Pneumonia is the premiere killer of toddlers in the world and in Indonesia. In Indonesia pneumonia is the cause of 15% of infant mortality is estimated as many as 922,000 under-fives in 2015. Puskesmas Kamonji is a health center that has the highest number of pneumonia cases in the city of Palu is 422 cases in 2015. Based on evidence that the risk factor of pneumonia is the lack of breastfeeding exclusive, malnutrition, indoor air pollution, low birth weight (LBW), population density, and lack of measles immunization. The purpose of this study is known factors associated with the incidence of pneumonia, namely Exclusive breastfeeding and history of low birth weight (LBW). The type of research used is analytical survey with case control approach. The samples in this study were all mothers who had children under 12-59 months in the Kamonji Puskemas Working Area consisted of 70 samples consisting of 35 case samples and 35 control samples. This research uses Chi-square statistical analysis with 5% error rate (α = 0,05) and trust level 95%. The results showed that exclusive breastfeeding (P value = 0.147) and low birth weight (P Value = 1,000) did not correlate with pneumonia occurrence in children aged 12-59 months. The conclusion in this study was no association between exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of pneumonia and no association between low birth weight infants and the incidence of pneumonia. Suggestions for Health Officers to continue to give counseling about the importance of healthy living behavior teaches the community how important to wash hands with soap and keep the nutritional status of toddlers is always good.

MMR and IMR in the world as well as in Indonesia are still a serious problem because this figure is an indicator of national health. The common cause of infant and neonatal mortality in Bantul Regency is low birth weight (LBW). One of the factors causing LBW is maternal disease factors that are directly related to pregnancy. One of them is preeclampsia. The purpose of this study was to determine the Correlation between Preeclampsia and the Incidence of Low Birth Weight Infants (LBW) at PKU Muhammadiyah Bantul Hospital in 2019. The design of this study used the correlation analytical method with a case control approach. The sampling method in this study used total sampling technique with the total sample size of the study were 174 newborns. The data collection technique used secondary data by collecting baby medical record data and maternal medical record data. The analysis technique used the chi square test. Babies who experienced LBW were as many as 87 (50%), did not experience LBW as many as 87 (50%), those who had preeclampsia were 45 (25.9%), did not experience preeclampsia as many as 129 (74.1%). The results of the study based on the chi square test showed that there was no correlation between preeclampsia and the incidence of low birth weight (LBW) with p = 0.863 and an odds ratio of 0.942. The conclusion is that there is no correlation between preeclampsia and the incidence of low birth weight babies (LBW), the p value is 0.863 0.05. It is suggested that further analysis of other maternal factors on the incidence of low birth weight in PKU Muhammadiyah Bantul Hospital.

Background Infants who are breastfed receive natural protectionagainst certain infections. Despite the known benefits of exclusivebreastfeeding, many Indonesian mothers choose to supplementwith formula. There have been few Indonesian studies on theeffect of exclusive breastfeeding in reducing acute respiratoryinfections in low birth weight infants in their first four monthsof life. Objective To investigate the effect of exclusive breastfeeding inreducing the incidence of acute respiratory infections in low birthweight infants during their first four months of life. Methods We conducted a prospective cohort study on low birthweight babies in Sanglah Hospital, Denpasar. The total numberof subjects was 181. The incidence of acute respiratory infectionsduring the first 4 months of life and the duration of breast feedingwere assessed by questionnaires. Data was analyzed Mth Chisquare and logistic regression tests. Results Infants who were exclusively breastfed for 4 months hada lower risk of acute respiratory infection than those who were notexclusively breastfed (RR 0.07; 95% CI 0.03 to 0.14; P􀁄O.OOI).After adjustment for gestational age, parity, maternal nutritionalstatus, family size, smoke exposure, and history of atopy, infantswho were exclusively breastfed still had a lower risk for acuterespiratory infection than those who were not exclusively breastfed(RR 0.06; 95% CI 0.03 to 0.13; P 􀁄 0.001)Conclusion Exclusive breastfeeding reduced the risk of acuterespiratory infection in low birth weight infants in the first fourmonths after birth. Introduction:Every pregnant mother wants their baby to be born in normal and healthy condition. Therefore, it would become a stressful event that might cause psychological distress or even emotional crisis in mother, when their infants are premature and low birth weight born. Methodology: A cross-sectional study to investigate the psychological well being of mothers with low birth weight infants admitted to the SCN. It was conducted on one hundred and thirty (n=130) of mothers who delivered their babies at labor room, HRPZ II, Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21) score were used. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square tests. Statistically significant with p-value < 0.05. Results:There was statistically significant between maternal age and anxiety (χ²=22.10, p=0.036) and stress (χ²=17.50, p=0.041) by using chi square test. There was no significant association between maternal age and depression (χ²=10.37, p=0.321). For others demographic variables, there was no statistically significant with depression, anxiety and stress of mothers (p>0.05). Conclusion:Based on the finding in this study, most of the respondent’s have anxiety compared to depression and stress. Therefore, a nurse must have knowledge and skills, especially in terms of psychology, in handling cases related to the mother who have given birth to a low birth weight (LBW) child because parting with their children due to the relatively long hospitalization.

