<p><em><em>H</em></em><em>ypertension and its complications can be minimized by using pharmacological and non- pharmacological therapy. One of the non-pharmacological therapies is musical therapy. This literature review aims to find out how music can affect blood pressure. This literature review follows the method of analyzing PICO (problem, intervention, comparison, outcome) from 20 articles obtained from Google Scholar, Science Direct, and OAJSE from 2001-2018 using the following keywords: 'Musical Therapy', 'Music for Hypertension', and 'Hypertension Therapy'. From 20 articles, the musical therapy showed effective outcome to decrease blood pressure in patients with hypertension, including by using classical music, instrumental music, and moderate frequency music. The result of this literature review recommends the application of musical therapy to decrease blood pressure for patients with hypertension. </em></p><p><strong>Keywords: </strong><em>musical therapy, hypertension, blood pressure</em><strong></strong></p><p><em><br /></em></p><p><em><br /></em></p>

Background: Elderly as one of vulnerable population has experienced several risk of cardiovascular system disturbance such as hypertension. Hypertension be non communicable disease most suffered elderly in some countries. Objective: This literature review aimed at describing the effect of traditional music therapy on blood pressure among elderly with hypertension. Method: This study carried out from databases such as EBSCOhost, Scopus, Pubmed, ProQuest, Science Direct and Sage with limited years of an article published in the last ten years (2008-2018). Result: Fifteen most relevant articles were extracted in this study and found that traditional music therapy provide a positive effect to decrease blood pressure’s elderly with hypertension and this finding explained clearly with Roy’s Adaptation Model. Conclusion: Traditional music therapy provides a positive effect in lowering blood pressure’s elderly with hypertension. This therapy can be given as single intervention or collaboration with other non pharmacological therapy such as calisthenics, breathing exercises, muscle relaxation, lifestyle modifications and walking-based exercise.

ABSTRACTHypertension is the most commonly encountered problems experienced by the elderly with sometimes unknown cause. One effort to lower blood pressure in the elderly is to provide yoga exercises, where yoga exercises can stimulate endorphin hormone expenditure. The purpose of review was to determine the effectiveness of yoga exercises for decreasing blood pressure in the elderly. An initial search for articles was done on Google Scholar and PubMed. Studies obtained about exercise therapy for hypertension elderly have 4,560 articles / journals but only 5 articles meet the search criteria. According to the search results, yoga exercises can reduce blood pressure in the elderly. Besides, it is also very important to be applied as a non-pharmacological therapy for the elderly who have a medical history of hypertension. It is expected that health professionals can recommend this as a therapy for lowering blood pressure in the elderly.  ABSTRAKHipertensi adalah masalah yang paling sering ditemui yang dialami oleh lansia dengan penyebab yang terkadang tidak diketahui. Salah satu upaya menurunkan tekanan darah pada lansia adalah dengan memberikan senam yoga, dimana senam yoga dapat merangsang pengeluaran hormon endorphin. Tujuan review adalah untuk mengetahui keefektifan senam yoga dalam menurunkan tekanan darah pada lansia. Pencarian awal untuk artikel dilakukan di Google Scholar dan PubMed. Studi tentang terapi senam lansia hipertensi didapatkan 4.560 artikel / jurnal tetapi hanya 5 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria pencarian. Menurut hasil pencarian, senam yoga dapat menurunkan tekanan darah pada lansia. Disamping itu juga sangat penting diterapkan sebagai terapi non farmakologi bagi lansia yang memiliki riwayat kesehatan hipertensi. Diharapkan tenaga kesehatan dapat merekomendasikan hal ini sebagai terapi penurunan tekanan darah pada lansia.

