Blood pressure is one of the critical indicators of a person's physiological state. This indicator and the pulse reflect the state of the cardiovascular system. Their values can directly or indirectly determine the presence of diseases of the heart and blood vessels, and other organs. Therefore, determination of blood pressure among people of different levels of health is an urgent task of modern medicine. The aim of the work: hygienic assessment and monitoring of blood pressure in medical students smoking e-cigarettes. Materials and methods: Quantitative and qualitative analysis of the level of systolic, diastolic pressure, mean arterial and pulse pressure in medical students aged 18-23 years, before and after smoking e-cigarettes was carried out. Results: The findings of the study fully reflect the importance of tonometry. Thus, the level of systolic blood pressure increased after 10 minutes by an average of 7.7%, but after 50 minutes returned to optimal value. The level of diastolic blood pressure increased after 10 minutes by an average of 8.8%, but after 50 minutes – an increase of 4%. Conclusions: This type of changes in the short period are not critical, as the body’ compensatory mechanisms stabilize hemodynamic parameters, but daily smoking can lead to the development of COPD, as well as pathology of the cardiovascular system, including myocardial ischemia or heart failure. Therefore, smoking e-cigarettes cannot be attributed to a harmless type of habit.

A new method of forecasting the outcome of ischemic stroke in the acute period, based on dynamic monitoring of new indicators of autonomic regulation of cardiovascular system — VIB (vegetative indicator of blood circulation), BSB (background systolic blood pressure), IDD (index of diastolic pressure). VIB allows to quantitatively assess the state of autonomic tone of the cardiovascular system, and to evaluate its dynamics, comparing with the physiological state of the patient. BSB — background systolic blood pressure, a quantitative method of assessing the standard systolic (pressor) load. IDD — an index of diastolic pressure — a way to assess the proportionality of hemodynamics. A retrospective analysis of 131 case histories of patients with ischemic stroke favorable outcome. The expression of VIB on admission and the normalization rate with the seriousness of the disease.

Abstract: Sodium is an extracellular fluid cation which is the highest in amount, 35-40% sodium (Na) is found in the body skeleton. The function of sodium is the regulation of fluid volume, the regulation of fluid balance, the regulation of osmolarity, and the regulation of blood pressure. Blood pressure is the force that is needed to keep the blood flowing inside the blood vessel and circulates to reach all the tissues in human body. Blood pressure consists of two components, the systolic pressure and diastolic pressure. According to the study conducted by Riset Kesehatan Dasar on 2007, it was found that the Natuna Islands (coastal areas) has the highest prevalence of hypertension, which is 53,3%, while the highlands of Jayawijaya has the lowest prevalence of hypertension, which is 6,8%. The North Bolaang Mongondow regency, especially West Bolangitang district is an area which is conditioned around the coastal areas. Adolescents, according to WHO, are those aged 12-24 years old. This was an analytical descriptive research is conducted with a cross sectional study design. Afterward, the collected datas are processed using the help of SPSS software. The population is all of the students in SMAN 1 Bolangitang Barat, North Bolaang Mongondow regency and the samples were collected with purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the number of respondents who follow the research were 60 students, consisting 16 boy and 44 girl by spearman’s correlation statistical test.This study shows no correlation between the levels of sodium and blood pressure on adolescents in West Bolangitang district North Bolaang Mongondow regency. Conclusion: there is no correlation between the levels of sodium and blood pressure on adolescents in West Bolangitang district, North Bolaang Mongondow regency. Keywords: sodium, blood pressure, adolescent Abstrak: Natrium ialah kation terbanyak dalam cairan ekstrasel , 35-40% natrium (Na) ada didalam kerangka tubuh. Fungsi natrium untuk mengatur volume cairan, mengatur keseimbangan cairan, mengatur osmolaritas, dan mengatur tekanan darah. Tekanan darah adalah kekuatan yang diperlukan agar darah dapat mengalir di dalam pembuluh darah dan beredar mencapai semua jaringan tubuh manusia. Tekanan darah terdiri atas 2 bagian tekanan sistolik dan tekanan diastolik. Berdasarkan data yang dilakukan Riset Kesehatan Dasar tahun 2007 didapatakan bahwa prevalensi hipertensi tertinggi di Kepulauan Natuna (wilayah pantai) sebanyak 53,3 % sedangkan prevalensi hipertensi terendah di pegunungan jayawijaya sebanyak 6,8%. Kabupaten Bolaang mongondow utara khususnya Kecamatan Bolangitang Barat merupakan suatu wilayah yang terletak disekitaran pesisir pantai, Remaja menurut WHO adalah mereka yang berumur 12-24 tahun. Jenis penelitian ialah deskriptif analitik dengan desain potong lintang. Data diolah dengan menggunakan program SPSS. Populasi ialah semua siswa/i SMAN 1 Bolangitang Barat Kabupaten Bolaang Mongondow Utara dan sampel diambil dengan cara purposive sampling. Hasil uji korelasi Spearman menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan antara kadar natrium dengan tekanan darah pada remaja di Kecamatan Bolangitang Barat Kabupaten Bolaang Mongondow Utara. Simpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan antara kadar natrium dengan tekanan darah pada remaja di Kecamatan Bolangitang Barat Kabupaten Bolaang Mongondow Utara.Kata kunci: natrium, tekanan darah, remaja

