This research describes the context of learning or lectures at academic achievement colleges known as achievement indexes (IP) and cumulative grade index (GPA). This is confirmed in the process standard operation (SOP) of Lectures and Curriculum with the number Un-11.JSOPP-04-02.R0 published by the North Sumatra State Islamic University Medan that Academic achievement is the result achieved by student guidance in study activities at the University North Sumatra State Islamic Medan as proof of the success that has been achieved after conducting learning or lecture activities. The results achieved by these students can take the form of subject values, Grade Point Average (GPA), championship rank, graduation grade, and completing studies on time. In the perspective of the study of academic achievement theory known as learning outcomes. The discussion of learning outcomes cannot be separated from the study of the concept of learning itself, because learning outcomes are obtained after going through the learning process carried out by students. This research carried out using a mixed method approach, which is a combination of qualitative and quantitative research. Qualitative research used is naturalistic, because it is based on the consideration that what is sought in this research is data that will describe and paint complex social reality in such a way that it becomes a concrete social phenomenon. The research situation chosen in this study was the academic achievement of students from high school and aliyah madrasa in the English Education Study Program at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at North Sumatra State Islamic University Medan, covering a broad context, involving many actors, time different places, different processes and processes

The purpose of this study was to look at the link between English as a foreign language (EFL) student teachers’ study habits and academic achievement. A questionnaire of study habits inventory (SHI) and students’ cumulative GPAs were used as research instruments to EFL student teachers in one English education study program at an Indonesian state Islamic university. Data were analyzed through using the descriptive statistics and Pearson Product Moment Correlation. In general, it was found that EFL student teachers’ habits significantly correlated with their academic achievement. Also, the results of the linear regression analysis showed that EFL student teachers’ study habits led to their academic achievement. The findings of this study indicated that the correlation between study habits and academic achievement existed. In the context of learning English in a non-English speaking country like Indonesia, this study provides information for researchers and teacher educators to understand how the link between study habits and academic achievement is significantly correlated each other.

This study aims to determine the application of the STAD model of cooperative learning in learning the songs of the North Sumatra region in semester 2 students in the music education program at Universitas Negeri Medan. The problems to be discussed are: How is the application of the STAD model of cooperative learning in analyzing the main melodies of North Sumatra regional songs and how are the learning outcomes using the STAD model of cooperative learning methods. This study uses two approaches namely quantitative and qualitative methods with data collection techniques in the form of literature studies, observations, interviews, tests in the form of pre-test and post-test as well as analyzing learning outcomes. After the classroom action research process, the results were obtained that: in the application of the STAD model of cooperative learning in the material analysis of the main melodic form of North Sumatra regional songs in the second semester students of music education study program, it showed positive results and showed an increase in students' abilities. This is done for several stages, namely through cycle I and cycle II. In the trial test, the pre-test grade averages 52.3. The average grade that has been obtained is very low. Then conducted an experiment with a cycle I (post- test I) then the average grade increased by 66.33 but was declared incomplete. Furthermore, it is done by cycle II (post-test II), then the total number of class grades is increasing, amounting to 79.5 so that the value is declared complete and the cycle is not resumed. So, it can be concluded that the application of the STAD model of cooperative learning in learning the songs of the North Sumatra region in semester 2 students in music education study program has increased learning outcomes. This shows that STAD type cooperative learning can be used as an alternative in improving student learning outcomes in vocal learning of North Sumatra regional songs.

Universities or institutions that operate in North Sumatra are very many, therefore, of course, competition in accepting new students is very tight, universities or institutions do certain ways or steps to be able to compete with other campuses in gaining interest from community or high school students who will continue their studies to a higher level. STMIK BUDI DARMA Medan (College of Information and Computer Management), is the first computer high school in Medan which was established on March 1, 1996 and received approval from the government through the Minister of Education and Culture, on July 23, 1996 with operating license number 48 / D / O / 1996, in promoting the campus, the team usually formed a promotion team to various regions in the North Sumatra Region to provide information to the community. Students who have learned in this campus are quite a lot who come from various regions in North Sumatra, from this point the need to process data from students who are active in college to be processed using data mining to achieve a target, one method that can be used in data mining, namely the ¬K-Modes clustering (grouping) algorithm. This method is a grouping of student data that will be a help to campus students in promoting, using the K-Modes algorithm is expected to help and become a reference for marketing in determining the marketing strategy STMIK Budi Darma MedanKeywords: STMIK Budi Darma, Marketing Strategy, K-Modes Algorithm.

The aim of this study is to examine whether reading habits have any effects on the academic achievement of the biology course of high school students in Turkey. In the research, the relational screening model was preferred from the quantitative research models and the phenomenological approach was preferred from the qualitative research models, so the mixed method was used. The study group consists of 266 students studying in the final year of various high schools and who took biology courses before in the province of Kars in Turkey. Data were collected by the questionnaire form prepared by the researchers. In the questionnaire, the participants were asked 12 questions in total; 4 questions to determine the variables of the type of school, education fields, gender, school report marks, 5 close-ended questions to be thought to be able to determine their reading habits, 2 open-ended questions and 1 metaphor question. Frequency and percentage values were calculated for descriptive analysis of the answers given to the questionnaire items. Chi-square analysis was used to examine the relationship between demographic characteristics and the reading habits of the students, and the content analysis technique was used to analyze metaphors.

Article visualizations:

Positive perceptions of online course communication and collaboration have been associated with better academic outcomes, while self-regulatory learning behaviors have also been linked to academic achievement and other positive learning outcomes. In the current study, we examined whether self-regulatory learning behaviors may be considered as mediating the relationship between student perceptions of online course communication and collaboration with academic achievement as measured by grade point average (GPA). Results indicate that online self-regulatory learning behaviors, though not strongly associated with academic achievement in and of themselves, do mediate the positive relationship between student perceptions of online course communication and collaboration with academic achievement.

The present study tried to examine the relationship between academic achievement and emotional intelligence, blocking the influence of academic motivation on the relationship in secondary school students. Sample for the study includes 49 students (25 girls and 24 boys) from VIIIth and IXth classes of a secondary school in Sriram Nagar, Hyderabad, Telangana, India. The data for measuring Emotional intelligence is collected by using the Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire – Adolescent Short Form (TEIQue-ASF), prepared by Petrides, K. V. & Furnham, A. (2006) for adolescents. The data for measuring academic motivation is collected using Academic Motivation Scale, High School Version (AMS-HS 28) for high school students prepared by Vallerand and et.al (1992). Academic achievement of the students is measured by collecting the students' grade point average in a summative assessment. For data analysis, Pearson's Product Moment and Partial Correlations are used. The significance of the test is calculated by using t-test formula for partial correlation for the level of significance α at 0.05. The findings of the study reveal that the influences of academic motivation on the relationship between academic achievement and emotional intelligence in secondary school students, cannot be ignored.

The purpose of the present investigation was to examine the relationships between scores on the learning processes assessed by the Inventory of Learning Processes and academic achievement assessed by high school average (HSA) and grade point average (GPA) for 124 undergraduate college students. Multivariate analysis of variance indicated that students with high HSAs tended to score higher on Deep Processing and Fact Retention scales than students with low HSAs. Students with high GPAs appeared to score higher on both Deep Processing and Elaborative Processing scales than students with low GPAs. Subsequent path analysis suggested that both Deep Processing and Elaborative Processing scales have direct associations with GPA.
