To enable application-oriented training of Swiss pharmacists on pharmacogenetic (PGx) testing, an advanced, digital training program was conceptualized based on the Miller’s Pyramid framework, using a blended learning approach. The PGx advanced training program included an asynchronous self-study online module, synchronous virtual classroom sessions with lectures and workshops, and a follow-up case study for in-depth applied learning including the analysis of the participants’ PGx profile. The evaluation of the training program consisted of (a) an assessment of the participants’ development of knowledge, competencies and attitudes towards PGx testing in the pharmacy setting; (b) a satisfaction survey including; (c) questions about their future plans for implementing a PGx service. Twenty-one pharmacists participated in this pilot program. The evaluation showed: (a) a significant improvement of their PGx knowledge (mean score in the knowledge test 75.3% before to 90.3% after training completion) and a significant increase of their self-perceived competencies in applying PGx counselling; (b) a high level of satisfaction with the training program content and the format (at least 79% expressed high/very high agreement with the statements in the questionnaire); (c) a mixed view on whether participants will implement PGx testing as a pharmacy service (indecisive 8; agreed/completely agreed to implement 7/1; disagreed 3 (n = 19)). We consider ongoing education as an important driver for the implementation of PGx in pharmacy practice.

This article describes a program evaluation using Kirkpatrick’s four levels model. The program evaluation was conducted by studying 24 candidates for the Expert-Level Librarian training program at the National Library of Indonesia. This research uses a quantitative method to measure the level of the participants’ satisfaction level with the training and a qualitative method is used to gain deeper information through interviews. The results shows that on reaction level, 87.5% of participants have high level of satisfaction. The learning level shows an increase from the pre-test to the post-test results. In the third level, it was found that 100% of the participants received high scores. Finally, at the result level, it is shown that 87.5% of the participants received high scores. There are recommendations regarding 1) the lack of dormitories; 2) the learning process using information technology that needs to adapt to the characteristics participants; 3) training for the lecturers before actually lecturing the participants. Keywords: training program evaluation, Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model, librarian, librarianship education and training

We discussed the problems of choosing effective methods and methods of delivering education to students in the paper. This process is very complex and contains a huge range of interacting variables. Nowadays, there is no adequate theory or process to determine effective methods and methods for delivering education to students. As a rule, it is assumed that individual learning is the default option, because of its superiority, and online learning is used only when circumstances do not allow the use of individual learning. However, online learning has become very common and effective in many contexts. Fully online courses are suitable for some types of students better than others: older, more mature students; students with an already high level of education; part-time students who work or with families. In terms of blended learning, the criteria are less clearly defined than for fully online learning. These courses are more suitable for more experienced students with strong motivation. In general, online students need more self-discipline in learning and more motivation to learn to succeed. This does not mean that other types of students cannot benefit from online learning, but additional efforts must be made to develop and support such students on the Internet. In terms of blended learning, the criteria are less clearly defined than for fully online learning. The advantage for students is to increase flexibility, but they should still live close to the educational institution, since this model means attending classes at the university. In addition, blended learning enables the gradual development of self-learning skills, if it is a focused learning strategy. Research also suggests that self-study skills need to be developed while students are at university. In other words, online learning in the form of blended learning should be deliberately introduced and gradually expanded as students work on the training program, so by the time they graduate, they acquire the skills necessary for self-study, which is critical in the digital age .Based on the study, steps are suggested for choosing the necessary method and method of delivering education to students.

The present study was undertaken to explore the decision making patterns of college girls in relation to clothing and their satisfaction level with these decision making patterns. Thirty under graduate college girls from Panipat city were approached to record their responses regarding decision making in relation to clothing and satisfaction level through a well structured questionnaire. It was found that most of the girls (56.66%) themselves made the decisions about the type of garment (Indian, western or both) they wear and majority of girls (70%) were highly satisfied with this decision making. Parents performed the role of buyers for their college going daughters' garments in most of the cases (63.33%) and the 73.33% girls had high level of satisfaction with this. In most of the cases (60%) the decision about the garment design was made by the girls themselves and they were highly satisfied with it. Keywords: clothing, college, girls, decision making.

There is a growing body of literature that recognizes the importance of applying gamification in educational settings. This research developed an application to gamify students’ homework to address the concern of the students’ inability to complete their homework. This research aims to investigate students’ performance in doing their homework, and reflections and perceptions of the gameful experience in gamified homework exercises. Based on the data gathered from experimental and control groups (N = 84) via learning analytics, survey, and interview, the results show a high level of satisfaction according to students’ feedback. The most noticeable finding to extract from the analysis is that students can take on a persona, earn points, and experience a deeper sense of achievement through doing the gamified homework. Moreover, the students, on the whole, are likely to be intrinsically motivated whenever the homework is attributed to factors under their own control, when they consider that they have the expertise to be successful learners to achieve their desired objectives, and when they are interested in dealing with the homework for learning, not just achieving high grades.

This study aimed to investigate Malassezia furfur inhibitory activity of the fermented product from Ocimum sanctum and develop an antidandruff shampoo. The fermented product was obtained by the fermentation process of the aerial part of O. sanctum. Total soluble protein was detected in the fermented product with the amount of 65.32 ± 0.14 mg/100 mL, whereas there was no organic acid. The inhibitory activity against four strains of M. furfur (No. 133, 656, 6000, and 7966) of the fermented product and shampoos containing the fermented product were investigated by broth dilution and agar diffusion method, respectively. The fermented product possessed high antifungal activity with the minimum inhibitory concentrations for 50% (MIC50) of M. furfur 133, 656, 6000, and 7966 of 0.125, 0.25, 0.125, and 0.125 mg/mL, respectively. Interestingly, the antifungal activity against M. furfur 656 was comparable to that of ketoconazole. Shampoo formulation C, which was the best formulation in terms of characteristics and stability, obtained a high level of satisfaction scores in terms of hair smoothness, hair shine, ease in combing, frizz reduction, and triboelectric reduction while brushing. Additionally, the shampoo containing 2% (w/w) of the fermented product of O. sanctum also possessed inhibitory activity against M. furfur 133, 656, 6000, and 7966 with inhibition zones of 13.2 ± 1.6, 12.8 ± 1.1, 18.7 ± 0.3, and 17.0 ± 1.1 mm respectively. Therefore, this shampoo was suggested for use as an antidandruff shampoo.