The control of cardiovascular system by autonomic nervous system using model-based analysis is very useful to predict blood flow and blood pressure at different locations of human body. The regulation of cardiovascular system by autonomic nervous system is a very complex mechanism, so, an experimental-based model analysis may prove very helpful in studying and analysing its working properly. In this article, a very basic model of cardiovascular system is presented with blood pressure dynamics studied throughout the body. A new bond graph model of the autonomic nervous system embedded with baroreflex system is also presented. Autonomic regulation of ventricular contractility is represented by means of transfer functions. The results in terms of maximum ventricular elastance ([Formula: see text]) and end systolic pressure are shown for two experiments. Another alternative modelling approach to represent the function of nervous system action in blood pressure regulation in terms of an overwhelming controller has been proposed. This controller overwhelms the system properties and therefore helps in managing the unmodelled parts or properties of a system and makes it impeccable for controlling complex systems. All the results and simulations are obtained using Symbols Shakti® software (Bond graph software).

Durian is said to have a “heaty” effect on the people who have eaten it that can raise their body temperature and blood pressure. The locule water immersion is the water that is drunk using the durian’s inner skin (endocarp) that contains the durian flesh and it is said (mainly via local hearsay) that it can lower the body temperature right after consuming the flesh. The aim of this research is to investigate a myth about the effect of D24 durian locule water immersion that can possibly reduce body temperature after eating durian via oral temperature assessment. In order to explore the reliability of this myth, an experimental research was carried out with five different respondents to undergo with 3 different set of condition which are: a) consumed the same amount of durian, but they did not have to drink the immersed-locule water; b) consumed the durian and they had to drink the immersed-locule water and c) consumed the durian and they had to drink a cup of water. The changes in their body temperature (oral reading) were recorded and analysed for significant changes (n = 3). Overall, the immersed-locule water exhibited a mild affect in the changes of body temperature (p<0.05) on a short period of time (<30 mins after consumption). For that reason, the availability of pectin in the locule water-immersion might have help facilitates the natural homeostasis mechanism faster as to suppress of any sudden body heating after eating durian.

