The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of using tape-recorded aural models for home practice on selected sight-reading and performance skills of sixth-grade clarinet students. The experimental design was a pretest-posttest control-group design with an additional posttest measure. It was predicted that students in the experimental group would do significantly better than students in the control group with regard to pitch reading, rhythm reading, tempo accuracy, and intonation accuracy as measured by the sight-reading and performance tests. It was also projected that students in the experimental group would complete more music exercises during the study than students in the control group. The statistical analysis indicated no significant difference between the experimental and control groups with regard to either the skills measured or the number of music exercises completed during the study. These results appear to indicate that tape-recorded aural models used in this study had no observed effect on the selected music skills.

Objectives: Walking and balance control are determining factors in the independence of the elderly because they are the main components of daily physical activity. This study evaluated the effectiveness of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stability (DNS) training on balance and gait function in the elderly. Methods: This study had a pre-test/post-test design. It was a quasi-experimental study performed on 30 older men aged 60-70 years in Qom Province, Iran, in 2021. The elderly was randomly divided into experimental (n=15) and control (n=15) groups. The Experimental Group (EG) participated in three 45-min sessions of dynamic neuromuscular stability training every week for 6 weeks, and the Control Group (CG) continued their normal daily routine. Berg balance scale (dynamic balance), modified stork stand (static balance), and temporal and spatial gait parameters were used to collect information before and after applying the training protocol. The obtained data were analyzed using ANCOVA statistical method and the paired t test. Results: There were significant differences between pre-test and post-test in EG regarding the variables of dynamic balance, static balance (P=0.001), and gait function, but in the CG, no significant difference was observed for these variables (P>0.05). Also, there was a significant difference between the mean scores obtained in the balance and gait tests between the two groups (P<0.05), and EG performed better in the post-test. Discussion: DNS training due to the great variety of movement in different parts of the body and the effect on improving strength, flexibility, range of motion, and physical fitness can also improve balance and gait function in the elderly. According to the present study results, one of the best ways to reduce the costs and physical, psychological, and social problems caused by aging is to use DNS training for the elderly.

Background: Training is a common activity done in HR management practices. However, previous studies on the effectiveness of trainings show inconsistent results, in particular, on developing soft skills. Theoretically, achieving effectiveness is more difficult compared to hard skill training. Objectives: This study is aimed at examining whether training is effective to develop individual’s competencies in an organization, especially in the area of soft skills. Methods: This research uses experimental method by The Untreated Control Group Design with Pre-Post-Test. The study was conducted at a private hospital X in Semarang city. The participants of this study comprised of 496 subjects, which were divided into experimental and control groups. The intervention given to the experimental group was empathic communication training which is aimed at building sumeh (friendly) and nulungan (helpful) behavior, as the actualization of organizational values. The measurement of friendly and helpful behavior was done before and after the intervention, that was by post-test 1 and post-test 2. Results: There was a significant difference between the scores of pre-test and post-test 1 and there was no difference between the scores of post-test 1 and post-test 2 for experimental group. For the control group, there was no difference either between the scores of pre-test and post-test 1 or between post-test 1 and post-test 2. Conclusion: Emphatic communication training is effective to develop friendly and helpful behavior, where both of the behaviors are included in soft skills category.

Sensitive period is the right time to instill the basis of the importance of counting. In addition to counting skills that must be developed also pay attention to the application of learning used. However, in the learning process, teachers often forget the importance of playing methods. If too often with giving assignments the child will feel bored, therefore what is used is the method of playing. Play method is one method that can be used by teachers to teach the ability to count children in the beginning. Based on this background, the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of playing methods on initial numeracy skills. This study used the Quasi Experiment method with the Nonequevalent Control Group Design research design. The results of the pre test showed that there were no significant differences in the experimental group and the control group with p-value> 0.05, which was 0.135> 0.05 which was tested by the two average test results. While the post-test results showed that the initial numeracy ability after the application of the playing method experienced a significant difference with the p-value <0.05, that is with the results of 0.0001 with the Mann-Whitney test. This method of playing can be used as a learning suggestion for educators to improve their ability to have an early start.

<p class="Abstract">Drawing – based modeling as learning approach, it allows students to create models based on drawing which help them to run a simulation. Students can use drawing–based modeling to learn a pair of interacting population known as predato–prey system while they usually conducted practicum using diagram of organisms. This study was to explore students’ argumentation and students’ understanding on the concept of the ecosystem. The study was conducted quasi – experimental using the matching – only post-test – only control group design. The participants consist of 60 grade 10 senior high school students in Subang, West Java. They are placed into two groups, 30 students in the experimental group and 30 students in the control group. Data was collected through argumentation test and selected response test for assessing students’ understanding. Students’ argumentation were analyzed using Toulmin’s argumentation pattern and statistical analysis. The result showed there is no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group for students’ argumentation. Most of the students are predominantly at level 2. But the coherency of arguments of the experimental group is more coherent than the control group. It means that the students in experimental group can make logical claim and supported by the correct and relevant grounds (data, warrant, and backing). The result of students’ understanding showed there is a significant mean score between the experimental group and the control group whether 72.33 for the experimental group and 62.13 for the control group</p>
