This article aims to describe the acquisition of language function of three-year-olds in an urban educated family environment. This research utilizes a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research subjects are three-year-old children in an educated family environment in the city of Surakarta with a focus on language function. Data are obtained in school, family, and home environment. Data collection uses observation, recording, and note-taking techniques. Data analysis is performed using the translational, phonetic, and referential identity methods. Data validation applies to data source triangulation. The results of the research found three language functions acquired, including information function, exploration function, and persuasion function. The information function is obtained through the stimulation of the school environment, family environment, and play environment. The exploration function is utilized to convey the results of children's learning development. The function of persuasion is used by children to invite or seduce other people. It can be concluded that the three-year-old children are capable of acquiring various language functions with enough vocabulary to utilize them and stimulations at this stage are important and thus encouraged.

The conversation in therapeutic is a kind of institutional discourse that have its own characteristic to make the communication. This research aims to find the language function in the Cupping conversation between the therapist and the patient. This research uses descriptive method. The data of this research are the the transcriptions of recorded conversation between the therapist and the patient. The sources of this data are the conversation from five therapist and each therapist have four patients. Hence, there are 20 conversation recorded in this research. The records of their conversations are transcribed as the data. The theory that used in this research is Leech (1974) to show language functions of the conversation. The result of this research shows that the conversation between the Cupping therapists and the patients have the tendency to used several forms of language functions. It is found that almost all conversations contained the informative language, directive language, and phatic language.

This study aims to explain Indonesian language errors on signboards and banners in Magetan. The problem in this study is the mistake of using Indonesian on nameplate and banners in Magetan. The method used in the compilation of data uses a qualitative descriptive method of phenomenology. The data source in this study is a photo document that results from monitoring the use of Indonesian on signs and banners in the city of Magetan. For data retrieval techniques in this research using sampling snowball. The focus in Indonesian language error research on signboards and banners is on spelling, use of inappropriate sentences and foreign words.

AbstractThe purpose of this research is to investigate the language function from the discourse produced by traditional medicine sellers. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The data of this research were obtained from the discourse produced by five medicine sellers in different area. The data were analyzed by using Geoffery Leech (1974) theory. The finding divided into three types, they were informative, directive, and phatic function. In informative function also found four type of informative, they were giving opinion, advice, making announcement, and admonish. In directive function was found two types, they were command and request. Last was phatic function. Most of conversations had similar types of language function. However, findings showed that there were some types of language function were not found in each section of conversation produced by traditional medicine sellers. The language functions used by traditional medicine sellers were in line with the purpose of marketing, they were to inform, persuade, and remind the costumer about the product that sold.

This research aimed to find out the factors affecting the autonomous learners in learning English and how these factors can influence the autonomous learners in learning English. This research employed qualitative narrative research. Narrative research was deemed to be relevant for this research since it deals with the specific phenomenon of the autonomous learner which analyzed life experience from the participants in learning English. The research subjects were two identified of autonomous learners. The data was taken by conducted interviews. In analyzing the data, the researcher used some procedures; data condensation, data display, and drawing conclusion/verification. The research revealed a finding related to the research question indicating that (1) internal and external factors were the factors affecting autonomous learners in learning English. From internal factors, it was argued that self- motivation (passion and willingness) was the biggest factor effecting autonomous learners eager to learn English. In addition, they also mentioned several external factors such as the family environment, school environment, and teachers as other factors that affected them in learning English (2) from several factors affecting autonomous learners in learning English, the participants also explained how these factors could encourage them in learning English, because of there were self-initiation, self-direction, and self-realization in themselves that stimulate them to become autonomous in learning. From these findings, it can be inferred that teachers or lecturers could play a role to promote students learning autonomy in order to stimulate students’ others positive psychological behavior, English proficiency and academic achievement.

AbstrakPenelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh pentingnya kedisiplinan belajar siswa. Faktor kedisiplinan belajar siswa antara lain: Faktor internal adalah faktor yang ada dalam dirinya sendiri antara lain meliputi kesadaran diri, motivasi belajar, dan tidak mampu menyesuaikan diri dalam belajar. Sedangkan faktor eksternal adalah faktor dari luar yang meliputi faktor keluarga, lingkungan sekolah, teman sebaya dan masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus yang dilakukan dengan cara mendeskripsikan atau memaparkan fakta-fakta atau data-data yang diperoleh dari sumber data. Data-data tersebut bersifat kualitatif karena tidak berupa angka, tetapi berupa kalimat-kalimat atau pernyataan-pernyataan yang berasal dari hasil metode observasi dan wawancara. Data-data tersebut selanjutnya dianalisis atau diuraikan untuk menemukan faktor kedisiplinan belajar siswa siswa. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dari subjek penelitian, menunjukan bahwa faktor kedisiplinan belajar siswa ada dua yaitu faktor intrinsik dan faktor ekstrinsik. Faktor intrinsik yaitu faktor yang berasal dari dirinya sendiri yaitu siswa yang malas, malas untuk belajar, tidak pernah mengerjakan PR atau tugas, malas untuk mencatat dan membaca buku pelajaran,kurangnya kesadaran untuk belajar, belum terbiasa dengan disiplin belajar. Kedua adalah faktor ekstrinsik merupakan faktor yang berasal dari luar individu berupa lingkungan keluarga, orangtua yang tidak pernah memberikan perhatian dan kasih sayang terhadap anak mengakibatkan anak menjadi tidak disiplin belajar, selain itu pendidikan orang tua juga mempengaruhi kedisiplinan belajar siswa, faktor lain adalah dari guru, guru yang galak dan cara mengajar yang membosankan menyebabkan siswa malas belajar, dan faktor terakhir yang mengakibatkan siswa tidak disiplin belajar karena faktor lingkungan seperti teman bergaul di rumah dan lingkungan sekolah. Kata-kata kunci : Kedisiplinan Belajar, Siswa, Studi Kasus AbstractThis research is motivated by the importance of student learning discipline. Factors of student learning discipline include: Internal factors are factors that exist in themselves include self-awareness, motivation to learn, and not being able to adjust to learning. While external factors are external factors which include family, school environment, peers and the community. This research uses a case study approach which is done by describing or describing facts or data obtained from data sources. The data is qualitative because it is not in the form of numbers, but in the form of sentences or statements derived from the results of observation and interview methods. These data are then analyzed or elaborated to find the factors of student learning discipline. Based on data obtained from research subjects, it shows that there are two factors for student learning discipline namely intrinsic factor and extrinsic factor. Intrinsic factor is a factor that originates from itself, namely students who are lazy, lazy to learn, never do homework or assignments, lazy to take notes and read textbooks, lack of awareness to learn, not accustomed to the discipline of learning. Second is the extrinsic factor is a factor that comes from outside the individual in the form of a family environment, parents who never give attention and affection towards children cause children to become undisciplined in learning, in addition to that parental education also affects student learning discipline, other factors are from the teacher, teachers who are fierce and boring teaching methods make students lazy to learn, and the last factor that causes students to be undisciplined in learning because of environmental factors such as friends hanging out at home and school environment. Keywords: Learning Discipline, Students, Case Studies

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana Eksternalitas Kampung Unggulan Kerupuk Surabaya ditinjau dari perspektif Ekonomi Sumber Daya Alam dan Lingkungan Islam. Kampung Unggulan Kerupuk Surabaya merupakan salah satu industri kerupuk yang berada di dalam kota namun masih menggunakan metode tradisional dalam proses produksinya. Beberapa pengrajin Kampung Unggulan Kerupuk Surabaya sudah memiliki merek dan mendapatkan sertifikat halal MUI. Kampung Unggulan Kerupuk Surabaya sering dikunjungi wisatawan baik dari warga Surabaya, luar Surabaya, maupun wisatawan mancanegara untuk belajar cara memproduksi dan memasarkan kerupuk. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan strategi studi kasus. Pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini melalui wawancara mendalam dan wawancara langsung dengan subjek penelitian. Teknik analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan dan hasil observasi langsung dari lokasi penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat eksternalitas positif dari keberadaan Kampung Unggulan Kerupuk Surabaya seperti kesempatan kerja, peningkatan pendapatan, dan pendirian fasilitas. Tidak ada eksternalitas negatif seperti pencemaran lingkungan, dan gangguan kesehatan masyarakat. Pengelolaan lingkungan dilakukan dengan baik sesuai dengan prinsip pengelolaan lingkungan dalam Islam.Kata kunci: eksternalitas, pengelolaan lingkungan, ekonomi sumber daya alam, Kampung Unggulan Kerupuk Surabaya ABSTRACTThis study examines how the externalities of Kampung Unggulan Kerupuk Surabaya are viewed from Islamic Economics of Natural Resources and Environment perspectives. Kampung Unggulan Kerupuk Surabaya is a cracker industry located in the city but still using traditional methods in the production process. Some of the Kampung Unggulan Kerupuk Surabaya craftsmen already have a brand and get MUI halal certificate. Kampung Unggulan Kerupuk Surabaya often gets visits from tourists, both from Surabaya residents, outside Surabaya, and foreign tourists to learn how to produce and market crackers. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method with a strategy of case study. The data collection conducted in this study was by in-depth and direct interviews with research subjects. The analysis technique used in this study was by data reduction, data presentation, and also conclusions and results from direct observation from the research’s location. The results of the study show that there are positive externalities of the existence of Kampung Unggulan Kerupuk Surabaya, such as employment opportunity, increased revenue, and facilities establishment. There are no negative externalities such as environmental pollution, and disruption of society’s health. Environmental management is carried out properly in accordance with the principles of environmental management in Islam.Keywords: externalities, environmental management, natural resource economics, Kampung Unggulan Kerupuk Surabaya

