Abstrack:To produce a 3D animated film requires a long process flow so that the processing time of manufacture is also prolonged. This is a constraint in the development of the local animation film in Indonesia for a long time will lead to high production costs making it difficult to compete commercially with animated films from abroad who have abundant funds and the support of various parties in the country. Therefore, efforts to improve the competitiveness of local animated film and one of these efforts is by analyzing the stages of the manufacturing process and apply it to the process of making the actual 3D animated film.In general there are three stages of the filmmaking process, namely the 3D animation pre-production, production and post-production. Although this time the animation industry in Indonesia has not been detailed separates each of these stages, but still be important for designing detail the activities of these stages, in order to see the strengths and weaknesses of each process that existed at that stage. Therefore, this study was conducted with the hope to provide recommendations to improve the local animation industry. Keywords: 3D Animation, Animation Film Pre-Production Stage, Princess Peacock Orange  Abstak: Untuk menghasilkan sebuah film animasi 3D membutuhkan alur proses yang panjang sehingga waktu pembuatannya juga berlangsung lama. Ini yang menjadi kendala dalam perkembangan film animasi lokal di Indonesia karena waktu yang yang panjang akan mengakibatkan tingginya cost production sehingga sulit untuk bersaing secara komersial dengan film animasi dari luar negeri yang memiliki dana berlimpah dan dukungan dari berbagai pihak di negaranya. Untuk itu diperlukan upaya untuk meningkatkan daya saing film animasi lokal dan salah satu upaya tersebut adalah dengan menganalisa tahapan-tahapan proses pembuatan dan menerapkannya pada proses pembuatan film animasi 3D yang sebenarnya.Secara umum ada 3 tahapan proses pembuatan film   animasi 3D yaitu  pra produksi, produksi dan paska produksi. Meskipun saat ini industri animasi di Indonesia belum secara detail memisahkan setiap tahapan tersebut, namun tetap menjadi penting untuk merancang detail aktifitas dari tahapan tersebut, dengan tujuan untuk melihat kekuatan dan kelemahan dari setiap proses yang ada pada tahapan tersebut. Kata Kunci: Animasi 3D, Tahap Pra Produksi Film Animasi, Putri Merak Jingga

The traditional design method of 3D animation modelings, by which can obtain attractive and precise 3D animation modelings, is to use three-dimensional modeling software such as Maya or 3D Max to draw directly. However, this method is faced with many problems, for instance, the lack of creativity, long design circle, high production costs, etc. For the problem of the lack of creativity, the reason is that animation designers are often subject to the limitation of the existing modelings and design concepts in the design process, therefore, they can not design creative modelings which are attractive and unforgettable enough. [For the problem of long design circle and high production costs, the reason is that although the 3D animation software are powerful, to skillfully master them not only requires users to have knowledge of computer technology and aesthetics at the same time, but also need a long learning process of modeling. Moreover, it takes the designers a lot of time and energy to design, draw and complete each modeling, and this will undoubtedly extend the design circle and increase the costs to some extent. Therefore, how to quickly and automatically generate creative 3D animation modelings has become a research focus of the present computer-aided creative design.