Terapi non farmakologi dapat membantu pasien mengatasi tekanan darah dengan efek samping yang minimal. Tujuan: Mengidentifikasi studi literatur efektifitas terapi non farmakologi terhadap penurunan tekanan darah pada pasien end stage renal disease. Metode: Desain penelitian Literature  Review, online database adalah jurnal Science Direct, PubMed(NCBI), google scholar. Jurnal yang digunakan dalam kurun kurun waktu 2012-2020, pencarian menggunakan Populasi : pasien ESRD dengan hipertensi, intervensi :terapi non farmakologi, comparison: terapi komplomentar, outcome:penurunan tekanan darah, study design : literature review dan quasi experiment. Hasil: Didapatkan 6893 jurnal, diseleksi menggunakan kriteria inklusi dan ekslusi,melalui diagram prisma didapatkan menjadi 12 jurnal. Terapi non farmakologi yang digunakan adalah progressive muscel relaxation (4 jurnal); terapi massase (1 jurnal ); terapi music (4 jurnal); intradialitic exercise (4 jurnal) Kesimpulan: Terapi non farmakologi bermakna di dalam studi literature untuk menurunkan tekanan darah yang bekerja dengan prinsip relaksasi, berpengaruh dalam peningkatan hormon endorphin yang menyebabkan pembuluh darah berdilatasi sehingga tekanan darah mengalami penurunan. Kata Kunci : Terapi Non farmakologi, Hipertensi , End Stage Renal Disease   ABSTRACT   Background: End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) can be caused by uncontrolled blood pressure (hypertension) or kidney disease can cause hypertension. Non-pharmacological therapy can help patients with blood pressure with minimal side effects. Objective: To conduct a literature study on the effectiveness of non-pharmacological therapies in reducing blood pressure of End Stage Renal Disease patients. Method: Literature Review research design, the data were obtained from online database such as Science Direct, PubMed (NCBI), and google scholar in the period of 2012-2020. The Population in this study was ESRD patients with hypertension and the intervention given were non-pharmacological therapies, comparison: commentary therapy, outcome: lowering blood pressure, study design: literature review and quasi experiment. Results: There were 6893 journals, selected using inclusion and exclusion criteria, through the PRISMA diagram they were narrowed down into 12 journals. The non-pharmacological therapies used were progressive muscle relaxation (4 journals); massage therapy (1 journal); music therapy (4 journals); and intradialytic exercise (4 journals). Conclusion: Non-pharmacological therapy is significant in literature studies to reduce blood pressure which works with the principle of relaxation. AbstractSpiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) is a relaxation technique which is a form of mind-body-therapy from complementary and alternative therapies. SEFT works by activating the body's meridian pathways by light tapping on 9 or 18 meridian points of the body, with the mind and heart concentrating on the place and the pain that we feel accompanied by prayer. The study aimed to examine the effect of SEFT therapy on blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension. The study applied a literature review. By using the keywords "SEFT, Hypertension, Elderly" the articles were searched from GARUDA and Google Scholar databases. The articles that published in period of 2011 to 2021 and fit with the inclusion and exclusion criteria were reviewed. The quality of articles was assessed using CONSORT checklist. The results show that the mean systolic and diastolic blood pressure before SEFT therapy was 163 mmHg and 93 mmHg, respectively. Meanwhile, the mean systolic and diastolic blood pressure after SEFT therapy was 154 mmHg and 88 mmHg, respectively. There is a significant effect of SEFT therapy on reducing blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension. SEFT therapy is effective and can be applied as a complementary therapy in reducing blood pressure in the elderly. Based on the results, SEFT therapy can be socialized to the wider community and can be applied as an alternative therapy to reduce blood pressure in hypertensive patients.Keywords: Elderly, Hypertension, SEFT AbstrakSpiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) merupakan teknik relaksasi yang merupakan salah satu bentuk mind-body-therapy dari terapi komplementer dan terapi alternatif. Untuk mengetahui pengaruh terapi SEFT terhadap tekanan darah pada lansia. Penelitian ini menggunakan literature review, dengan pencarian artikel menggunakan database garba garuda dan google scholar untuk menemukan artikel yang sesuai kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi dengan memasukan kata kunci “SEFT, Hipertensi, Lansia” dalam periode 2011-2021. Instrument untuk menilai kualitas artikel menggunakan CONSORT Instrumen. Hasil literature review menunjukan mean tekanan darah systole dan diastole sebelum dilakukan terapi SEFT adalah 163 mmHg dan 93 mmHg. Sedangkan mean tekanan darah systole dan diastole setelah dilakukan terapi SEFT adalah 154 mmHg 88 mmHg. Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan terapi SEFT terhadap penurunan tekanan darah pada lansia lansia dengan hipertensi.Terapi SEFT efektif dan dapat diterapkan sebagai terapi komplementer dalam penurunan tekanan darah pada lansia. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini terapi SEFT dapat disosialisasikan kepada masyarakat luas dan dapat diterapkan sebagai terapi alternatif untuk menurunkan tekanan darah pada pasien hipertensi.Kata kunci: SEFT; Lansia;Hipertensi

