The development of research-based learning proliferates throughout the world, and it depicts the growth of an academic article's publication globally. To strengthen the paper's quality, particularly in Indonesia, the students need a guideline on writing an academic article. This qualitative and quantitative research would portray the needs analysis in developing a research-based textbook in academic writing. Fifty students and thirty lecturers were involved in the interview, documentation, and survey. The result shows that the skills needed to accommodate are referencing skills, writing the research's significance, and writing the conclusion. This study also suggested nine units of an Academic Writing Textbook needed by the students to produce a good article, namely  Introduction to Academic Article Writing, Strategies in avoiding plagiarism, Writing an introduction, writing a literature review, writing a research method, Presenting Findings and Discussion, Writing a conclusion, Tips on Referencing, choosing the title, and writing an abstract. These findings strengthen the previous studies, which states writing a conclusion of an academic article is challenging, particularly in the English Language Teaching context.

English, though an adopted language in colonized countries like India, has deep cultural roots there.  Not only has English enriched the languages of these nations but has also lend itself to the medium of creative expression in these countries. It has become part and parcel of intelligence as well as emotional makeup of the educated people there. It is the language required by the world for greater understanding. Today, the compulsions of learning English are no longer nearly political but scientific and technological. Watching videos is always entertaining. Apart from entertainment, video watching is thoroughly a teaching and learning process. Therefore English language acquisition can be made easy with videos as an aid. The research seeks to prove how far videos help in language acquisition and the quantitative research analyses a sample group of children belonging to the age group of 8-10 years

Abstract Background A proposal to encourage the preregistration of research on research integrity was developed and adopted as the Amsterdam Agenda at the 5th World Conference on Research Integrity (Amsterdam, 2017). This paper reports on the degree to which abstracts of the 6th World Conference in Research Integrity (Hong Kong, 2019) reported on preregistered research. Methods Conference registration data on participants presenting a paper or a poster at 6th WCRI were made available to the research team. Because the data set was too small for inferential statistics this report is limited to a basic description of results and some recommendations that should be considered when taking further steps to improve preregistration. Results 19% of the 308 presenters preregistered their research. Of the 56 usable cases, less than half provided information on the six key elements of the Amsterdam Agenda. Others provided information that invalidated their data, such as an uninformative URL. There was no discernable difference between qualitative and quantitative research. Conclusions Some presenters at the WCRI have preregistered their research on research integrity, but further steps are needed to increase frequency and completeness of preregistration. One approach to increase preregistration would be to make it a requirement for research presented at the World Conferences on Research Integrity.

The group of older consumers is gradually increasing in the structure of the world consumer market. The companies that have discerned the huge potential in this segment often achieve better results and in some cases become market leaders. It proves that in order to achieve sustainable competitiveness it is necessary to study the category of aged consumers in-depth, to realize their characteristics and the mechanisms of formation of their perception. One of the important tools for achieving this goal are exhibitions, which not only provide an opportunity to build marketing communication with target audiences, but also allow to evaluate, form and correct their perceptions. This paper deals with the approaches to adaptation of an exhibition event for the target audience of older ages. The methodology of empirical research included qualitative and quantitative research, involving the participant observation method within the preparation of the “50 PLUS” International Forum and Exhibition.

ABSTRACT  Improving the quality of service also needs to be done by health service units including hospitals. The hospital has a mission to provide quality health services that are affordable to the community in order to improve the public health status. This type of research used in this research is quantitative research. The sampling technique used was non probability sampling. This study used a sample of 100 (one hundred) respondents. The instrument testing technique in this study was validity and reliability tests, while the data analysis techniques used were descriptive analysis, multiple linear analysis, and classical assumption. The results showed that: 1) service quality had an effect on patient satisfaction, 2) facilities had no effect on patient satisfaction, 3) service quality and facilities had an effect on patient satisfaction.

Educational research has several competing views of the social sciences, and these are often referred to as paradigms. Hammersley (2013, p. 13) portrays paradigms as ‘not simply methodologies; they are ways of looking at the world, different assumptions about what the world is like and how we can understand or know about it’.  The paradigm wars’ boils down to a simple conflict between academics and scholars of qualitative and quantitative research which concerns the relative merits of the different perspectives. In the 1980s, the objectivity-seeking quantitative researcher diminished, whilst, post positivists, interpretivists, and critical theorists flourished throughout this same period. Mixed methods research (MMR) combines elements of both qualitative and quantitative approaches and has often been branded as a ‘transformative paradigm’. The importance of MMR means that the author can combine knowledge sets and move away from one’s allegiance to a particular research perspective. This review of literature will examine the paradigms that are commonly associated with education research. There is an active debate in the research community on the paradigms wars, and this will also be examined in relation to MMR.

With this article - combining the qualitative and quantitative research methods - we analyze the Sino-Angolan - China-Angola - bilateral trade relationship today focusing on the oil issue. As part of a globalized economic landscape, we seek to identify asymmetries in this relationship in light of the “Prebichian” Center-Periphery scheme” - elaborated by economist Raúl Prebisch in the last century -. China, an emerging developing country (or already a Center for some thinkers), has indeed a thriving economy with a capillarity that is still complex to scale. While Angola is a country that can still be conceptualized - in many ways - “underdeveloped” (ie a peripheral country). This article can also be conceived as a further step in understanding what China wants economically, of course - but also politically from the rest of the African continent, the world and Brazil -. As a possibility to investigate specifically China's relations with other Lusophone African countries, such as: Mozambique (Chinese wood supplier) and Cape Verde (Chinese fish supplier). Finally, we seek to draw from Sino-Angolan bilateral trade relations, brief lessons for Sino-Brazilian bilateral trade - China-Brazil - as China is today our largest economic partner.
