Blended learning is a combination of traditional teaching method and the use of technology to provide a more organized learning approach in which it gives students extra control over the time, situation and ways of learning. This study investigates the effects of blended learning on motivating secondary level of students to learn English language. A pilot study was conducted. The sample consists of sixty secondary levels of students in a particular school in Shah Alam district, Selangor, Malaysia. The pre and posttest were used to test students’ achievement and the survey adapted from Gardner’s Attitude/Motivation Test Battery was implied to determine students’ motivation level before and after the use of blended learning. The analysis through paired-sample t-test revealed that, there was improvement on the level of motivation of the students and there were significant differences on student’s achievement whereas they performed better after the use of blended learning. The use of blended learning has a positive impact in individual professional development and instead of measuring the effect of blended learning towards student’s achievement; attitude or motivation to learn a language, further studies should also measure the other impact of blended learning itself especially in education.

The notion of using technology for learning is not new. However, the high level of digital exclusion of individuals with intellectual disabilities is well-documented. The purpose of this paper was to investigate the effect of two different pedagogies for students with intellectual disability (ID). The main objective was the comparison of assistive technology and the traditional teaching method for improving Urdu vocabulary. Using a quasi-experimental design, 8 ID students of 10 to 15 yearsof age were selected and divided into control and experimental groups. Their performance was measured before and after a six-week intervention program. The results showed that mobile-based technology improved the experimental group’s performance as compared to the control group. The technology had a positive impact on the learning of Urdu vocabulary by students with ID. The findings suggest that learning the Urdu language through game-based software/programs/utilities can improve students’ learning in the classroom. Teachers can use mobile phone as a learning tool to enhance their learning goals.

Medical students generally express a low interest in Occupational Medicine. We aimed to assess the attitudes and changes in attitudes of students towards this area after completing a course on Occupational Medicine in two Medical Universities in Spain (Zaragoza and Castilla-La Mancha). The teaching method included blended learning as a model that used online virtual patient platforms (CASUS) and/or EMUTOM, as well as traditional methods such as face-to-face teaching. A total of 526 students (98 of whom attended the University of Castilla-La Mancha) participated during three academic years (2015–2016, 2016–2017 and 2017–2018). The validation of the questionnaire was carried out using reliability, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. For the analysis of internal consistency and discrimination, Cronbach’s alpha was used. The adequacy of the factor analysis was measured by means of KMO, and a correlation matrix was examined by means of Bartlett’s test of sphericity. To identify differences between students before and after completing the course, the Mann–Whitney U-test for independent samples was used. Our results show that despite a negative or neutral attitude towards Occupational Medicine, the acquisition of competences and skills in this area and their training were recognized as fundamental for their future professional performance as doctors in any specialty.

English has been a subject in the university classroom since the 1980s. This subject helps produce more excellent talents in economics, politics, and culture who are proficient in English language in China, and enable our country to better integrate with the global economy. At the same time, the relationship between our country and the international community has become closer. However, the social environment is constantly developing and changing. The traditional teaching methods can be said to be ineffective and associated with many shortcomings. Traditional teaching methods were used in the English lessons. Under this teaching mode, students were the passive subjects on the receiving end of what have been taught. The teacher was always talking in the classroom and the students were listening. This teaching style also affects the effectiveness of learning. Compared with traditional teaching, interactive teaching method has its unique advantages. It is a new teaching mode and under this teaching mode, students can actively communicate with teachers in the classroom to complete learning tasks. The initiative to perform self-directed learning is also greatly improved, and the students’ English proficiency can be improved.

