scholarly journals A Textual Interpretation of Mandailing Oral Tradition: A Cultural Maintenance Model

Language has the pivot on which the culture grow or turn to extinct. Language is as primary means of cultural events transmission. A digitalised adage as one of efforts to revitalise or maintain the culture will not be received without understanding the meanings of the oral tradition texts as their implicitness. This research tries to fill the space left by other researchers to make young generation of Mandailing understand the meanings of the oral tradition texts. The oral tradition tells a great deal of local genuine. By doing so, it is expected the young generation can pick out the beneficial messages from the oral tradition texts, then, to guide them in the action, behaviour, and thinking. Therefore, the oral traditonal needs to maintain or to reserve. With respect to the nature, the out put of this research is to design a maintenance model of Mandailing oral tradition. The subject of the research is the oral tradition of Mandailing analisyed through cognitive semantics, and CDA as theoretical tools for textual interpretation. The qualitative and quantitative data of the research show  that the oral traditon of Mandailing; mangandung and marturi include in the category of extinct, while mangambat, mangalehenmangan, manjair, maralok-alok, mambue, marturas, maronang-onang, marsilogo, marungut-ungut, and marpege-pege are in the category of endangered traditon. The cultural activities of the oral traditon do not transmit towards the young generation of Mandailing (age. 17- 40) taken from 100 respondent. Theydid not understand the meaning of the oral traditon texts (87%). The other factor is very few young generation  (10%) involve in the cultural traditon of the oral tradition.

The main problem in the management of the floodplain of Lake Tempe is the weak involvement of affected communities in disaster management. The purpose of this research is to comprehensively analyze and map stakeholders in managing floodplain. The penta helix concept is used in stakeholder mapping. This research applied mixed methods, qualitative and quantitative. Data collection was done through in-depth interviews with various parties who understand the problem of research and direct observation "pre", "whilst", and "post" a disaster occured. Affected communities are found to be an important part of the disaster management stage. Affected communities, who have been the object of disaster, should be the subject of disaster management. The recommendation for the results of this research is that the concept of five stakeholders in penta helix was ​​not sufficient in disaster management. Affected communities deserve to be placed as one of the stakeholders, in addition to the government, business world, universities, NGOs, mass media. <p><strong>ABSTRAK</strong></p><p><br /> Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan <em>nature-based learning</em> dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mengklasifikasi pada anak usia 4-5 tahun. Penelitian ini dilakukan di TK Angkasa Lanud Adi Soemarmo Colomadu. Jenis penelitian ini  adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Prosedur penelitian ini terdiri dari :  perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, tes dan dokumentasi.  Subjek penelitian ini adalah anak kelompok A berjumlah 20 anak. Uji validitas data menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teknik.  Teknik analisis data kuantitatif menggunakan berupa teknik analisis data komparatif untuk membandingkan presentase dari hasil tindakan tiap siklus serta analisis kualitatif interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan melalui penerapan <em>nature-based learning</em> mampu meningkatkan kemampuan mengklasifikasi pada anak usia 4-5 tahun. Peningkatan dapat dilihat melalui meningkatnya kemampuan mengklasifikasi anak yaitu mengklasifikasi warna, mengklasifikasi ukuran dan mengklasifikasi benda berpasangan 2 variasi.                                                                      <br /> <strong>Kata kunci</strong> : Kemampuan mengklasifikasi, <em>nature-based learning</em>, anak usia 4-5 tahun</p><p class="Default"> </p><p class="Default"><strong>ABSTRACT</strong></p><p class="Default"><strong> </strong></p><p>This research aims to know the nature-based learning application to increase the classification ability of children age 4-5 years old. This research was conducted at Tk Angkasa Lanud Adi soemarmo Colomadu. The type of this research is classroom action research with quantitative and qualitative approach. The procedure of this research divided into : planning, action, observation and  reflection. The technique of collecting data are observation,  interview,  test and documentation. The subject of this research are group of children that 20 child. The validity test of data are source triangulation and technique triangulation. The quantitative data are analyzed by comparative data analyze technique,  to compare the percentage of action result each cycle,  and analyzed by interactive qualitative. The result of the research show that nature based learning application capable to increase the classification ability of children age 4-5 teara old. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of this research is tenth grade of MA Ma‘arif Roudlotut Tholibin  Metro academic year 2018/2019 especially at class X Sains. It is consists of twenty three students. The data collecting techniques are test, observation, and questionnaire. The analysis of the data by using qualitative and quantitative data. The result showed that the students’ score in preliminary study, there was no one who passed the passing grade. Then, in the first cycle it is found that there were 12(52%) students who passed and the rest is 11(47%) students could not pass the passing grade. In cycle 2 there were an increase from cycle 1, that was 20(86%) students reached the passing grade and only 3(13%) who failed to accomplish the passing grade. The researcher concluded that TTW Strategy can improve students‘ writing ability in descriptive text. This showed of students‘ activities by observation, students‘ response by questionnaire, and students‘ score by test. The researcher found some dates that students interested, any progress when learned writing descriptive text by using Think-Talk-Write as strategy and the students felt better and improved for their writing ability in descriptive text. From observation students‘ active in the class. In cycle 2, 20(86%) students reached the passing grade and only 3(13%) who failed to accomplish the passing grade It indicated that think-talk-write strategy has considerable influence toward students’ writing ability in descriptive text and success Key words: Think-Talk-Write Strategy, Writing, Descriptive text

