DESIGN OF INFORMATICS LESSONS USING PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING

The article discusses the preparation of tasks for informatics lessons with the use of problem-based learning. At all times, the request of society for the preparation of a creative person who knows how to think independently, set goals, make decisions, is relevant. Problem-based learning is one of the methods those promote the involvement of students in active independent activity, the formation of skills for solving problem situations. As part of the study, the author's methodology for design of informatics lessons using problem-based learning is presented. Indicators and relative scales for assessing the results of educational activity of students are developed. The criteria for evaluating the learning technology are shown. An example of a lesson design is considered, an analysis of the results and training technology is carried out, conclusions are drawn on the adjustment of the designed lesson.

The author has analyzed the problem aspects of public administration of educational change in modern Ukraine. Special frameworks of public administration of educational change in an information society have been determined. The author has analyzed the categories of the implementation process of educational change. The author has explored the key features of external environment of such activity, formed by regulatory acts for settling relations in a particular area. The author has highlighted a set of contradictions of public management of educational change and recommendations for state agencies regarding the organization of an effective process of implementation of educational change as a social and political process with an emphasis on peculiar properties of the educational change. It is determined that the updated legal and regulatory framework of the educational sector, at the same time, extends the scope of professional freedom of teaching and, hence, sets high requirements for the professionalism of teachers. The change in the focus of educational activity by innovations is declared in terms of practice, interactivity and functionality. The teacher will now create educational and training programs tailored to the needs of students and local communities, will create an open learning environment, taking into account the potential of the school and involving the partners in the educational process. However, it has been proved that the methods of active and problem-searching approach defined in the updated normative provision of education in Ukraine require appropriate conditions for the educational process. An active student becomes an active citizen; school, school environment and class become a micro-society. Like the society itself, the school environment is not devoid of conflicts or problem situations. It is in these conditions that students have the opportunity to learn to consciously identify their own interests and gain experience in civic activity.

This scientific article reveals the methods of education of physical culture and basics of health and determination of working capacity of athletes of combat horting of pupil and student age, features of direction and volumes of training load. The publication analyzes the relationship between combat horting and health for schoolchildren and students during their education and training in sports sections of general secondary and higher education. Every year the National Federation of Combat Horting of Ukraine raises more and more problems of health-improving orientation of the educational process by means of sports. During the years of perestroika and reforms, scientists, teachers and leaders of the sports federation, educational sphere organized and conducted many serious studies, obtained many valuable sports, philosophical, socio-economic and psychological-pedagogical results, developed important concepts and recommendations, implemented a number of practical measures in the field of improvement of educational and training process, its adaptation to new conditions of educational activity in Ukraine. The analysis of methods of education of physical culture and basics of health of athletes of combat horting, the analysis and definition of their working capacity, value potential of combat horting and new ways of its development by a society and the person, and also pedagogical values of the trainer on combat horting, allows to receive ideas approaches formed in the modern theory and practice of combat horting.

The article considers one of the important directions of the practical psychologist-teacher in residential institutions - psychological counseling, the problem of psychological counseling of boarding school students, specific features of counseling by a teacher-psychologist, features of the consultant's interaction with boarding school students, the content of the motivational and need-based sphere of students at all stages of their stay in this institution: during the period of adaptation of students, correction, and training, as well as during their preparation for new living conditions and practical life after graduation, a teenager, getting into the new environment of a residential institution, it faces a lot of complex problems, it has questions about almost all vital situations: family and household, material, interpersonal, labor, legal, and so on. In the case of solving any problem situations, the level of anxiety increases in the pupils, on the basis of which neurotic states can develop, psychological overstrain, which manifests itself in numerous conflicts. To prevent them objectively and to resolve any contradictions in each residential institution psychologists-teachers must be organized counseling on topical issues of activity, relations and communication between pupils, special attention in the process of psychological counseling is given to the subject of "works" adviser: behaviour, feelings and experiences of pupils, and lists in detail the difficulties and errors made by the educational psychologist in the process of psychological counseling.

The article is devoted to the issues of optimization of training and direct implementation of such a significant way to increase the effectiveness of educational and training impact on individuals studying in higher education institutions as an educational and methodological collection. A consistent analysis of the various stages and elements of the collection is carried out in terms of possible improvement. Possible ways of interaction of structural divisions of the University aimed at improving the methodological component of the pedagogical impact of all subjects of educational activity on students are proposed.