Anemia merupakan permasalahan gizi utama pada wanita. Remaja merupakan cikal bakal wanita prakonsepsi dan ibu hamil yang sangat menentukan kualitas generasi selanjutnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menggambarkan prevalensi anemia pada remaja dan status gizi remaja penderita anemia di Kota Luwuk. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah observasional deskrptif, yang dilakukan pada 187 remaja di kota luwuk. Penelitian ini menggambarkan status anemia berdasarkan pengukuran kadar hemoglobin. Status gizi ditentukan berdasarkan pengukuran antropometri. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari 187 remaja yang diteliti, terdapat 55 remaja (29%) diantaranya mengalami anemia. Status gizi remaja yang mengalami anemia sebagian besar dengan status gizi kurang yaitu 89%, sedangkan 11 % dengan status gizi baik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan permasalahan pada status gizi remaja sehingga membutuhkan perhatian yang lebih masyarakat dan pemerintah. Sebagai saran: kebiasaan mengkonsumsi makanan bergizi dapat lebih dibudayakan dalam lingkungan sekolah. Selain itu, juga perlu diberikan edukasi gizi baik pada siswa sebagai remaja maupun kepada orang tua siswa. Anemia is a major nutritional problem in women. Adolescents are the forerunners of preconception women and pregnant women who determine the quality of the next generation. The purpose of this study was to describe the prevalence of anemia in adolescents and the nutritional status of adolescents with anemia in Luwuk City. This type of research is observational descriptive, conducted on 187 adolescents in the city luwuk. This study describes the status of anemia based on measuring hemoglobin levels. Nutritional status is determined based on anthropometric measurements. We conduct descriptive method to analized the data. The results showed that of 187 adolescents studied, there were 55 adolescents (29%) of whom had anemia. Most of the nutritional status of adolescents with anemia is 89% underweight, while 11% with good nutritional status. The results of this study indicate problems in the nutritional status of adolescents so that they require more attention from the community and government. As a suggestion: the habit of consuming nutritious food can be further cultivated in the school environment. In addition, it is also necessary to provide nutrition education both to students as teenagers and to parents of students.

This undergraduate thesis entitled “Positive Politeness Strategies in James Corden’s Interview on Recode Decode Talk-show” is interesting to be discussed as an object analysis due to the application of positive politeness strategies used in a communication. The study aims to analyze the types of positive politeness strategies used in James Corden’s Interview on Recode Decode Talk-show and to identify the language function of the applications of those positive politeness strategies. The data were taken from the transcript of the conversation in the talk-show. The statements which were used as the data source were the statements of the conversation which were applied the positive politeness strategy. The data that have been collected were classified according to the theory of Brown and Levinson (1978) about politeness strategy to analyze the positive politeness strategies in the conversation of the talk-show’s transcripts. Furthermore, the language functions proposed by Tillit and Bruder (1985) is also used to identify the functions of the choice of those positive politeness strategies. Based on the theory mentioned above, there were seven strategies of positive politeness strategies found in this talk-show, those are: Notice, attend to H (his interest, wants, needs, goods), Exaggerate (interest, approval, sympathy with H), Seek agreement, Avoid disagreement, Joke, Include both S and H in the activity, and Give (or ask for) reasons.

An observation was conducted to the X MIPA students of SMA Negeri 3 Sintang indicated the low learning independence in Chemistry class. This study aimed to investigate the student learning independence and its factors in Chemistry class at SMA Negeri 3 Sintang. This study used the descriptive method of observation case design. The data were collected using direct observation, interview, and documentation. The subjects were 68 students of the X MIPA. The instruments were interview and observation sheets. Before analyzing the data, it was conducted two times observation and interview. The study revealed that the students’ learning independence was significantly increased. It could be seen from their discipline, responsibility, initiation, and motivation. Based on the internal factor for discipline aspect was excellent (90,81%) while the motivation aspect was good (72,07%). The responsibility (44,73%) and initiation (42,81%) aspects were considered satisfactory, however the self-confidence required more improvement (7,2%). In addition, the results of the interview showed that the external factors played a major role in students’ learning independence. The school environment aspect were considered satisfactory (44,60%) while the family environment (66,66%), learning facilities (69,69%), and teacher competence (71,80%) was good category. In conclusion, the students learning independence of the X MIPA student of SMA Negeri 3 Sintang based on the fifth aspect of the internal factors were satisfactory (51,52%), and the external factors were good (63,18%).

Based on the fact that there is no end to the problems of education that occur in our country even though the government has worked hard to change it. The irrelevance between expectations, the process and the results achieved in education. Thus there are certainly other factors, one of which is the willingness or interest of students towards learning. The purpose of this study is 1) To find out how much the students' willingness to learn in improving the intellectual intelligence of students of SD Negeri Pandeglang district. 2) To find out the factors and efforts to improve the intellectual intelligence of students of SD Negeri Pandeglang district. The method used in this research is descriptive method with a qualitative approach. While the data source was obtained through informants as research subjects using data collection techniques in library research and field research (research locations) by observing, documenting, interviewing guidelines for several informants namely students, teachers (SD) in the State of Pandeglang Regency. Then the data is analyzed correctly. The data obtained from the results of the study is that students 'interest in learning to improve students' intellectual intelligence in the area of ​​Pandeglang Regency cannot be categorized well. This can be proven from the findings of researchers that students of the SD Negeri Pandeglang Regency will their interest in learning only reach 50%. From 4 schools based on the results of research data, with a low willingness to learn so that 32.18% of students cannot read and write.
