The study was aimed to examine the challenges of English curriculum implementation at higher secondary level in Punjab. The study is quantitative in nature. The sample of the study was comprised of 429 English teachers teaching at the higher secondary level. A stratified sampling technique was used to select the sample. The data were collected through the survey research method and were analyzed by applying descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the study showed that English teachers face challenges in English curriculum implementation, such as lack of communication skill, inappropriate teacher trainings, teaching method and methodology, lack of teaching resources and aids, inappropriate assessment procedures, misalignment of the content of English textbook, insufficient institutional resources and inappropriate government policies regarding English curriculum implementation. The results of the study suggested giving motivation to English teachers by providing attractive incentives, appropriate training programs and proper supervision of curriculum implementation of English subject.

The study was aimed to examine the issues of English curriculum implementation at higher secondary level schools in Punjab. The study is quantitative in nature. The sample of the study was comprised of 429 English teachers teaching at higher secondary level schools. Stratified sampling technique was used to select the sample and one instrument was used for data collection named Issues of English Curriculum Implementation Questionnaire (IECIQ) comprised of 58 items developed by the researcher on a 5-point Likert scale from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree). The reliability of questionnaire of issues on English curriculum implementation was found .82. The instrument was also validated from 5 experts of relevant areas which assisted in refining language, clarity in items and sentence structure. The data were collected through survey research method and were analyzed by applying descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the study showed that English teachers used to face issues in English curriculum implementation at higher secondary level schools such as lack of communication skill, inappropriate teacher trainings, teaching method and methodology, multicultural society, lack of social and ethical development of students, lack of teaching resources and aids, inappropriate assessment procedures, misalignment of the content of English textbook, insufficient institutional resources, inappropriate government policies regarding English curriculum implementation and immeasurability of students learning outcomes written in English curriculum document. The results of the study suggested to give motivation to English teachers by providing attractive incentives, appropriate training programs and proper supervision of curriculum implementation of English subject.

This study was designed to explore the issues of English curriculum implementation at higher secondary level in Punjab. The study was qualitative in nature, and the sample was selected by using a purposive sampling technique that comprised 10 English teachers. One interview protocol named issues of English curriculum implementation was used to collect the data, and thematic analysis was applied to analyze the participants interview transcripts. The interview protocol was also validated by experts. The results of the study showed that English teachers faced various issues of social and ethical development, ensuring the quality of the English language, the validity of curriculum, multiculturalism and textbook alignment with curriculum document. The results of the study suggested giving motivation to English teachers in order to apply effective communication skills in teaching the English language as well as to reduce issues by providing funds, facilitating English teachers and proper supervision of curriculum implementation of English subject.

The research was accomplished to investigate the perceptions of elemantary- school teachers on using Situational Language Teaching method in teaching vocabulary. The aims of this study were to examine the advantages of using situational language teaching method in teaching vocabularies and to investigate English teachers’challenges of using Situational Language Teaching method in teaching vocabulary. This research was completed by using a qualitative approach and the reseachers employed a semi-structured inteview to collect the data. The research participants were five English teachers who teach English subject at elementary schools in Aceh Barat. The results of this research indicate that the advantages of using this method were enhancing students’ motivation ,and creating an effective teaching-learning process. Then, the challenges of using Situational Language Teaching methods in teaching vocabulary were preparing course material and dealing with students’ boredom.

The present study aims to observe the impact of extracurricular activities on the academic performance of students at the secondary level in Multan city. All the students at the secondary level in the public sector of Multan city are the population of this study. Three hundred student’s 9th and 10th classes from (two) secondary schools from Multan city were selected. For this study, the researcher uses a simple random sampling technique. A total of 30 survey questions were developed based on Likert-scale type statement options (SA, A, N, DA, SDA), keeping in mind the objective of the study. The data were tabulated and analyzed by using descriptive statistical techniques. The MS-Excel is used for the descriptive analysis of the data. The study concluded that there is a severe need for the introduction of extracurricular activities, orientation programs for the students of secondary level. Extracurricular activities have a positive influence on students' life by improving their behavior, academic performance, better exam scores, more regular class attendance, a better self-image, due to these aspects which makes the students life more successful. Finally, the study suggests that Government should support the introduction of extracurricular activities in all secondary schools, allocate special funds, appoint special trainers/teachers, and fix their pay equal to other subject teachers.