This study was conducted to discover students’ achievement in narrative text through snowball throwing model. The design of this study was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of this study was the students of Grade VIII, 2013/2014 school year of SMP Swasta Taman Harapan Medan. The number of students was 39 students. The research was conducted in to two cycles and each cycle consisted of three meeting which consisted of four stages, namely: planning, action, observation, and reflection. To collect the data the instruments that used were qualitative and quantitative data. The qualitative data were collected by using diary notes, observation sheet, and questionnaire sheet. The quantitative data were collected by giving speaking test. Based on the data, the students’ score in speaking test got improvement in every cycle. In Test I, the mean of the students’ score was 64.44 while in Test II, the mean of the students’ score was 68.92 and in Test III, the mean of students’ score was 74.15. Based on the result of quantitative data, it was found that there was improvement on students’ speaking achievement in narrative text. This study was aimed to improve student’s ability in writing short funcional text congratulation and complimenting using picture sequences at X MA Nurulhidayah Batujajar in the academic year of 2018/2019 as the subject of the study consists 32 students. This study was conducted for two months.The CAR was done based on Kurt Lewins’ design. The writer did two cycles which each cycle consists with planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. For data were gathered through qualitative and quantitative. The qualitative data were gained by analyzing the interview and observation result, while quantitative data were obtained from the students’ writing score of pretest and posttest.The finding of this study showed that there was improvement on the student’s ability in writing short funcional text congratulation and complimenting using picture sequences. It can be seen from the mean score of pretest was 56.75. Then, the mean score of posttest cycle 1 was 66.37 and the mean score of posttest cycle 2 was 72.62. so the criteria of success was achieved. from the result of questionnaire, it showed that there was improvement of positive responses in the teaching-learning process of writing short funcional textcongratulation and complimenting. Related to the result of observation and interview, it can be concluded that the students’ ability in writing short funcional texcongratulation and complimenting using picture sequences improved and the students’ were motivated in the teaching-learning process.

Purpose: The study aimed at establishing how; triangle approach, Pareto’s approach, ‘improve or else’ method and competency staircase method influence the performance of manufacturing firms in Kenya.Methodology: The study employed a descriptive research design, the study prefers this method because it allows an in-depth study of the subject. The 2017 KAM directory has listing of members (firms) by sectors which contains a register of 12 sectors of those in manufacturing firms spread all over the country. The population of the large sized registered members as per the directory is 499.This study used the large sized firms only. This study used Cochran’s formula to sample 165 large manufacturing firms from the total population, heads of procurement were the respondents. Semi-structured questionnaires were administered to collect qualitative and quantitative data. Secondary data was collected from firm’s reports and websites.Results: The findings of the study indicated that triangle approach, Pareto’s approach, improve or else method and competency staircase method have a positive relationship with performance of manufacturing firms in Kenya.Conclusion: Based on the study findings, the study concludes that performance of manufacturing firms can be improved by triangle approach, Pareto’s approach, improve or else method and competency staircase method.Policy recommendation: The study recommended that manufacturing firms should embrace supply base rationalization so as to improve performance and further researches should to be carried out in other institutions to find out if the same results can be obtained.

