Lesson plan is an essential part in teaching and learning process. Recently, the government was released the Circular Letter number 14 of 2019 regarding to the simplification of lesson plan. It announced that one-page lesson plan as the new lesson plan format used in Indonesia. The one-page lesson plan format is shorter than the previous lesson plan, where the teachers only required to fulfill 3 main components and the other components are belonging to non-compulsory components. One-page lesson plan has three principles, namely effective, efficient, and student-oriented. This study aims at analyzing the English teachers' perspectives toward the one-page lesson plan principles at SMKN 3 Singaraja. The study was designed with a case study qualitative approach. The data were gathered by conducting an in-depth interview with the teachers. The study was involved four English teachers at SMKN 3 Singaraja. This study shows all of the English teachers have the same perspectives on one-page lesson plan principles that one-page lesson plan is more effective, efficient, and student-oriented if compared to the previous lesson plan format. The findings of this study imply that one-page lesson plan format helps the teachers easier to design an efficient, effective and more student-oriented instruction.

Abstract: This research aims at analyzing the experienced English teachers’ perspectives on the fulfillment of one-page lesson plan principles at SMAN 1 Singaraja. The research design used a case study qualitative approach. The research subjects were 2 experienced English teachers. The data collection procedure used in this study was an in-depth interview. The instruments of data collection procedure used was interview guides. The results revealed that the experienced English teachers’ perspectives were positive as the teachers believed that the one-page lesson plan was more efficient, effective, and more student-oriented so that the teachers could make simple lesson plan easily. These results showed that the principles of developing the one-page lesson plan have been implemented well based on the Circular Letter Number 14 of 2019 concerning Simplification of the Lesson Plan. Besides, the policy on the simplification of lesson plan needs to be maintained as it gains positive responses from the experienced English teachers. Desain penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif studi kasus. Subjek penelitian adalah 2 orang guru bahasa Inggris yang berpengalaman. Prosedur pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara mendalam. Instrumen prosedur pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa perspektif guru bahasa Inggris yang berpengalaman adalah positif karena guru tersebut meyakini bahwa RPP satu halaman lebih efisien, efektif, dan lebih berorientasi pada siswa sehingga guru tersebut dapat membuat RPP yang sederhana dengan mudah. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa prinsip-prinsip penyusunan RPP satu halaman telah dilaksanakan dengan baik sesuai dengan Surat Edaran Nomor 14 Tahun 2019 tentang Penyederhanaan Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP). Selain itu, kebijakan penyederhanaan RPP ini perlu dipertahankan karena mendapat respon positif dari para guru bahasa Inggris yang berpengalaman.   Abstract: The purpose of this study is to analyze the novice English teachers' perspectives on the one-page lesson plan principles at SMP Laboratorium Undiksha Singaraja. A case study qualitative design was used in this study. This study's data collection method included in-depth interviews to understand the novice teachers' perspectives. The subjects were two novice English teachers at SMP Laboratorium Undiksha Singaraja. The result showed the novice English teachers agreed one-page lesson plan is more efficient, effective, and students' oriented. However, novice English teachers had different perspectives for gathering students' information about the students' readiness, interests, and needs. This study implies that this one-page lesson plan policy needs to be sustained due to the English teachers' positive response. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini menggunakan interview mendalam untuk memahami perspektif para guru baru bahasa Inggris lebih mendalam. Subjek penelitian ini menggunakan dua guru bahasa Inggris baru di SMP Laboratorium Undiksha Singaraja. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa para guru bahasa Inggris baru setuju bahwa RPP satu halaman lebih efisien, efektif dan berorientasi pada siswa. Walaupun demikian, para guru bahasa Inggris baru tersebut memiliki perbedaan perspektif didalam mengumpulkan informasi mengenai kesiapan, ketertarikan, dan kebutuhan belajar siswa mereka. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa peraturan RPP satu halaman harus tetap digunakan secara berkelanjutan karena respon positif dari para guru bahasa Inggris baru tersebut. Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) is one of today’s frameworks that integrates technology in the teaching and learning process. However, little research has been done related to the investigation of in-service teachers’ TPACK, specifically in English language classroom setting. Therefore, this study aims at exploring TPACK in English language classroom from the prespectives of in-service English teachers. Qualitative  case study was involved as the approach of the study. The researchers utilized the triangulation of data sources including interview, observation, and document to get the data from in-service English teachers’ as the respondents of the study. The data acquired were then transcribed verbatim and analyzed using thematic analysis. The current study shows that there are three main themes as findings comprising English teachers’ understanding toward TPACK, the process of acquiring TPACK, and the English teachers’ challenges toward TPACK. The English teachers had a diverse understanding pertaining TPACK, and they owned various strategies in acquiring TPACK. However, the teachers faced challenges in implementing TPACK. This study migh have implications in providing the direction of English teachers’ professional development.

Life skill education is an education that provides basic supplies and training to learners about the values of life needed and useful for the development of everyday life. Research on integrated life skill education in enterpreneurship subject in SMP Cahaya Bangsa School aims to know what life skill orientation in Entrepreneurship subject and examine the extent of life skill education implementation in Enterpreneurship subject. The design of this study used qualitative research with case study type. A descriptive inductive approach is used to describe a case by understanding symptoms and meaning. Researchers use in-depth interview techniques, digging information with direct observation, and study documentation. In analyzing the data, the researcher through three main components, namely, data reduction, display data, and data conclusion drawing. The results showed that the concept of life skill education is internalized in the entrepreneurship subject syllabus, then the teacher describes it in various learning activities such as washing activities, ironing activities, live in program, and market day. Evaluation done by teacher in assessing ability of life skill of student is by observing directly activity in enterpreneurship subject and student also given duty to write report result of activity live in.