Blended cooperative learning applications, which offer education with the opportunities offered by information technologies, have the potential to increase the interaction between learners and support learners to learn information more permanently and to develop positive attitudes towards the lesson. Along with the developing technology, technological tools have been included in education. The effect of the blended learning method, which is a technological innovation, is very important in language teaching. The aim of this study; To determine the opinions of English teachers about blended teaching. Within the scope of this general purpose, the positive aspects and negative aspects of the technological tools, the advantages and disadvantages of the blended learning methods, the effect of this method on the students are determined by the English teachers working in the secondary school. A qualitative research method was used to reach the results of this research. The opinions of 15 English teachers who use the blended learning method and technological tools in their classes were taken. In the selection of the sample, the teachers' use of technology was taken as a basis. The opinions of 15 English teachers who used technological equipment in their classes and participated in the research voluntarily were consulted. The findings were thematised and explained with the content analysis method. It has been concluded that the teachers participating in the research have positive contributions to the learning of technological tools. It is among the results of the study that blended learning has important advantages such as providing instant feedback and continuous feedback to students, taking into account individual differences, increasing the interaction and communication outside the classroom, and increasing the interest in the lesson. RESUMOObjetivo: analisar o impacto da metodologia da simulação realística na visão dos acadêmicos de enfermagem. Método: estudo quanti-qualitativo, a partir da pesquisa-ação, utilizando questionário semiestruturado com amostra de 133 acadêmicos do 6º ao 10º semestre em uma Universidade privada. Resultados: 98% dos acadêmicos afirmaram gostar muito da aula com a metodologia de simulação; 97% relataram ter diferença na aprendizagem com a simulação; destes, 62% confirmaram ter maior rendimento no aprendizado quando utilizada a simulação com paciente simulado; e 35% mencionaram ter melhor rendimento quando utilizado o boneco estático. Conclusão: o estudo demonstrou impacto positivo da metodologia de simulação entre os acadêmicos ao demostrarem preferência no uso desta metodologia em detrimento ao método de ensino tradicional e que o uso dessa metodologia permite melhorias no processo de ensino-aprendizado. The accounting higher education has techniques of knowledge transfer for the professional formation of the academic, therefore, most of the teaching techniques are focused on the disclosure of the laws due to the financial movement of the organizations. Knowing this, much of the advancement in teaching is due to the transmission of the experience of the accounting professor and the student facing the labor market operations. There are other methods of teaching accounting such as lecture, case study, seminars, discussion and debate, however they are still focused on the transmission of experiences or the fictional representation of teaching. This article aims to highlight the use of board games in the Accounting Science course, the teaching based on game fiction, as a way of fixing the content in the teaching of cost accounting, compared to traditional teaching methods. To prove the hypothesis, a board game was created, focused on promoting student engagement and favored the transmission of course content. For research observation and control, questionnaires based research methods were used before and after the use of the game in specific classes of the Accounting Science course. The results were demonstrated through graphs for better visualization. Thus, it was possible to conclude that there was a significant difference in the results before and after the application of this teaching method. In addition, students interacted and became cooperatively involved, which proved the effectiveness of the method in motivating and engaging students in the teaching-learning process.

La metodología de enseñanza-aprendizaje Flipped-classroom se presenta como una metodología activa en la que se invierte el orden de aprendizaje, de este modo los estudiantes visionan video sesiones o poliformats en línea de los conceptos que se trabajan durante la sesión presencial. Este planteamiento de “invertir” con respecto a la clase tradicional ha sido aplicado a las prácticas de laboratorio de la asignatura de Expresión Gráfica en el Grado en Ingeniería en Tecnologías Industriales en el curso 2018-19 de la Universitat Politècnica de València. La clase inversa se organizó en sesiones semanales con visionado de videos antes y después de clase y resolución de ejercicios durante y después de clase, detallando el procedimiento seguido en cada sesión presencial. Todo ello gestionado desde la aplicación Lessons.La metodología flipped-classroom nos ha permitido aumentar la motivación de los alumnos, dilucidar y contrastar la percepción de los alumnos en relación al método de aprendizaje tradicional, favorecer el autoprendizaje y el aprendizaje colaborativo en el aula entre alumnos, así como mejorar la comunicación entre alumno y profesor. Por lo que respecta a la evaluación se aprecia una mejora en las calificaciones, así como una valoración positiva a la implementación de la clase inversa.AbstractThe Flipped Classroom teaching method is presented as an active method in which the normal procedure is inverted. The students watch video sessions or polyformats in line with the concepts taught in the normal class. This inverted approach with respect to the traditional class was applied to lab practice sessions in the subject of Graphic Expression as part of the Industrial Technologies Engineering Degree course at the Universitat Politècnica de València in the year 2018-19. The flipped classroom took place in weekly sessions with video sessions before and after, while problems were set to be solved during and after the class. The procedure was followed up later in in-class sessions. Everything was controlled by the Lessons app.This method was seen to increase students’ motivation and clarify their perceptions to a greater degree than the traditional teaching method, while encouraging self-learning and collaborative learning among the class members and improving student-lecturer communications. Evaluation grades were found to increase, and the Flipped Classroom technique was given the general approval of both students and lecturers.

<p><span lang="EN-US"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;">Chemistry is often perceived as being a dry and boring science subject, probably because of traditional teaching method, static textbook, lack of interactivity and difficulty in visualization of the abstract chemical concepts. E-learning resources (e-resources) and the utilization of technology have become one of the major trends in education, replacing the conventional textbook and traditional talk and chalk teaching method. A study was undertaken to assess students’ perceptions of the impact of the e-resources and technology on various aspects of their learning. Data were collected through a questionnaire involving 28 undergraduates, who were taking first-year Chemistry course in Taylor’s University, Malaysia. A Moodle e-Learning platform was made available to the students, where the students can assess e-resources anytime and anywhere. Innovative technologies such as mobile clicker, simulation and augmented reality (AR) were integrated into classroom instruction. Most of the students found the e-resources provided useful and well prepared them for the assessments in the course. Their understanding and ability to answer questions had improved. They were motivated to study the subject because it was more interactive and engaging. Overall findings showed that these e-resources and innovative technologies gave positive impact on students learning in chemistry.</span></span></p>
