Enhancing Primary Students’ Achivement in Civic Education with Talking Stick Approach

This study aims to determine differences in student learning outcomes learned through cooperative learning model type of talking stick with students who are taught conventional learning model. This research uses quasi experimental method with nonequivalent control group design. This research was conducted at 62 students in third class elementary school. The result of the research is before implemntation cooperative type learning model talking stick type in the experimental class and conventional model learning in the control class is obtained tcount<ttabel that is -0.430 <2.000 which means there is no significant difference civic education learning outcome. In the experimental class and control class after treatment obtained tcount<ttabel is 0.676 <2.000 which also means there is no difference civic education learning outcome. Thus, it can be conclude that cooperative learning model with talking stick can enhance elementary students’ achivement in civic education.

This research aims to analyze the learning model's practice and its effect on increasing student activity and learning outcomes in listening subjects. This study employed quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent control group design. The data were gained using observation and tests. It is analyzed by reflection and statistical test of SPPS. The results show that the application of the AMETTA learning model effectively develops student learning activities and outcomes. The result of hypothesis testing with sig. (2-tailed) was 0.033 (˂ 0.05) It indicates that Ho is rejected. Thus, there is a significant difference between the average student learning outcomes in the experimental and control classes. In other words, the application of AMETTA learning model has a significant effect on students’ learning outcomes.

Critical thinking skill of students is affected by many factors, including the learning model. There are many kinds of learning model; one of it is cooperative learning model with student facilitator and explaining type. This article discussed the results of research on the application of the student facilitator and explaining model in improving critical thinking skill of students in introduction of office administration subject. This study used a quasi-experimental method with Nonequivalent Control Group design. The results of conducted research showed a positive and significant difference in the application of the cooperative learning model with student facilitator and explaining type to improve critical thinking skill of learners.ABSTRAKKemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor, diantaranya adalah model pembelajaran,dimana model pembelajaran ini banyak sekali macamnya salah satunya adalah model cooverarative learning tipe student facilitator and eksplaining. Artikel ini membahas hasil penelitian tentang penerapan model student facilitator and eksplaining dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada mata pelajaran pengantar administrasi perkantoran. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang positif dan signifikan dalam penerapan model pembelejaran kooperatif tipe student facilitator and eksplaining untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik.

ABSTRACTOne of the ways to improve student’slearning activity and learning outcomes using studentcentered learning model. Therefore, this study applied cooperative learning model make amatchtype and analyzed its impact on student’s learning activity and learning outcome. This study was Quasi Experimental Research using Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The samples were selected by using purposive sampling technique, which are XD as the experiment class and XG as the control class. Data was collectedusing measurement, observation, and direct communication techniques. Learning outcome test, observation sheets and interview guidelines were used as data collection tools. Based on the data analysis which uses non-parametric U-Mann Whitney showed that there were differences in students learning activity and learning outcome between experiment class and control class. The Effect sizethat was obtained for student’s learning activities and learning outcomes were 1.17 and 0.86, respectively. Both are in high category of influence, which influenced amounted to 36.65% of the student’s learning activity and 30.52% of the student’slearning outcome. This study shows that cooperative learning model make a match has a major effect toward student’s learning activity and learning outcome.Keywords: Learning Activity, learning outcomes, make a match, reduction-oxidation

This research is aimed to determine the effectivity of cooperative learning model through Numbered Heads Together (NHT) by visual media on students’ achievement in material life organization of VII grade SMP Rehoboth. The research is quasi experimental design, with nonequivalen control group design. The research samples are VIIa and VIIb grade. The technique of data collecting is by using random sampling. The average score of the students’ achievement that has been teach by using Numbered Heads Together (NHT) of cooperative learning model with visual media is 14,89 as higher than the conventional model of 11,29. The t-test in standard 5%  shows tcount= 5,023 bigger than its comparation to ttable = 1,679, it means there is a significant difference in the post-test result.  The counting of effect size is 1,27 it includes high, so the concluded that Numbered Heads Together (NHT) of cooperative learning model with visual media gave 39,80% of contribution on students’ achievement.Key words : Numbered heads together, visual media.

The purpose of the study was to find out different cognitive student achievement used Make a Match and conventional learning model in pollution and destruction environment and the connection with human activity material in class VII SMP Yapis Manokwari. The method used the quasi experimental with nonequivalent control group design. The sample in this research was conducted in class VIII A as experimental class as many as 28 students and class VII B as control class as many as 25 students. The technique sampling used purposive sampling. The data analysis was t-test and significant ɑ= 0,05. The result showed the significant 0,039 &lt; 0,05 and score of experiment class were 69,21 and control class were 56,4. Conclusion, there is a significant difference in the average cognitive student achievement who are taught by Make a Match learning model and the conventional learning model.