Adverse birth outcomes are determined by a complex combination of genetic, social, and environmental factors. Numerous studies have concluded an association exists between air pollution and low birth weight (LBW). This case-controlled study aimed to analyze the association by using 38 cases (mothers of LBW infants) and 40 controls (mothers of normal birth weight infants) in Seberang Ulu 1, Palembang City. Primary data related to indoor air pollution exposure during pregnancy was collected via structured interviews. The data was analyzed by performing chi-square and multiple logistic regressions within a risk factor model. Exposure to indoor air pollution during pregnancy was associated with the occurrence of LBW (chi-square test, p-value: 0.012, OR 3611 [95% CI 1.415 to 9.215]). No variables were found to have an interaction with the effects of indoor air pollution exposure during pregnancy and the occurrence of LBW. Exposure to indoor air pollution during pregnancy had the most significant impact on LBW occurrences after controlling for maternal age during pregnancy (multiple logistic regression, p-value: 0.019, OR 3.19 [95% CI 1, 21-8.406]). Keywords: Indoor air pollution, low birth weight, pregnancy,

Most causes of infant death are problems that occur in newborn/neonatal (0-28 days old), Low Birth Weight Babies (LBW) is one of the factors which has a contribution to infant mortality, especially in the neonatal period. Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) is a benchmark in determining the degree of public health, both at the National and Provincial levels. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Kangaroo Mother Care Method (KMC) on the prevention of hypothermia in low birth weight infants at Morowali District Hospital in 2019. The type of research used was a quasi-experiment. The population is all low birth weight babies born from May to July 2019. The sample in this study was all newborns with low birth weight born from May to July 2019, totaling 30 babies. There is a difference (influence) on the baby's body temperature before and after KMC with a p-value=0,000. The kangaroo mother care can continue to be affiliated considering its benefits for both infants and mothers, as well as increasing the ability of health workers in conducting KMC so that they can provide in-house training for mothers to be carried out at home.

ABSTRACT   Low birth weight (LBW) infants with birth weight is less than 2500 grams, regardless of gestational age. Statistically showed 90 % incidence of LBW obtained in developing countries with a mortality rate 35 times higher tinggi.Di South Sumatra Province Infant Mortality Rate ( IMR ) is 29 per 1,000 live births. In Palembang BARI hospitals incidence of LBW in 2013 amounted to 317 cases . The purpose of this study is to determine is there a relationship between the factors of age, education, and parity with the incidence of Low Birth Weight in Palembang BARI hospitals in 2013. This study used survey method crosss sectional analytic approach. The study population was all women who gave birth and was admitted to hospital obstetrics Palembang BARI installations in 2013 amounted to 901. This research was conducted in February 2014. Samples were taken with a random sampling method sistematic. Analyze data using statistical test Chi - Square. Results of univariate analysis of this study showed that 193 (69.4 %) of the respondents had low birth weight, and 85 (30.6 %) respondents had BBLN. 63 (22.7 %) of respondents with a high risk of maternal age and 215 (77.3 %) of respondents with a low risk of maternal age. 157 (56.5 %) respondents with low education mothers and 121 (43.5 %) of respondents with higher education mothers. 48 (17.3 %) respondents with high parity mothers and 230 (82.7 %) respondents with low parity mothers. So the bivariate analysis showed no significant association between maternal age with the incidence of LBW with P value = 0.035, no significant association between education and the incidence of LBW with P value = 0.006, and no significant relationship between the incidence of low birth weight with parity P value = 0.041. It is recommended for health care workers (midwives) hospital in order to be used as material information regarding the occurrence of LBW and as an input as well as the evaluation of success in good health or when needed to do counseling and care of LBW, especially to mothers who give birth to low birth weight baby. Research: Pre-eclampsia is a disease with signs of hypertension, edema, and proteinuria arising from pregnancy. This disease generally occurs in the third trimester of pregnancy, but can occur earlier, for example in hydatidiform mole (Wiknjosastro, 2005: 282). Preeclampsia and Eclampsia are one of the main causes of maternal mortality in Indonesia. The incidence of preeclampsia ranges from 5-15% of all pregnancies in the world. Based on the 2003 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS), the incidence of preeclampsia in Indonesia is estimated at 3.4–8.5%. The research method used analytical observational method through a case control approach, which is an analytical study concerning how risk factors are studied using a retrospective approach. In other words, the effect is identified now, then the risk factor is identified as having existed or occurred in the past. Research Results The results of the significance test using the Chi-Square test showed a significant relationship to the occurrence of low birth weight (LBW) in mothers with preeclampsia. This is indicated by the value of p = 0.000 which is smaller than α = 0.05, so Ho is rejected. While the results of the calculation of the Odds Ratio show that preeclampsia is one of the causes of LBW, this is indicated by the OR value of 3.028. Conclusion: There is a relationship between preeclampsia and low birth weight in dr. Soedarso Pontianak in 2018 with a probability value (ρ) = 0.000.