Pengaruh penerapan pipeline dalam sebuah industry animasi 3d sangat mempengaruhi produksi animasi agar maksimal. Dalam masing-masing divisi juga terdapat pipeline yang digunakan contohnya pipeline pada divisi cloth simulation. Pada MSV Studio pipeline simulasi yang diterapkan di divisi cloth simulation masih terdapat beberapa kendala pada saat produksi. Cara kerja pipeline yang sudah ada yaitu pada saat proses pengecekan data asset yang masih manual antara Sceneres dan Renderes yang diperlukan untuk simulasi cloth masih sering terjadi kesalahan seperti human error dan set up cloth masih dilakukan disetiap shot. Dari masalah tersebut diusulkan untuk dilakukan pengembangan pipeline cloth simulation agar bisa meminimalisir kesalahan dan menghemat waktu pengerjaan. Hasil dari produksi film animasi sangat dipengaruhi oleh pipeline yang digunakan dalam produksi tersebut. Studi ini memberikan gambaran bagaimana sebuah pipeline ikut andil besar dalam sebuah hasil dari produksi film animasi 3D terutama dalam masalah waktu. Pada akhirnya studi ini dapat menjadi acuan dalam pembuatan sebuah pipeline film animasi khususnya pada divisi cloth simulation.Kata Kunci — pipeline, cloth simulation, animasi 3DThe effect of pipeline application in a 3D animation industry greatly influences the production of animation for maximizing. In each division. there is also a pipeline that is used for example the pipeline in the cloth simulation division. In the MSV studio pipeline simulation applied in the cloth simulation division there were still some obstacles during production. The work of the existing pipeline during the process of checking asset data which is still manual between Sceneres and Renderes needed for cloth simulation is still often had an error such as human error and set up cloth still done in every shot. From this problem it is proposed to develop a pipeline cloth simulation in order to minimize errors and saving time processing. The results of the production of animated films are strongly influenced by the pipeline used in the production. This studyprovides an illustration of how a pipeline contributes greatly to the results of the production of 3D animated films, especially in the matter of time. In the end, this study can be a reference in making an animation film pipeline, especially in the cloth simulation division.Keywords — pipeline, cloth simulation, 3D animation

Animation industry involves huge funds in production process and its success will give  great income. Predicting the box-office of animated film has become an interesting topic to be discussed, because past studies are shown to be contradictory. Sharda and Delen conducted a similar study that used seven parameters, i.e. MPAA rating, competition, star value, genre, special effects, sequel and number of screens; and generated pinpoint accuracy (i.e. Bingo) with 36.9% and within one category (1-Away) with 75.2%. The authors proposed new and simple parameters that can be used to predict the success of animated films, i.e. the actors/actress, animation studio, genre, MPAA rating and the sequel of the film. These five parameters are relatively simple because it can be easily collected. In this study, the use of neural networks in predicting the financial performance of 120 animated films from 1995 until 2013 was explored. There are three categories of financial performance that become the class label of this study, they are: low, medium and high. Our prediction result in bingo is 58% and 1-away is 89,7%. By using the simple parameters, this study can reach a better accuracy. It is expected that this prediction can help animation film industry to predict the expected revenue range before its theatrical release.

Facial expression is one of some aspects that can deliver story and character’s emotion in 3D animation. To achieve that, we need to plan the character facial from very beginning of the production. At early stage, the character designer need to think about the expression after theu done the character design. Rigger need to create a flexible rigging to achieve the design. Animator can get the clear picture how they animate the facial. Facial Action Coding System (FACS) that originally developed by Carl-Herman Hjortsjo and adopted by Paul Ekman and Wallace V. can be used to identify emotion in a person generally. This paper is going to explain how the Writer use FACS to help designing the facial expression in 3D characters. FACS will be used to determine the basic characteristic of basic shapes of the face when show emotions, while compare with actual face reference. Keywords: animation, facial expression, non-dialog

This study was aimed at assessing marketing efficiency in the main sites of meat production of calf fattening fields in the private sector due to the importance of meat, especially red meat, which has essential nutrient for human body growth and high commodity prices depending on the measurement indicators used to suit the nature of the research conducted in calves fattening production fields in Gogjali region- Nineveh  (2018). The basic source data of the study is obtained from sources on the ongoing ground- marketing questionnaire of three levels, the producer, the wholesaler, the retailer and two fields groups of caste random sample. The first group included (100) fields with imported calves class. The second included (51) fields with local calves class. Whereas, according to the production and marketing costs indicator, the average of marketing efficiency (ME1 ) of marketed meat in both groups of claves fattening fields amounted (92.47, 93.39%) respectively for a kilogram which is a sign of high production costs and, according to the marketing margins indicator, the average of marketing efficiency (ME2 ) of marketed meat in both groups of claves fattening fields amounted (86.89,79.13 %) for per kg which is a sign of high marketing margins. Thus the study concluded a high value of marketing efficiency using the first scale with the fattening period time for both groups while marketing efficiency by using the second scale was characterized by the gradual decline in the imported fattening fields and a gradual rise in the local fattening fields.  The study recommends supporting production inputs (fodder, treatment), unifying markets and limiting the    importation of red meat importation  in order to obtain a good production and currency policy by which the production costs could be reduced to the minimum .

