The aim is to form a balanced position regarding the ergogenic characteristics of new sports food products in the modern practice of training highly qualified athletes on the basis of clinical-experimental evaluation of the effectiveness of special purpose real food additives. Materials and methods. Studies were carried out on laboratory animals (36 Wistar rats at the age of 3 months weighing 150–200 g and 16 Svetlogorsk mini-pigs) as well as on 102 high-qualified representatives of cyclic sports (all men aged 19–26) − members of national teams such as swimming (25), cross-country athletics (53), and skiing (24). As a control group, we studied 25 athletes of the same gender (all men), age and qualifications who received a placebo (starch capsules) for a long time during exercise. Placebo-controlled studies have been conducted on laboratory animals and athletes in compliance with the principles of bioethics. Results. It has been established that in the experiment the application of a new specialized food product MioActiv has a positive effect on the physical performance of animals and delays the onset of fatigue, which significantly exceeds the corresponding characteristics in the placebo group. Athletes also showed an increase in speed when passing competitive distances by 18.7–21.4% (p < 0,05), as well as a significant increase in mental endurance indicators (p < 0,05). The approbation of the innovative pre-workout pharmacological nutrient complex Pre-Fuse also showed the high efficacy and safety of this product with a positive effect of increasing the performance and endurance of animals, as well as the parameters of mental performance of athletes in the main groups, in contrast to the data in the placebo control groups. Conclusions. An analysis of the prescription components of new types of ergogenic sports nutrition and the presented results of preclinical and clinical studies conducted on the basis of the evidence-based medicine paradigm regarding the effectiveness of specialized products indicate the complex action of these funds on various aspects of both physical and mental performance. From the materials presented in the article, it can be seen that specialized sports nutrition products of an ergogenic orientation can provide significant assistance in increasing sports results.

130 children and adolescents aged 6 to 16 years with a diagnosis of autoimmune thy-roiditis (AIT) at the stage of hypothyroidism underwent a course of hypoxytherapy. The high ef-ficiency of the normobaric interval hypoxic training method in the treatment of hypothyroidism on the background of AIT is shown. An increase in the function and number of CD8+ cells after a course of hypoxytherapy prevents the progression of the autoimmune process and promotes the restoration of thyroid function, which in turn leads to positive dynamics in the neurological status of patients: improved indicators of mental performance and fine coordination of move-ments. Key words: autoimmune thyroiditis, hypothyroidism, hypoxytherapy, interval hypoxic training, neuroimmunoendocrine disorders.

In the article, it is shown that mental performance can be used to predict the degree of tension in track and field students under the influence of emotional stress associated with passing the exam. During the exams, there was a decrease in the statokinetic stability of the students' body, which led to an increase in erroneous answers of students and a decrease in the indicators of mental performance and work productivity, which remained reduced even a week after the end of the exam. The work also shows that a decrease in statokinetic stability is a factor of destabilization of the optimal level of mental performance and productivity of performing cognitive tasks.

Introduction: In the context of the modern educational process, accompanied by a high intensity of intellectual work, one of the most important tasks of school medicine specialists is to support, maintain and improve cognitive skills of schoolchildren as the main predictors of academic success. Objective: The study aimed to give a physiological and hygienic characteristic of cognitive functions determining academic success of schoolchildren aged 15–17 years under conditions of various schooling intensity. Materials and methods: We conducted a time study to assess schooling intensity of 250 pupils of a multidisciplinary lyceum (Group 1) and 274 pupils of a comprehensive school (Group 2) and evaluated their academic performance. Computer testing was used to study the functional state of the central nervous system, mental performance and cognitive skills of the schoolchildren. Results: We established higher grade point averages in key disciplines among Group 1 students with high schooling intensity (class 3.1) compared to those in Group 2 with optimal intensity of the educational process (class 1). We found that high academic performance in Group 1 was attributed to the optimal functional state of the central nervous system characterized by stabilization of nervous processes and a better ability of the nervous system to form the adaptive functional system of the body in response to various stimuli; to the dominance of the left cerebral hemisphere in 61.2 % of the students, which determined mature skills of verbal, abstract, logical and analytical thinking in 51.9–93.5% of the students; high speed of mental activity and concentration of voluntary attention promoting cognitive activity and maintaining normal mental performance of the schoolchildren. Conclusions: Our findings contribute to a better understanding of the processes of adaptation of schoolchildren to various factors of school environment and learning to be used within the development of school medicine when organizing educational activities of students at schools with an intensive learning regime in order to promote academic performance and achieve high efficiency of the educational process within physiological capabilities of children and adolescents. At the same time, from physiological and hygienic points of view, assessment of cognitive skills in children and teenagers by means of medical and psychological testing in educational establishments implementing profile training of various difficulty levels can become an effective diagnostic tool in predicting academic performance of students and help resolve issues of prevention of maladjustment and stress at school.

Abstract. Introduction. In labor physiology from the position of the theory of functional systems there is a need to assess mental work capacity. The isolation of separate subsystems of labor tension, physiological state allows to develop a complex of measures for the prevention of health disorders. Purpose of the study – scientific substantiation of a systematic approach to the assessment of mental performance based on the study of psychophysiological features of the body of workers under the influence of neuro-emotional loads. Materials and methods. The studies included occupational analysis of work activity, physiological characteristics of CNS and cardiovascular system, and psychological studies with retrospective data analysis (40 professional groups of workers aged 43.80±2.91 years with 17.69±2.19 years of work experience). Statistical processing was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics 20 software and Microsoft Office Excel 2010. Results. At a high degree of labor tension (class 3.3), the formation of an unfavorable physiological state, characterized by an increase in the index of functional changes, high levels of anxiety, an increase in the number of intra- and inter-system correlations in the cardiovascular system and CNS is established according to the materials of production studies Conclusion. System analysis, based on the results of physiological studies, allowed to determine the features of the formation of mental work capacity under different classes of working conditions with the allocation of independent subsystems - neuro-emotional tension of labor processes, physiological state, preventive measures.