The purpose of the study was to examine curriculum implementation practices regarding formative assessment carried out by English teachers at elementary level in Punjab, and to see their relationship with their self-efficacy beliefs. The researcher used explanatory correlational research design to conduct this study. Data were collected from 576 English teachers of 288 elementary and secondary schools that were selected through multistage sampling technique. For this purpose, Teachers’ Sense of Efficacy Scale (TSES) and a self-developed Questionnaire on Curriculum Implementation Practices of Teachers (QCIPT) were used. Data were analyzed by using frequency percentages, means and Spearman correlation coefficient. The mean value revealed that implementation practices of English teachers regarding formative assessment were lesser than the optimal level. English teachers were found moderately confident in their capabilities regarding their classroom practices. A significant relationship was found between English teachers’ self-efficacy beliefs and their formative assessment practices. It was recommended that more practical work may be included in the programs to enhance their competence of curriculum implementation practices in formative assessment.

National Curriculum for English in Pakistan, reveals its intentions for acquiring language related international requirements concerning with career choices and furthering education. Formative assessment is at the center of students’ learning and is devised in the curriculum document providing basis for its implementation. Curriculum implementation is pivotal to classroom practices of teachers. Curriculum guides teachers to implement formative assessment. Professional commitment contributes enriching teacher’ classroom practices. Focus of the study was to examine formative assessment practices of teachers, as a part of curriculum implementation, in accordance with curriculum document and its relationship with professional commitment of secondary school English teachers. Study secures its significance for teachers, curriculum developers, and governmental agencies. Quantitative survey was the method adopted for the study and explanatory correlational design was used. Teachers, concerned with teaching of English at secondary level, from entire secondary schools working under the supervision of the Punjab province were the study population. Sampling procedure employed multistage stratified random sampling technique and 576 teachers were selected as study sample. Two questionnaires were developed that included questionnaire regarding implementation of formative assessment (QIFA) and teachers’ professional commitment scale (TPCS). Survey was conducted as a data collection strategy. In statistics, Mean and Spearman correlation were employed. Results revealed that professional commitment of teachers and their formative assessment practices were moderate. Results regarding relationship between the variables; professional commitment of teachers and their formative assessment practices were significant correlated. The study recommended school based teacher trainings to sensitize and enhance teachers’ awareness and practices towards formative assessment practices as a part of implementation process. Governmental agencies are needed to focus the situation of professional commitment of teachers and implementation of formative assessment as a part of implementation.

This descriptive study investigates the failure in the English subject to find out the causes of failure in the English subject in Government High Schools for Boys in district Mardan, so viable suggestions to overcome the failure rate in the English subject in district Mardan, KP Pakistan are proposed. The population of this research is all public high Schools of district Mardan, which were 380 in number. 64 schools were selected through Stratified sampling technique. Questionnaire as research instrument was used for data collection. The collected data was analyzed, interpreted and results were shown in percentage in tabular form. The findings of the study highlighted the failure (33%) in English, (02%) Urdu and (04%) in Pakistan studies. Causes of failure like lack of qualified and well trained teachers, overcrowded classrooms, non-availability of language laboratories and A.V Aids, inappropriate teaching method and lack of Principals’ supervision were identified. At the end provision of qualified and competent teachers, facilities like language laboratories and A.V. Aids, principals’ Proper supervision of classrooms for teachers’ better performance are recommended.