- The intent of this paper is to present the results and the proceedings of an interdisciplinary research about connections between training and sustainability in the field of eco-design applied in the traditional use of plant fibers. The research has begun three years ago and has taken the form of a pilot project entitled Design Zingaro - a participating experience of planning and training. Creations of Land Art and Design with plant materials. It was realized in an inclusive process of dialogue, trough participation of many university students, artists, naturalists, forest staff and master weaver of traditional know-how of local craft. The educational activity was designed in partnership with all the stakeholders. The action of coordination has revealed vital for the involvement of both participants linked to University and external ones (artists, naturalists, forest staff and master weaver). From the methodological point of view, the process of training and planning has to be analyzed, through an ecological approach to epistemology and by a systemic view. The analysis has to be focused on relationships that enabled the conduct of the process. The main nodal relationships form the basis to build up a reticular and systemic model, able to describe the complexity of our process. There are many thematic issues covered by the research. Individuals with pervasive developmental disorders should be supported with special education programs that are planned according to the type and degree of the disorder, age, characteristics, and needs of the individual. Search over internet resources may provide suitable educational material and methods (and associated activity/game). However, syntactic search in today's static-based internet is insufficient to offer desired relevant results. An intelligent system able to identify the needed educational methods and material with the help of semantic web-based agents will not only contribute to the development of individuals with disorders, and support education specialists in this process, but also be extremely useful for the families of these individuals in assisting and monitoring their child's developmental progress. In this chapter, an agent-based educational activity suggestion system of children with pervasive developmental disorder for guiding education and training staff activities is proposed.

The rapid growth of technological advances in recent years has opened a completely new dimension to the progresses in education and training. The emergence of e-learning has created not only business and educational opportunities, but also significantly improved the standard of the society. This chapter explores into the implementation of e-learning and its impact on a community, similar to a university or corporate setup. To this aim, a brief introduction into e-learning technology and an example of using Blackboard Learning System are brought forth, along with some critical success factors. Projecting the e-learning advantages, along with the digital library concepts, the economic benefits of such implementation are highlighted. The thought of discussion then moves to the perspective of students and teachers on e-learning. As the trend in technological world is moving towards mobility, the wireless e-learning perception is also conferred. In the concluding remarks, the e-learning implementation is noted as a positive endeavor to boost the economic growth.

AbstractThe changing approach to a physician’s profession brings about changes in the professional education and training of family physicians as well as in their continuous qualification improvement. For this reason, during the reformation of Lithuania’s primary healthcare system, not only alterations in family physicians’ activity, but also the changes in their education and training and the updating and improvement of their curriculum were seen as priority areas.The aim of the study was to reveal and compare resident physicians’ attitude to the peculiarities of the professional education and training of family physicians based on the traditional and problem-based learning systems at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (subsequently, LSMU).The study on the professional education and training of family physicians was conducted in 2005 and in 2015. The quantitative study was carried out via a written questionnaire survey. The studied population consisted of resident physicians who were studying family medicine at the LSMU.The analysis of the peculiarities of the professional education and training of family physicians showed that resident physicians acquired sufficient knowledge and skills in the fields of disease diagnostics and treatment, qualification improvement, disease prevention, and teamwork organization. Resident physicians had insufficient skills to adapt to new conditions of activity, and their studies did not develop creative thinking. The problem-based learning (PBL) system helps future family physicians to develop essential competences and to acquire knowledge and skills required for the career of a family physician.

The aim of this study was to systematically review the performance of deep learning technology in detecting and classifying pulmonary nodules on computed tomography (CT) scans that were not from the Lung Image Database Consortium and Image Database Resource Initiative (LIDC-IDRI) database. Furthermore, we explored the difference in performance when the deep learning technology was applied to test datasets different from the training datasets. Only peer-reviewed, original research articles utilizing deep learning technology were included in this study, and only results from testing on datasets other than the LIDC-IDRI were included. We searched a total of six databases: EMBASE, PubMed, Cochrane Library, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE), Scopus, and Web of Science. This resulted in 1782 studies after duplicates were removed, and a total of 26 studies were included in this systematic review. Three studies explored the performance of pulmonary nodule detection only, 16 studies explored the performance of pulmonary nodule classification only, and 7 studies had reports of both pulmonary nodule detection and classification. Three different deep learning architectures were mentioned amongst the included studies: convolutional neural network (CNN), massive training artificial neural network (MTANN), and deep stacked denoising autoencoder extreme learning machine (SDAE-ELM). The studies reached a classification accuracy between 68–99.6% and a detection accuracy between 80.6–94%. Performance of deep learning technology in studies using different test and training datasets was comparable to studies using same type of test and training datasets. In conclusion, deep learning was able to achieve high levels of accuracy, sensitivity, and/or specificity in detecting and/or classifying nodules when applied to pulmonary CT scans not from the LIDC-IDRI database.
