Russian universities are involved in the global process of rethinking and remodelling of the higher educational system. They are expected to provide their students with a wide variety of skills, which are often referred to as "21st century competencies". Such skills as critical thinking, decision making, the ability to communicate effectively and solve problems through negotiation and collaboration are needed for success in study and careers. For the universities it means growing importance of making curriculum relevant, helping students learn how to teach themselves, and fostering creativity. This article explores the quality of learning in the Russian technical university and concludes that the current pedagogy has not adapted yet to address the challenges of the twenty-first century. The traditional approach, based upon a teacher-centred focus on rote learning still prevails.  Through this research it was found that there are different pedagogical approaches that could develop different 21st century competencies by technical students. The article concludes with a discussion around some innovative teaching methods that make lessons more student-driven and motivating.

The paper describes the peculiarities of the development of the digital course “Mathematical Analysis. 1st semester” in the digital learning system Nomotex (DLS “NOMOTEX”) [1], developed at the Department of Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Physics, Bauman Moscow State Technical University. The features of innovative teaching methods using this course are also presented.

The article is devoted to the consideration of the theoretical aspects of the influence of the organization of the humanitarian environment in a technical educational institution on improving the quality of training specialists, increasing their competitiveness in the labor market. The analysis of special literature and generalization of different points of view on the subject of research act as research methods. The humanitarian environment represents a certain content orientation of the educational system of curricula and work programs of disciplines that include the unity of material and spiritual values that are responsible for the formation of students’ personality. Each teacher considers this problem in his own way, so the points of view have their own specifics. The humanitarian environment of the university includes a specially organized training system in which a set of specially selected methods and technologies is used to «nurture» a competitive specialist with a set of not only professional, but also personal competencies. The training of specialists in a technical university has its own characteristics related to the further professional implementation of graduates. Students at the stage of training must master special competencies, develop personal qualities, be motivated to study disciplines and master new types of activities. The organization of the humanitarian environment in the organization should be implemented at all levels: university, faculty, at each specific lesson in the study of disciplines, both provided for in the curriculum and extracurricular according to the plan of educational work. For this purpose, it is necessary to maintain and control the interaction of students with all components of the educational environment of a higher educational institution using methods such as: humanitarian technologies, mentoring, organizing a positive psychological climate in the institution, introducing additional educational programs, using active and innovative teaching methods.

Introduction.  During the training of emergency specialists, the development of a clear, structured thinking is important.  And the mathematical disciplines themselves are aimed at activating the intellectual activity of cadets and students, the ability to think logically, consistently, and reasonably.  However, cadets and students consider mathematics to be a complex, inaccessible and not very necessary science.  Therefore, there is a need for continuous, continuous development of methods, technologies of forms of training that would increase interest, accessibility to mathematical disciplines and at the same time, were aimed at improving the quality of training of future rescuers. Purpose.  Identify the main stages of teaching higher mathematics for future civil defense specialists and substantiate their peculiarities. Methods.  The article used methods of scientific knowledge (general), methods used in the empirical and theoretical levels of research (transition from abstract to specific).  Results.  The basic stages of teaching higher mathematics for future specialists of civil defense are determined: motivation, research, assimilation, application.  The proposed stages are analyzed in detail.  The regularities that contribute to the increase of motivation (selection of educational material, system approach, creative approach, a variety of forms and methods of teaching, taking into account the specifics of the future profession, the use of innovative teaching technologies) are highlighted.  There are three phases of knowledge (curiosity, curiosity, theoretical knowledge).  It is determined that for the acquisition of knowledge it is possible to use the information - search type of classes with its microstructure.  Planning the microstructure of occupations in the first place should put the level of cognitive activity, awareness and independence in the performance of educational tasks.  It is noted that the process of assimilation is the process of internalization of knowledge, putting it into the inner plan of man, and the application is to extraorise knowledge, make it to the outline of human activity.  It was investigated that the stage of application of knowledge is divided into two parts (the first is the application of knowledge, skills in standard terms, the second - the transfer of knowledge, skills, skills in new, changed conditions).  Examples of applied tasks that can be solved in higher mathematics classes are given.  It is substantiated that only in combination of all stages is formed the need for knowledge acquisition and their application. Conclusion.  Stages of teaching higher mathematics - a cyclical process that requires constant improvement, hard work of the teacher.  Stages of motivation and application combine the same laws (selection of educational material, creative approach, taking into account the specifics of the future profession, the use of innovative teaching technologies).  And only in a logical, thought-out combination of these stages can one form the future need for civil protection specialists to expand the knowledge and apply it to practical application.

Taking into consideration the complexity of the new, heterogeneous, and different training needs currently present in the classrooms, the school is called to respond them in an effective and concrete way through inclusive educational approaches centered on the students, none excluded. On this basis, the authors, supporting the importance of technology in innovative teaching, propose the design and construction of an intelligent white stick through an inclusive cooperative methodology. The presented device, presented in this paper, is inspired by an open and collaborative teaching, enhancing a responsible digital education, accepting the training needs of all the students present in the classroom, specifically the blind student, and the recognition of the diversity in view of the reduction of disability.
