The growth of energy consumption entails an increase in the production of hydrocarbons, the number of fields, which are involved in this process, and the territory of license areas. Overall, environmental impact may be increased. Northern territories of our country are more exposed to anthropogenic impact from the oil and gas facilities because of huge oil and gas reserves availability. Therefore, the strategic developments for the greening of production on the basis of the concept of sustainable exploitation of these territories are very important. Suggested concept involves a balanced activity that provides high economic efficiency and environmental safety, aimed at reducing adverse anthropogenic consequences.The assessment of the impact of oil and gas facilities on the environment was carried out in the territory of the West Chatylkinsky field of Krasnoselkupsky district of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The results obtained allowed assessing the degree of impact of cluster sites and communication corridors of the objects of the land and property complex of the oil field and developing recommendations to reduce adverse anthropogenic consequences in order to protect the environment and ensure the greening of land use.

The article highlights the problems of the negative impact of oil and gas facilities on the environment Northern territories this necessitates the development of measures for the greening of land use based on the results of an environmental impact assessment and decision-making to minimize or eliminate them. The article presents the results of the environmental impact assessment of oil and gas facilities, zoning is conducted by the degree of impact and criteria for the degree of impact are defined. The results of the environmental impact assessment made it possible to assess the degree of anthropogenic impact of the study object and to develop recommendations for reducing adverse industrial effects in order to protect the environment.

The implementation of plastic details in various constructions enables to reduce the prime cost and labor intensity of machine and device manufacturing, decrease the weight of design and improve their quality and reliability at the same time. The studies were carried out with the aim of labor productivity increase and substitution of colored and black metals with plastic masses. For this purpose, the details with certain characteristics were selected for further implementation of developed technological process in oil-gas industry. The paper investigates the impact of cylinder and compression mold temperature on the quality parameters (shrinkage and hardness) of plastic details in oil-field equipment. The accessible boundaries of quality indicators of the details operated in the equipment of exploration, drilling and exploitation of oil and gas industry are studied in a wide range of mode parameters. The mathematic dependences between quality parameters (shrinkage and hardness) of the details on casting temperature are specified.

Every few decades, the world order changes due to various geopolitical, economic and other circumstances. For example, as a result of globalization, the world order has undergone significant changes in the last forty years. Globalization has led to the destruction of the postwar world order, as well as to world leadership by the United States and the West. However, in recent decades, as a result of globalization, the U.S. and the West began to cede their leadership to developing countries, so there is now a change in the economic structure of relations in the world system. Today the center of economic growth is in the East, namely in Asia. There are no new superpowers in the world at the moment, but the unipolar world will cease to exist due to the weakening of the U. S. leadership, which will lead to a change in the world order. A new leader, which may replace the U. S., will not have as wide range of advantages as the USA has. Most likely, the essence of the new order will be to unite the largest countries and alliances into blocks, for example, the USA together with the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the EU, etc. The article outlines forecasts of GDP growth rates as well as the global energy outlook; analyzes the LNG market as well as the impact of the pandemic on the global oil and gas market; and lists the characteristics of U. S. geopolitics.

<p><em>This study aims to analyze a blowout from an oil and gas leak owned by PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP) Australasia in the Montara oil field in the Indonesian Timor Sea, and how to resolve disputes between Australia and Indonesia. A qualitative approach was used in this study, whilst the data collection technique was through library research. The theory of state responsibility, the concept of human security, and the concept of international maritime law are used to analyze disputes between Indonesia and Australia. The study found that the Montara oil spill had not only damaged the marine ecosystem but also polluted Indonesian waters. It also found that although the Australian government had formed a special commission to resolve cases and even used dispersant, it had not satisfied all parties. Several points are summarized. First, the Montara oil spill in Australia is a transnational study because the impact has crossed national borders. Secondly, UNCLOS has a weakness in the settlement of the Montara case because the Convention only provides a description related to ‘Responsibility of Each Country’ and does not specifically arrange material compensation mechanisms to countries that cause sea pollution. Third, the Montara oil spill has caused huge losses for Indonesian seaweed farmers, especially 13 districts in NTT. The recommendations are that the Indonesian government along with the Montara Victim Peoples’ Advocacy Team should continue to follow up the case of oil spills from the Montara platform and continue to fight for compensation to the Australian government and the PTTEP as the responsible party.</em></p>