The cardiovascular system is one of the most important functional systems of the body, which determine the level of physical performance of the body. Insufficient study of the response of the circulatory system to the combination of strength training with endurance exercises requires more detailed comparative studies of the impact of dynamic and static loads on the indicators of central hemodynamics. Accordingly, the aim of our study was to study the characteristics of the reaction of the cardiovascular system in the period of early recovery after dosed exercise of a dynamic and static nature. The study examined the response of the central hemodynamics of young men in the period of early recovery after dynamic loading (Martine functional test) and static loading (holding on the stand dynamometer DS-200 force with a power of 50% of maximum standing force). The change in circulatory system parameters was recorded using a tetrapolar thoracic impedance rheoplethysmogram on a computerized diagnostic complex “Cardio +”. It is established that the dynamic load in the period of early recovery does not cause a significant positive chronotropic effect, leads to a decrease in vascular resistance of blood flow, to an increase in pulse blood pressure. The increase in cardiac output is mainly due to the increase in stroke volume, which indicates a fairly high functional reserves of the heart. It is revealed that under conditions of static loading the reaction of central hemodynamics and the course of early recovery are radically different from the changes of indicators under dynamic loading. In persons with a normodynamic type of reaction to dynamic load, there are no significant changes in the minute volume of blood at a similar volume of active muscle mass static load. Meeting the metabolic needs of working skeletal muscles and compensating for the oxygen debt is realized by increasing the total peripheral vascular resistance and increasing systolic blood pressure in the postpartum period. The physiological meaning of this phenomenon is to maintain a sufficient level of venous return of blood to ensure the pumping function of the heart.

Background: One of the main negative factors of the educational environment is the increased stress impact on the cardiovascular system of students preparing for examinations. The cumulative effect of a long-term, systematic exposure to stressors may be accompanied by impaired mental and somatic health of students. The extent of response to stress is individual; it is usually determined by cardiovascular health and a complex of psychophysiological characteristics of the body. Objective: To study the main parameters of central hemodynamics in medical students depending on the body mass index and adaptive potential in the pre-examination study period Materials and methods: In spring–summer 2019, 170 medical students (young men and women aged 20.4 ± 0.3 years) with different adaptive potential of the circulatory system were surveyed during a pre-exam study period to establish their anthropometric indicators, blood pressure and heart rate and to further estimate the body mass index and the main central hemodynamics parameters. Results: The average heart rate of students during the pre-exam study period was 85.4 ± 12.21 beats per minute. The level of metabolic and energy processes in the myocardium was characterized as moderate with a tendency to insufficient functional capacity of the cardiovascular system (CI = 90.4 ± 1.22). Significant differences were revealed in a number of parameters un-der study depending on gender, body mass index (F = 3.99; p = 0.00890) and the adaptive potential of the circulatory system (F = 23.08; p = 0.00000). Conclusions: In the pre-examination study period, both the heart rate and the Kerdo index among the students were elevated, which indicates the predominance of sympathetic autonomic stress. The students with tense adaptation mechanisms demonstrated higher values of certain hemodynamic parameters. The pulse pressure and the Robinson index were higher in overweight students compared to their peers with a normal body mass index. None of the students with class 1 obesity had a satisfactory level of adaptation of the circulatory system. The analysis of central hemodynamic parameters enables the assessment of tolerance of the cardiovascular system of students to the burden of learning.

Abstract. Introduction. In labor physiology from the position of the theory of functional systems there is a need to assess mental work capacity. The isolation of separate subsystems of labor tension, physiological state allows to develop a complex of measures for the prevention of health disorders. Purpose of the study – scientific substantiation of a systematic approach to the assessment of mental performance based on the study of psychophysiological features of the body of workers under the influence of neuro-emotional loads. Materials and methods. The studies included occupational analysis of work activity, physiological characteristics of CNS and cardiovascular system, and psychological studies with retrospective data analysis (40 professional groups of workers aged 43.80±2.91 years with 17.69±2.19 years of work experience). Statistical processing was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics 20 software and Microsoft Office Excel 2010. Results. At a high degree of labor tension (class 3.3), the formation of an unfavorable physiological state, characterized by an increase in the index of functional changes, high levels of anxiety, an increase in the number of intra- and inter-system correlations in the cardiovascular system and CNS is established according to the materials of production studies Conclusion. System analysis, based on the results of physiological studies, allowed to determine the features of the formation of mental work capacity under different classes of working conditions with the allocation of independent subsystems - neuro-emotional tension of labor processes, physiological state, preventive measures.