Patient with hypertension not knowing that they have hypertension and in the end they have complications of hypertension, so it is often called the silent killer disease. Things that can be do so hypertension does not get worse is do a low salt diet. This study aims to determine the application of a low salt diet in patients with hypertension. The research method uses a traditional literature review, articles used by Portal Garuda and Google Scholar with a range of 2016-2020. The keywords used in the article search were low salt diet, hypertension. The results of the search for articles obtained on the Portal Garuda are 12 articles on Google Scholar are 4,030 articles, of which are only 15 articles that match the topic. Patients with hypertension mostly adhere to a low salt diet but there are still many who do not adhere to a low salt diet. Knowledge, attitude, family support and self awareness are factors that affects hypertension. The conclusion in this study, the application of a low-salt diet in hypertensive patients can be carried out well, hypertensive patients have knowledge, attitude and good family support for the implementation of a low salt diet and hypertensive patients who have the awareness to control their blood pressure. Suggestions for health workers can provide counseling regarding a low salt diet, for people with hypertension to apply a low salt diet properly so that blood pressure can be controlled.

Abstract: Tooth extraction is the most common dental procedure in dentistry besides dental filling. Anxiety is a significant problem faced by patients who undergo dental extraction. There are many factors which can affect anxiety level visually and auditorily. Non-pharmacological intervention including music therapy has a substantial role as interventional media or additional of other therapies in reducing pain and anxiety. This study was aimed to evaluate the roles of music as a non-pharmacological intervention to reduce anxiety in patients undergoing tooth extraction. This was a literature review study using three databases; google scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect. The keywords used were music as non-pharmacological intervention reducing extanxiety during tooth extraction. There were 10 literatures in this study. The results showed that music had important roles as an interventional media or additional of other therapies in reducing pain and exaggerated anxiety. Music could also give relaxing effect, reduce anxiety, improve mood, control emotion, and reduce blood pressure as well as pulse rate during tooth extraction. In conclusion, music can be used as an alternative in reducing the anxiety during tooth extraction due to a variety of effects, such as sedating, decreasing the sensitivity to surrounding area, stabilizing emotion, and decreasing blood pressure as well as pulse rate.Keywords: music, anxiety, tooth extraction Abstrak: Ekstraksi gigi merupakan tindakan yang paling sering dilakukan dalam bidang kedokeran gigi selain penambalan. Kecemasan merupakan hal yang selalu dirasakan saat akan dilakukan ekstraksi gigi. Banyak hal yang dapat memengaruhi tingkat kecemasan pada tindakan ekstraksi gigi baik secara visual maupun auditorik. Intervensi nonfarmakologi dengan terapi musik berperan penting sebagai media intervensi dalam konteks meringankan rasa nyeri dan cemas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi peran musik sebagai intervensi nonfarmakologik dalam menurunkan kecemasan pada pasien ekstraksi gigi. Jenis penelitian ialah literature review. Database yang digunakan yaitu google scholar, PubMed, dan ScienceDirect dengan kata kunci yaitu musik sebagai intervensi nonfarmakologik mengurangi kecemasan ekstraksi gigi. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan bahwa musik berperan penting sebagai media intervensi atau pelengkap dari bentuk terapi lain dalam konteks meringankan rasa nyeri atau cemas berlebihan. Musik juga memberikan efek menenangkan, mengurangi kegelisahan, membuat perasaan menjadi rileks dan santai, menstabilkan emosi, menurunkan kecemasan pasien, serta menurunkan tekanan darah dan denyut nadi saat ekstraksi gigi. Simpulan penelitian ini ialah musik dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif untuk menurunkan kecemasan pasien saat ekstraksi gigi dengan memberikan efek menenangkan, mengurangi kepekaan terhadap lingkungan sekitar, menstabilkan emosi, serta menurunkan tekanan darah dan denyut nadi.Kata kunci: musik, kecemasan, ekstraksi gigi