Development of the Russian oil and gas fields in the Arctic requires ensuring industrial and environmental safety of conduct of the operations. Large and unique oil and gas condensate fields are discovered in the southern part of the Kara Sea. The Kamennomysskoye-Sea, Severo-Kamennomysskoye, Semakovskoye, Parusovoye, etc. gas condensate fields are located in the Ob Bay of the Kara Sea. The raw material base of the Severo-Obskoye gas condensate field, unique in terms of the reserves, will become the basis for future Arctic LNG projects. Based on the published data, the initial recoverable total hydrocarbon resources in the Ob and Taz bays are about seven billion tons. Active exploration and commissioning of the already discovered fields require the large volumes of well drilling in a freezing sea, the presence of permafrost, and gas hydrates. During construction of the wells and operation of the offshore ice-resistant oil and gas production platforms, it is required to ensure the disposal of drilling waste (cuttings) and domestic water. There are two technologies for waste disposal — injection into the reservoir or into the clay formations. The first one is used in onshore fields, the second one — on the shelf. Injection into a clay reservoir is successfully used in the Lunskoye gas field on the shelf of the Sakhalin island, and on the Prirazlomnoye oil field in the Pechora Sea. The possibility of using the method and the selection of a reservoir for injecting waste into it requires a geological justification, and the reservoir should ensure a stable injectivity of the required volume. The article presents the results of modeling the injection into the formation of drilling waste, and the waste of the household activities for the Kamennomysskoe-Sea gas condensate field. Calculation was made concerning the zone of absorption of the technological waste into the designed well of the offshore ice-resistant stationary platform. Formation allocation for waste injection was made according to the data of a complex of offshore wells geophysical studies. Three packs of sandy-argillaceous rocks with high reservoir properties were selected as the object of industrial waste disposal. Сalculation was carried out related to the radius of the spread of waste (effluent) in the target reservoir considering drilling and operation of twenty five wells, the construction of which is planned for five years. The results of modeling the process of pumping industrial waste of various types into an absorption well showed that the planned volumes can be successfully disposed of in the selected objects. This will allow to ensure functioning of the marine industry and its environmental safety.

Developing deepwater oil and gas resource is the trend of oil industry development. It is important to select a proper development scenario and riser system which works as a key tool to connect subsea equipment and surface body in a deepwater project. Based on the West Africa’s deepwater target field CNOOC owned, this paper designs a detailed development scenario-FPSO +SPS +Shuttle tanker according to the following factors: well, reservoir layout, environment, floaters availability, commercial considerations. Floater and riser selection interact with each other. Considering the development scenario, a basic method for selecting a proper riser system is presented. As a result, FSHR is selected from existing risers based on technology, reliability, risk and cost.

On the example of the Priobskoye oil field of the West Siberian oil and gas province, we show the relevance of studying thin-layered oil-saturated reservoirs, as well as consider the corresponding world experience. The operating principle of a probe system with toroidal sources and receivers is described, after which we perform 2D finite-difference simulation and analysis of its signals in typical geoelectric reservoir models. The dependence of the signals on the resistivity anisotropy coefficient is demonstrated. In realistic geoelectric sections of the Priobskoye field, obtained by numerical inversion of BKZ field data, 2D finite-difference simulation for the system with toroids is conducted. It implies the fundamental possibility of investigating thin-layered electrically anisotropic deposits of the Priobskoye field by means of the system with toroidal sources and receivers.


