Abstract: Teachers are more active in teaching and learning process, while the students only receive the material, question and answer and record so that learning math is very boring for students. To help students to be more active, teachers make various changes or new things in teaching mathematics, one of them by using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach. This research includes true experimental research with Pretest-Postest Control Group Design design. Population in this research is all students of class VII MTsN Olak Kemang City Jambi academic year 2017/2018. Sampling using random sampling technique and samples of research are class VII B (experiment) and VII C (control). This study aims to determine whether there is a significant effect of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach to the ability to understand the mathematical concepts of students on the subject of the Set. Data collection is done by doing pretest and posttest which each consist of 7 problem. From the result of data analysis done on the difference of pretest-posttest average in two samples obtained titung for the comprehension ability of mathematical concept 4.93 and ttabel is 1.66. At the real level α is 0.05. From the calculation results show that t count is greater than ttable, then H0 is rejected and HI accepted. Based on the final result, it can be concluded that there is a difference of students' understanding of mathematical concept between the experimental class and the control class. Thus, it was concluded that the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach significantly influenced the students' understanding of mathematical concepts.Keywords: Influence, Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL), and Ability to Understand Mathematical Concepts.

The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in the improvement of students' mathematical problem-solving abilities with the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach in the material of the two-variable linear equation system in class X SMA Negeri 2 Pematangsiantar. This study used an experimental method with the aim of being in accordance with the previous statement to determine the difference in students' mathematical problem-solving abilities with a contextual approach and an expository approach, with a randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The average increase in problem-solving abilities in the control class was 0.1688 while the increase in problem-solving abilities in the experimental class was 0.0085. By using the t-test (SPSS), with a value of Fcount = 10.907 and a significant level of 0.05, a significant probability is obtained 0.002 <0.05, it can be concluded that there is a difference in normalized gain or an increase in problem-solving ability with conventional and contextual approaches. Based on the average gain of the control and experimental classes, the increase in the control class using the conventional approach is higher than the experimental class with the contextual approach. The difference in increasing problem-solving abilities in conventional classrooms is possible due to differences in students' entry-level abilities, which can be seen in the average pretest of each class.

The objective of the research is to describe whether there is a difference of students' understanding of mathematical concepts using cooperative learning model of TAI type and Problem Based Learning (PBL) and show the cause of the difference. This study included experimental research with randomized control group design pretest posttest design. The result of the research shows that (1) the understanding of students 'mathematical concepts with cooperative learning model of TAI type is not significantly different from the understanding of students' mathematics concept with PBL learning model; (2) the understanding of students 'mathematical concept with cooperative learning model of TAI type is not significantly different from the students' with conventional learning model, (3) understanding of student math concept with PBL learning model is significantly different with understanding of student math concept with conventional learning model. So that there is effect of cooperative learning model of TAI type and problem based learning (PBL) to the students' math concept.

This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of self-assessment toward the understanding of the mathematical concept of high school students. The objects of this study were all non-superior students of grade VIII in SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja school year of 2015/2016. This research used random sampling technique. The research design used was post-test only control group design. Data understanding of mathematical concepts of students was obtained through the test description with the reliability of 0.71. The data obtained were analyzed using the t-test. The results of the analysis showed that self-assessment effectively improved students' understanding of mathematical concepts.

This study aims to determine the effect of the Implementation of Guided Inquiry Learning Model Against the Mathematical Understanding Ability of Class VIII Students of MTs Al Islam Petalabumi. The type of this research is Quasi Experiment research. The research design used was Randomized Subjects Posttest Only Control Group Design. The sampling technique is a purposive sampling technique. The instrument in this study was a test of students' mathematical concept comprehension ability. Data analysis techniques in this test use the Independent Samples T-Test. Based on the results of research testing the hypothesis of the two sample classes obtained P-value is smaller than a, which is 0,000 <0.05. This means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus the ability to understand students 'mathematical concepts with the application of guided inquiry learning models is better than the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts with conventional learning models.

