This paper examines the relationship between legal policy and the Electric Vehicle market in countries from around the world. As climate change has become an increasingly more important issue in modern society, heavy emphasis has been placed on environmentally conscious alternatives to many things used in daily life. Transportation, one of the largest and most polluting sectors of the economy, has seen many advances towards an eco-friendly future. Electric Vehicles, or EVs, have been lauded as the answer to heavily-polluting Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) by governments around the world. They have dumped large amounts of money in the form of tax breaks and subsidies into the EV sector, but it is unclear if that is really having an effect on the market. This study finds no correlation between the amount of money a government is offering to subsidize the purchase of EVs and the EV market share of the country. While EV law structure varies heavily between countries, the general contribution to the sector by governments is largely the same around the world.

Electric cars have appeared in Poland relatively recently. However, they quickly became an important part of the discussion as an ecological alternative to traditional combustion vehicles. In 2018, the law was introduced regulating the use of infrastructure used by electric vehicles, subsidies and benefits for drivers operating such vehicles. Dynamic development of the electric vehicle market in the world, only to some extent, has translated itself into their popularity in Poland. The article deals with issues related to the causes of such a state, evaluating the main elements determining the expansion and popularity of this segment. Its main objective is to present a methodology for evaluating the infrastructure conducive to the development of electromobility in Poland in terms of the number of electric vehicle charging stations.

The increasingly restrictive standards related to exhaust emissions from cars make difficult the development of internal combustion engines. The activities undertaken in the design of internal combustion engines are mainly based on downsizing, e.g decreasing the engines displacement. The main direction in the development of vehicle propulsion is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. It is expected to reduce CO2 emissions in 2020 to reach 95 g/km. Electric vehicles achieve low noise levels and do not emitted a burn, and thus, their use leads to a reduction in the amount of toxic exhaust gases in the air. The aspect of reducing emissions of harmful exhaust compounds and activities focusing on downsizing on the market of combustion engine cars leads to a significant increase the number of electric vehicles. In 2018 around 95 million motor vehicles were registered in the world, of which around 12 million in the European Union and 273 thousand in Poland. The number of electric vehicles among all sold is around 5.5%. Every year new, more technologically advanced models appear on the electric vehicle market. In 2018, the most popular model was the Nissan LEAF and the BAIC EC-Series. A large number of Renault ZOE have also been sold. In article analyzed different models of electric vehicle, which are available on market and presented the characteristics based on e.g. price per 100 kilometers, range for every model or charging time.

Current researches on electric vehicles are focusing on the environment and energy aspects. However, electric motors also have much better control performance than the internal combustion engines. Electric vehicles could not only be “cleaner” and “more energy efficient”, but also become “safer” with “better driving performance”. In this paper, a discrete elasto-plastic friction model is proposed for a dynamic emulation of tire/road friction for developing control systems of electric vehicles. The friction model can capture the transient behavior of the friction force during braking and acceleration, therefore the model-based emulation could enable more reliable verifications for various electric vehicle control methods.

The electric vehicle market is an increasingly important aspect of the automotive industry. However, as a relatively new technology, several issues remain present within the industry. An analysis is utilised to examine these issues, along with how they affect the industry and how they can be tackled. Several key issues that affect the electric vehicle market, as well as how efforts to address these issues influence the market, are identified. The analysis also includes the examination of ethical issues, with the issues that arise from the production of raw materials for electric vehicles. The analysis and examination of ethical issues display a wide range of problems in the industry. However, it did highlight the efforts being made to lessen the effect of these problems by various groups, such as regulation by EU and US governing bodies on the materials mined. From this analysis, this paper identifies that many of the other factors examined are directly or indirectly influenced by political and economic factors, also examined in this review. This highlights the impact that governing bodies and businesses have on a vast number of issues that are present within the market and how they can resolve the harmful factors examined.

Many pollution-related issues are raising due to the usage of conventional internal combustion engines (ICEs) vehicles. Electric Vehicles/ Hybrid electric vehicles (EVs/HEVs) are the finest solutions to overcome those problems associated with ICE-based vehicles. The EVs are introduced with a signal energy source (SES), which is not a successful attempt, especially during transient vehicles, driving, etc. Multiple energy sources (MES) EVs are introduced to attain better performance than the SES vehicles, which is obtained by combining two sources like battery/fuel cells, ultracapacitor. In this contest, energy management (EMNG) plays a vital role in sharing the load to the sources as per the EVs requirement. In the case of MES-based EVs, the controller always plays a significant role in the related EMNG system because it is the key factor in improving vehicle efficiency. In this article, a study has mainly been done related to several conventional, intelligent controllers and control algorithms to do the proper EMNG between sources present in the EV.

ABSTRACT Objective: To understand the experience of adults living with cystic fibrosis. Method: A qualitative study based on the social phenomenology by Alfred Schütz, carried out with 12 adults interviewed in 2016. The statements were analyzed and organized into concrete categories. Results: The following categories were evidenced: “The biopsychosocial impact of the disease on daily life”, “Social prejudice as a generator of embarrassment”, “Coping strategies” and “Fear, uncertainties and the desire to carry out life projects”. Final considerations: The understanding of the experience lived by adults with cystic fibrosis allowed unveiling intersubjective aspects experienced by this public that should be considered by health professionals in the care of this group. It is up to the professionals involved in assisting these people to develop care strategies aimed at completeness, respect for the world of meanings of each individual, their life history, and intersubjectivity that is specially built in the relationship between professionals and people with cystic fibrosis.

Abstract Byproducts of fossil fuel combustion contribute to negative changes in the global climate. Specifically, emissions from automobiles are a major source of greenhouse gas pollution. Efforts to minimize these harmful emissions have led to the development and sustained improvement of hybrid drivetrains in automobiles. Despite many advancements, however, hybrid systems still face substantial challenges which bear on their practicality, performance, and competitive disadvantage in view of the low cost of today’s traditional internal combustion engines. These imperfections notwithstanding, hybrid electric vehicles have the potential to play significant roles in the future as cleaner transportation solutions. Actualization of this potential will depend on the ability of hybrid-electric vehicles to minimize their disadvantages while increasing their positive features relative to traditional combustion engines. This research investigates current hybrid electric architectures in automobiles with the aim of suggesting an alternative, more efficient hybrid configuration that utilizes current technology. This is completed by utilizing an iterative design process to compare how various components of existing hybrids can be combined and/or improved to develop a single, efficient and cohesive system that performs comparably to or surpasses existing ones in fuel efficiency and low emissions in all driving conditions. A critical and comparative analysis is provided based on current hybrid-electric vehicle architectures as well as a plausible alternative.