Statement of the problem and paper objective. Current challenges address global and regional threats to biotic and landscape diversity and the urgent need for its conservation, restoration and reproduction. They make it necessary to improve the tools for conceptual, information and calculating assessment of human activities impact on the environment. That is why the study of the landscapes anthropization, i.e. the process of their transformation through human activity, and the identification of the effects of this anthropization on the environment remains the most pressing problem of geography and geoecology. Given this, the paper objective was to substantiate, develop and verify new and sufficiently informative analytical tools for modeling anthropogenic impact of the land use and/or land cover (LULC) system on landscapes and/or physic-geographic taxons. Methods and results. The experience shows that the resumptive graphic solutions for the analysis of anthropogenic impact on landscapes can be correctly represented in the form of certain modified graphs of statistics. So, the classified scheme of the LULC system areas' cumulative distribution in landscapes and/or physic-geographic taxons was substantiated and constructed as analytical tool for modeling anthropogenic impact on landscapes / taxons. The scheme is based on the concept that the types of the mentioned distribution in its shape are adequate a certain category and the intensity of anthropogenic impact on landscapes or taxons. Properly the distribution of LULC system areas was typified by the ranges for the parameter of polynomial trends in the cumulative graphs of these areas in landscapes or their aggregations. Under these conditions, the scheme of areas' cumulative distribution operates with ten types of distribution – from excessively convex to excessively concave. These types also reflect different anthropogenic impacts on taxons – from weak to excessively strong. Verification of the scheme calculating LULC system areas' cumulative distribution was realized for the test megaregion, including 30 physic-geographic areas and 130 physic-geographic districts of the five regions in the zones of mixed (coniferous / broad-leaved) and broad-leaved forests and forest-steppe of Ukraine. Relevant digital choropleths concerning anthropogenic impact on these taxons were simulated and analyzed. Scientific novelty and practical significance. Scientific novelty is determined by the reason that the developed scheme and obtained model results are more parametrically diverse than in the existing procedures. This is caused by the fact that the proposed tools are more informative and statistically effective for identification of anthropogenic impact on landscapes and physic-geographic taxons than the average-weighted and other calculating anthropization indexes or schemes for consideration the impact of only dominant LULC systems. The verification of the developed tools for the test megaregion affirmed the general validity of the proposed new methodical approaches. The paper results are applicable for the improvement of procedures, schemes and projects of environmental management for plain terrestrial landscapes and their aggregations in midlatitudes.

Research background: An indicator system is proposed to determine the nature of environmental and economic sustainability in the oil and gas industry. Purpose of the article: The main purpose here is based on the experience of developed countries and the safety practices of enterprises, which are widely used in the world as well as in terms of environmental efficiency. This indicator is used to identify the impact of the oil and gas industry on the environment and environmental-economic and social indices. Methods: Based on various experiences and indices, development and application of indicators is of great importance in terms of development strategies for enterprise formation, elimination of prerequisite in the change of environmental factors, social responsibility and environmental safety. These indicators can be used to establish the environmental rate of the enterprise. Important features of these indicators are their universality, their use in any fuel and energy complex. Findings & Value added: Its activity specificity (environmental and economic) is to evaluate the cost of damage. One of its distinctive features is to carry out accounting of the interaction between all environmental and economic character of the enterprise. This experience is already used in the Russian gas industry. Thus, this system demonstrates its applicability in environmental management and optimization of enterprise operation. In Russia, development of significant environmental management of the country in terms of environmental and economic financing, assessment of environmental impact is carried out in accordance with ISA 14000 standards.

Abstract The pandemic has significantly worsened the situation of oil and gas companies, causing a decline in demand and prices on the global energy market. In this crisis situation, there is an urgent need to review the organizational activities of companies, within which there is an interest in studying the impact of corporate social responsibility on the sustainability of companies and their environmental safety. Despite a sufficient number of empirical works studying the impact of corporate social responsibility on environmental indicators, there are not enough works in foreign and domestic literature studying this relationship on the example of the oil and gas industry. The purpose of this work is to determine the impact of corporate social responsibility on the environmental sustainability of oil and gas companies. The object of this study is corporate social responsibility, and the subject is the impact of corporate social responsibility on the sustainability of oil and gas companies.
