Tanaman buah yang berpotensi sebagai bahan obat adalah buah naga. Buah naga dapat mengobati berbagai macam penyakit diantaranya adalah penyeimbang kadar gula darah, pencegah kanker usus, perlindungan kesehatan mulut, pencegah pendarahan dan obat keluhan keputihan. Rancangan penelitian adalah the post test only design yang terbagi menjadi 3 kelompok. Kelompok uji dengan pemberian ekstrak gel buah naga dengan konsentrasi PVP 5%, 7,5% dan 10%. Masing-masing kelompok diuji stabilitas pada suhu 27oC dan 40oC di laboratorum STIKES Kendal. Hasil pengujian kemudaian dianalisa dengan menggunakan uji anova. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan kondisi yang diinginkan dalam waktu sesingkat mungkin dengan cara menyimpan sediaan pada suhu 27oC dan 40oC.  Uji fitokimia pada ekstrak buah naga menunjukkan adanya senyawa flavonoid, saponin. Sediaan gel buah naga mengandung saponin dan flavonoid. Pada uji stabilitas dengan basis polivinil alkohol pada suhu 270C dan tidak stabil pada suhu 400C pada uji homogenitas, elastisitas, pH, dan tidak stabil pada organoleptis, uji daya sebar dan waktu kering. Sediaan gel buah naga pada suhu 270C dan 400C pada uji organoleptis, homogenitas, elastisitas, pH yang paling stabil pada konsentrasi 10% pada suhu 27oC.   Kata kunci : gel ektrak buah naga, stabilitas penyimpanan   STABILITY OF HYLOCEREUS POLYRHIZUS EXTRACT GEL FORMULATION   ABSTRACT Fruit plants that have potential as medicinal ingredients are Hylocereus polyrhizus. H. polyrhizus can treat various diseases including balancing blood sugar levels, preventing colon cancer, protecting oral health, preventing bleeding and complaints of vaginal discharge.The study design was the post test only design which was divided into 3 groups. Test group by giving dragon fruit gel extract with PVP concentration of 5%, 7.5% and 10%. The results of the noise test were analyzed using anova test. The purpose of this study was to obtain the desired conditions in the shortest time possible by storing preparations at temperatures of 27oC and 40oC in Kendal STIKES laboratory. Phytochemical tests on dragon fruit extracts showed the presence of flavonoids, saponins. H. polyrhizus gel  preparations contain saponins and flavonoids. In the stability test on the basis of polyvinyl alcohol at 270C and unstable at 400C on the homogeneity, elasticity, pH, and unstable test on organoleptic, spreadability test and dry time. H. polyrhizus gel preparations at 270C and 400C at the organoleptic test, homogeneity, elasticity, and pH are the most stable at a concentration of 10% at 27oC. Keywords: hylocereus polyrhizus gel, storage stability

Dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) is known for its purple-coloured peels and pulp, which can be attributed to the presence of betalains. In this study, the potential of red dragon fruit as a source of natural colorant was investigated. Betacyanins were extracted from red dragon fruit peels and flesh in 1:3 ratio with water. Microencapsulation by spray-drying was done by adding 5% and 10% (w/v) maltodextrin (DE 11.8) to peels and flesh extracts, respectively. The spray-dried colorant powders all obtained <10% moisture content, 5.261-6.409 g/100g hygroscopic moisture content, and 5.317-7.349(mg/100L) betacyanin content. Morphological characterization revealed spherical, agglomerated particles with visible cracks on the surface. The stability study conducted showed that pigment retention was lowest at 70°C and highest at 4°C. <p><span>Dental caries is a common problem in children. Health education by playing games is necessary to improve skills of children in dental care and oral health. Health education materials with quartet cards are presented in the form of pictures and interesting information. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of quartet card game method in improving knowledge and attitude about oral and dental health. The study used quasi experiment research with pre and post-test group designs. Samples were 56 children aged 8-10 years. Data analysis used paired sample-test. The results show that there was an increase in knowledge and attitude after health education using a quartet card game. Regarding knowledge, analysis showed t=13.635, p value = 0.000, α: 0.05, while on attitude aspect, analysis showed t= 9,352 and p-value = 0.000 α: 0.05. Quartet card game is effective to improve knowledge and attitude about dental care and oral health among children.</span></p>

