Introduction: This research derives from our experience of support groups since 2006. In seeking to understand the way in which a co-operative organization works, it is necessary to find out how and by whom it is managed. In order to put this organization into context, this project needed to establish a perspective that addressed the relevant points: society, exclusion, garbage, job insecurity. The research aims to show how support groups in a social intervention project develop a dual role for beneficiaries: 1) as institutional agents who use their respective institutions to direct decisions and actions to make changes in the work place of the beneficiary, 2) to influence the liberation of geographic space in the work of beneficiaries (cultural, educational, ideological, social and psychological). The hypothesis is that those who bring this about are the support groups because the original co-operative perspective sprang from them, and all management processes for more than ten years have taken place through this group. Our thesis seeks to find the evidence and investigate whether there is a real problem. It will be carried out through a systematic analysis of management over the last ten years. Methodology and development: An in-depth analysis will require not only a review of the literature concerning different studies of Cooperlix in Presidente Prudente, SP, but mainly the institutional articulation mechanisms which characterize the geography of the work, with the aim that the study will lead us to a socio-organizational structure that goes beyond the co-operative and its members. Once all the research involving the collection of data from various sources has been completed, we will make use of a research practice involving intensive direct observation (observation and interview), and also extensive direct observation (questionnaire). The research will be exploratory, aiming to identify and systematize current information concerning the scope of work and its influence on the behavior of those involved. Documentary research will be carried out within the different organizations involved with the intention of mapping influence and interaction between them and Cooperlix. Individuals who make up the support groups, selected according to certain criteria, will be interviewed. Interviews will be conducted with the co-operative in order to identify and interpret their perceptions of the changes it has undergone, influenced by the support groups. It will be possible to identify the management model adopted in the last ten years from this information. Analysis will take place at different times as each stage of the research will require individual analysis. Final thoughts: The results of this research will contribute to establishing an understanding of the actions and practices of the support groups.

This study examines the notion of stress management in a recessed Nigerian economy with the implications for bank employees. In the process, it further considers the stiff competition in the banking sector coupled with the current sharp decline in the global price of crude oil with its attendant implications for the performance of the Nigerian economic growth which has a spillover effect on indwelt elements like stress factor facing the banking employee. Based on this foundational philosophy, 300 structured questionnaires were administered of which 218 were found usable and on which an in-depth analysis was conducted via the use of Statistical Package for Social Sciences’ (SPSS) data analysis; whilst Correlation and Regression analyses were applied to test the formulated hypotheses. The finding of the research effort affirms that stress issue in the workplace is of a growing concern particularly in the banking sub-sector. This development portends a detriment to the health and psychic of bank employees – and thus poses a great threat to work place performance. Further findings from the study; reveal amongst others; the potential stress-propelled debacle facing the bank employees in different dimensions. These include work overload, low level of job satisfaction (in spite of measurable remunerations and lack of autonomy–including job insecurity. The study recommends amongst others; that effective management of bank staffers require developing action plans by bank management that would entail monitoring, re-assessing (via feed-back mechanism) the dynamics of the internal workplace and the turbulent external environment. It concludes on the note that, where the optimum of an average bank employee is sought, the work environment should embrace his participation in decision making process at appropriate level of the affected organization. This is largely achievable through his engagement in state of the art training programs amongst other incentives.

The Spanish labour market is notorious for its high unemployment rate and its exceptionally high youth unemployment rate, job insecurity, impermanence and underemployment. This article presents a systematic analysis of the Spanish labour market’s deterioration process, in particular focusing on the youth labour market. It combines historic reviews with statistical analyses of data from official sources, like the Continuous Sample of Working Lives (CSWL), through different econometric models. The procedure consists of three steps: (a) first, a historical estimation to facilitate the systematic selection of the statistics, in this case contracts taken from a large sample of the Spanish workforce over the period 1985–2015; (b) econometric modelling of relevant indicators, in this case the average annual income, daily working hours and average length of contract; and (c) an analysis of the identified trends and conjuncture regarding precarious work and gender inequality.

The high-speed growth in the global population has resulted in a deficit of foods, which has stimulated the development of technologies for planting agricultural products and fattening domestic animals. However, these processes are supplemented in many cases by worsening of the quality of foods and their pollution by foreign substances. To guarantee the proper quality and safety of foodstuffs for health, the International Organization for Standardization developed the standards ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22000:2018. At the same time, businesses fabricating foods, especially meat-based ones, have to observe the norms of the international standard ISO 14001:2015. Finally, because treatments of raw materials and ingredients used in food products contain in many cases substances harmful for health, enterprises must introduce the norms of standard ISO 45001:2018. To simplify management processes, enterprises introduce so-called ‘integrated management systems’. This study proposes one variant of such a system recommended for use in food-producing organizations including those that treat raw meat and produce products based on its use.