Abstract: The confidence of students in learning can be seen from the students 'daily learning activities, namely fear for suggested, ignore his social life, often looked glum in learning, afraid to form your own opinion, and many students are not responsible for the given task master, so many students who cheated. One of the efforts made to improve the confidence of students in learning is by information services. This research aims to test the effectiveness of information services by using contextual teaching and learning approaches to increase the confidence of students in learning. This research using quantitative methods. This type of research is Quasi Experiment with Pretest-Posttest design Control Group Design. The population of this research was the students at SMP Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP Padang and The sample was chosen by using Purposive Sampling Technique. Research instrument used with Likert scale model, then analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and Kolmogorov-Smirnov Two Sample Independent with the help of SPSS version 17.00. In general the findings of this research it can be concluded that the information services with the contextual approach to teaching and learning can improve the confidence of students in learning.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan yang signifikan kemampuan pengukuran, antara anak yang diberikan pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran contextual teaching and learning (CTL) dengan anak yang diberikan pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran ekspositori pada anak kelompok B TK Gugus I Kecamatan Susut, Kabupaten Bangli Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain non equivalen control group design. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh anak kelompok B TK Gugus I Kecamatan Susut, Kabupaten Bangli yang berjumlah 195 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu dengan teknik cluster sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah anak kelompok B TK Harapan Bunda yang berjumlah 16 anak sebagai kelompok eksperimen serta anak kelompok B1 TK Citra Widya yang berjumlah 17 anak sebagai kelompok kontrol. Data hasil pengukuran anak dikumpulkan dengan teknik observasi menggunakan lembar observasi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis statistik inferensial dengan uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh hasil uji-t yaitu thitung = 6,908 dan ttabel dengan taraf signifikan 5% pada derajat kebebasan (db) 31 = 2,042. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan bahwa thitung>ttabel, maka H0 ditolak dan HA diterima. Dengan demikian dapat diketahui bahwa, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan kemampuan pengukuran antara anak yang diberikan pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran contextual teaching and learning dengan anak yang diberikan model pembelajaran ekspositori.Kata Kunci : contextual teaching and learning, kemampuan pengukuran The aim of this study is to know the significant difference of measurement capability, between children who are given learning using contextual teaching and learning (CTL) model with children who are given learning using expository learning model in children group B of TK Gugus I Kecamatan Susut, District of Bangli Academic Year 2017 / 2018. The data of children's measurement is collected by observation technique using observation sheet. The data obtained is analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis with T-test. Based on the result of data analysis, the result of t-test is thitung 6,908 and ttabel with significant level 5% at degrees of freedom (db) 31 = 2,042. The result of t-test shows that thitung> ttabel, then H0 is rejected and HA is accepted. This study aimed to determine the effect of the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model with the outdoor approach towards students’ ability in mathematical representation. It was quasi-experimental research consisting of two experimental classes and one control group. It used a pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study was the students of SUPM Tegal. Sampling was conducted using cluster random consisting of three classes. The first experimental group was carried out by implementing the learning model of CTL with the outdoor approach. The second experimental group was carried out by implementing a learning model of CTL, while the control group was conducted by implementing a conventional learning model. The research instrument was a 7-point mathematical representation test in the form of an essay. The results of the research were 1) the learning model of CTL with an outdoor approach affected the improvement and achievement of the students’ ability in mathematical representation and was higher than CTL and a conventional learning; 2) the improvement of the students’ ability of representation in the groups of CTL with outdoor approach, CTL, and conventional learning respectively was in high, medium, and low category.

The research consists of two variables, namely the independent variable (Instagram) and the dependent variable (writing ability). The aim of this research is to find out whether or not the use of Instagram is effective in teaching writing Descriptive Text. The population of this research was all grade ten students at SMAN 3 Bekasi, consisted of 370 students divided into 10 classes. The sample of this research was 74 students divided into 2 classes, taken from the population using Cluster Random Sampling Technique. This research used the Quasi Experimental Method, and the design was randomized post-test only control group design. To collect the data, the writers used instrument. The instrument consists of 10 question items in an essay. They were developed from the indicators of writing as specified in BluePrint. To get a good instrument, it was tried out to other classes outside the sample classes, and the instrument was analyzed in the item of its validity, reliability, difficulty index, and discrimination power by using Ms. Excel 2010. After it has been analyzed, it gained 5 items which were used to collect data for the research. The writers used a T-test to find out whether the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted or rejected. The result of this research presented that there was a significant difference of Instagram on students’ writing ability at SMAN 3 Bekasi. The significance (Sig.) score of T-test 0.000 is lower than (<) 0.05. Therefore, the research had a significant difference in Instagram on Grade Ten Students’ Writing Ability at SMAN 3 Bekasi. In addition, Instagram helped the students to develop their writing, and also, it can ease the teaching and learning process.

Based on the research to understand of influence the implementation and increased use of learning model contextual teaching and learning of the understanding ability a mathematical conception of elementary school grade 3.This research triggered by the importance of the understanding ability a mathematical conception for learners of elementary school grade 3 .The study is done in SDN 2 Sukajaya for year academic 2017 / 2018. The method used in this research is a method of quantitative with design of quasi experiment design. The population of the research is all students from SDN 2 Sukajaya grade 3. Sampling technique used namely sampling technique saturated sampling technique this is all population used as samples for research. Sampling techniques used the techniques of sampling saturated, this sampling techniques used in the sample of the population. The data technique on this research using objective test. The result of this research is indicates there an effect from the ability of understanding between class a mathematical conception of the experiments with contextual kind of classroom teaching and learning and control group with direct instruction method. The results of the t-test at 5% significance level obtained significance Count between 0002 ≤ 0.05. As for the improved results obtained from U at 5% significance level obtained significance Count between 0.006 ≤ 0.05, so it can be revealed learning by Implementation of Contextual learning method of Teaching and Learning effect in improving the ability of understanding of mathematical concepts

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model Contextual Teaching and Learning terhadap Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis berdasarkan Kemandirian Belajar Siswa SMP/MTs. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Factorial Experiment dengan menggunakan Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII MTs GUPPI Bandar Sungai. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Cluster Random Sampling, dengan sampel terpilih memiliki kesamaan rata-rata sebelum perlakuan.Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah tes, angket, observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan anova dua arah. Untuk hipotesis 1 diperoleh F_A=5,036>F_tabel=4,01 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis antara siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan penerapan model Contextual Teaching and Learning dengan siswa yang belajar menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional, dengan skor rata-rata yang lebih baik adalah kelas eksperimen daripada kontrol yaitu berturut-turut adalah 41,94 dan 38,92. Untuk hipotesis 2 diperoleh F_B=4,392>F_tabel=3,16 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis antara siswa yang memiliki kemandirian belajar tinggi, sedang dan rendah, dengan skor rata-rata untuk siswa yang memiliki kemandirian belajar tinggi 43,69, sedang 38,63  dan rendah 42,83. Dan untuk hipotesis 3 diperoleh F_(A×B)=0,302≤F_tabel=3,16 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh interaksi antara model pembelajaran dengan kemandirian belajar terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Penelitian ini dapat dimanfaatkan guru untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di kelas terutama dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa.
