The purpose of this paper was to better understand the current practice of arts therapy in educational institutions in the Czech Republic comparing it to that in health-care institutions and other working environments. The research goal was to analyze the prevalence of the different fields of arts therapy, the main difficulties of clients, the therapeutic forms, the ways of interdisciplinary cooperation, and the groups of therapists (according to their age and duration of practice). The data collected from the first national survey using “The Practice of Arts Therapies” questionnaire were analyzed with descriptive and inductive statistics (Chi-square test). The 142 respondents who participated in the study were contacted mainly through professional associations. The significant characteristics of arts therapies in educational environments are linked to the diffusion of the respective arts therapy fields (music therapy being the most prevalent), the main difficulties of pupils (learning difficulties/multiple disabilities or no obvious problems), and to the length of practice of the respondents. The results can be used for the creation of a research-based map of Czech arts therapies in educational institutions and for further development of this area.

This article is focused on attitudes of the local population within the border municipalities in the Euroregion “Drina-Sava-Majevica,” on the further development of sport-event tourism. The survey research obtained a sample of 238 respondents. Collected data were analyzed by using the SPSS (21.0). Analysis of categorical variables (Chi-square test) and coefficients of correlation, together with descriptive statistics, indicated that the local community has reliable attitudes on potentials for development of sport-events, as well as the most popular “Drinska regatta.” However, members of the local community still do not recognize possibilities of using tourism resources for gaining personal and community-wide benefits. Therefore, efforts aimed at further tourism development within the researched border municipalities should be valorized and adequately represented in the tourism market in cooperation with the local population.

The professional interests of the various stakeholders groups are often seen as obstacles to full accounting harmonization. Studying different professional interests in the accounting domain is significant for organizations involved in the international accounting harmonization process, insofar as it enables them to identify the main obstacles to face in order to achieve full harmonization. Thus, this article is aimed at analyzing the differences in terms of professional interests by addressing the participation of various stakeholders groups in the process of issuing/modifying standards of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). Based on content analysis, we examined the comment letters sent to the IASB in the context of the first part of the first phase of the project to replace the International Accounting Standard (IAS) 39, entitled "Financial Instruments - Recognition and Measurement", by the International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) 9, on its turn entitled "Financial Instruments". Respondents were identified according to the stakeholders group, and, later, the collected data underwent a nonparametric chi-square test. The results of this study indicate there are significant differences between the answers obtained from the various stakeholders groups involved in the process of issuing or reviewing a standard of the IASB, above all made clear between the group of financial preparers and the regulatory and/or standard-setting agencies and the professional associations related to accounting.

Abstract Backgrounds In Lithuania, the morbidity rate of meningococcal infection (MI) is one of the highest in the European Union. In year 2017 - 81 MI cases were reported (2.9 cases / 100 thousand inhabitants). The aim of the study - to assess the links between awareness of parents of pre-school children about meningococcal infection and behavior related to vaccination. Methods Anonymous questionnaire survey was carried out in pre-school educational institutions of Kaunas city in 2019. 165 questionnaires were presented to parents (response rate 91.52%). Associations between categorical variables were measured using Chi square test. A statistically significant difference was defined when p < 0.05. Z criterion was used for evaluating hypothesis of variable dependence. Results 55.0% of respondents know that MI is caused by bacteria and it is spread by air (84.8%). 40.1% of parents indicated that they have vaccinated their children or are planning to do so. 38.0% of respondents chose not to have their children vaccinated and did not plan vaccination in the future. Answers of parents, who have vaccinated or are planning vaccination of their children, showed a statistically significant increase of awareness of the risk of MI spreading by air (44.4% and 0.0%, p < 0.05) and that in order to avoid the risk of MI (42.3% and 0.0%, p < 0.05) children need to be vaccinated following recommended vaccination plan (53.4% and 25.0%, p < 0.05), as well that in Lithuania MI vaccine has been included in the recommended vaccination plan in 2018 (43.7% and 12.5%, p < 0.05). Conclusions More than half of the respondents know the pathogen of the MI, the way of it spreading, but less than half of them have vaccinated or are planning to vaccinate their children. Links have been identified between the vaccination of children and awareness of the ways of MI spreading and prevention of it. Key messages The behavior of parents with better awareness is related to decision of vaccination. Parents with better awareness have vaccinated or are planning to vaccinate their children from MI.

The aim of this study was to analyse dog bites to children in the Czech Republic. Data were obtained from a questionnaire completed with children aged 4 to 13 years in 11 urban and rural primary schools. A total of 103 dog bites sustained by 92 children were analysed using chi square test and F test. There were 58 boys (56.3%) and 45 girls (43.7%) bitten, 57.3% of them once, 42.7% repeatedly. The evaluated answers showed that children were bitten when playing with own dogs (69.2%) or dogs known to them (30.8%) but not by unknown dogs (χ2= 25.397, df = 1,p< 0.001). Children were bitten outdoors by loose running unknown dogs (88.5%), known dogs (11.5%) but not by own dogs (χ2= 55.528, df = 2,p< 0.001). Thirty-two children were bitten indoors by small (53.1%), medium size (21.9) or large (25.0%) dogs. Small dogs were biting mostly indoors (51.5%), medium size (73.1%) and large (80.5%) dogs bit mostly outdoors (χ2= 9.0022, df = 2,p= 0.011). Most of the children that disturbed a resting or sleeping dog were bitten indoors (83.3%; χ2= 7.862, df = 1,p< 0.01), predominantly by small dogs (83.3%, χ2= 7.482, df = 2,p= 0.022). When stroking a dog, children were bitten by a medium size (45.5%), large (31.8%) or small dog (22.7%; χ2= 5.588, df = 2,p< 0.068). Children injured by their family-owned dog had accidentally caused pain to it before being bitten (83.3%; χ2= 7.862, df = 1,p< 0.012).These children were always bitten by a small dog (χ2= 7.482, df = 2,p= 0.022). Three children reported deliberately causing pain to a dog – these were all small dogs (100.0%; χ2= 6.279, df = 2,p< 0.05). Children teasing dogs were bitten most frequently by a small dog (75.0%; χ2= 6.98, df = 2,p< 0.032). Male dogs bit more frequently (66.7%) than females (33.3%; χ2= 6.338, d.f. =1,p= 0.014). These data were the first ones obtained from the bitten children. They suggest that in interactions with own, known and small dogs, children were more daring. The personal space of dogs, their warning signals, and defence were underestimated, the resulting aggression was mostly of possessive, territorial and fear type. Additional suggestions are made to complete the information on preventive measures for parents, children and the public. Importantly, all information types should point out that the dog remains a predator despite its long domestication history and close co-existence with humans.

The paper advances the topic of food quality labels. The main goal of the study is to explore generation Y perceptions and expectations of food quality labels in the Czech Republic and Poland. The data were collected through an online survey from 372 respondents, involving 221 of Czechs and 151 of Poles. The statistical analysis procedures including descriptive statistics, Chi‑square test and Mann‑Whitney U test were performed to discover whether significant differences do exist between Czech and Polish consumer attitudes to the topic. Findings show that the number of food quality labels is perceived as strongly high and confusing, it is evident mainly in the Czech Republic. Impact of quality labels on food purchases is therefore limited and the labels benefits are not understood in full range. Statistically significant differences were confirmed between attitudes of Czechs and Poles to the food products characteristics that should be guaranteed by quality labels. Futher, Czech and Polish respondents differ in their opinion on the fee for the certification and credible administrator of the labels.