The Obesity and Hypertension are major risk factors of several life threatening diseases in human body. Objectives: To determine correlation coefficient of Body Mass Index with blood pressure: a gender based comparison in medical students. Study Design: Comparative Cross-sectional study in students. Setting: Physiology department of BMU Karachi. Period: Duration of this study was 6 months from February 2017 to August 2017. Material and Methods: A total of 500 students were enrolled in this study. The anthropometric measurement [height (m2) and weight (kg)] was recorded for calculation of the Body Mass Index (BMI) and blood pressure (BP) was measured by using sphygmomanometer with stethoscope. SPSS version 22.0 was used to analyze the data. Results: BMI overall in both genders were significantly (p<0.05) correlated in mean Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP) and mean Diastolic Blood Pressure (DBP). Underweight and Normal weight were not correlated with both mean SBP and mean DBP in both genders. Overweight subjects were positively correlated with mean DBP in males and mean SBP in females (p<0.05). Obese students were not significantly (p>0.05) correlated with both mean SBP and mean DBP in males whereas, there were not enough observations to draw any meaningful conclusion in females. Conclusion: Overweight subjects were positively correlated (p<0.05) with mean DBP in males and mean SBP in females and overall BMI (mean SBP & mean DBP) in both genders.

Hypertension is an increase in blood pressure where the systolic pressure is more than 140 mmHg and diastolic pressure is more than 90 mmHg. The cause of the onset of hypertension can be of age factor. Elderly who suffer from hypertension usually cause interruption of daily activities, so routine treatment is needed in order not to cause complications. Young coconut water contains potassium, magnesium and vitamin C which has benefits to help the body regulate blood pressure, so it can reduce hypertension. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of young coconut water on the decrease of high blood pressure in the elderly. Experimental Quasy research design with Non-Equivalent Control Group Desaign approach. The population of this study is elderly who are not dependence of hypertension drugs as much as 32 people with the number of samples of 30 respondents selected by Probability Sampling with Simple Random Sampling approach. The independent variable is young coconut water therapy, the dependent variable is the decrease of high blood pressure. Data were collected using questionnaires and observations. Data were analyzed by using Paired t-test and Independent t-test. The results showed that the consumption of young coconut water as much as 250 ml morning and afternoon for 2 weeks in the treatment group can lower systolic blood pressure. The independent t test in the treatment group and the control group obtained the result p = 0.013 (p <a = 0.05). The implication of this study is that young coconut water can lower blood pressure in elderly people with hypertension, so that young coconut water treatment can be used as one of the non-pharmacological alternative to reduce blood pressure.

Objectives: To compare the effect of active and secondhand smoke to unexposed smoke and to renal functions in young healthy Medical Students. Study Design: Cross sectional study comparative. Setting: Mohi-ud-din Islamic-Medical-College Mirpur AJ&K. Period: Fanuary-2018 to February-2019. Material & Methods: 350 healthy medical students aged 17-19 years were divided into active, secondhand and unexposed to smoke on basis of serum cotinine levels. The estimated GFR was measured by Modification of Diet in Renal Disease equation, albuminuria by albumin to urinary creatinine ratio, BMI by body weight (kg) to height (m2) and blood pressure by mercury manometer. The chronic kidney disease was classified into low, moderate and high risk according to Kidney Disease: Improving-Global Outcomes-2012-guidelines. Results: Out of 350 participants, 49 were active and 126 were of secondhand smoke. Most were male, overweight or obese, have high systolic and diastolic pressure and decreased eGFR. The CKD prevalence was 8.2%, eGFR <60ml/min/1.73 m² noticed in 19% and albuminuria in 26.4% of the participants. The proteinuria in active smokers in comparison with unexposed showed a high OR-5.67-(95%CI-17.17-40.49), cotinine levels >10 ng/mL; OR-5.520-(95%CI-3.67-3.91), systolic BP >140 mmHg; OR-2.50-(95%CI- 0.142-4.968); moderate to severely decreased eGFR, OR-2.478-(95%CI-0.124-4.391) and with high creatinine levels OR-4.300-(95%CI 2.432–7.603). The decreased eGFR showed Odds for obese OR-1.113(95%CI-2.391-5.197), active smokers OR-0.145(95%CI-0.029-0.721) and for systolic blood pressure >140 mmHg OR-6.892-(95%CI-1.414-2.235). Conclusion: Tobacco smoke exposure was associated with proteinuria and decreased eGFR effecting kidney functions in adolescents.
