IDEA Line B3 is a two-year coaching program for teachers who wish to be updated on how to enhance their capacity to effectively implement specific technologies in their teaching practice. The project is a natural extension of a previous three-year project aiming at fighting students’ disengagement through the implementation of extracurricular technological activities. Activities resulted attractive to students and participating school teachers expressed the need to be coached and supported in using critically technologies in educational contexts, with special attention to their implementation to didactics. Technology is not only useful in delivering lessons, but it also is useful for course preparation. In this paper we shall illustrate the project organization, its objectives, the target group, the training activities. We shall also describe the platform developed to store and share educational material and scenarios produced during the training period, the communication activities carried out, the methodology adopted, the organizational procedures as well as the monitoring activities. We shall illustrate the 3 themes object of this year’s program and their related technologies: School Without Walls (with the use of Augmented Reality – AR); Computational Thinking (with coding, educational robotics, and Internet of Things – IoT); Interdisciplinarity (with Artificial Intelligence – AI).

Целью работы стала оценка сформированности экспериментальных умений по физике. Достижение поставленной цели было основано на таких методах исследования, как анализ психолого-педагогической и методической литературы по проблеме формирования экспериментальных умений школьников, а также проведение опытно-поисковой работы. В качестве результатов проведённых нами исследований стала разработка трёхуровневой структуры экспериментальных умений и её адаптация к оценке сформированности экспериментальных умений учащихся после первого года обучения физике. Новизна работы заключается в разработке методики оценки экспериментальных умений школьников с учётом психологических факторов забывания осознанного учебного материала. Полученные результаты смогут найти широкое применение в работе школьных учителей, а также в ходе педагогической практики студентов. The aim of the work was to assess the formation of experimental skills in physics. Achievement of this goal was based on such research methods as analysis of psychological, pedagogical and methodological literature on the problem of the formation of experimental skills of schoolchildren, as well as conducting experimental search work. As a result of our research, the development of a three-level structure of experimental skills and its adaptation to the assessment of the formation of experimental skills of students after the first year of teaching physics was developed. The novelty of the work lies in the development of a methodology for assessing the experimental skills of schoolchildren, taking into account the psychological factors of forgetting the conscious educational material. The results obtained can find wide application in the work of school teachers, as well as in the course of student teaching practice.

A modern school deals with a generation of students who were born and grown up in a digital environment and require other teaching methods. Changes in the technological and social conditions of modern society need new professional skills, which are often called “21st century skills”. These skills should be devel-oped starting from the primary school, as they are psychological and behavioural, rather than practical. Game-based learning and gamification are effective means of such skills development. The use of video games in teaching practice is studied multifaceted, along with formats and requirements of educational game, methods for effectiveness assessment, and the effect of games on students. The controver-sial nature of game-based learning effect on students require deeper research, as the increase in motivation and learning efficiency cannot be disputed, as well as the negative impact of a long gaming on cognitive abilities, emotional state and social skills of students. The study tested both an increase in the motivation and attraction of school students for the learning process, and the impact on the prac-tical results of information assimilation. There was conducted a survey on the re-sults of the application of game training to determine the motivation and attraction of students. Likewise, we counted time, spent by the study and control group, for mastering the main educational material and the post-class study of game content and the educational material it presents. A comparative test was conducted on the results of educational material comprehension to determine the effectiveness of the methodology in mastering knowledge. The group, with game-based learning and gamification applied, showed an increase in motivation and attraction to learning, students paid additional efforts for assimilating the material studied, and also showed significantly higher learning outcomes compared to the control group.

New Zealand primary school teachers are expected to regularly reflect on their teaching practice in order to consider the implications of past teaching on future planning. Aligned to teachers’ ongoing reflection, the New Zealand Curriculum (Ministry of Education, 2007) contains a section on effective pedagogy—teacher actions promoting student learning, which includes a Teaching as Inquiry Cycle (pp. 34–35). Embedded within their inquiry, teachers consider the teaching-learning relationship and often turn to frameworks of knowledge for guidance. This article shares the implications of using a framework of teacher knowledge in research. While the framework used contained much detail for the researcher, it overlapped categories and at the same time lacked acknowledgement of some important concepts for teachers in classroom practice. Findings from using a framework in this research were combined with findings from previous research to formulate the Wheel of Professional Knowledge, which was developed for mathematics teachers to use when reflecting on their practice.