AbstractCancer is a malignant disease caused by the growth of abnormal body cells and causes tissue damage that can cause pain. One therapy that can be used to cut pain is classical music therapy. The purpose of this scientific paper is to describe the application of classical music therapy in reducing pain in cancer patients. The writing method uses a literature review of three articles obtained from Google Scholar with the keywords “cancer”, “pain”, and “classical music therapy”, in the form of full text articles published in 2014-2020. The results of the literature review from the three articles showed that the average pain before being given classical music therapy was 5.23 and after being given classical music therapy the average pain was 3.82 with a p value < 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that classical music therapy can reduce pain of cancer patients. This result can be used as a consideration for the nurses to apply classical music therapy to cancer patients who experience pain.Keywords:Cancer; Pain; Classical Music Therapy. AbstrakKanker adalah penyakit ganas yang disebabkan oleh pertumbuhan sel-sel tubuh yang abnormal serta menyebabkan kerusakan jaringan sehingga dapat menimbulkan nyeri. Salah satu terapi yang dapat digunakan untuk mengurangi nyeri adalah terapi musik klasik. Tujuan dari karya tulis ilmiah ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran penerapan terapi musik klasik dalam menurunkan nyeri pada pasien kanker. Metode penulisan menggunakan literature review dari tiga artikel yang didapatkan dari google scholar dengan kata kunci “kanker”, “nyeri”, dan “terapi musik klasik”, berupa artikel fulltex terbit tahun 2014-2020. Hasil literature review dari ketiga artikel menunjukkan rata-rata nyeri sebelum diberikan terapi musik klasik 5,23 dan setelah diberikan terapi musik klasik rata-rata nyeri menjadi 3,82 dengan p value < 0,05. Simpulan dari literature review ini menunjukkan bahwa terapi musik klasik dapat menurunkan nyeri pada pasien kanker. Saran bagi profesi keperawatan dapat menerapkan terapi musik klasik pada pasien kanker yang mengalami nyeri.Kata kunci: Kanker; Nyeri; Terapi Musik Klasik

Hypertension is a deadly disease in the world and can affect anyone. One of the treatments that can be done to control blood pressure is progressive muscle relaxation therapy. The purpose of this literature review is to analyze the application of progressive muscle relaxation therapy in lowering blood pressure in families with hypertension based on empirical studies over the last ten years. The design of this study is a literature review. The method of this study was carried out by analyzing articles related to progressive muscle relaxation therapy in reducing blood pressure in families with hypertension through google scholar data in an empirical study in the last 10 years as many as 5 journals according to the study. The results of the analysis show that the application of progressive muscle relaxation can lower blood pressure in families with hypertension. Thus it is expected that progressive muscle relaxation therapy can be applied by nurses as an implementation strategy in reducing blood pressure in families with hypertension.Keywords: Hypertensive, Blood Pressure, Progressive Muscle RelaxationABSTRAKHipertensi merupakan penyakit yang mematikan di dunia dan dapat menyerang siapa saja. Tujuan literature review ini untuk menganalisis penerapan terapi relaksasi otot progresif dalam menurunkan tekanan darah pada keluarga penderita hipertensi berdasarkan studi empiris selama sepuluh tahun terakhir. Desain penelitian ini adalah literature review. Metode studi ini dilakukan dengan menganalisis artikel yang berkaitan dengan terapi relaksasi otot progresif dalam menurunkan tekanan darah pada keluarga dengan hipertensi melalui data google scholar secara study empiris dalam 10 tahun terakhir sebanyak 5 jurnal yang sesuai dengan penelitian. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penerapan relaksasi otot progresif dapat menurunkan tekanan darah pada keluarga dengan hipertensi. Dengan demikian diharapkan terapi relaksasi otot progresif dapat diterapkan perawat sebagai strategi pelaksanaan dalam penurunan tekanan darah pada keluarga dengan hipertensi. Introduction: Progressive Muscle Relaxation is a muscle relaxation technique that does not require imagination, perseverance or suggestion. Muscle relaxation is a skill that can be learned and used to reduce or eliminate tension and stimulate a sense of comfort without being dependent on things / subjects outside of itself. Objectives: reduce pain, reduce blood pressure, reduce anxiety, and reduce stress. Method: this study explores evidence published in electronic data: Pubmed, google scholar. Five studies were included in the last analysis. Results: we were able to see a significant effect in reducing blood pressure in hypertensive disease receiving Progressive Muscle Relaxation compared to the group that did not receive Progressive Muscle Relaxation training. Conclusion: These results show that Progressive Muscle Relaxation can be a non-pharmacological therapy in reducing blood pressure in Hypertension and nurses can participate in providing this training.
