with the Problem Based Learning model.

The problem of this research was initiated by the learning process of Physical, Sport and Health Education which was not run well. This research was aimed at revealing the students’ intrinsic and extrinsic motivation toward the learning process of Physical, Sport and Health Education subject at SMP N 1 Kota Payakumbuh. This was a descriptive research. The population of the research was all of students (287) in grade VIII of SMP N 4 Kota Payakumbuh. By using random sampling technique, 20% (55 students) of the population were takenas the sample. The data were obtained by making use of the questionnaire of Gudman’s scale. The data gathered then were analyzed by using statistic of descriptive percentage. Based on the results of data analysis, it was figured out that: 1) the students’ intrinsic motivation toward Physical, Sport and Health Education subject at SMP N 4 Kota Payakumbuh is 44.6% (average), and 2) thestudents’ extrinsic motivation toward Physical, Sport and Health Education subject is 41.8% (average). From these results, it is concluded that the students’ motivation toward Physical, Sport and Health Education subject, in general, is in average category.

This article examines the referential meaning of children's names in SMA N 1 Karanggede grade X MIPA 1. This article aims to (1) find the referential meaning of the child's name (2) explains the content of the referential meaning of the child's name (3) describes the utilization of the referential meaning of the child's name as teaching material Indonesian language learning class VIII junior high school. The data in this study are referential meanings of children's names. Sources of data came from parents and students in SMA N 1 Karanggede, especially in class X MIPA 1. Data collection techniques used interviews and questionnaires. The validity used is source triangulation. The data analysis technique uses the referential equivalent method. The results of this study are, First, the referential meaning of the child's name refers to objects (23names) and properties (13names). Second, the meaning of the name of the child based on the giver's name refers to: prayer or hope (21), time of birth (7), order of birth (2), inspiration (6). Third, the use of referential meanings of children's names in Indonesian language learning in VIII grade of SMP is related to basic competencies 4.1 Concludes the content of the news (boast and motivate what is read and heard). The material used is news text taken from the name giving of children in SMA N 1 Karanggede which motivates.

This study aimed to determine the types and the causes of students' errors in finding the results of reflection in the field of coordinates based on the Newman problem-solving. This research used descriptive research with a quantitative approach.  The data collection techniques were written test and a structured interview with the research subjects were Nints-grade students of Junior High School 2 Sampit.  Based on the results of the data analysis, there were errors made by students, namely: (1) there were no mistakes in the problem of reading stage, (2) students were not able to write down the known and asked even though students understood the questions presented in the stage of understanding the problem, (3) did not change the questions into a coordinate field in the stage of transformation problem, (4) misplaced of the result reflection and miscalculating the result of reflection on the process skill stage, (5) did not writing down the answers or conclusions in the writing answers stage.

This study aimed to analyze the language error on the Bahasa Indonesia National Examination instrument test of the Junior High School in 2012/2013 academic year. The research were qualitative descriptive research. The data analyzed the twenty packets of Bahasa Indonesia National Examination instrument test Secondary School Examination in 2012/2013. Twenty packages National Secondary School Examination in 2012/2013 were qualitative data. Data were collected from a package about twenty National Exams then was analyzed by using the language errors. The types of errors found in language packages about twenty Bahasa Indonesia National Examination in 2012/2013 were faults field of phonology, morphology and syntax. The results showed that language errors that occur in twenty packets Discuss Indonesian National Examination in 2013 as many as 58 data. Data analysis results was presented in accordance with the type of language errors that indicate an error in the twenty language packs Indonesian National Examination in 2013, both in the areas of phonology, morphology, and syntax.

This research deals with the development of the assessment’s instrument based on higher order thinking skills to measure dimension of persuasive text skills on students of class VIII in junior high school Muhammadiyah 7 Medan. The type of this research is research and development. The sampling technique used in this study is purposive sampling technique. The result shows that the process of developing assessment instruments is based on Higher Order Thinking Skills on Indonesian language subjects in junior high school Muhammadiyah 7 Medan through 4 stages, there are: (1) Preparation of Tests, (2) Selection of Media (3) Selection of Formats (4) Initial design results by composing stories board, make layouts by paying attention to the color and composition and fill the layout with activities in the form of, activity 1 contains the mapping of KI, KD, and indicators, as well as 10 multiple choice questions and 5 description questions. Activity 2 contains the mapping of KI, KD, and indicators as well as 15 multiple choice questions and 5 description questions and scoring, answer keys, glossary and bibliography.