As teaching is considered as a lifelong process, teachers should always intend to develop themselves to be able to effectively conduct the teaching and learning process. This study aimed at exploring the view of pre-service English teachers towards the effective 21st-century teachers’ pedagogical competence and how they develop their pedagogical competence for their future teaching. The data were obtained through interviews and questionnaires. The study was qualitatively conducted as a case study by involving 12 pre-service English teachers purposively chosen due to their familiarity with the study issue. The results indicated that in terms of 21st-century education, the participants perceived that the pedagogical competence focused on teachers’ capability of integrating the technology in classrooms and teachers’ ability to exploit adjusted methods and materials which furnish students with skills appropriate to their future real-life careers.  Further, there were eight very crucial traits of effective 21st-century pedagogical competence perceived by the participants. This paper looks at the perceptions of MRSM (Majlis Amanah Rakyat or also known as People’s Trust Council) English teachers on their current professional development and their expectations on in-service training. As teachers, they are often expected to act as a source of motivation to their students apart from being accountable in providing instructions, knowledge, and skills in their respective academic subjects. However, very often, teachers are not provided with sufficient and appropriate training that would prepare them to be the kind of teacher that they are required and expected to be. This prompts this study that determines whether the in-service training provided is sufficient and aptly to help the teachers produce academically excellent students. This case study used a qualitative approach with purposive sampling of seven English teachers at Maktab Rendah Sains MARA, Beseri in Perlis with teaching experiences between 10 to 30 years. Semi-structured interviews and focus group methods were used to answer the research question which dwells on the MRSM English teachers’ expectations of professional development teacher training of their students’ achievement. The findings of the study revealed that teachers expect to have more professional development in terms of pedagogy, proficiency level, technology integration, and stress management. They also believe that improvement in professional development can positively affect their students’ achievement as teaching and learning processes can be done more effectively. It is therefore recommended that MARA should highlight its current in-service training and development policy to be consistent with the needs of teachers.

There are several researches in Myanmese nevertheless they never concern Rohingya migrant workers. Because the ASEAN is going to become AEC in 2015, they can migrate freely in the region and National Treatment. The aim of this research is to study how AEC affects to Rohingya workers in Khon Kaen Thailand by qualitative research approach, sample selection with Snowball sampling, and in-depth interview, the limitation is interview only 11 sample. This study demonstrate awareness of AEC effects and find the workers have very less knowledge about AEC, in addition every Rohingya workers express that there is no effect from ASEAN community because they do not have Myanmese identity card and never be Myanmar nationality. Every migrant would not like to go back to Myanmar because there is not confident that the Myanmese government recognizes Rohingya as the Myanmese. In contrast, they hope the government’s merciful operations to provide citizenship as right as the one of Myanmese.

Attitude is essential issue to be considered in designing an appropriate learning for learners because it greatly affects the performance and implementation of the teaching and learning process in the classroom. One of the most important attitudes to be explored is the willingness of teachers to implement the curriculum set by the government. This study aims to determine the willingness of English teachers to carry out scientific approach and also to know the implementation of scientific approach in the learning. This research applies qualitative approach with case study design. It is conducted in SMAN 1 Situbondo with three teachers become the informants. Interview and observation are implemented to explore the willingness and the implementation of Scientific Approach. Data analysis in this research using Spradley’s method. From this research, it can be seen that the teachers has enough willingness to apply scientific approach totally. Furthermore, the implementation of scientific approach has been implemented well enough and has implemented it in accordance with government regulation.

<p>Belief is an underlying case in human’s decision and attitude, including in the classroom interaction context. Its existence in classroom interaction is revealed in this article by identifying and describing the students’ and teacher’s belief about their classroom interaction toward teaching and learning English. The study was carried out using qualitative case study in Surakarta, at eighth grades student and their English teacher. The data were collected through questionnaire, interview, classroom observation, and teacher’s lesson plan which then reduced to find the smallest valuable unit, categorized based on similarity, and compared to find the relation between the categories thus hypothesis is constructed as the answer. The research findings show that: (1) students believe they have good classroom interaction; (2) the teacher believes that interaction is the students’ need facilitating media; then (3) the belief has affected the students’ paradigm, that now they like English, and has affected the teacher’s decision making on her social interaction and her way of teaching. Having positive belief is beneficial to support cooperative teaching and learning process.</p>

The scientific literacy skills of Indonesian students are still low. This condition encourages the government to improve the ability to solve problems, namely by issuing Permendikbud Number 65 of 2013 concerning the standards for the process of primary and secondary education, including the development of the domain of attitudes, knowledge, and skills. This development research aims to produce science learning tools on the topic of classification of living things in class VII of the SMP Negeri which are valid, practical and effective. Development research refers to the device development model with phases 1) Identifying problems, 2) Describing objectives, 3) Designing and developing devices, 4) Performing tests, 5) Evaluating test results, and 6) Communicating test results. Data was collected using instruments and evaluation questions. All data collected was analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the learning device was declared valid. Practical learning tools are used based on the results of the lesson plan implementation and student responses. Learning tools are also effectively based on results 1) cognitive assessment 2) psychomotor, social, and spiritual assessment, 3) critical thinking assessment, 4) student activity on teaching and learning activities and, 5) teacher response to teaching and learning activities.
