Objective Medicine is considered one if not the most stressful educational field. Thus, the aim of this study is to investigate the prevalence of stress and poor sleeping quality among medical students and the association between them. Method This cross-sectional study was conducted at the University of Jordan on second- and third-year medical students. The questionnaire consisted of: 1) Demographics; 2) The assessment tools which were Pittsburgh Quality of Sleep Index (PSQI) and Kessler Psychological Distress Status (K10). Binary logistic regression, chi-square and linear regression were used to investigate the association between PSQI, K10, and their determinants. Results The mean for PSQI score was 6.76 ± 3.32. PSQI scores interpretation revealed that 61.7% of the 282 participants of this study were poor sleepers. Logistic regression results showed that only the category of not napping at all from the napping hours variable was significantly associated with sleeping quality. Furthermore, the mean of K10 scores was 24.5 ± 8.5. K10 scores revealed that 66.3% of the participants were stressed. Logistic regression results showed that gender and regular exercise were significantly associated with psychological distress. Additionally, chi-square test, logistic regression and linear regression showed that PSQI was significantly associated with K10 (P <0.01). Conclusions Stress and poor sleeping quality in medical students at the University of Jordan were highly prevalent and strongly associated. What determined PSQI was daytime napping, and for K10 were regular exercise and gender. Further investigations into stress and sleep quality in the Arabian region are needed.

Introduction: Posterior capsular opacification is a common complication after cataract surgery. Neodynium Yttrium Aluminium Garnet laser capsulotomy is still the preferred treatment for posterior capsular opacification. This study was done to determine the use of Brimonidine eye drop in preventing the rise of intraocular pressure post-Neodynium Yttrium Aluminium Garnet laser capsulotomy. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in Lumbini eye institute and research center, Bhairahawa, Nepal, in 200 eyes with posterior capsular opacification using Brimonidine from Feb 1, 2019, to July 30, 2019. The Institutional Review Committee approved the study with approval number 0237. A convenient sampling method was used. Pre-capsulotomy best-corrected visual acuity, slit-lamp examination of the anterior segment, and dilated fundus examination were done. Intraocular pressure was measured with Goldmann Applanation Tonometer. Post capsulotomy patients were evaluated after one hour, two hours, and two weeks for intraocular pressure and any complications. The statistical analysis was done using Statistical Package of Social Sciences version 20.0 statistical analysis software. The descriptive statistical analysis of the study was done after the collection of the data. Results: Mean age of patients at presentation was 61.61±SD 1.09. The mean intraocular pressure following Neodynium Yttrium aluminum garnet laser capsulotomy using brimonidine at 1 hour was 12.73±3.3 mmHg.and two hours was 11.98±3.2 mmHg. The mean energy per pulse was 2.3±SD 0.3 mJ. The mean duration of posterior capsular opacification from cataract surgery was 22.28 weeks. Conclusions: Neodynium Yttrium Aluminium Garnet laser capsulotomy had lower intraocular pressure after the Brimonidine eye drop procedure. The maximum mean reduction in intraocular pressure was observed after two hours.

Abstract Background Erectile dysfunction, as defined by the International Consultation on Sexual Medicine, is the consistent and recurrent inability to acquire or sustain an erection of sufficient rigidity and duration to engage in satisfactory sexual intercourse. Objectives The aim of this study was to identify the prevalence of MetS among patients with ED. Patients and Methods This was a cross sectional study conducted on 200 patients attending the Andrology clinic of Dermatology, Venereology and Andrology department, Ain-Shams University starting from March 2019 till December 2019. The 15-question IIEF Questionnaire is a validated, multi- dimensional, self-administered investigation that has been found useful in the clinical assessment of ED and treatment outcomes in clinical trials. Results The mean ± SD of age of patients with ED in our study was 58.3 ± 20.1 years. Out of the 200 patients, 110(55%) of them had BMI (25-29.9). and over 30 in 35(17.5%) patients. The mean ± SD of WC was 41.4±4.9 inches. Among the 200 patients, hypertension was present in 125(62.5%) and smoking in 165 (82.5%) patients. Among the 200 patients, 96 (48%) patients had MetS. Among 200 patients, 90 (45 %) had mild, 54 (27.0 %) had moderate. and 56 (28 %) had severe ED. A significant association was determined between the presence of MetS and severity of ED. The prevalence of moderate and severe ED was significantly higher in patients with MetS than patients without MetS. There was a negative significant correlation between IIEF scores and age, systolic BP, and diastolic BP. Conclusion Among the 200 patients, 96 (48%) patients had MetS. Incidence of moderate to severe ED was higher among patients with MetS versus those without. There was a negative significant correlation between IIEF scores and age, systolic BP, and diastolic BP.

Objective: To compare serum Anti Müllerian Hormone (AMH) levels in infertile women with and without endometriosis, and to determine the mean levels of serum AMH in every stage of endometriosis. Method: We performed a cross-sectional study. Sixty-eight subjects who have undergone laparoscopy and fulfilled both inclusion and exclusion criteria are recruited consecutively. They are divided into two groups, namely group with endometriosis and without endometriosis. Blood samples are taken from each subject before laparoscopy, where serum AMH levels are then measured. The difference in mean levels of each group are tested with Mann-Whitney test. Result: The mean levels of serum AMH were significantly lower in the endometriosis group than those in the group without endometriosis (2.30 1.8 ng/ml vs 3.75 2.13 ng/ml; p=0.005). Using Kruskal-Wallis test, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference among endometriosis groups based on the severity of endometriosis. There was no significant difference in the mean serum AMH levels between the minimal-mild endometriosis group and without endometriosis group (p=0.34), but the mean levels of serum AMH were significantly lower in the moderate-severe endometriosis compare to the group without endometriosis (p