Instruction materials help students to acquire more memorable information. Instruction materials have an important effect on providing more permanent and simple way of learning in every step of education. Instruction materials are the most frequently used by primary school teachers. Primary school teachers should support their lectures with instruction materials in order to provide permanent learning. The Teaching Technologies and Material Designing (TTMD) course which is one of the compulsory courses that students must take aims to acquire students the information and skills related with the preparation and use of materials. Evaluation of TTMD course is important in terms of the effectiveness of the course which provides the opportunity of motivating the students to learn by attracting their attention, keeping their attentions alive, making abstract concepts more concrete, facilitating the acquisition of knowledge in an organized way in the process of learning and teaching. In this context, it was aimed to determine the opinions of students in the department of primary school teaching about preparation and use of materials through teaching practice which is done within TTMD course in this study. This study is a descriptive study based on qualitative data. The sample of this research included 37 students from the department of primary school teaching who took TTMD course in the second semester in 2014-2015 academic year at Ataturk Education Faculty of Near East University or students who took this course in previous academic years. The data of this research were collected with structured interview form. According to the results, it was revealed that primary school teachers’ candidates attach importance to prepare and use materials based on their answers about the use and preparation of materials in instruction. When the opinions of primary school teachers candidates about the criteria that they give value in preparing and using materials, it was figured out that they emphasize the criteria such as suitability for student level, suitability for aim, simplicity and easy comprehensibility. Furthermore, the results indicated that primary school teachers’ candidates mostly experience difficulty in finding suitable materials and tools for the aim. It was also revealed that the majority of primary school teachers’ candidates stated that they will use materials and a few of them indicated that they will not use materials since they find materials as insufficient based on their answers about the question asking if they will use the materials which they prepared in TTMD course when they begin teaching profession. Keywords: primary school, primary teaching candidates, teaching technologies and material designing (TTMD) course, material design, instruction materials

A problemática deste trabalho consiste em investigar o desenvolvimento da aula expositiva de Geografia, em escolas públicas de Teresina-PI. Especificamente, buscou-se caracterizar os modelos de aulas expositivas de Geografia; caracterizar a aula expositiva de Geografia desenvolvida pelos professores do Ensino Médio; analisar como o professor usa a linguagem nas aulas expositivas de Geografia e, por último, debater uma proposta de sequência didática que promova a interatividade na aula de Geografia. Trata-se de um estudo de natureza qualitativa. Do ponto de vista teórico-conceitual, o estudo foi desenvolvido com base nos seguintes eixos: primeiramente, considera as reflexões sobre a aula expositiva, tanto na perspectiva tradicional quanto na perspectiva dialógica. Em segundo lugar, focaliza a aula na prática docente em Geografia. E, em terceiro lugar, sublinha o papel da linguagem para o aperfeiçoamento da aula de Geografia. A partir deste quadro de referência, o texto está estruturado em sete seções, compreendendo a Introdução, caminhos metodológicos e três seções teóricas, uma de análise e uma propositiva. Ensino de Geografia. GEOGRAPHY LESSON IN SECONDARY EDUCATION: the legacy of tradition to renewal of possibilities ABSTRACT The problem of this study is to investigate the development of lecture of geography in public schools in Teresina-PI. Specifically, we sought to characterize the models of lectures of Geography; characterize the lecture of Geography developed by high school teachers; analyze how the teacher uses the language in lectures of Geography and finally discuss a proposed didactic sequence that promotes interactivity in geography class. This is a qualitative study. From the theoretical and conceptual point of view, the study was developed based on the following principles: first, considers the reflections on the lecture, both in traditional perspective as the dialogical perspective. Second, the class focuses on teaching practice in geography. And thirdly, it emphasizes the role of language for the improvement of Geography class. From this frame of reference, the text is structured in seven sections, comprising the Introduction, methodological paths and three theoretical sections, one of analysis and one propositive. PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to bare the peculiarities and challenges of the dual training (DT) of the future primary school teachers in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The above-mentioned problem is quite urgent, as the system of VET and DT is a rather new experience for Kazakhstani system of higher education. Thereby, the paper makes an effort to demonstrate the forms of organization of DT at teachers’ training university.Design/methodology/approachThe instruments for gathering information (data) for this study were various primary school teachers’ training curricula adopted by Kazakh State Women’s Teacher Training University; in particular, curricula of teaching practice. Various types of teaching practice during the entire learning period are provided by the state educational standards of higher professional education. Therefore, the research utilized a retrospective analysis that allows identifying the nature and specifics of the primary school teachers’ training curricula.FindingsThe paper points out the necessity to strengthen practical orientation of future primary school teacher through the synthesis of academic and educational processes (in school). It also presents the differences between the organization of teaching practice based on traditional and dual approach.Originality/valueThe authors suggest project curriculum of continuous teaching practice during the entire learning process on the example of the specialty 5B010200 Pedagogy and methodology of primary education in the context of DT and some results of its implementation.

The article discusses the possibilities of using the electronic constructor "ZNATOK" when studying the initial course of informatics. There are described four main directions of using the constructor: 1) when studying the concepts of "model" and "modeling"; 2) when studying the concept of "algorithm"; 3) when studying the device of a computer; 4) in the process of getting acquainted with the concept of "information processes". Possible stages of working with the constructor when considering these topics are presented: examples of exercises; methodological techniques that contribute to better memorization of educational material; planned learning outcomes for schoolchildren; possible areas of work in middle and high school. The material can be used not only by school teachers, but also by specialists of additional education system, as well as in higher education system in the preparation of bachelors in the areas of training 03.04.01 "Pedagogical education", 44.03.05 "Pedagogical education (with two training profiles) ", masters of the direction of training 44.04.01 "Pedagogical education", in the courses of advanced training of teachers.
