The recent COVID-19 pandemic is the defining global health crisis of our time and little is known about this disease. It has been reported that advanced age is considered a major risk factor for COVID-19 complications, and data suggest that this disease is deadlier for men than women but these observations are currently unclear. Regarding androgen action, it has been shown that certain smooth muscles are a target for androgens by inducing an acute relaxing effect in airway and vascular tissues that is nongenomically mediated; likewise, androgens are capable of inducing genomic anti-inflammatory and nongenomic hypotensive responses. The aim of this report is to associate the relationship between COVID-19 and aging men as well as the comorbidities presented in this group of patients linked with androgen deficiency. Remarkably, the nongenomic mechanisms of androgens as potential protectors are reviewed. On this basis, it is suggested that hypotestosteronemia may be a risk factor for COVID-19 severity.

When performing physical activity and sports, men and women are at risk of the plantar fascia that could decrease foot functions when walking, running, and jumping. Thus it requires accurate prediction results in handling it. This study aimed to determine whether clinical findings can help plantar fascia flexibility treatments and managements through ankle stretching and self-massage interventions on posture balance based on gender. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a 2x2 factorial design for male and female categories. The population of this study was 300 students, while the samples were 40 students aged 19-26 years, consisting of 20 males and 20 females. The sampling technique used stratified random sampling. Furthermore, the ankle dorsiflexion intervention was performed by stretching the ankle to overcome plantar stiffness. For self-massage, the golf ball roll relaxation gave a relaxing effect on plantar pressure. The ankle dorsiflexion and golf ball roll relaxation were performed for 45 seconds. The data collection instrument of this study was a standing stork test as a measurement reference. Data analysis used two-way ANOVA statistical test with the help of SPSS application. The results showed that the significance value of comparing ankle stretching and self-massage technique effects for plantar fascia on the posture balance based on gender was (p0.05). The significance value of posture balance in terms of gender was (p) = 0.417. Meanwhile, the difference between ankle stretching and self-massage interaction based on gender was (p) = 0.000. This study indicates that these findings can assist the treatment and management of plantar fascia flexibility through ankle stretching and self-massage interventions to balance the posture in terms of gender. Treatment for plantar fascia flexibility is more effective with ankle stretching.

The elderly are vulnerable to hypertension due to the accumulation of unhealthy lifestyles for a long time and can be exacerbated by the stress due to the inability to adapt to the decline in physical conditions, changes in roles and social relations, economic ability, degenerative diseases and treatment in the long term. Risk factors for hypertension can caused by stress. Stress management can be done with a combination of creative arts therapy that is singing, drawing, and storytelling which has a relaxing effect. This study aims to determine the effect of creative arts therapy on stress levels and blood pressure of the elderly with hypertension in Kesiman Kertalangu Village, East Denpasar City, Bali, Indonesia. This research was a quasy experiment with pre-test and post-test design. Samples used were 63 elderly with hypertension who experience mild and moderate stress using simple random sampling technique divided into three groups of treatment with the amount 21 elderly of each groups. Stres level of of hypertension were evaluated using The Stress Assessment Questionnaire and blood pressure measurement using manometer. The main results of this study indicated that creative art therapy can reduce stress of the elderly significantly with p value 0.000<0.05. An average of blood pressure in creative art therapy has decreased. Wilcoxon test results showed the p value of  blood pressure (sistole;diastole) for singing (0.002;0.014), storytelling (0.009;0.008) and drawing (0.016;0.011) <0.05 which means that there is an effect of those therapy on elderly blood pressure. The results of the Ancova analysis showed no difference in blood pressure results after each intervention was given to the elderly (p value 0.244>0.05 for systole dan p value 0.738>0.05 for diastole). That means that each intervention has a similar effect on reducing blood pressure. Creative arts therapy provides a relaxing effect while performing art activities so that feeling calms down and stimulates the healing process. Further research with a larger population needs to be done to increase public awareness of the benefits of creative art therapy to reduce stress and blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension. Methods: Sixty university students, aged between 20 and 25 with no psychiatric illnesses and no visual or hearing impairment were enrolled in this study. The participants were divided into subgroups consisting of ten people each. The two music applications were performed in two different sessions for each participants. All participants were given the trait anxiety inventory (STAI-2) at the beginning of the study, and state anxiety inventory (STAI-1) before the visual anxiety triggering material and after the music applications. Results: Both Sufi and Gregorian music caused a decrease in STAI-1 anxiety points, however, Sufi music was significantly effective in relieving anxiety compared to Gregorian music. Conclusion: The relatively more relaxing effect of Sufi music among participants may be due to the cultural archetypes.

Abstract: Tooth extraction is the most common dental procedure in dentistry besides dental filling. Anxiety is a significant problem faced by patients who undergo dental extraction. There are many factors which can affect anxiety level visually and auditorily. Non-pharmacological intervention including music therapy has a substantial role as interventional media or additional of other therapies in reducing pain and anxiety. This study was aimed to evaluate the roles of music as a non-pharmacological intervention to reduce anxiety in patients undergoing tooth extraction. This was a literature review study using three databases; google scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect. The keywords used were music as non-pharmacological intervention reducing extanxiety during tooth extraction. There were 10 literatures in this study. The results showed that music had important roles as an interventional media or additional of other therapies in reducing pain and exaggerated anxiety. Music could also give relaxing effect, reduce anxiety, improve mood, control emotion, and reduce blood pressure as well as pulse rate during tooth extraction. In conclusion, music can be used as an alternative in reducing the anxiety during tooth extraction due to a variety of effects, such as sedating, decreasing the sensitivity to surrounding area, stabilizing emotion, and decreasing blood pressure as well as pulse rate. Keywords: music, anxiety, tooth extraction Abstrak: Ekstraksi gigi merupakan tindakan yang paling sering dilakukan dalam bidang kedokeran gigi selain penambalan.