Purpose – Large terminologies usually contain a mix of terms that are either generic or domain specific, which makes the use of the terminology itself a difficult task that may limit the positive effects of these systems. The purpose of this paper is to systematically evaluate the degree of domain specificity of the AGROVOC controlled vocabulary terms as a representative of a large terminology in the agricultural domain and discuss the generic/specific boundaries across its hierarchy. Design/methodology/approach – A user-oriented study with domain-experts in conjunction with quantitative and systematic analysis. First an in-depth analysis of AGROVOC was carried out to make a proper selection of terms for the experiment. Then domain-experts were asked to classify the terms according to their domain specificity. An evaluation was conducted to analyse the domain-experts’ results. Finally, the resulting data set was automatically compared with the terms in SUMO, an upper ontology and MILO, a mid-level ontology; to analyse the coincidences. Findings – Results show the existence of a high number of generic terms. The motivation for several of the unclear cases is also depicted. The automatic evaluation showed that there is not a direct way to assess the specificity degree of a term by using SUMO and MILO ontologies, however, it provided additional validation of the results gathered from the domain-experts. Research limitations/implications – The “domain-analysis” concept has long been discussed and it could be addressed from different perspectives. A resume of these perspectives and an explanation of the approach followed in this experiment is included in the background section. Originality/value – The authors propose an approach to identify the domain specificity of terms in large domain-specific terminologies and a criterion to measure the overall domain specificity of a knowledge organisation system, based on domain-experts analysis. The authors also provide a first insight about using automated measures to determine the degree to which a given term can be considered domain specific. The resulting data set from the domain-experts’ evaluation can be reused as a gold standard for further research about these automatic measures.

Background: The purpose of this study is to better understand differences in diabetes self-management, specifically needs, barriers and challenges among men and women living with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).Methods: 35 participants were recruited from a diabetes education center (DEC) in Toronto, Canada. Five focus groups and nine individual interviews were conducted to explore men and women's diabetes self-management experiences. Results: The average age of participants was 57 years and just over half (51.4%) were female. Analyses revealed five themes: disclosure and identity as a person living with diabetes; self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG); diet struggles across varying contexts; utilization of diabetes resources; and social support. Women disclosed their diabetes more readily and integrated management into their daily lives, whereas men were more reluctant to tell friends and family about their diabetes and were less observant of self-management practices in social settings. Men focused on practical aspects of SMBG and experimented with various aspects of management to reduce reliance on medications whereas women focused on affective components of SMBG. Women restricted foods from their diets perceived as prohibited whereas many men moderated their intake of perceived unhealthy foods, except in social situations. Women used socially interactive resources, like education classes and support groups whereas men relied more on self-directed learning but also described wanting more guidance to help navigate the healthcare system. Finally, men and women reported wanting physician support for both affective and practical aspects of self-management.Conclusions: Our findings highlight the differences in needs and challenges of diabetes self-management among men and women, which may inform gender-sensitive diabetes, care, counseling and support. Keywords: Diabetes, Self-management, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Sex, Gender

Abstract Due to the binding regulations, safety management processes in Poland, are carried out equally, regardless of the type of aviation. The article aims to present a proposal for the separation of Commercial Air Transport (CAT) and General Aviation (GA) in these processes to provide a more accurate assessment of the Polish aviation safety state. The key issue leading to further considerations is the comparison of the number of undesired events and their types in GA and CAT. Subsequently, an in-depth analysis of the State Safety Programm is presented, allowing for more detailed conclusions. The analysis presented in the paper indicates that it would be reasonable to separate particular types of aviation in the safety management processes. It was pointed out that the differences between GA and CAT are so significant that treating them together can lead to false and wrong conclusions.

A good example of literature’s power to continuously rewrite geographic space by renewing inherited paradigms could be found in Prudentius’ Peristephanon, which provides a sort of re-mapping of the Western landscape in a martyrial perspective. My paper focuses in particular on the narration of Cassian’s martyrdom, providing a new in-depth analysis of Peristephanon IX. Firstly, the poet claims possession of the martyr’s place, Forum Cornelii, by dismissing its pagan past; then, in the ekphrasis of the fresco depicting the martyr, he enacts a complex itinerary of the gaze and elaborates a complex retractatio of the description of Juno’s temple of Verg. Aen. 1.446-465; finally, the introduction of a second-degree narrator provides an authoritative interpretation of the image, leading to appropriate devotion to the saint. The poem, thus, provides both an interesting example of integrated intermediality, and a reflection on the hermeneutical risks of unmediated viewing in a Christian scopic regime.