As Earth’s fossil energy resources are limited, there is a growing need for renewable resources such as biodiesel. That is the reason why the social, economic and environmental impacts of biofuels became an important research topic in the last decade. Depleted stocks of crude oil and the significant level of environmental pollution encourage researchers and professionals to seek and find solutions. The study aims to analyze the economic and sustainability issues of biodiesel production by a systematic literature review. During this process, 53 relevant studies were analyzed out of 13,069 identified articles. Every study agrees that there are several concerns about the first-generation technology; however, further generations cannot be price-competitive at this moment due to the immature technology and high production costs. However, there are promising alternatives, such as wastewater-based microalgae with up to 70% oil content, fat, oils and grease (FOG), when production cost is below 799 USD/gallon, and municipal solid waste-volatile fatty acids technology, where the raw material is free. Proper management of the co-products (mainly glycerol) is essential, especially at the currently low petroleum prices (0.29 USD/L), which can only be handled by the biorefineries. Sustainability is sometimes translated as cost efficiency, but the complex interpretation is becoming more common. Common elements of sustainability are environmental and social, as well as economic, issues.

Abstract How can the manufacturability of different product design alternatives be evaluated efficiently during the early stages of concept exploration? The benefits of such integrated product and manufacturing process design are widely recognized and include faster time to market, reduced development costs and production costs, and increased product quality. To reap these benefits fully, however, one must examine product/process trade-offs and cost/schedule/performance trade-offs in the early stages of design. Evaluating production cost and lead time requires detailed simulation or other analysis packages which 1) would be computationally expensive to run for every alternative, and 2) require detailed information that may or may not be available in these early design stages. Our approach is to generate response surfaces that serve as approximations to the analyses packages and use these approximations to identify robust regions of the design space for further exploration. In this paper we present a method for robust product and process exploration and illustrate this method using a simplified example of a machining center processing a single component. We close by discussing the implications of this work for manufacturing outsourcing, designing robust supplier chains, and ultimately designing the manufacturing enterprise itself.

Microbial polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are promising biodegradable polymers that may alleviate some of the environmental burden of petroleum-derived polymers. The requirements for carbon substrates and energy for bioreactor operations are major factors contributing to the high production costs and environmental impact of PHAs. Improving the process productivity is an important aspect of cost reduction, which has been attempted using a variety of fed-batch, continuous, and semi-continuous bioreactor systems, with variable results. The purpose of this review is to summarize the bioreactor operations targeting high PHA productivity using pure cultures. The highest volumetric PHA productivity was reported more than 20 years ago for poly(3-hydroxybutryate) (PHB) production from sucrose (5.1 g L−1 h−1). In the time since, similar results have not been achieved on a scale of more than 100 L. More recently, a number fed-batch and semi-continuous (cyclic) bioreactor operation strategies have reported reasonably high productivities (1 g L−1 h−1 to 2 g L−1 h−1) under more realistic conditions for pilot or industrial-scale production, including the utilization of lower-cost waste carbon substrates and atmospheric air as the aeration medium, as well as cultivation under non-sterile conditions. Little development has occurred in the area of fully continuously fed bioreactor systems over the last eight years.

Based on preliminary observations, it was found that the people in Nias Islands,North Sumatra province had used medicinal plants for a long time and had inheritedthem from generation to generation. So that many people still use medicinal plants.This study aims to determine the types of family medicinal plants used by thecommunity, how to mix or process family medicinal plants, and public perceptionsof family medicinal plants. This research is a type of qualitative research withdescriptive methods with 125 respondents. Collecting data by observation,interviews, documentation. The data analysis technique uses three stages, namelydata reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. Fromthe research results, there were 23 plant species used by the community in NiasIsland as Family Medicinal Plants. The method of concocting family medicinalplants varies greatly, depending on the type of plant and disease, the people ofSambulu village have good perceptions about family medicinal plants. Suggestionsare expected to maintain the habit of using medicinal plants, and also teach them tochildren or young people.