This study is aimed at investigating the difference of students’ civics achievement between those who are taught by Think Pair Share model based on concept mapping and those who are taught by conventional learning model of the fifth grade students in Elementary School of Cluster I in Petang District. It is a quasi-experimental research using non-equivalent post-test only control group design. The population of this research is 102 students in grade V in Elementary School of Cluster I Petang District. The samples of this research are fifth grade students of SD Negeri 3 Carangsari as experimental group and fifth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Carangsari as control group. The data of civics achievement were collected by using multiple choice tests. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistical analysis (t-test). The result showed that tcount= 3,83 and ttable = 2,03 (tcount>ttable) which can be concluded that there are significant difference between the students’ civics achievement between those who were taught by Think Pair Share learning model based on concept mapping and those who were taught by the conventional learning model in grade V in Elementary School of Cluster I Petang District of Badung Regency in academic year 2017/2018.

This research describes the differences of student’s learning with the application of cooperative learning type make a match in the electrolyte and non-electrolyte at the X grade student’s of the Madrasah Aliya DDI Lonja. This research used quasi experimental with non randomized pretest-posttest control group design. This research was conducted with two groups: XA as the experimental (n=21) XB as the control group (n=18). The data findings means score of experimental group (X1) is 70,5 with the standard deviation 9,6 and the control group (X2) is 62.0 with the standard deviation is 6. Based on the results, the researcher concludes cooperative learning type make a match has better than control class that used conventional learning model.

<p>This research is aimed to find out:  (1) the differences learning outcomes between project based learning aided edmodo model  and conventional learning (2) the effectiveness of using project based learning model to increase learning outcomes of two dimentional animation techniques. This research used quasi experimental with pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this research are students of class XI 1 and XI 3 multimedia program of Vocation High School Batik 2 Surakarta with 70 students. The technique of data collection used test to find out cognitive value and observation to find out affective and psychomotor values. The data analysis used were t-test formula and gain index analysis. The result showed that : (1) there was difference learning outcomes between project based learning model and conventional learning model at eleventh grade students of vocational high school Batik 2 Surakarta which shown by t_count= 4,435 cognitive, t_count= 2,175 affective, t_count  = 2,344 psychomotor were bigger that t_table = 1,995. (2) project based learning is more effective than conventional learning model to increase learning outcomes of two dimentional animation techniques which shown by gain index analisys, at experiment class obtained 0,587 and control class obtained 0,369.</p>

The purpose of conducting this research is to compare the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning learning model and the Project Based Learning learning model in terms of the critical thinking skills of elementary students. This type of research used in this research is Quasi Experimental with experimental design of Post test-Only Control Group Design. The population in the study were 164 five grade students in Diponegoro Salatiga Cluster, while the sample is 111 students of five grade students in SDN Mangunsari 01, SDN Mangunsari 03, and SDN Mangunsari 05. The results obtained from this study are based on descriptive statistics where the average implementation of the Problem Based Learning learning model is 92.46, while the average implementation of the Project Based Learning learning model is 85.15. the results of critical thinking skills in the Problem Based Learning model are higher than the Project Based Learning learning model reinforced by the T test results obtained by the Sig. (2-tailed) of 0, 047 0.05 thus there is a significant difference between the two groups.

The problem in this study is the low learning outcomes achieved by students on the subjects of Basic Electrical and Electronics which is below the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) set a school that is 75 This is presumably because they are learning is often used during the learning model is applied directly proven yet effective. The purpose of this research is to reveal how much influence the Jigsaw cooperative learning model to study the results of class X students on subjects TAV Basic Electricity and Electronics. This research is an experimental study with a draft Post-test only control group design. The sample were students of class X TAV at SMK 1 Padang Academic Year 2014 / 2015. Class experiment is treated using Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model and the control group is a class that uses the direct teaching model. The data is taken from the test results in the form of learning about the objective as many as 31 items. Data were analyzed manually to test for normality, homogeneity testing, and hypothesis testing. The result of the calculation hypothesis at significance level α = 0.05 was found that t count> t table is 3.35> 1.670. The results of these tests give an interpretation that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, this means that on average significantly experimental class learning outcomes greater than the average control class learning outcomes.  Key words :   Models of Learning, Jigsaw, Learning Direct, Post-test only control group design, Learning outcomes, Experimental, and Control.