BACKGROUND In the last decade, there has been a proliferation of mobile apps claiming to support the needs of people living with depression. However, it is unclear what functionality is actually provided by apps for depression, or for whom they are intended. OBJECTIVE This paper aimed to explore the key features of top-rated apps for depression, including descriptive characteristics, functionality, and ethical concerns, to better inform the design of apps for depression. METHODS We reviewed top-rated iPhone OS (iOS) and Android mobile apps for depression retrieved from app marketplaces in spring 2019. We applied a systematic analysis to review the selected apps, for which data were gathered from the 2 marketplaces and through direct use of the apps. We report an in-depth analysis of app functionality, namely, screening, tracking, and provision of interventions. Of the initially identified 482 apps, 29 apps met the criteria for inclusion in this review. Apps were included if they remained accessible at the moment of evaluation, were offered in mental health–relevant categories, received a review score greater than 4.0 out of 5.0 by more than 100 reviewers, and had depression as a primary target. RESULTS The analysis revealed that a majority of apps specify the evidence base for their intervention (18/29, 62%), whereas a smaller proportion describes receiving clinical input into their design (12/29, 41%). All the selected apps are rated as suitable for children and adolescents on the marketplace, but 83% (24/29) do not provide a privacy policy consistent with their rating. The findings also show that most apps provide multiple functions. The most commonly implemented functions include provision of interventions (24/29, 83%) either as a digitalized therapeutic intervention or as support for mood expression; tracking (19/29, 66%) of moods, thoughts, or behaviors for supporting the intervention; and screening (9/29, 31%) to inform the decision to use the app and its intervention. Some apps include overtly negative content. CONCLUSIONS Currently available top-ranked apps for depression on the major marketplaces provide diverse functionality to benefit users across a range of age groups; however, guidelines and frameworks are still needed to ensure users’ privacy and safety while using them. Suggestions include clearly defining the age of the target population and explicit disclosure of the sharing of users’ sensitive data with third parties. In addition, we found an opportunity for apps to better leverage digital affordances for mitigating harm, for personalizing interventions, and for tracking multimodal content. The study further demonstrated the need to consider potential risks while using depression apps, including the use of nonvalidated screening tools, tracking negative moods or thinking patterns, and exposing users to negative emotional expression content.

The study is devoted to clarifying the problem of existing collisions in local lawmaking, which allowed to substantiate the common understanding of this problem, as well as to identify new theoretical and applied conclusions and positions related to the need to resolve collisions in local lawmaking, their specifics and special characteristics. It is established that the country has adopted and operates a large number of regulations, many of which contradict each other, have internal inconsistencies and inconsistencies. Legal science and practice face the task of in-depth analysis of the causes of municipal legal collisions, finding ways to prevent and resolve them. It is pointed out that the emergence and increasing severity of conflicts in local lawmaking in most cases due to incomplete legal regulation of public relations, violation of the rules of legal technique in the adoption of local acts, insufficiently effective ways to prevent and resolve the latter. In addition, it is established that the method of settling and resolving local conflicts through the prism of legislative establishment of the priority of application of the norm and act is the most clear and effective. In the course of the research the systematic analysis of views on the collisions in law in general is carried out, the basic signs of the conflict in local law-making, its place among the specified categories in the plane are defined; analysis of the process of evolution of the social contradiction into a legal one with the subsequent transformation into a collision and a gap; legal conflict is defined as a subjective-objective phenomenon of legal reality. Among the existing large number of classifications of legal conflicts are local-legal, which are legal contradictions that arise due to subjective and objective reasons and errors in the exercise of powers to resolve the population directly and (or) through local governments, local issues, which is manifested in the adoption of regulations of local governments and their officials. Based on the analysis, the characteristic features of local-legal conflict are determined, which are detailed by the specified provisions on the connection of partial and general, manifestation in various forms and types, depending on the specifics of causes and solutions, local self-government issues of local significance and the emergence of the implementation of powers and the adoption of relevant municipal legal acts of local governments and their officials, with its own specific set of elements of the resolution mechanism.
