During the last decade, we have witnessed an ever-growing increase in the use of Wi-Fi in geomarketing and advertising in the form of Wi-Fi analytics and hyperlocal targeting. Using a special device installed in a store, cafe, etc., the MAC addresses of mobile users who walked by or entered inside are collected. Further, the collected MAC addresses are used either to measure traffic intensity or to display targeted commercials of these establishments, as well as their goods and services. This paper discusses business opportunities of Wi-Fi in marketing.

Technological progress is one of the main generators of increases in the production economy, involving the introduction of new products which, in turn, allows companies that carry out innovative actions to survive in the market. According to Schumpeter, innovation is an important source of value creation, improving growth in companies and economy. Thus, entrepreneurs introducing innovations in the market to take advantage of new business opportunities increase value creation, understood as the actions implemented to increase the value of goods and services created by enterprises. Likewise, the exploitation of these new opportunities that arises thanks to technological change are also largely conditioned by entrepreneurs' human capital, availability of financial resources, investment in research and development activities, expectations, and efficient business regulations.

This chapter identifies and describes the current rising and compelling imperatives of doing business in Africa. It defines Africa’s market attractiveness and the African Gross Domestic Product (GDP)—the sum of the value of goods and services that a nation produces in a year—and the Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) both as measures of market size and market intensity in the African economies. It also outlines the origins of the concept of PPP, its uses together with GDP, and the strengths and the limitations of the PPP as a currency exchange rate determinant and as a market size and market intensity measure, hence business opportunities.

The progress of the times accompanied by increasingly sophisticated technology, opens new opportunities in the national economic development sector. New opportunities, namely business opportunities, are expected to encourage the macroeconomic sector to become more advanced so as to be able to improve the level of welfare of the people of Indonesia, with an increase in business opportunities in the modern world, so goods and services as the main commodity will certainly develop as well. However, goods and services as an element in these economic transactions open up opportunities for the emergence of possible losses suffered by consumers as part of fraud, negligence, or intentional business actors. This condition raises an understanding of the need for protection of consumers as parties who are often harmed by the actions of these 'naughty' business actors. In fact, an institution has been formed which aims to bring consumers to defend their rights as consumers, namely the Indonesian Consumers Foundation, but consumers are still reluctant to go through the judiciary for themselves so that they are more resigned to what they experience.

The paper appraises current progress in establishing the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Although the progress has slowed down after the initial rapid advancement, the Union is better viewed not as an exception from the general rules of regional economic integration but rather as one of the functioning customs unions with its successes and stumbling blocs. The paper reviews the state of Eurasian institutions, the establishment of the single market of goods and services, the situation with mutual trade and investment flows among the member states, the ongoing work on the liquidation/unification of non-tariff barriers, the problems of the efficient coordination of macroeconomic policies, progress towards establishing an EAEU network of free trade areas with partners around the world, the state of the common labor market, and the dynamics of public opinion on Eurasian integration in the five member states.