ABSTRAK           Latar belakang: Bencana merupakan sebuah peristiwa fisik, fenomena atau aktivitas manusia yang memiliki potensi merusak yang menyebabkan kehilangan nyawa atau cedera, kerusakan harta benda, struktur. Tinggal di negara rawan bencana membuat masyarakat harus selalu siaga dalam menghadapi bencana. SMP Negeri 1 Selo adalah salah satu SMP yang terkena dampak erupsi Merapi tahun 2010. SMP ini berada di Kecamatan Selo, jarak sekolah ini sekitar 10km dari puncak Merapi. Saat erupsi Merapi tahun 2010 sekitar 600 siswa dan guru mengungsi karena adanya gempa, hujan abu vulkanik dan lahar panas yang turun dari puncak. Tujuan Penelitian: Untuk mengetahui faktor yang berhubungan dengan kesiapsiagaan remaja pada kejadian bencana di SMP N 1 Selo Kabupaten Boyolali. Metode Penelitian : Desain penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survei yang sifatnya deskriptif analitik dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII dan IX yang berjumlah 311 murid di SMP Negeri 1 Selo. Sampel menggunakan rumus sampel dengan jumlah 76 responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah Proportionate Stratified Random Sampel. Instrumen penelitian adalah kuesioner. Pengolahan data menggunakan analisa data chi Square. Hasil Penelitian : Responden dalam penelitian ini sebagian besar berumur 15 tahun yaitu 33 responden (43,7%), mayoritas memiliki jenis kelamin perempuan dan sebagian besar responden kelas IX. Kesiapsiagaan dalam menghadapi bencana mayoritas responden siap dalam menghadapi bencana yaitu  57 responden (75,0%). Ada hubunganantara umur dengan kesiapsiagaan dalam menghadapi bencana dengan p value =0,000 (?=0,05). Ada hubungan antara jenis kelamin dengan kesiapsiagaan dalam menghadapi bencana dengan p value =0,015 (?=0,05). Ada hubung anantara kelas dengan kesiapsiagaan dalam menghadapi bencana dengan p value =0,001 (?=0,05). Kesimpulan: Ada hubungan umur, jenis kelamin dan kelas dengan kesiapsiagaan dalam menghadapi bencana.Kata kunci : Umur, Jenis kelamin, Kelas, Kesiapsiagaan menghadapi bencanaFACTORS RELATING TO PREPAREDNESS TEENAGERS IN A DISASTER  IN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL  1 SELO BOYOLALI DISTRICTABSTRACTBackground: A disaster is a physical event, phenomenon or human activity that has the potential to damage it causing loss of life or injury, damage to property, structures. Living in a disaster-prone country means that people must always be prepared in the face of disasters. SMP Negeri 1 Selo is one of the junior high schools affected by the Merapi eruption in 2010. This junior high school is located in Selo District, the distance of this school is about 10 km from the peak of Merapi. During the eruption of Merapi in 2010, around 600 students and teachers were displaced due to the earthquake, rain of volcanic ash and hot lava that fell from the summit. Research Objectives: To determine the factors related to the preparedness of adolescents in the event of a disaster in SMP N 1 Selo, Boyolali Regency. Methods: This research design is a survey research which is descriptive analytic with cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were students of class VIII and IX, amounting to 311 students at SMP Negeri 1 Selo. The sample used a sample formula with a total of 76 respondents. The sampling technique in this study was the Proportionate Stratified Random Sample. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Data processing using chi Square data analysis. Results: Most of the respondents in this study were 15 years old, namely 33 respondents (43.7%), the majority were female and most of the respondents were class IX. Preparedness in facing disasters, the majority of respondents were ready to face disasters, namely 57 respondents (75.0%). There is a relationship between age and disaster preparedness with p value = 0.000 (? = 0.05). There is a relationship between gender and disaster preparedness with p value = 0.015 (? = 0.05). There is a relationship between classes and preparedness in facing disasters with p value = 0.001 (? = 0.05). Conclusion: There is a relationship between age, sex and class with disaster preparedness.Keywords: Age, gender, class, disaster preparedness