Abstract: Oral health is still a major problem in Indonesia. Ignorance towards oral health has lead to accumulation of dental plaques. Children aged 8-10 are susceptible to have dental caries because they like to consume rich-sugar foods. Moreeover, these children are in the process of teeth changes and the growth of new teeth. There are many methods to prevent plaque forming besides tooth brushing inter alia oral rinsing which can cover wider surfaces of the oral cavity. This study was aimed to determine the effect of oral rinsing with green tea solution on reducing dental plaque accumulation among children aged 8-10 years. This was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test and post-test group design. Population of study was students of SDN 126 Manado aged 8-10 years old. Samples were obtained by using total sampling method. There were 32 participants divided into two groups: rinsing with green tea solution and rinsing with 0.2% chlorhexidine solution (control group). The paired t-test stated that the accumulation of plaque was decreased after rinsing with green tea solution significantly (p=0.001). Meanwhile, the t-independent test on green tea solution and chlorhexidine had different scores in reducing plaque accumulation (p=0.004). Conclusion: Oral rinsing with green tea solution could reduce plaque accumulation in students aged 8-10 years, however, the mean reduction of plaque accumulation after rinsing with green tea solution was less than after rinsing with 0.2% chlorhexidine solution. Keywords: dental plaque, green tea Abstrak: Masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut masih menjadi perhatian di Indonesia. Salah satu penyebab ialah terabaikannya kesehatan gigi dan mulut yang mengakibatkan timbulnya akumulasi plak pada gigi. Usia 8-10 tahun sangat rentan terhadap karies karena anak senang mengonsumsi makanan yang mengandung gula. Pada usia ini diperlukan perawatan lebih intensif karena terjadi pergantian gigi dan tumbuhnya gigi baru. Pendekatan pencegahan yang dikenal selain menyikat gigi ialah dengan berkumur yang mencapai lebih banyak permukaan rongga mulut, sehingga efektivitas kontrol plak meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh berkumur dengan larutan teh hijau dalam menurunkan akumulasi plak pada gigi anak berusia 8-10 tahun. Jenis penelitian ialah kuasi-eksperimental dengan pre-test dan post-test group design. Metode pengambilan sampel ialah total sampling Populasi penelitian ialah siswa SDN 126 Manado berusia 8-10 tahun dengan 32 orang responden yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu kelompok perlakuan dengan larutan teh hijau, dan kelompok kontrol dengan chlorhexidine 0,2%.. Uji t-paired menyatakan antara sebelum dan sesudah berkumur larutan teh hijau terjadi penurunan akumulasi plak yang bermakna (p=0,001). Berdasarkan uji t-independent larutan teh hijau dan chlorhexidine memiliki penurunan akumulasi plak yang berbeda (p=0,004). Simpulan: Larutan teh hijau dapat menurunkan akumulasi plak pada siswa berusia 8-10 tahun. Rerata penurunan akumulasi plak gigi berkumur dengan larutan teh hijau lebih kecil daripada berkumur dengan chlorhexidine 0,2%.Kata kunci: plak gigi, teh hijau

The petroleum fuel crisis shows that Indonesia's fossil energy reserves are limited. It is necessary to develop an environmentally, friendly and sustainable alternative energy, one of which is bioethanol. This study aims to determine the bioethanol levels of dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) peel with the treatment of cellulase enzymes from Trichoderma reesei and Aspergillus niger. This research was an experimental study that uses steps such as making dragon fruit peel substrate and filtrate, cellulose degradation with enzymes from Trichoderma reesei and Aspergillus niger and inoculating with yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) with a fermentation time of 96 hours and then measured reducing sugar levels with the method of DNS, distillation, and the measurement of bioethanol levels using alcohol meters. The results have shown that using enzymes from Trichoderma reesei and Aspergillus niger can increase the reduction of 49.68 %  sugar levels in the treatment of T.reesei: A.niger (3: 1) and produce the highest bioethanol level, which is 2.46 % in the treatment of T.reesei: A.niger (2: 1)

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a collection of metabolic symptoms that arise in a person caused by an increase in blood glucose due to damage to insulin secretion or resistance to insulin or both. Diabetes mellitus medication can be either parenteral or oral which can cause side effects in long-term use such as mild diarrhea, bloating, fatigue acidosis, even hypoglycemic renal impairment. To prevent it can use alternative medicine using Dayak onion (Eleutherine palmifolia (L) Merr.). One of the active substances contained in the Dayak onion is the flavonoids. Flavonoids have antidiabetic activity through their functions as antioxidants. The study aims to determine the activity of Dayak scallion Extract (Eleutherine palmifolia (L) Merr.) To decrease blood sugar levels (Mus muscullus), which is glucose-induced. The research was conducted with research draft pre and post test with control group design. The mice used amounted to 25 male white mice that were divided into 5 groups i.e. negative control (CMC Na 0.5%), control positive (Glibenklamid 3 mg/kgBB), Dayak onion-leaf ethanol extract at a dose of 50 mg/kgBB, 100 mg/kgBB and 200 mg/kgBB. Observations of the decrease in blood sugar levels of each test group were conducted on the same day, 30 minutes, 60 and 90 after hyperglycemia. Results showed that Dayak onion leaves ethanol extract had activity as a lowering of blood sugar levels in glucose-induced white mice

Dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) which comes from family of Cactaceae is one of the tropical fruit in Malaysia. The peels of red dragon fruit are the possible sources of betacyanin, which responsible for the red-violet color even though the peel always regarded as a waste. The objective of this study is to assess the stability of natural pigment extract from dragon fruits peels by using simple water extraction method and assessed by ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectrometer. The extracted natural pigments then were introduced to several optimization conditions such as extraction time (1 – 6 hours), temperature (25 – 100 °C) and a range of pH (2 – 12). This study was also investigated the stability of natural pigment towards light. Results analysis of dragon fruit peels extracted shown that the optimum conditions were 4 hours of extraction time, 25 °C and pH 5. Sample extraction of natural pigment that has been optimized was more stable compare to control when exposed to light. In addition, the natural pigment extracted from dragon fruit peel was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer. In conclusion, the natural pigment extracted by using solvent extraction method from dragon fruit peels has ability to be used as natural colorant.

Logoterapi merupakan terapi untuk menemukan makna positif dibalik sebuah kejadian yang tidak diharapkan. Logoterapi dilaksanakan secara individu maupun berkelompok dalam bentuk konseling dan berorientasi pada pencarian makna hidup individu. Tujuan logoterapi meningkatkan makna pengalaman hidup individu yang diarahkan kepada pengambilan keputusan yang bertanggung jawab. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan rancangan pre-experiment dengan metode pre and post test group, artinya pengumpulan data dilakukan terhadap responden untuk membandingkan kualitas hidup sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan intervensi. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode total sampling yaitu pengambilan seluruh sampel dengan tetap memperhatikan kriteria yang telah ditetapkan. Jumlah pasien yang menjalani hemodialisis di RSUD Ungaran sebanyak 21 orang dan di RSUD Ambarawa sebanyak 25 pasien. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji t test dependent. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa dari 46 responden didapatkan rata-rata skor kualitas hidup pasien yang mejalani hemodialisis sebesar 60.22 dengan skor terrendah 55 dan skor tertinggi 69. Bahwa dari 46 responden didapatkan rata-rata skor kualitas hidup pasien yang mejalani hemodialisis sebesar 88.72 dengan skor terrendah 79 dan skor tertinggi 103. Hasil uji statistik dengan uji t test dependent diketahui ada pengaruh logoterapi terhadap kemampuan memaknai hidup pada klien yang menjalani hemodialisis di RSUD Kabupaten Semarang (p value: 0,0001). Saran perlunya peningkatan kemampuan perawat dalam memberikan layanan kesehatan termasuk pemberian atau pemanduan penemuan makna hidup bagi pasien hemodialysis, agar selain dengan hemodialysis, ada faktor internal dari pasien yang dapat dijadikan sebagai motivasi untuk sembuh dari penyakit.   Kata Kunci: Logoterapi, kualitas hidup   IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF PATIENTS WITH RENAL FAILURE WHO UNDERWENT HEMODIALYSIS   ABSTRACT Logotherapy is a therapy to discover the positive meaning behind an unexpected event. Logotherapy is carried out individually or in groups in the form of counseling and oriented to the search for the meaning of individual life. This study aims to improve the quality of life of patients with renal failure who underwent hemodialysis. This research was conducted by using pre-experiment with pre-post test study. The sampling technique was done by the convenience sampling. The number of patients undergoing hemodialysis as many as 46 respondents. Data analysis was done by using test t test dependent. The result showed that from 46 respondents got the mean of quality of life of patients who had hemodialysis 60.22 with lowest score 55 and highest score 69. Whereas from 46 respondents got the mean score of life quality of patients who had hemodialysis 88.72 with score the lowest score 79 and the highest score 103. The result of statistical test with t test dependent is known there is influence of logoterapi to the ability of meaningful life on client who undergo hemodialysis at Semarang Regency hospitals (p value: 0.0001). Advice on the need to improve the nurse's ability to provide health services, including the provision or guidance of the discovery of the meaning of life for hemodialysis patients, in addition to hemodialysis, there are internal factors of the patient that can be used as a motivation to recover from illness.   Keywords: Logotherapy, quality of life, kidney failure.