This article investigates a pedagogical interference in promoting creativity   in  English  classroom  that  describe  the  importance  of  creativity  in  learning process. The article explores the idea of passion-based learning in improving creativity in the classroom specially in English subject. By using secondary data both  from  journals,  books,  and  internet  sites,  researcher  is  able  to  apply descriptive analysis through literary review methods. Promoting passion-based learning might be a possible way to improve creativity in English Classroom. Passion-based learning could be a solution that give ownership and authority to students to explore their own creativity in the classroom hence give them meaningful  learning.  Some  tangible  ways  in  this  article  could  be  applied  by English teachers to create passion-based learning in English classroom that can improve the students’ reading, listening, speaking and writing skill and creativity. The emerging challenge found in this study is passion-based learning is difficult to apply in large class since it gives freedom to students choose what they want to learn hence classroom activities will not be feasible to control. Besides, passion- based learning needs creative and skilful teachers to come up with various and interesting ideas to stimulate dynamic in classroom.  Therefore, the quality of teacher is highly considered in applying passion-based learning. Teachers should be expert in subjects they teach. Promoting teacher professional development need to be considered to improve creativity in English classroom with given English teachers’ opportunities to explore their potentials.

This research is analyzes about the struggle of Malala’s in He Named Me Malala film. The The purpose of this research were: (1) to describe type  of using code switching and (2) to describe the strategy behind the use code switching  made by English teachers in English language eaching and learning at SMAN 1 Padang Sago. This research used descriptive qualitative design. The  population were all English teachers in the school who taught English subject for 10th, 11th and 12 th graders in the 2019 academic year . The purposive sampling technique was employed in the research  in which the total sampling  were all 5 English  teachers. Instrumens to collect the data were observation chceklist and interview. In the observation checklist, all teachers’ utterancess were categorized according to the types and strategies of the code switching belong to. To determine the frequency of the type and strategy of the code switching emerging in observation checklist, the numberof the type and strategy that emerged were count manulay. Then, the percentage formula   was used. Then, the interview was used to validate the result gained from the observation checklist. Finally, among 110 utterances , it was found there was 4%, of  tag switching used by the tecaher,  inter-sentential switching was 36%, and intra-sentential switching was  60%,. On the other hand,  among 10  strategies of code switching proposed by Hoffman (1991), it was found that  the teacher preferred to use only 4 strategies only of which are for  scosiisted of expressing solidarity 48%, interjection7%, repetition 28%, and clarification19%).

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis kebutuhan materi pembelajaran ESP pada mahasiswa keperawatan.  Untuk mengetahui kebutuhan tersebut, perlu dilakukan needs analysis agar mahasiswa mendapatkan materi yang diperlukan untuk mendukung proses belajar mereka pada saat ini atau karir yang akan datang. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode deskriptif. Sampel penelitian adalah mahasiswa keperawatan kelas P17C yang sedang mengambil mata kuliah Bahasa Inggris. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik Purposive Random Sampling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan kuesioner. Data dianalisis dengan teknik deskriptif dalam bentuk jumlah dan persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebutuhan mahasiswa keperawatan terhadap mata kuliah Bahasa Inggris ESP sangat beragam sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa mereka memerlukan Bahasa Inggris bukan saja untuk kebutuhan mereka saat ini, tetapi juga untuk kepentingan karir profesional yang akan datang. Oleh karena itu disarankan agar pengajar Bahasa Inggris ESP atau pihak yang berkepentingan dapat mengakomodasi kebutuhan mahasiswa, serta selalu melakukan analisis kebutuhan karena kebutuhan pembelajar ESP juga selalu berubah.   This study is aimed at identifying and analyzing the needs of ESP learning material in learning English at diploma nursing students. To find out the correct reference, needs analysis is urged to be done to obtain information about what the students really need to support their learning process at the present time or in the future career. This study was conducted by using qualitative approach and descriptive method. The samples were students from P17C Diploma Nursing Study Program of STIKes Kusuma Husada Surakarta who are currently taking English subject and the sampling technique used was purposive random sampling. Meanwhile, a questionnaire as the instrument for this study was arranged in closed-ended form. The data analysis was descriptive analysis in the form of number and percentage. The study revealed that the needs of nursing students on English subject are very diverse and it can be concluded that they need English not only for their current needs as they can communicate in English to support their education in nursing field, but also for their future professional career. Therefore, it is recommended that ESP English teachers or other related parties should accommodate the needs of these students. In addition, it is suggested to always conduct needs analysis since the needs of ESP learners are constantly changing.
