We describe the tadpole morphology of the white-eyed megophryd, Leptobrachium leucops Stuart, Rowley, Tran, Le & Hoang 2011 based on specimens originating from Bidoup – Nui Ba National Park, Lam Dong Province, Vietnam. The description is based on larva in developmental stages 25 - 41, which were bred at the University of Science, Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City. Tadpoles of Leptobrachium leucops live in slow-flowing water - benthic with the body color from brown-black to black. Body oval shape in lateral view, dorsolaterally positioned eyes. Spiracle sinistral and leftlateral positioned. Vent tube medially located at body end, ventrally positioned. Oral disk ventrally positioned and bordered by a papillae row, in general, the keratodont row formulae of the is 1(5+5)/(4+4)1. Body length and oral disk width increase during developmental stages while tooth density decreases gradually and disappeare at the stage of 41.

Background: A number of books, articles and checklists have been published on Lesotho’s flora. The species presented here have been recorded for South Africa but have not previously been recorded for Lesotho. Objectives: As part of a study aimed at updating biodiversity records of the southern parts of Lesotho (Qacha’s Nek and Quthing districts), with the main focus of compiling a checklist for the Sehlabethebe National Park, this report presents plant species that have until now not been recorded for the Lesotho flora.Method: Several field trips were undertaken between 2004 and 2009. Plant identification was done based on observation and photographic records. After the compilation of the checklist, it became clear that two of the species observed had not been previously recorded for Lesotho. A follow-up trip was carried out in February 2016, during which plant specimens of the presumed new records were collected and deposited at the National University of Lesotho Herbarium (ROML) [and the University of Johannesburg Herbarium (JRAU)]. Plant identification was confirmed by experts in the family Apocynaceae. Results: Two species not previously recorded for Lesotho, namely Ceropegia africana subsp. barklyi and Duvalia caespitosa subsp. caespitosa, were found during the exploration of the southern parts of Lesotho which included the Sehlabathebe National Park. Conclusions: The fact that two species have been recorded in Lesotho for the first time clearly indicates that documentation of the flora of Lesotho needs to be updated. This work is therefore regarded as complementary to previous publications on the Lesotho flora.

Following the rules of self-sacrifice for a higher cause, the Palestinian female bomber performs the values of the struggle through and on her body in a farewell video statement. She leaves herself behind to create an image of a strong and victorious soldier. The female bomber's performance of the new self introduces her as a role model for younger generations. Her public appearance in hijab challenges notions of the body, physical beauty, and freedom in the secularist world at the same time as it deviates from the norms of a fundamentalist view of women. It is the dual impact on local and international viewers that politicizes the female bomber's public performance and makes it significant. Rana Salimi has received her PhD from the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of California, San Diego. She currently lectures at UCSD and at National University on a variety of subjects, including theatre history and language arts.

AbstractThis article aims to reflect on readings that Argentine lawyers made about the emergence of political institutions in some Interwar Europeans countries. The body of professors and scholars analyzed in this article delivered classes in the Law School of the University of Buenos Aires, in the National University of La Plata and in the National University of Córdoba. Through an unexplored corpus of sources, such as the Journal of the University of Buenos Aires’ School of Law, the Annals of the University of La Plata’ School of Legal and Social Sciences and the Bulletin of the Library of Congress, the article intends to describe the existence of an academic agenda that these scholars developed during 1920 and 1940, and then, to elucidate how these intellectual interventions on the European context sought to be read with a local perspective. In the formation and translation of a scientific and legal approach, these professors assessed the necessity to adapt these new European mechanisms to the local reality and to form more complex vocabularies and concepts about the phenomena they were perceiving.

Indonesia has a large variety of socio-spatial patterns that have developed over centuries. These settlement patterns correspond to the social, economic and landscape conditions and are part of the deeply rooted cultural heritage of Indonesia. The cultural heritage but also outstanding natural sites are base for an increasing popularity in tourism all over the Indonesian Archipelago. One of it is the island of Flores including the Komodo National Park that has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The town Labuan Bajo as the entry point to the national park is facing a rapid growth number of visitors after being declared as one of the focal points in of tourist development by the Indonesian government in 2016. With the Sepuluh Bali Baru (10 New Bali) concept the ministry of tourism launched a plan that aims to replicate the economic effects of tourism in Bali nationally. This development brought a number of challenges to the region especially concerning planning matters. One of the plans to deal with the different issues is to create an independent, international and interdisciplinary research center to support the local government, stakeholders and the population of Flores. This paper will describe first studies for a project launched in cooperation of the TU Wien (Vienna University of Technology), Universitas Gadjah Mada, National University of Singapore and the University of Sydney to develop a label for a sustainable tourism for the island if Flores starting with investigations in Labuan Bajo.

Abstract This study provides information on seasonal occurrence of developmental stages of endoparasites infecting three cyprinids in the Nwanedi-Luphephe dams, Limpopo River System. Labeobarbus marequensis (Smith, 1841), Barbus trimaculatus Peters, 1852 and Barbus radiatus Peters, 1853 were investigated seasonally from January 2008 to October 2008. The following larvae of metazoan parasites were collected: Diplostomum sp. from the eyes of L. marequensis and B. trimaculatus; Ornithodiplostomum sp. from the gills of B. trimaculatus; Posthodiplostomum sp. from muscle, skin and fins of B. trimaculatus and B. radiatus; third-stage Contracaecum larvae (L3) from the mesentery fats and on the liver lobes of L. marequensis and B. trimaculatus and gryporynchid cestode larvae from the outer intestinal wall of B. radiatus. All the flukes encountered were metacercariae. Diplostomum sp. and Contracaecum sp. dominated the parasite communities. Their prevalence exhibited seasonal fluctuations with maxima in summer. Factors likely to influence fish infection such as the body size of fish and their condition factors were also briefly considered in this study.