As pousadas são meios de hospedagem de pequeno porte, com um atendimento mais personalizado, e muitas vezes realizado diretamente pelos seus proprietários. Porém, independentemente do tamanho e da capacidade de um meio de hospedagem, ele pode investir em uma oferta de lazer, da mais simples, com algumas atividades, até a mais completa, com estrutura de equipamentos e serviços que buscam atender as expectativas de lazer dos hóspedes, contribuindo com isso para uma valoração de mercado. Esta pesquisa é um estudo de caso, com dados coletados em pesquisa bibliográfica, em artigos publicados sobre o tema, e entrevistas estruturadas, que através de dois métodos, quali-quantitativos, de coleta e análise de dados, teve como objetivo analisar a oferta de lazer das pousadas da Rota do Lambari, em Porto União, SC, os serviços e os equipamentos que estão sendo oferecidos aos hóspedes. Como resultado se observou uma oferta de lazer grande e variada na maioria delas, e uma oferta não focada somente no pescador, mas que atende a toda a família e outros hóspedes que não exercem a pesca. O lazer em pousadas de pesca: um estudo de caso na Rota do Lambari, Porto União (SC) ABSTRACT The lodges are small lodging facilities, with a more personalized service, and often performed directly by its owners. However, regardless of the size and capacity of a host resource, it can invest in a range of leisure, the simplest, with some activities to the fullest, with equipment structure and services that aim to meet the leisure expectations guests, a contributing factor to a market valuation. This research is a case study, with data collected in literature, in articles published on the subject, and structured interviews, which through two methods, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, aimed to analyze the supply of leisure, hotels and Rota do Lambari, in the city of Porto União, SC, services and equipment that are being offered to guests. As a result it was observed offered a large and varied leisure in most of them, and not focused only offer the fisherman, but that caters to the whole family and other guests not engaged in fishing. Abstrak: Penelitian pengembangan ini mempunyai tujuan untuk menghasilkan produk, menganalisis kelayakan serta respon peserta didik terhadap media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis lectora inspire pada materi laporan harga pokok di SMK Negeri 2 Tuban. Jenis penelitian ini ialah penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE yang dimodifikasi oleh Branch. Penelitian ini menggunakan data kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan instrumen pengumpulan data berupa angket terbuka dan angket tertutup. Teknis analisis data yang digunakan berupa analisis deskriptif yang berkaitan dengan aspek efektivitas melalui angket. Media pembelajaran interaktif ini divalidasi oleh dua ahli materi dan satu ahli media, serta diiujicobakan kepada 20 peserta didik kelas XII Akuntansi SMK Negeri 2 Tuban. Hasil akhir validasi ahli materi sejumlah 89,13% dengan kategori “sangat layak”, validasi ahli media sejumlah 84,89% dengan kategori “sangat layak”, serta mendapat skor dari respon peserta didik sejumlah 94,22% dengan kategori “sangat memahami”. Sehingga dapat dinyatakan jika media pembelajaran ini sangat layak dipergunakan pada proses pembelajaran.Kata Kunci: media pembelajaran interaktif, lectora inspire, laporan harga pokok Abstract: This development research has the purpose to produce products, analyze the feasibility and response of students to interactive learning media based on Lectora inspire on the subject matter cost price report at SMK Negeri 2 Tuban. This type of research is development research using the ADDIE development model modified by Branch. This study uses qualitative and quantitative data with data collection instruments in the form of open questionnaires and closed questionnaires. Technical analysis of the data used in the form of descriptive analysis related to the aspect of effectiveness through the questionnaire. This interactive learning media was validated by two material experts and one media expert, and was trialled to 20 students of class XII Accounting of SMK Negeri 2 Tuban. The final result of material expert validation was 89,13% with the category "very worthy", the validation of media experts was 84.89% with the category "very worthy", and received a score of 94.22% in the responses of students in the "very understanding" category. So, it can be stated if the interactive learning media is very decent when used in the learning process.Keywords: interactive learning media, lectora inspire, cost price report

This research aims to: (1) describe and explain the process of speaking ability by picture series media of the students in B1 group at Bustanul Athfal Aisyiyah Keniten Ponorogo in academic year 2017-2018, (2) describe and explain the result of speaking ability by picture series media of the students in B1 group at Bustanul Athfal Aisyiyah Keniten Ponorogo in academic year 2017-2018. The picture series media chosen because it can to train of language skill and expression skill the child (speaking and telling story). The type of this research was classroom action research with Kemmis and Mc Taggart model. The subject of this research was the students of B1 group at Bustanul Athfal Aisyiyah Keniten Ponorogo consisting of 20 students. The data technique were collected by using observation, documentation and interview. Data analysis of this research used the qualitative data and quantitative data. The success indicator in this action research it said success when percentage of speaking ability of the students were 80%. Based on the result of the research show the speaking ability by the picture series able to improve the speaking ability of the students in B1 group at Bustanul Athfal Aisyiyah Keniten Ponorogo in academic year 2017-2018. It showed by the mean percentage of speaking ability by the picture series in pra cycle that have a good criteria that is 15%. In the first cycles percentage of speaking ability by the picture series that have a good criteria that is 30%. In the second cycle percentage of speaking ability by the picture series that have a good criteria increase to 85%. It shows the classroom action research it says success, because the percentage of speaking ability by the picture series of the students get success indicator that is 80%.

This research aims at developing Peer-Asissted Learning Program (PALP) Modul for PBI UAD Students at Second Semester. Since the purpose of the research is developing an instructional module, this research belongs to research and development. There were some steps conducted in this research which were conducting needs analysis, formulating the instructional design, arranging the modul, validating the modul, revising the modul, applying the modul, and evaluating the use of the modul. Then, the instruments used in this research were interview guideline and questionnaires. The interview guidelines were used in conducting needs analysis while the questionnaires were used in validating and evaluating the modul. Next, there were two types of data gained from this research, qualitative and quantitative data. The qualitative data were analyzed descriptively while quantitative data were analyzed through Likert scale and the use criteria percentage. The subject of the study were 12 of board PALP, 30 PALP mentors, and 50 mentees. The module entitled PALP Module for Semester 2 students which focuses on speaking skill. It contains 7 chapters, each chapters consists of the teaching order and scoring rubric. Moreover, the module was developed and revised based on the data gained during the research. The result from the expert judgment related to the face aspect is 84% while the result related to the development aspect is 80%. Then, the result of the evaluation from the board is 84%, from the mentors is 86%, and from the mentee is 88%. So, it can be concluded that the modul is feasible to apply.
